Min-Kyu (Yoo Seung-Ho) is the largest shareholder of a finance company. He is handsome and intelligent, but he lives in seclusion due to his allergy of people. Meanwhile, Ji-A (Chae Soo-Bin) is an aspiring entrepreneur and works as a personal shopper. She receives a phone call from her ex-boyfriend Baek-Gyun (Uhm Ki-Joon). Her ex-boyfriend is a world renown developer of android robots. His latest creation is the android Aji 3, which he built with the same physical appearance as Ji-A, but an accident has broken Aji 3. Making matters worse, he has received an order for Aji 3 from Min-Kyu with the promise of more investment money if he's satisfied. Being in such a predicament, Baek-Gyun offers money to Ji-A if she will go to Min-Kyu's home and pretend to be Aji 3. Ji-A is in need of money and accepts the offer.

But the real problem and this is the second drama I have seen it happen lately the song playing in the background is too loud and the actor and the singer are competing as the lyrics are overlapping the actors lines. It’s harder to watch.

This was my first time watching a drama of chae so bin doing a main lead in a drama. She acts very well both as the android robot Aji 3 and the girl Ji A. Actually I watched this series because I like Yoo seung-ho very much. He never has disappointed me as an actor. Here too as usual he was able to impressed me as Kim min kyu. Chae so bin had a great chemistry with yoo seung-ho as a couple. I hope to watch Chae's dramas more because she is really cute and talented. This is one of best romantic fancy dramas I have ever watched. l recommend this series to all who like to watch fancy and romcom dramas. Saranghae!!!

mlee Feb 28 2022 12:02 pm I loved the show.. I laughed, I cried, I refused to go to sleep until the last moment of the show, and then woke up missing it.. The entire cast were fantastic.. Yoo Seung-ho and Chae Soo-bin are absolutely perfect together, I love the sparing, the comedy and hurt for both during the tears.. I'm still laughing at the scene where they open the door to the case, he's standing at the door, and robot jumps back yelling. I loved every minute of it..

I started last night for my weekend night. Went all the way to episode 10. Stop for brunch and for this comment. The FL - Chae Soo Bin... taebak! I gonna have to watch her other dramas. The ost's are perfectly allocated, neither too much nor too repetitive. A Must See one. Although you are not into science fiction, i would say try two episodes.

May Oct 30 2021 7:11 am I’m very picky with the Korean dramas I watch and I always observe the screenwriting, directing, cinematography, storyline, OST and so on...INAR is my top 1 favorite kdrama from 2018 until today. Sure, it’s not perfect (as there is no kdrama that’s perfect) but the mastery of the director and how the story progresses, I’ve never seen a drama been made this good. Definitely one of the finest and highest quality dramas you can find in Korean entertainment

Their acting are so natural and so cute. I'm falling in love with Yoo Seung-Ho's smile. (^^=) I'm watching it again. I've just watched "Her private life", then "A world of married couple". This 2nd one is good but makes me stress. So happy to find this series.(^v^) I feel better. It's my "must see" list of Korean series.

Brittainey Feb 17 2021 11:01 pm I love this drama. It had its ups and downs and areas that could’ve been cut out. Overall, it was a rollercoaster of emotions. It was funny, silly, maddening, hurtful, shocking, and lovely a at the same time. I found it refreshing to have younger leads play JiAh and MinKyu. I really enjoyed the fact that Yoo SeungHo and Chae SooBin are the same age so their chemistry really shown throughout the drama. I noticed that their laughs and their jokes came off more naturally and it felt so real and genuine. They had great chemistry together and that made me look past the fantasy storyline of a boy with psychological problems falling in love with a robot. It had the typically Kdrama storyline (boy falls in love with mystery girl, mystery girl knew boy, boy gets mad and then they make up), but with a twist. I’ve watched this drama so many times already. Yoo SeungHo’s acting in here was superb. I hope he does more rom-com in the future. Chae SooBin was the perfect actress to play the duel roles and she held her characters

Maine Nov 27 2020 12:35 pm I really love this kdrama. After I rewatch it, I remember how this drama caught me emotions before. It may have a common storyline (except for the robot thingy), but it was really made well. After Knowing that both male and female lead wasn't the first choice for this drama, well I think it's a blessing in disguise because no one could ever portray Min Kyu and Ji A's roles well other than Seung Ho and Soo Bin. This is one of my favorite over my less than a hundred kdramas watched. Hope to see Seung Ho and Soo Bin together again.

Maine Nov 19 2020 1:07 pm I just rewatch this again and i must say that i still really love this drama. Lots of laughs and tears are what this drama will give you. All actors gave exemplary acting skills, especially Yoo Seung Ho, he did very great. Plots were made awesome, making it on my top 5 list. After rewatching it, again all i csn say is, how can i move on with this? Also my heart for YSH beats again. ❤️ I do recommend this, even my mom loves this so much.

martin May 13 2020 8:43 am Great female lead. Another male main character who's selfish and immature yet is seeing as being kind and sensitive when he's feeling sorry for himself. He takes a turn for the creepy when he bumps into Ji-A on the train and follows her despite not knowing she was really that she was impersonating AJ3 all the time.

