Cha Hong-Do (Choi Gang-Hee) suffers from social phobia and has a problem with severe blushing. She does have a strong sense of curiosity and learns from books and the internet. One day, Cha Hong-Do's grandmother dies. Her grandmother was her only contact to the outside world. Cha Hong-Do then begins doing housework as a maid, but disguises herself as an elderly woman. Through an incident, she meets a psychiatrist, Ko Yi-Seok.

His rude, agressive and extremely unprofessional behaviour (he's supposed to be a doctor FFS) grated on me. I just didn't enjoy watching him continually persecute the FL.

The main lead guy was waaaaaay too much fun to watch especially with his biting technique. The climate was when the main lead guy jumped on the culprit and bite off his nose to save the main lead girl at the police station. I just couldn’t stop laughing. The last episode was stretched unnecessarily to fill up the time slot. In all, it is the best drama ever,

Highly recommended for those who can lol.

I agree with Rawan’s comments as per the pairing of the second main leads.

Rawan Aug 25 2020 4:00 am This was a good drama. It brought me out of my kdrama slump for a few reasons.

1. The chemistry between the leads was amazing. The scenes didn't feel forced or awkward and their interactions throughout the show portrayed big character developments on both sides.

2. Consistent plot. Nothing is more annoying than a plot that doesn't make sense or one that is muddled or messy. That wasn't the case here. Everything flowed smoothly and I just loved the flow between each episode. It was addictive.

3. Jung-Myung really outdid himself here. His character was so fun to watch. He was a mix of macho, cold, hilarious and jealous all in one. A little crazy but it was comedic.

One thing that sucked though was how the writers just paired off the second lead with Ko Yi Suk's sister. I mean seriously? There was really no chemistry between the second lead couple and they didn't suit at all. Why would a detective like a silly, little young wannabe actress who follows him around. They should have shown her development through the detective's rejection of her.

All in all, at least everyone had a happy ending. If you want something light but interesting enough to keep you occupied, I REALLY recommend this. It was truly one of the only Korean dramas that made me laugh out loud multiple times.

CKW Nov 22 2018 12:00 pm This is one of those drama which gets better by the episode even though it starts off slow. I really liked how the relationship between the two main leads developed, even though there were unnecessary drama at the end. The highlight of the show was the actors though. Especially Chun Jung Myung. I loved the nuances in the relationship between his and Choi Gang Hee's character.

A lot of people had problems with his character. It's rational to not like someone who is so callous and insensitive to everyone around him. But as the show moves forward his character undergoes a lot of development. In contrast Lee Jae Yoon's character falls of flat and stays the same from the start till end. Another thing I liked about the Yi Seok-Hong Do relationship was the dynamic it had. It was far more realistic and comfortable to watch than the fumbling awkward interactions between Hong Do and Doo Soo. Hong Do was just all the more natural and "herself" with Yi Seok even when she didn't held any affection for him at the beginning. Whereas with Doo Soo, she was always striving to be ideal.

DW Nov 19 2018 6:37 am To everyone who has a problem with the "hyperactiveness" of Yi Seok's character I'd like to point out that his mother has bipolar disorder and he has noted that he might be bipolar as well in the 2nd episode. So it's writing consistency. I love it actually that his character is like that, it gives nuances to the writing and gives his character kaleidoscopic colours making him much more interesting.

dreamer Nov 09 2018 9:40 am i started watching the drama after reading the plot synopsis it seems interesting and something that was never done before(acting as a granny instead of a boy) but as i started watching i realised it has nothing to do with her acting as a granny the story is far beyond that.

the most thing i loved about the drama was the cute scenes and the chemestry between the leads; i've been watching dramas since 2009 and i've been reading comments about dramas befor and after watching them and every comment would keep talking about the chemistry between the leads (good or bad) but i've never paid attention to that for me a good drama is made based on 3 things (cast, story and length) but this drama was an exception i just felt weird while watching it i was super excited when ever there was a scene between the leads all i wanted to see was the interaction between them and by the end i liked the chemistry between the second leads as well

over all this drama is special to me cause after all my experience in k-dramas this one presented something new i don't know what exactly( i could say the end of the forth episode is one of the reasons ;* ) but it was great

PS: i like simple stories like this one (life is easy if you want something you go for it)

D Sep 22 2018 8:50 pm It was hard to watch in the beginning because I really didn’t like the guy and the girl was kind of too frumpy/freaky. However, after a lot of fast forwarding till episode 3, it got to be pretty interesting. It’s weird to see a psychiatrist who is completely uninterested in his patients. Why even bother? I felt bad for the cop at the end because he had to be paired off with the sister. I just didn’t like her at all. She like him because he carried her home from being drunk. Really? Just not realistic and she was annoying the whole time.

