LKB Dec 11 2017 7:09 am Convincing as a tender, generous doctor, as a poor and pitiable father, as a clever quirky servant to a silly boy, as a prosecutor both one full of justice and one power tripping, as an abusive dbag husband and father, as a politician greedy for more, as someone committing crimes to cover up other crimes, as a senior Intelligence Agency (NIS) director... Historical, 1970s, present day, poor-middle class-rich-chaebol, attractive or ugly in presentation... The man is a massively talented CHAMELEON. I am thoroughly impressed and as much as his talent is ultimately what makes me love his work, I also must mention that he (partly because he HAS the luxury of choice thanks to honing such skill!!) chooses scripts so well-he seems to actually READ them before just taking any role that has more than x# of minutes per episode average etc! He is one of the guys I can almost always be assured will not only do a good job but also, whether his character is one to love or hate or a bit of both, wager that it will be a good show. Incidentally, it is great to see a bit of his Shopping King Louis character back alongside Yoo Seung Ho this time (it was Seo In Guk last time around and agh, he was almost as adorable as-and by the end even MORE adorable than!!-Seo In Guk/Louis)!! Now the cute but rather isolated and lonely and dysfunctional 20-something is YSH though instead of super intelligence, heightened senses, and sweet naivety and trust about everything/everyone, Eom Hyo Seop (his name=Hangulized Joseph incidentally, hence it being so unusual) is the doctor to someone who trusts no one whatsoever but is still frail, lonely, and afraid... And cute, so cute. I think they will be amazing together! Yoo Seung Ho is practically as much a veteran actor as many mid-30s high dollar stars thanks to early discovery of his talent and of course visual appeal and lots of work from such a young age alongside greats like Eom Hyo Seop... What a super team, and I also am thankful as they will both, in different ways, guide Chae Soo Bin, the robot-girl in the current drama, to becoming better and better! Fostering young talent is something I find 1) a societal duty for veteran actors 2) a gift to all viewers as we reap the fruits of their labor as much as the actors they nurture and 3) something I really appreciate from the likes of parent-like elders such as Eom Hyo Seop, Ahn Nae Sang, Jeon Mi Sun, Kim Mi Kyung, Ko Du Shim, Kim Gap Soo, and more along with beautiful established talents like Ji Sung, Lee Young Ae, Gong Yoo, Kim Hyun Joo, Ji Jin Hee, Jang Na Ra, Jang Hyuk, Choi Gang Hee, Joo Jin Mo, Kim So Yeon, and their fellow "discovered young" hyung-oppa-unni-noona mentors like Hwang Jung Eum, Lee Joon Gi, Park Min Young, Jang Geun Suk etc... No wonder such phenomenal talent keeps getting churned out at every corner in SK. They have guidance from absolute superstars who retain humility the whole time (not all are humble-some Hallyu stars really soak up the fame well enough to have quite the soggy sponges for egos, but the most phenomenal talents truly have incredible humility that only increases as they become even more proficient, their art and skill always being more perfected, honed like a sharp tool to never let blunt lest it harm someone with jagged edges :)) Ziva Sep 06 2017 12:53 pm He is the one . . . perfect acting Im Yoon Ah Jan 08 2017 4:40 am I <3 (love) this man.