You could compare with Jang Seon-kyul from Clean With Passion for Now. Another emotionally damaged male character. His romance with Gil Og-sol was believable. Whilst he was an ass too there were regular enough moments of kindness and consideration that would make sense for Oh-sol to change her view of him. Min-gyu was just selfish.

Amazing story, great character development and the acting is just so perfect. Yoo Seung-ho is the best actor I’ve ever seen on screen and is the only actor that has made me cry this much.

It sucks that I watched this early on my KDrama journey because everything else seems bland compared to this.

Great story line and character development, superb cast portrayals, awesome locations. I keep missing it, it's been 3 years already but i still feel the same flutters and aches every time i watch it. It's Seungho and Soobin's first rom com (they're always casted in melodramas) that's why when they act--ugh the feels! Your heart will flutter or ache with them too! Perfect!

I've watched this drama many times consecutively, yet, I still don't get tired feeling the love, the laughter, the joy, and chemistry between the lead characters as well as the rest of the cast. That's why my NO. 1 question is why NR in the ratings? Whyyyyyyyyyyy???????? what's wrong with the raters? There's nothing wrong with the drama...This is so far one of the best K-dramas I've ever watched. It's All-in-One..a perfect package..You have everything, yet the most essential is never obscured. In fact it surrounds the entire story- Love...I can feel it. I can therefore say that I have irrevocably fallen in love with this drama. Thank you so much. I feel that this is the K-drama I can always watch anytime for a lifetime...I consider this a classic.

I regretted that i didnt watch it last year. This was the most amazing and best rom com kdrama. Chae soo bin is really beautiful and yoo seung ho is a handsome man. Both make a perfect couple. the lead couple were so lovable and cute, plus Uhm Ki-Joon brought class to the cast (showed why he is one of the best actors in the industry).

This drama was honestly just completely beautiful. It made me laugh and swoon and it made my heart melt in ways I didn't even know it could. I am not usually one who digs the romantic kind, so this drama took me completely by surprise.

It was exciting, with a plot that actually stretches your imagination, two leads that will absolutely leave you swooning with their undeniable chemistry and some really hilarious jokes that honestly cracked me up. The acting was stellar, -especially that of the two leads- and out of all the kdramas I've watched over the years, this definitely felt completely fresh.

I don't know how high the ratings are in Korea, but I've learned that you can't judge how awesome a kdrama is based on the ratings in its home country. I'm Not a Robot is complete proof of that.

Don't want to spoil anything, so... if you're in for a great story that will make your heart feel light with happiness, then go watch this drama!

PS: Prepare to have yourself swept off your feet once again by Yoo Seung-Ho;)

Highly Recommended!!! ever since i started watching episode 1 i couldn't stop myself from wanting to watch more and find out about what would happen next. the storyline is so interesting and this show allows you to feel different emotions in a day. i got so emotional while watching it & i couldn't stop myself from crying. i can guarantee that you would love the series & would totally fall for the male lead!! besides that you would totally love the chemistry between the main characters.

but i feel that they rushed to end the drama at the last episode, some parts could be elaborate and explained more / show more. also to me, i feel like some part were not necessary but they made it quite long so i had to skip it as it was really boring.

But overall, it was a good drama. I just finished it but i have the urge to rewatch it again. trust me, it's a drama you won't regret watching. i never leave comments / feedbacks after i've watched a drama but this would be my first since it's really amazing & i would like more people to watch it.

emz Jun 08 2018 1:36 pm so i finished this drama in one day (imagine 16 hours straight, literally dead) and i have a few mixed feelings. the ending was wonderful and really cute, but i feel like they rushed the part close to it and cut it too short - there were a lot of things that could have been elaborated on n fixed. for one, there were a number of TOO long conversation scenes that i felt could have been sped up or skipped over. i also felt that chae soo-bin's crying scenes felt pretty fake (idk she barely shed tears like what) but she has such ~amazing~ chemistry with yoo seung-ho. these two are so adorable together, with such cute smiles, even if i felt like (SPOILER) the kissing scenes were too long and kinda weird with how they zoomed in with their mouth lOL. i really liked the funny slow-burn in the beginning, but close to the end (like i said before) i feel like they should have cropped out some of the unnecessary long confrontation parts to make more room for growth of different relationships for the side characters (whose acting was also gr8 btw) like legit i had to take breaks in the middle of some of the episodes bc i didnt like the long talks. some episodes were really sad tho, i could totally feel the emotions in the main characters, and there were a number of episodes were i was just crying all throughout. basically im just complaining about the fact that i didnt get to see more of my favorite characters in the end (like pls i need to know more) but honestly, all that aside, this is an amazing kdrama if you like light, fluffy, adorably awkward rom-coms that have happy endings drizzled with some angst and epic crying moments (who doesn't)!!! i would give this drama a 9/10, totally a must watch for people who are new to kdramas.

