As an actor, that was so skilled at diversifying his talent he raised the bar in his field and we now look to those who follow to bring us the same level of acting. One of kind, totally unforgettable and always a pleasure to watch. Thank you for sharing your beautiful talent with us. We will always be grateful to you. When I heard of his passing, it triggered all those memories I try to suppress of the day we got the call about my brother passing. I understand the pain your family carries everyday. I know how much they will miss you, it never lessens. This deep pain lingers, so I hold on the happy memories, those special memories of the good times we had, this helps me get up everyday, to keep moving forward. I hope your family finds this solace too.

I have tried my best to envisage your body lifeless or with no acting skills but totally hard. I am a Nigerian who though loves Korean movies however, is always too tired to see movies generally, but with you, I can watch even episodes upon episodes....this is to count on the amazing personality you carry in life even unto our screens.

You are effortlessly loveable and I wish tears could change death events. I just hope that your wife and children will find solace someday on all these events. I am glad to know you have a strong wife but can wife really be strong when it comes to their man's death??? This is why I said she is strong because she is trying soooo hard to get back her life.

Ellis Dec 28 2024 8:31 am It's been a year but I still think about Lee Sun-Kyun with a heavy heart, and haven't been able to re-watch anything he was in. I hope I will eventually be able to enjoy his movies again.

I loved his acting, that incredible voice and how handsome he was, but most of all he was my age and I too have children, so I can't help but identify with what he did and what it must have been like for them. To think that he was hounded and harassed to the point that he felt so low he decided to take his own life in his prime and leave his family behind days before the dawn of a new year... What a tragedy.

I hope you rest in peace, Lee Sun-Kyun.

jilcel Aug 05 2024 12:29 pm Many times his drama My Mister, passes through my timeline and newsfeed. I happened to ignore it since I am not a fan of IU as well as I don't know Lee Sun-Kyun. However, I had the chance to watch A Hard Day where he was the lead star. And I am impressed with his acting aside from the story. Then again, My Mister passed through my timeline again which made me decide to watch it, since my mother and I were looking for Kdrama series that are worth watching. Would you believe, we were able to finish all 16 episodes in just 2 days? I even had to sacrifice my work from home because of this. Me and my mom were stuck with this drama and didn't want to leave until it was finished. However, watching this made me emotional as I am fully aware that Lee Sun-Kyun is already gone. It pains me to realize that the Kdrama world lost one great actor because of his demise! He's got superb talent! You can feel his emotion through his eyes, while he speaks, everything! I felt like crying especially in the last episode though I was just shy to let my mother see it. I was able to watch 1 Kmovie (A Hard Day) and 1 Kdrama (My Mister) with him as the lead star. Even if he's already gone, I became an instant fan and I will be watching more of his works. #RIPMyMisterLeeSunKyun :'( ='(

I finally watched My Mister & couldn’t stop. What incredible acting. He became one of my all time favorite actors. I’m deeply sorry for the pain & hopelessness he must have been feeling. Just wondering if there could be a foul play. I read in the news that he’s been blackmailed and threatened. If this is the case I hope it will be resolved soon with proper investigation.

I understand he had been having a hard time and drug scandals are the worst in SK, like the drag and hate are no joke, whether or not a person is innocent, but I feel he was being selfish. If for no one else, at least for his family, for his kids, he should have fought harder. If he was truly innocent, his career would have taken a big hit for only being a suspect, but he'd have been cleared and with time, it'd be like the allegations never happened. I keep wondering what went through his mind when he made that decision. I especially worry for his kids. Who are they supposed to look up to now? How would they be treated by their peers? I'm so angry. I love LSK so much and his death really broke my heart. May his soul rest in peace and my condolences to his family. I hope they get through this hard time. Stay strong.

Quinn Dec 27 2023 10:20 am I am so, so sad to hear of Lee Sun-Kyun’s passing. I know he was in some legal trouble recently and may have even used some drugs in the past. Regardless of what he did or didn’t do, one fact remains. He was a human. And all humans are worthy of redemption, of a second chance, of the opportunity to right their wrongs.

He had a special place in my mind and heart. I watched My Mister at a time in my life a couple years ago when I was at my absolute lowest. I felt that I didn’t want to exist anymore. But something about that show and both his and IU’s characters, was cathartic for me. And by the end of the show, I felt that I could go on and had hope for myself. I am so grateful for that show and the message and lessons it gave me.