Sunny Mar 24 2017 9:19 pm I watched this drama up to episode 9 or 10. I completely forgot. Honestly, I continued up to those episodes because I completely adored Lee Jae Yoon's character. Yes, I was suffering from second lead syndrome because he was just an adorable and overall nice guy while Chun Jung Myung's character was simply unlikable. I also couldn't bring myself to support the two leading characters' relationship either. I didn't like how it was built. I didn't like how they handled Cha Hong Do's (Choi Kang Hee) phobia either. It was all pretty disturbing to me because I just found it wrong.

ayanosuke01 Jan 21 2017 6:28 am Overall, I rate this drama 7/10 ...Not exactly a must-see, but not a complete waste of time either. What I really love about it are the main leads-- they're not perfect but I found them to be quite sensible and mature. And the acting by Chun Jung-Myung, and specially Choi Kang-Hee, Wow! I've been watching kdramas for over a decade and sometimes consider myself to be "immune" with sad scenes but the performances by both leads had me literally reaching out for a box of tissue! Choi Kang Hee's rendition of the character is very relatable, I love it! (For those complaining about the actress' age, I'm not sure how good-looking you guys are, but I could only hope that I can look as good as her when I reach her age). The story itself is not very special and full of kdrama cliches but there's something about the characters that make it a unique and refreshing drama. As with most kdramas, most of the characters are likeable, except for the unreasonable elders. The series has its share of drama but overall, it's a feel-good story :D

I love all Choi Gang Hee's drama. I love her since my 'CGH' first drama titled Rules of Love with Kim Min Jong? Auuu, that was very touched! She probably is not as pretty as Korean Goddess Kim Tae Hee, BUT Choi Gang Hee is doing very good in stealing one's heart...

An Grant Oct 29 2016 3:14 pm I love this drama. The cast is very good and the lead actors keep your attention. I like the story line because it is so different from the usual dramas. Cha Hong-Do came out of hiding and caught three eligible men, all of whom weren't even looking for a woman. All she wanted to do was free herself from the chains of her illness. I like how all the characters evolved and became healthier mentally, not just Cha Hong-Do.

The Director did a great job casting them, they were perfect for their respective roles. Of all the dramas that involved couple relationships, this has got to be the best with the leads bringing the story to live with their superb acting skills, the vibes that they emitted throughout the drama and the chemistry between them, wow, made every scene that they were in so real and not reel. Got to catch this drama if you haven't done so :-)!!

I really like the lead actress and she delivered an astounding performance herself, but ick ick ick (probably because I work in healthcare with mentally/emotionally vulnerable people, the majority of whom have suffered some sort of abuse, be it physical or psychological, from family/teachers/preachers etc-their most trusted people) I was really uncomfortable with the extreme breaking of boundaries. The doctor is, simply put, a creep who should lose his license but I guess in laladramaland it doesn't matter how bad this is for painting mental healthcare as this warped field where it's fine to commit near-assault with patients who panic... it is NOT how you deal with agoraphobia properly. I guess, unlike the USA, they don't have to (Madame Antoine further made this clear) get their materials, things that could be severe triggers or worse make patients think abusive treatment, anti-therapy to put it lightly, is okay or worse...helpful...they don't have to get it cleared by consultants from hospitals etc (or if they are they must just sign off, take the $ and move on without actual concern for whether it's appropriate. Making a love story out of something that 1=license revoking behavior from therapists [this love relationship with your doc=no no no never ever is that okay! BOUNDARIES, people!] and 2=related, does actual harm to patients in this real world out here. Just sprinkle some codependency in like it's basil or sea salt. It's more like acetic acid. Anyway, it sadly-because of writers who made the doc a full blown perverse creep-made me really dislike Chun Jung Myung [what were his mom+dad thinking there, giving him a tongue twister name? Were they worried he couldn't remember enough characters in the alphabet?:P]...