TL;DR - watch it. you won't regret it <3

This drama is sooo funny, cute, sad and beautiful. All in one. really enjoy myself watching this kind of light fun rom-com. YSH and CSB now my bias. I watched their previous dramas but become a fan after watching i'm not a robot. This drama is very popular internationally despite low rating in south korea. I hope all casts and production team know this fact. YSH and CSB make a great couple, they should know this at least :P

I just finished it and I'm so sad :'( Like at first I thought it would be a weird drama with lots of not funny, wtf moments but then I realized it was not the case ( well a bit at the beginning x) It was so cute, funny, the actors were good ( I already knew Yoo Seung Ho, I was more scared for the female lead but her acting turned out to be really good too). I don't understand why this drama didn't get popular in Korea.. Another thing! I've watched so many dramas and often they try to insert unnecessary drama moments, like you don't understand why there's drama, why the leads would act the way they act, you just want them to communicate with each other so they can clear the misunderstandings but they often don't for some reason which is veeeeeeery frustrating to me... But this drama was different I could understand the drama moments between them, like it was not there just to be there, it was logical? And the leads communicated between them to solve the problem! I don't know if it's clear but anyway I was so happy while watching this drama so I recommend it!!

And then BAAAAM! 1st episode & I was hooked! The funny thing is, I don't know much about the plot, never watched the trailer and started watching thinking the lead guy(YSH) was a robot or something and then realized I was wrong

My Favorite Korean Drama and TV Series that I have watched so far. The title of the drama might sound silly but this drama is so good and is a much watch. Every person that I recommended watching this drama where able to finished the whole drama and made it their favorite drama. The actors are so beautiful and are good in their craft. They played their roles very well that every romantic scene make you feel so in love with the characters. The cinematography is also so beautiful that made the scenes more romantic. You are really missing out on a good drama if you would not watched this drama. I hope the actors would be paired again in a future project.

But then I found this clip which promoted "I'm not a robot" and had this random yet immediate attraction first with the actor (Yoo Seung-Ho) and then with the story. I didn't have much time to hesitate since I got really excited and was really attracted to Yoo Seung-Ho. I also found Chae Soo-Bin utterly cute being dolled up like that!I actually finished the Kdrama after 2 days and never felt a single tinge of regret. I was fascinated with the storyline since the relationship built with the robot was not established in a sappy manner. I am amazed that it still gave emphasis on the importance of communication between us, humans. And please, I believe the viewers know very well that the actors and actresses and all people behind the drama did an exemplary job to spearhead another trend in kdrama land. I found the actors' and actresses' acting very convincing. I'm very proud with each one of them and I firmly believe that their mastery and passion cannot be hastily reduced and understood merely by what the ratings show/ what other viewers say. I'm glad I've watched this drama which made me feel lots of emotions and brought lots of realizations in life. I really love Yoo Seung-Ho and I hope to see more of his kdramas in the near future!! Lots of love❤️ HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ???

I have watched many korean dramas, but I have not watched a korean drama for a while because they were all getting generic and boring. However, a few days ago this drama caught my eye with its title and cover. I noticed actor Yoo Seung Ho because I watched his past dramas. I have tried to start a few new dramas, but the beginning did not hook me. However, when I started this drama, I immediately fell in love! Yoo Seung Ho is a great actor and this my first drama with Chae Soo Bin. I can tell that she has great potential and I absolutely adore her. The director did a perfect job on choosing the cast because each of them suited very well in their roles. Overall, the storyline was written well and it started with a hook and ended perfectly. Throughout the whole drama it did not get boring nor there were any slow parts. This drama is unique and it is just amazing. I believe that everything was very interesting. I believe the writer is talented because they were original and different from every other drama. With this certain cast and unique storyline, it made this drama perfect. I 100% really recommend this korean drama.

Started a little dry but continued to watch only because the leading man & lady were handsome & beautiful. It was funny sad & jerky. Jerky because u always have those that can't handle others doing well so they have to try to take the good ones down. Ur rally them on in hopes the suppose robot will in the end be accepting of the live Kim has for her. I thought it was actually a robot but because of problems the actual person portrayed the robot until the actual robot could get up & running. So many close calls . However this is a "Must Watch" drama. U'll never get bored and it's not nerve racking. It's totally enjoyable.

The interesting twist of the plot was that it has android/human romance genre, and the story was unique and interesting. Plenty of hilarious scenes and very well executed plot. The acting was very good. Chae Soo Bin is cute, lovely. I put I Am Not a Robot in my top five favorite South Korea TV shows list. I highly recommend this one to anyone.

N i totally loved him in this tooo.... Cha soo bin n the rest of the cast was amazing!!! The ending could've been bttr.... There wer loop holes.. They wer mentioned who madame x was... N they dint even show the new robot's face... 8.5/10

The story was balance till the end. I am satisfied how they end the drama. There are some points that are unresolved, like this madame x... But the whole drama was refreshing that I could watch it forever and never gets tired of it. The acting was great! Very good casting! Yoo Seung Ho is sooo cute, oh my gosh! And Chae Soo Bin compliments him soo much! I hope they will also date in real life... Hahaha I hope I could still see more project of them together!

I laughed, cried, thrilled, and even had butterflies in my stomach. This is amazing, the cute guy cried a lot and it's the first time I saw a drama wherein the actor cried more than the AcTress.. No doubt he got some awards.. aja oppa.. I have troubles memorizing korean names. SORRY.. never regret to press the play button and spent hours, data, and tears on this drama.

