Plot

A war takes place between women who want to become the queen.

Kang Eun-Bo's (Jin Se-Yun) twin sister is murdered. To find out the who is responsible for her sister's death, Kang Eun-Bo decides to become the queen. She does not hesitate to take reckless actions in pursuit of her goal.

Lee Kyung (Kim Min-Kyu) is the king. He is handsome and intelligent. Lee Kyung has precognitive dreams about one woman. He becomes involved in an unexpected case.

jebs Mar 09 2023 4:17 am Thankfully, I didn't believe immediately in the negative comments here because I entirely watch this drama and I loved it, although the ending was rushed but the good thing is that the drama ended happily, unlike the other dramas who ended up annoying. The main couple are both underrated but they both cute together, actually after I watched this drama I feel like it's hard to ship them to others because their chemistry is really perfect. Overall this drama and the whole cast made me happy I love them..

Only downfall to me is the ending. i wish they would of shown her becoming the queen and moving back with him in the palace. Other then that this is one of my top favorite kdramas.

Da-Knee Nov 18 2022 8:50 am I love watching korean sageuk drama- tho mostly have a sad/cliffhanger ending. The story and the plot is a bit okay but it could have been better, I want Concubine Kim, Kings Mother and Deposed Jo to get demoted to slave and to die horribly like forcing them to drink a poison and by throwing their body in cold mountain (just like what they did to Eun-Gi ) and the evil ministers will get hang til death because they did horrible things and they deserved to meet their end in a devastated manner, and that I'll be okay with Eun-bo living away from King.

Overall it's 5.8 for me. Actually I stop watching this drama and I decided to finished it this time and I kind of regretting it now °^°

shinjin Sep 14 2022 8:48 am I can't even complete and I end up dropping the ongoing dramas this year, this is the dry season of k-drama for me but thankfully Queen: Love And War relieved my drought. This drama is worth to re-watch even many more times. Thanks to dear writer and director they made a right choice to hired both Minkyu and Seyeon for this drama because they are perfect couple.

They are really talented and adorable actors. They like a real couple because their chemistry is truly amazing, their sweetness is unmatched because they are very comfortable together, maybe we have different views or opinion in the drama we watch but don't immediately hesitate in negative or derogatory comments here, watch this drama first and the decision is still up to you whether you like it or not, we have own taste so for me this drama is truly brilliant and enjoyable, highly recommended!

This drama is utterly bad. Very cringe same level as American the cw series. I do like the male lead, but his acting looks so bland here no emotion or could we say wooden acting. The female lead I know her since doctor stranger, they do no justice to her role also. She keeps constipated expression like acting, it makes me cringe hard. Try to make comedy, but no work too. Watch until episode 6 then I'm done. Not recommend for you guys.

It is not a romcom so almost no funny cheesy moments for the couple but I really love the flow of the story. I really love the characters so still rewatch it when I dont have something to watch.

Her face hides her stubbornness and cleverness. The way she moves charms the king and the people who look at her. The reason why the other women jealous her envy all she got. Shes willing to sacrifice everything. The king shows intelligence and sternness of his character. He uphold his power and decide according to the truth. The eunech, palace ladies, Han Mo, Wal and the opposing highness were so good in their character. It was very realistic. It was a really great movie series. And longing for a part 2.

ninetyfourline Jan 17 2021 6:57 pm I like how the cast are around the same age. The main actor and actress are both 1994. Many other Kdrama couples have huge age gaps in real life, sometimes it looks awkward. I also didn't recognize one of the antagonist Kim Songyi is Yooyoung from Hello Venus.

GOOD DRAMA Jan 17 2021 6:36 pm This is one of my favorite historical drama. It's not too complicated. The male and female lead have good chemistry and their characters have genuine love for each other. The female lead character looks elegant and has quite a strong personality but she's always in danger. I like the scene where she slapped immediately back at one of the antagonist. Plot is good. Cast is good. Ending is good. It could have been better though. Overall, good drama. 'Queen: Love and War' is a better title than the literal translation of the Korean title.

She was excruciatingly stupid that if I were the villain in this story, I would've gotten rid of her on day 1 and this would have lasted for maybe a good 5 episodes. I also don't get why the actress' happy face, sad face, and angry face are the same.

Was surprised with the main lead though. Isn't this his first as lead? He did a good job in my opinion. The supporting casts are veterans when it comes to Joseon dramas but they're characters were also poorly written that they could only do so much as veteran actors.

She can't portrayed a smart and brave lady who is there for revenge. Kim Min Kyu's character is super annoying. A king who is living his life only for his first love, he don't do King's duties. He don't care anything but his girl. I don't find his charisma as a king. The story is good but the casts except veteran actors are really not fit in for their character.