I am from the Caribbean and our culture, like many, is very different from a lot of other countries but yet we still have people in all parts of the world who are so very judgmental, these same people who are like us, far from perfect and it's so so sad that we are so unforgiving and cruel to others. We were not put on this earth to be cruel, hateful nor mean, let us be more kind and loving. I will miss watching this great actor.

Loved this actor so much. Korea needs to get it together, alcohol abuse is at an all time high but they crucify celebrities for "allegedly" partaking in drug use. If it was really for public safety wouldn't they react the same to alcohol consumption?

He gets close with a temp worker half his age with her own struggles. When he shows her kindness, she falls in love with him and does everything to protect him. LSK portrays the character who thinks he must sacrifice himself for the happiness of others very convincingly and compellingly. An outstanding performance!

I don't usually like sad, stressful films, series but the pacing was good for my weak heart. A compliment to involved writers, producers and directors (no idea who of course, I don't normally care about people behind the characters)

But this guy's performance, along with other involved actor performance was so good, so perfectly delivered, I've never been moved by such great acting. I am not sure if it applies to all Korean Cinema or just this move had the perfect crew but world has something to learn from you guys.

I never watch films for actors, writers or directors, I take each movie as a new page. After being impressed by Dong Hoon and others I looked up the actors - for the first time in my life I was so inspired that I would find out about people behind the story. Sure, I've done that when I've seen a cute woman acting but that's just loneliness not professional view.

It was then I also realized, I've seen Dong Hoon and that girl in one other film respectively - Dong Hoon played in Parasite and the girl played in Hotel Del Luna. These two and My Mister are the only three stories I've watched from Korean cinema during my adult years. But what made me impressed is that - I didn't see the people behind those characters, I would've never imagined they are the same people - that's how impressive you guys are.

I never thought I'd be like this but I'd love to shake hands with the cast and thank for their work personally.

I can't say which scene is my favourite since each had its own value but last one that stuck to my heart was, where the girl was being walked by Dong Hoon's crew home, right to the door, she says something like "I can't wait to get to your age quicker, life is so much easier then" and the whole crew - self-aware of how much they've struggled, still struggle and that every day is an effort for each one of them - they stop, in silence, looking at each other, not sure how to respond because it never became easy.

Thank you guys for your awesome performance, truly carried all the emotions across, felt like I was there. I would sometimes even catch myself doing something else, concerned or worried and then I self-analyze - it's because a character is struggling.

chiel ordenes Jul 23 2020 8:29 pm good thing i watched this series till the end. it was one of the best korean series i have watched. i love how sun-kyun showed his emotions, sometimes suppressing it. he is a good actor. i love the series; it is a suspense-drama for me, with a light comedy moment, and i love the cast (more good movies and series for you all). will watch Hard Day where sun-kyun won as best actor. i was surprised that IU is a singer (i am not much into korean singers). she is a good actress. here's hoping for more best movies, series and awards for you, sun-kyun!

He is a great actor, He's very popular in SK. he might not popular overseas as much as gong yoo, lee dong wook, kim rae won etc but his acting skill is level A. He played many characters and he did an amazing job. From good man in 'my mister' to very creepy guy in 'special lady'. And Being eccentric in 'petty romance'. And Many more character i can't write down because will be to long to write. I will always be his fans. hopefully he will bring out more and more great attainments from his dramas and movies.

My ex & I had an on & off relationship for almost 7 years & he had cheated on me so many times & he knows that I knew all about it (he then confess & tells me all about it, all about the girls that she cheated me on) & always wants to get back together with me & I forgive him everytime, which I know was stupid because I still love him.

We broke up again this year because I suddenly changed my number & literally cut him off my life 100% (I don't have any social media because of this). Watching the 1st & 2nd episodes of MWHAATW literally reminds me of myself & how I cried my heart out for someone who never loves me.

It's over now but I still have feelings for him. I never tell anyone about this, even to my best friends, coz it hurts even when trying to let out to someone. Ever since I changed my number, I avoid going out with friends or going to places that he might be going. I can only go to 3 of shopping malls nearby which I'm 100% sure that I will never accidentally meet him.

But when my sister was watching PASTA, I was a litlte bit interested to watch scene in the kitchen cooking. You're really a chef who is very hard to lead the kitchen staff. They work under pressures to produce the perfect La Sfera's menu. Fortunately it is just a movie. If it happened in the real world..woow..I guarantee you'll be kicked out from your kitchen by you staff ang it was approved by your boss. Although, you have managed to portray a charismatic chef with a very sustains bodily gestures you role as a chef. Good job, Chef.. next month I'll raise your salary 100x.ha,ha,ha...