I love the leads' chemistry so much that it would be quite hard to see them with other partners. (unfortunately, koreans rarely repeat pairings :() The acting is excellent. Yoo Seung Ho and Chae Soo Bin play their roles so perfect, they can make you feel what they are feeling: when they are giddy, frustrated, in love and heartbroken. I smile when they smile. I cry when they cry. And I love the ending, it's a perfect circle from the first episode :)

All in all, it's a beautiful emotional roller-coaster ride. I'm glad I stumbled upon it. The best ❤ Totally recommended! Don't mind the ratings, the show is so underrated, it's too good to miss :)

PS. I read from other fans that this is Yoo Seung Ho's first romcom drama. He totally nailed it! I hope to see him in other romcoms (though he is also so perfect with melodramas) ❤

The premise may seem absurd at first (maybe the reason for low ratings :(), with the man having human allergy and girl pretending to be a robot, but damn, this show is totally worth it!!

The story is funny at the beginning, I love how Jia pretends to be a robot, and those moments when she almost slip her cover, but fortunately, MinKyu is a big idiot (well, adorably idiot ❤) that he doesn't catch on. But as the story progresses, the deception gets bigger and bigger, and the stake gets higher and higher, it becomes sad and heartbreaking. I swear, this show broke my heart into millions of pieces! (I just want to give the adorable yet lonely boy MinKyu a big hug!)

This show is totally worth it! Totally recommended ❤? Ratings be damned!!!

I read the synopsis first and got interested but some of my friends told me it's not worth the watch so I was reluctant but finally decided to watch it and omg I can't believe where all the negative comments come from its such a good romantic drama. The lead actors were amazingly good looking and did a terrific job. This drama has opened the door for more k dramas for me. I will never forget this beautiful drama and to learn that it did not achieve good viewership rating is just surprising. And btw I am using aj3 ringtone from the day I heard it. Would love to see these two leads again in more dramas?

Yoo Seung-Ho is indeed a good actor. he is one of the finest actor in this generation. one of the few actors who can make me cry and feel sad in emotional scene. great actor. Chemistry of lead actors is there... Bromance is there. As usual rates are just numbers...don't be fooled by checking the ratings first.. give it a try..you will like it! good drama.. recommended!

I'm so thankful Dong Ha and Minah declined the offer, cause I couldnt think of anyone fit the character of Jia and Minkyu beside YSH and CSB. Well, Minah might be, but i personally dont think she'll have a better chemistry than the leads. I like Dongha's acting, but I personally don't think he's yet ready for a rom-com lead-role. Maybe in the next project

Although I'm no stranger to Korean entertainment; and It might just be me, or just because this is the first K-drama I'm actually watching. I searched really hard for one that wasn't too romance-y like so many of these K-Dramas seem to be, from my point of view anyway. Instead, I searched for one that would suit me better, one that I could enjoy and get a laugh out of, which I'm Not A Robot provided.

Whilst the acting may not be 100% and the story a little hard to follow, (of course, I don't know Korean and rely on subs, so the show may actually make perfect sense to a fluent Korean speaker.) the plot is unique, the humor is well done and the characters personalities are very diverse.

I really wish we could have seen more of this show, it wasn't a failure, it was funny and I really liked it.

I actually have nothing bad to say about this movie. I just finished watching this drama yesterday and I already miss Kim Min Kyu, Jo Ji A, the Santa Maria Research Team and all the casts.

Remember how he had those meaningful conversations with Mr. Jo (right after he first tendered his resignation), to convince him not to abandon Min kyu, Yoo Cheol, which ultimately led to the two former friends patching things up, and Min Kyu himself (the hedgehog story), which helped Min Kyu decide to call JiA with the heart lamp. He's not just an employee; he's clearly very smart and sharp and genuinely concerned for his boy.

It was so amazing that I couldn't believe it ended. everyone in this drama was just amazing , especially the main couple. I wanted a romantic happy ending for Hwang Yoo-Cheol and Ye ri too, I loved them and think yoo cheol is a good person after all but there wasn't so much focus on this couple.

While waiting for new episodes to come out, must have rewatched the previous 4 episodes 2-4 times. Usually catch things like sounds/actions/etc that I missed the first time around. Give this drama a 10/10. (Identity of Madame X not important. All you need to know is Madame X was an informant who helped Min Kyu & Co when they needed help).

echo_friendly Jan 29 2018 9:58 am i liked this drama. if i was kim min-kyu, i already knew that aji-3 was played by a human (jo ji-a) not a robot in the 2nd meeting. as a human being with whatever IQ level i have in mind, i should know the different between human and robot. her eye contact and body language doesn't fix as a robot. her reaction, gesture and movement was fast in certain situation and often seen blink of eyes several time. it's too perfect being a robot. rather being angry and sort of thing to be disappointed, i decided to play along with their lie until they telling the truth. why? mostly because chae soo-bin looks adorable in that pink dress. hahaha. its true and i'll testing aji-3 a.k.a. jo ji-a just liked kim-min-kyu did in the episode 3. but, the only thing that i don't want is human contact allergy. hahaha. overall, i really enjoy seeing these drama and of course it get happy ending.

I really hope they will consider giving this series a season 2 specially with the new robot am so dying to know who it look like. Also I was hoping the goons who help Aji3 was given a chance to be part of Santa Maria Team since they were not really bad guys. The mind blowing part was finding out the real name of Ssanip was Kim Min-Kyu.