AsianDramaPearls Apr 05 2016 5:04 pm This was a really good drama. I was never bored and every episode was more and more interesting to the very end (great ending by the way). Love the actors, love the story line--overall it was excellent. I would watch this again. I gave it a rating of 95.

PS I think Choi Kong-Hee (main actor) is very pretty and a really good actress!

PPS Saying "ugly" in this drama became the same as saying "pretty" -- just like today's generation says something is "bad" when the actual meaning is "good."

And that love scene in episode 4 or 5? Daebak! The sweetest love scene I've ever watched in entire Kdramaland. Kissing the back of the girl upon waking up? Wow! I will die of happiness if my future partner will do that to me, it's so sweet!!!! Instead of feeling that that scene is made from lust, but no, I really felt LOVE there. HAHA Watch it guys, it's worth watching! Though I'm just in episode 10 right now.

ugly duckling Aug 26 2015 10:48 am I just saw someone recommend this drama and i thought id give it a shot since the plot seemed to me as similar to flower boy next door, which i really liked. The downside for me was that they have gone to such extent to make the female lead look really really REALLY ugly that its hard to comprehend how the super good-looking-guy-who-can-have-any-girl-in the-world fall for her. But i got pass thru that and boy oh boy. The plot twist towards the end just caught me offguard. Nice romcom, great acting, and very good plot twist that made this drama very engaging, marathon-worthy.

I really like Idol dramas since that they are the ones that brought me to the Korean Industry. But I have to say that this is the difference between a veteran and an Idol. I liked Chun Jung-Myung since Cinderella stepsister but after that I didn't watch any of his drama and he got me here again. Great drama and definitely 10 stars!!

Bebang Apr 10 2015 9:27 pm This is a good drama. It has 16 episode more or less 1hour per episode. The story and the acting is so nice, It only took me 1 and half days to finish it. If I dont work full time I could have finish it in just 16hours straight. Each episode has something going on where you'll go to the next one and realise it done and u wanna the other one.. Nice plot too.. Not heavy, a lot of funny moment.. Deep love..

I could go on and on but I won't. I can't wait to finish it. It's one of the best I've seen this year so far. I hope the two leads Choi Gang-hee and Chun Jung-myung win best couple/best actor awards this year!!

I like her first when she play at Protect the Boss with jisung... Iam fan of that rascal character anyway. And Chun jun myung, I surprised that he could play childish too. ingukie Mar 26 2015 1:02 pm ommo, am I the only one who did not like the first 5 episode? the script and the characters for early stage of the drama was seemed off to me. I did'nt like the development from the lead characters. i'm nearly stop to watch the drama. something was not right.

BUT, I did finished the drama and i can feel the bonding and strong plot for the later part of the drama. The character is also develop well. the plot twist, is the best. i cant feel the sincerity in the lead characters.

The main actors had so much chemistry you fell in love with them and the romance that was nurtured and flourished. The writer did an excellent job and the ending was one that was memorable. As a parent of a child with some "issues" it is refreshing to see the importance of love in healing.

The love story is perfect~ It's very detailed that you'll understand why they are perfect to each other. I always cringe to their antics when they are together. More dramas like this will be great~ :)

The female lead and her psychiatrist/love interest are adorable. The detective she has a 7-year crush on is just plain hot even with the worst hair known to kdramaland! This drama has the funniest post-sex-regret flashback scenes I have witnessed in a long time!

They do not treat their patients this way in real life... But then again, this is drama. Lets just respect the writer's and director's ideas.... =)

And let me guess....in typical Korean drama fashion, this incredibly abusive ass will be the romantic object of desire of the poor woman he abuses. Wow, that's true love.

Episode 3 of Heart to Heart is so promising! and by the way, Grandpa is talking in English sometimes, lol! and Dong Ho has her part of English lines too, well she's a part time radio announcer in real life right? a good one:)

mmm Jan 13 2015 7:06 am seriously flower boy next door handled the subject so badly.. even if it similar, it's not the first time in k-drama we see the same subject being brought again and again. i think the execution so far is great. and this is tvn. they are never failing me. you should give it a shot.

I loved I hear your voice and masters sun, feel like this might have the warmth of IHYV and the thrill of masters sun. Hope it does:)

I am hoping that this drama soars through the roof. I really did miss Choi Kang hee on the screen. And suddenly I am already having second lead syndrome?! Lee Jae Yoon looks adorable.