Been a while I've seen a historical kdrama and this really impressed me.. The story line, the plot twists and the ending.. 10/10...100/100..it is an impressive drama.. I couldn't wait to watch the next episode and I definitely didn't want it to end soon.. I didn't get tired of it at all.. If there's a season two I'd b overjoyed.. Jin Se-yeon acting is still stiff and awkward just like her previous dramas. The story progression is slow and all characters seem so weak for a historical drama. I’m currently at epsd 9 and thinking whether to drop or continue watching.

I also like how the king decides. His decisions are wise. He doesnt let the ministers control him. I also wish there are more fighting scenes haha And the sword fight here are jot that good.. but the stroy is good i liked it.. so if youre looking for sauguk drama to watch, You should watch this!! I also wish the ending was a bit long..

Peterh Feb 11 2020 1:22 pm A generic drama with one dimensional villains and typical heroine whose purpose is to hook up with a rich monarch (again). what made me drop it in disgust however is the main female lead who dropped seeking justice for her families death just so she can become a sloppy seconds concubine to a spineless king. Like it was your sisters husband now you are hooking up with, not to mention their relationship was founded on lies since the king thinks she was the original queen. And he spinelessly ordered the death of her father, how can you sleep with such a man who was both an ex of your deceased sister and caused the death of your father omg eww. Is she that horny that all reason and judgement is thrown out just so he he can sleep with him? of course their will many excusing such a dirty couple just because it it sooo very romantic.LMAO i hope the real ending will be the prince dream is realized and a pseudo democracy is instituted with a better king for the people, and not a selfish one who only protects what is important to him even at the expense of innocent people. however if you are chic who has Cinderella complex you will enjoy this show.

Dawn Feb 04 2020 11:47 am I agree, a lot of viewers not from Korea watching. I watched one episode with English subtitles and I was hooked. I generally don't watch shows with subtitles. I like shows like "Game of Thrones" and "The Umbrella Academy". Although this series is not at the level of "Game of Thrones", I do actually like it. You should consider making a series similar to this but at the level of "Game of Thrones" and release it internationally.

Fighting..the rate should be higher than what we are expecting. Plenty of viewers not frm Korea. We support tthis thanks to the director and its casts. Recommended yo air internationally.

fairyxhin Feb 01 2020 12:37 am I love Jin Se Yun a.k.a Kang Eun Bo, she's one of the reason that's why I can already watched this historical drama, I can't see that this role was fit for other actress, coz this character was only suits to her, I think if she's not the female lead here, maybe I won't have to try to watched this drama, thankfully the PD-nim for this historical drama and also Jin Se Yun's previously director was choosing JSY again for this drama, it's a great honor and I'm glad to see that their reunites was become successful, Congrats! for lovely Jin Se Yun.....

I didn't remove my eyes as I watched it. I like the story not boring. So great!!! We watch this here in our country, everybody loves this. I've search the full episodes and watched episodes 1-10 in just two days between my hectic schedule at work! I can't wait for the episode 11. Amazing! I really love the actors & actresses as well they really did well! The plot of the story is amazing. Credits also to the Director, writer and all the staff behind this drama. Big Thumbs Up! I noticed that all JSY's historical drama were top and highest rating, it proves that she was love of k-viewers in this kind of genre, Congratulations! for seyun on her best effort and determination in her work, she's really deserving actress in her generation, she was pretty and talented.

Personally, this drama definitely stood out and one of the best historical drama that I've ever watch. Jin Seyeon's character is really great. I love strong and smart female lead. Kim Minkyu also contributed a lot in this drama. He is an eye-candy. Their chemistry is lit so far. The plot also is interesting and I love the direction of the drama. It's not messy. Good job!!

mao Jan 10 2020 12:09 am to all sageuk drama that JSY did, I like her character in The Flower in Prison and for this drama, I love stronger character for the lead female and I'm glad to see that she was badass and fighter here just like her character as Ok- Nyeo in TFIP, JSY was really a sageuk baby, she was really shine for this kind of genre, but hope I can see her in romcom again, she did a great job in web-drama name "High End Crush" she had a charming too in romcom, she was so cute, adorable and beautiful, I hope JSY was continously shine for this year, she deserves to be successful as always.

Hope for the completely success of this excellent sageuk drama.

diamond_fairy Nov 20 2019 1:37 am from the 1st and 2nd teaser, this sageuk drama was looks great, the chemistry of the cast were nice, Se Yeon as the female lead was really beautiful and pretty fit in her character, I love her face, she's true epitome of beauty, plus KMK looks handome as a king, finally Se Yeon found a right partner in this drama, her chemistry with KMK looks good, I think I'm shipping them, they both beautiful team-up :-) :-)