This is my favorite kdrama of all time, I love it so much I feel like crying because it's really over :( Yoo Seung Ho and Chae Soo Bin had amazing chemistry on and off screen, I'm pretty sure they fell for each other in real life haha I hope they date!! Everyone worked so hard and the result was flawless. I laughed and cried a lot with so many mixed emotions. I'm gonna miss this kdrama so much :(

Steph Jan 26 2018 11:01 am I already left a positive comment about this drama last december when it was still airing. Again, I am here to say that I have high praises for this drama! It was consistent until the last episode and there was closure for all the characters. This series has just the right amount of romance, comedy, and drama; and I really like that the storytelling wasn't very much focused on the bigger conflict (between Min Kyu and Hwang Do Won); instead, it focused on each of the characters and their development and relationships, which I think was refreshing. Most kdramas tend to focus on bigger conflicts so that there's more "drama", but this series is different -- and that felt more realistic, to be honest. I also like that Yoo-Cheol and Ri-El (which are characters whom you usually expect to be enemies with Min Kyu given the conflict between each of their parents) have a some type of conscience, are more 'human', and are able to make decisions on their own without being dictated by their own fathers' ambitions -- which is again uncommon in kdramaland.

Also, I cannot even begin to describe the acting skills of both leads in this drama! This is the first time I've watched Yoo Seung Ho, and I must say, I wasn't expecting his wide acting range! He's really good. And Chae Soo Bin also shined in this drama. For a rookie, she's good too -- though I knew she was good since I've already seen her acting in Sassy Go Go. And that chemistry, oh goodness! I've been screaming like crazy the entire series!! I SHIP THESE TWO!!!

This drama deserves more recognition! Watch it and recommend to your friends too so that more people will appreciate this gem right here. Kudos to the director, writers, actors, and all production staff! You all did well. <3

I usually can't rewatch dramas after I finish them but this one I can. I just love everything about it. It has comedy in the beginning. A lot of sadness which crush my heart but thankful there was enough happiness in the last few episodes for me to feel all warm heart. A great plot and story and I felt like everything was solved and everything being revealed was nicely done. The chemistry is so strong between the main leads. Yoo Seung-Ho & Chae Soo-Bin did an excellent job. I love them even more now.

The story is genuinely sweet, like a modern fairy tale. The acting is wonderful. The scenery and cinematography is great... as are the costumes.

Korean drama shows are typically well done. This is one that won't let you down. It pulled my heart in different directions; and always had me wanting more. With four more episodes yet to be released, I can hardly wait.

Kim Min Kyu's dad was the chairman (and owner) of the KM Financial company. His parents died in a car accident 15 years ago when Min-Kyu was little, leaving him to become today the very capable but tough and lonely CEO of KM Financial.

While Min-Kyu’s dad was chairman and owner, he had as business partner Hwang Do-Won who is now chairman of the board of the company while Min-Kyu is the CEO. Hwang Do-Won is the father of Min Kyu's childhood friend Hwang Yoo-Cheol, When Min Kyu's parents died, Yoo Cheol's dad tried to trick Min Kyu to sign a paper to transfer the full ownership of KM Financial company to him. He made Yoo Cheol present papers to Min Kyu as if they were adoption papers so that Yoo Chul and Min Kyu can live together as brothers.

However, Min Kyu realized the scheme after overhearing father and son talking about their plan and he did not sign the papers. Instead of signing, Min-Kyu wrote "You son of a bitch". This incident creates in Min-Kyu an intense distrust of people and he acquires a very rare and dangerous allergy to touching any human being. It is an allergy that world famous psychiatrist Dr. Oh is studying on a small worldwide group of patients. So far, Dr. Oh has only succeeded in developing a drug against Min-Kyu’s violent allergy attacks and a bracelet to monitor the potency of the allergy attack.

The driver of this drama is about who gains ownership of KM Financial. 15 years later, Hwang Yoo Chul's dad still wants to take away the ownership of KM Financial company from Min Kyu. President Hwang and other KM board members look at Min Kyu as someone who's unable to handle the company because of his rare human allergy. For his part to achieve control of KM Financial, Board member Yee Sing-Tae wants marry his talented business school educated daughter Yee Ri-el to Min-Kyu.

The center of the drama is the robotic research team named Santa Maria that is brilliantly led by Dr. Hong Baek-Kyoon with three other researchers. This Santa Maria robotic project was initially created as a special, personal project by Kim Min-Kyu’ father. To insure maximum secrecy Kim Min-Kyu’s father installed the Santa Maria laboratory on his private property where Mi-Kyu now lives alone away from people as the sole, surviving occupant of the huge mansion. Only, Butler Sung who really liked Min-Kyu’s father still lives on the property in his own apartment. Sung is always ready to help and comfort Min-Kyu whom he knew as a little boy.

Until his death, Chairman and owner Kim directed a large share of KM financial resources into the Santa Maria laboratory for the development of a series of revolutionary robots capable of interacting with humans and learn from them. The Santa Maria team has actually spent all its time and resources on revolutionary interactive robot “Aji 3” (AG-3). Dr. Hong has given the physical features of his former girlfriend Jo Ji-Ha who broke up with him.

Jo Ji-Ah who is now very poor, struggles to make a living by creating all kinds of startup companies that constantly fail and doing all kinds of odd jobs under the derisive nickname of “CEO Jo”. Ji-Ah lives in the apartment of his married elder brother JO Jin-Bae who is a corporate lawyer.

Min Kyu decides to test robot AG-3 and asks the Santa Maria team to bring it to his house in order to see if “Aji 3” really works well in its interactions with humans.  However, AG-3 is temporarily out of order. Because AG-3 has the physical features of Jo Ji-Ah who is broke, Dr. Hong offers her a very large sum of money to pretend that she is robot AG-3. The fraud works. Jo Ji-Ah performs so well that Min-Kyu falls in love with “robot AG-3”. Because he totally trusts AG-3, Min-Kyu’s allergy is cured – or so it seems. In interacting with Min-Kyu, Ji-ah also falls in love for Min-Kyu.

Hwang Yoo Chul’s father still wants to achieve total control of KM financial and has managed to place his son Yoo-Cheol as director general of KM Financial. He also want to recover the large volume of resources spent on the Santa Maria project that is of no interest to him. Meanwhile, Min Kyu forces Yoo Chul to resign from his director’s position.

Both Yoo-Cheul’s father and other KM board members agree to sell the Santa Maria laboratories to Dr. Martin, head of a hard-bargaining British private investment group who plan to use Santa Maria robots for military uses. This will be a way for KM financial to recover resources for other projects because the KM board members are not interested in robots. Initially, they are not aware of the extraordinary abilities of AG-3.

Because Min Kyu lied to Yoo-Cheol about playing any part in the Santa Maria team and also forced his childhood friend Yoo-Cheol to resign from KM financial, Yoo Chul is mad. With his father’s help, Yoo-Cheul is trying to get revenge by stealing the Santa Maria robot and to replace him as CEO of KM .

A second important person who wants to control KM Financial is board member (?) Yee Sung-Tae who plans to marry his very bright, tough and now well-educated daughter Yee Ri-El to Min-Kyu regardless of her own feelings. For 15 years, Yee Sung-Tae has sent birthday cards in his daughter’s name without her knowledge to lonely Min-Kyu who has developed an attachment for Ri-El and agrees to date her.

Look at the way she cries. Look so natural. So many actress cries here and there, in drama these and those, but I didn't feel anything. It's different when Chae soo bin cries, she drags me come into the story deeply.

As ji A and as AJ3, chae soo bin so adorable. And she makes me worry about AJ3 I worry bunch of people gonna hurt her T.T....so so adorable and smart robot

Seung ho, this is the first time I really like his role in a drama. I know he is a great actor from his past dramas, but only in this drama I really like his character and dialoque. Great job!

Actually, the episodes from the past couple of weeks have been really emotional. Especially the episode when AJi-3 gets “reset”. Don’t know why ratings aren’t up in the stratosphere, but those not watching this drama are missing one of the best dramas of 2017/2018.

His parents died when he was little, leaving him to own the company by himself. Although his dad was chairman, there was a President of the company which is Min Kyu's best friend, Hwang Yoo Chul, dad. When Min Kyu's parents died, Yoo Chul's dad tried to get Min Kyu to sign a lease paper to give the ownership of the company to him. Min Kyu realized after overhearing them talking about it and did not sign the papers instead wrote "You son of a bitch". Yoo Chul tricked Min Kyu into thinking they were adoption papers so that Yoo Chul and Min Kyu can live together as brothers. So the whole business is that Yoo Chul's dad is still wanting to get ownership of the company from Min Kyu since they see Min Kyu as someone who's unable to handle the company because of his human allergy.

However, the whole drama with the different teams, aka, Santa Maria and etc...I don't really know. Probably the fact that, a lot of money was put into the Santa Maria team for development of something, however, they spent it all on Aji 3, hence, Min Kyu became the test subject to see if Aji 3 really worked well. Yoo Chul was curious about where all this money was probably going to and what Santa Maria team is up to that made Min Kyu get Yoo Chul to resign while he was gone. I guess because Min Kyu lied about not having any part in the Santa Maria team that is making Yoo Chul mad and trying to get revenge back to become Chairman. But then again, I don't really know. Everytime I try to pay attention to the business story of the drama, it's kind of everywhere lol

chikky Jan 15 2018 5:55 am Gawd 2017 kdramas was blaah for me except for just a few which I can list on one hand (5 or even less) but this drama dives into what relationship is... he isn't really allergic to humans but he is allergic to betrayal by humans. It's a sweet, funny and it'll get u in tears. Honestly I initially wasn't interested in the drama cuz it felt cheesy and I was like what could dey do about robots that we haven't seen or heard. Chae soo bin, yoo seung hoo, uhm ki joon Gawd I love them. The emotion put into this drama is amazing... kudos to them. It's interesting that such marvelous drama is highly underrated.

Sometimes it’s predictable what will happen, but even the predictable things are executed to the point that if it’s sad, it’ll get you sad. And the later half of this manga really showed me how much a relationship can affect someone alright. I just hope this ends with a lot of good and happy scenes. I can already imagine what scenes awaits.

There were scenes that were already expected such as the locked up scene, but the chemistry of the two leads still make such scenes worth watching. I hope after this episode, Min Kyu would choose to trust Ji A again.

Arihant Jan 12 2018 8:17 pm Truly awesome show!One of the more unique romcoms out here.Chae Soo Bin - When in Aji3 mode- is superb.She is playing a dual role here and is able to present 2 different characters easily.YSH is awesome as expected but the role requires very less dramatics from him-one of his main strengths. A very beautifully shot show which gives you a warm fuzzy feeling even in its toughest moments.

Ratings being low is an unfortunate issue of timeline and competing shows-still looks like there are a lot of international fans. Am sure this will pick up a more larger following as more and more people know about this.

Love them in this drama so much that I cannot watch any other drama as the feeling is not so strong. Really I have to watch 2 times for each episode. First time to read the subtitle, 2nd time is to look at only their expression and to abandon myself to my emotions; laughing, crying..... I also love the 2nd couple.

REMENBER: when his friend (Hwang Yoo Chae) was young he gave him the paper to sign and so he felt betrayed by his best friend so he couldn’t trust anymore!!!!! The female lead character distinguished herself as a robot and since the main male lead believed it to be a robot (that basically means he didn’t think of her as a human and he trusted her to be a robot) I KNOW I DONT MAKE SENSE!!!!:)

I thought this was going to be a cheesy-slash-trying-too-hard scifi but it's actually perfectly executed and the characters are so funny and lovable. Also after meeting with Hwang Yoo-Cheol, Dr. Hong Baek Gyun notices a man and woman walking on the street talking to each other. I believe it is the gardener talking to Madame X? The one who warned Kim Min-Kyu not to sign anything when he was little.

Korean dramas like "I am not a robot" which has a unique plot with a romance as it's genre should be watched with high ratings and be loved by many people because it is a great drama. I feel sad and disappointed for Korean netizens who doesn't appreciate this drama. How I wish that they will also air Korean dramas for International fans who cherish Korean dramas a lot like me.

At episode 18 when he attempts to reset memories from Jo Ji-A you can clearly see her skin wet and eye tearing. That moment he should have doubted and said anything, lets wait for ep. 19 and 20 today hope it gets better.

It always appears in every episode, and it seems like it focusses more on them rather than Jo Ji A and Kim Min Kyu (Not being so picky on their romance but I think it's the other reason why the rating is low). But, I"ll try to understand the plot of the story if that's how the director made this story. 7/10 ⭐⭐⭐

The key here is that his allergic reaction kicks in whenever he touches another "human". Since he doesn't think of Jo Jia as a human, his allergic reaction didn't kick in as his mind doesn't have to protect itself from another human.

YSH actor performs his feeling so true that it touchs your heart and makes you understand his thoughts and lonelyness. I just do not care about the rating. It should be only Korea rating. The international viewers should be higher. It is like drama W. Whenever the concept is unusual, people prejudge. People should just give a try for this drama. I went in for the 3 leads actors. When such excellent actors accepted the drama, it means that the drama is worthy to performs. In addition to this thought, they performed so well that you can cry and laugh at the same time. YSH is so cute and so good n acting. CSB also becomes on of my favorite and Uhm KJ does not have to prove his level of acting. Strongly strongly recommended. Otherwise it should be a lost for you!

Yoo Seung Ho is a BRILLIANT actor! and so HANDSOME <3 Hope for the best. I hope the ratings will reach the top level. And honestly speaking after I saw the low ratings of ‘Moon Lovers Scarlet Heart Ryeo’ I lost my interest and belief from Korean ratings. and not only Moon Lovers, There are many amazing dramas those doesn’t have exact ratings what they deserved. So now I really don’t care about the ratings. I just hope this drama can touch fan’s heart <3 and I just HOPE the amazing cast and Yoo Seung Ho will not be sad for the ratings :(

Safira Dec 16 2017 7:56 am @Shukty about the kissing scene i don't know but let's hope they're giving us more sweet moments between the leads. they actually super adorable and funny without trying too hard. and even though it has 32 episodes, they make it 2 episodes per day which is normally only 1 episode. so it's like 16 episodes and as far as i know 16 means "miniseries" in k-drama. i hope it helps.

Seriously!!!!??? :’( But it’s a Romantic Comedy drama right!? And it has 32 Episode!! How can a Romantic drama has only one kissing scene? I want to die :’( I was so happy that my Yoo Seung Ho is finally doing a proper Romantic drama! But what I got :( I hope It’s not true! :( And ONE MORE QUESTION! In many interviews I have noticed that this drama was addressing as a “Miniseries” ! But why? It’s not a Miniseries right? It has 32 episodes. So how can it be a Miniseries?!!!? I need explanation! I Hope it’s not a Miniseries for god sake! :( and DAMN please I hope there will be several kissing scenes :(

That means by the time he finds out she is just a girl, he is already very adapted to her and also fallen in love with her that he won't react to anything anymore. Ratings doesn't really matter to me if I like a show.

The real robot was playing the role well (that is still Chae Soo-Bin )This drama is progressing well and I love it. @Raj Navarro there are so many dramas you haven't seen that are amazing too and all the dramas you've mentioned are truly nice ones and I so much love them. Give others a try.

Because if I'll be honest, this is one of the most beautiful K-Dramas out there and its plot can't even be compared to the rest of the overrated K-Dramas we all have watched before. Its ratings should be way higher than what it's getting. I am not a big fan of K-dramas unless they're that type that gives me something to look forward to. Few of the K-Dramas I've become a big fan of was Winter Sonata, My Girlfriend is a Gumiho, Pinocchio, Goblin and Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo. This is just too good, and I can't wait for the 20th to come.

Djunchan Dec 15 2017 7:35 am I am not sure yet why his allergy is not triggered but when she held her hand in hers when they were on the floor, they show a windcharm kind of thing near a window which they do in asian movies to indicate something magical or destined just happened. I wonder how they are gona explain that. I am just assuming that it cannot be just because he doesnt "know" since hopefully they will end up together as 2 humans at the end of the series..perhaps the magic is that he already fell in love with her and that affection triggered a change inside of him...

He's not allergic to the "robot" because he doesn't see her as a human. Humans hurt him in his past so his mind conjured up an illnesses to protect him from them and gives him a reason to be isolated from them. Unless the witch thing has something to do with it! ?

He didn't recognize the robot as president Jo because wen they first met , she was wearing helmet which was covering her face, and she Neva took it off through out their conversation. So he didn't see her face at all, that's why he couldn't tell if they resemble or not. He Neva really cared to see her face after all, considering the fact that he was even trying to avoid any physical or eye contact with her

2. He couldn't tell she was human because he already saw her robotic features wen he went to check out the robot, and she proved to him she wasn't human, and doctor hong convinced him that the robot can act as human. Mr Kim had no reason to doubt that the robot was human. He is not aware that there is someone who looks just like the robot he saw the other day

3. Am also not clear on why he could touch Aji 3 (human) without getting any skin reaction, but wen she first touched him through the window of his car wen she went to deliver his product, his skin reacted. And we are talking about the same girl. But I think she is the only person that can touch him for now.dats why he needs her close to him, always calling her to come over. I think he's bored staying alone.

4. I think he dated his ex-girlfriend wen he had no allergies, now dat she is back, he can't even go near her, and she is talking about marriage? She must be kidding. Its now chea soo bin all the way

Having hard time in relationship, for family n friend n romance too. Quite did not believe it coz no pics, but thought it would b a good story for drama or movie. Then this drama comes, so far watched its 4 episodes, decided to stick till d last ep. Both main leads' acting are great, so do other casts

They key here is that his allergic reaction kicks in whenever he touches another "human". Since he doesn't think of Jo Jia as a human, his allergic reaction didn't kick in as his mind doesn't have to protect itself from another human.

One episode is about 35 minutes each so 2 episodes make up about 1 hour. 32 divided by 2 is 16 so there are 16 episodes in total. I know. It's confusing but for some reasom they changed it. @Loli wow. You're actually right. As a fan of an actor you should present yourself in a mature and humble manner because you reflect them.

He's one of the few actors in Korea who can believably and flawlessly deliver his role. Like I seriously have never seen an actor cry so well and make me feel all his emotions like he does. Tbh he would surpass all your faves in his sleep if he wanted. Smh

The only thing I have a problem with is the fact that he always ends up working with leading ladies who aren't on the same wavelength. He's a veteran actor even though he's really young, he started acting when he was little so he is really experienced and skilled, he deserves better. Kim so hyun was one of the better pairings but the writers messed it up when they wrote her character. Park Min Young was his best pairing but it went downhill from there... But regardless of all of this. He's humble so he still goes for projects with inexperienced actresses when he can easily reject. Props to him.

These Korean broadcasting stations started this layout not to long ago for some reason. But as long as I get my 2 full episodes a week I'm good. I'm so excited for this drama because I'm a huge fan of Yoo Seung Ho and I have so much respect for him as an actor. I'm not too fond of this actress even tho I think she pulls off antagonist characters well like in Sassy Go Go, I didnt really feel she pulls off a protagonist role well. I'm curious to see how they're gonna make it look almost logical and acceptable. And I can't wait to see YSH in a comedy again. To me, I've usually seen him play pitiful, emotional characters. Like Yeo Un, Kang Hyung Joon, Seo Jin Woo...

I doubt she can play a fake robot very well. I love Kim So Hyun but she did a terrible job next to him in their last drama and she’s actually extremely talented so that’s saying a lot. He needs someone better to match his skills.

I Know, thats so shocking) So you’re basically telling her not to do her job. They offer her the role for a reason. If she was a shit actress, I hardly doubt that they would cast her as a lead.

And I know you have your favourite actresses, trust me, they’re going to get a lead role in the future and they’ll hopefully be amazing at it. For those babbling on about Kim So Hyun and Yoo Seung Ho, I know you have your favourite ships and stuff but you shouldn’t put down another person just to praise them and get what you want. If you’re really persistent on having them in a drama together then direct and write your own drama.

I will admit that I watch dramas sometimes based on the cast but at the end of the day, dramas aren’t all about the cast. Dramas are about bringing a story to life. Even if we start watching for the cast, we continue watching because the plot is good and we find it intriguing. You wouldn’t continue watching if it was just your favourites reading out the lines of a horrible script in a monotonous voice. Actually watch a bit of the drama first before determining if it is horrible. Don’t decide if it’s bad based on the cast.

My rant is now over. Be nice. I’m looking forward to this drama, sounds like it’ll be good.
