Plot

Eun Dan-O (Kim Hye-Yoon) is a student at a prestigious high school. Her family is wealthy, but Eun Dan-O has a heart disease. Her fiance Baek Kyung (Lee Jae-Wook) attends the same prestigious high school. She likes him a lot, but he does not like her at all. Suddenly, Eun Dan-O has short-term memory loss and she can see what will happen in the near future. She gets confused by her symptoms. Then, Jinmiche, from the school cafeteria, tells Eun Dan-O that she is a character in the comic "Secret" like everybody else there. Eun Dan-O learns that her character is not even a main character, but rather an extra and she doesn't have much time to live. Eun Dan-O is stunned, but she decides she wants to find her own true first love and not someone written by the comic writer. One day, she falls down the school stairs. She feels her back touch the back of another student, among a group of male students. Her heart suddenly starts to flutter. Eun Dan-O wants to find the male student who made her heart flutter. She eventually finds the student (Ro Woon) and he is her classmate. He is a character that doesn't have a name. They get close and Eun Dan-O names him "Ha-Roo."

Mine Jan 18 2023 8:08 am I just try to watched this though I’m not into a cheesy and romantic highschooler. It’s a typical highschool lovestory, I didnt able to finish this as it became boring on the later part of the episodes. The female lead is also not that charismatic and just an average beauty, not really my type.

He loves the girl but always ends up hurting her just because that is how he is written. My favorite part in the entire story is when he finally realized his own feelings and tried to go against his "destiny" in the story. He deserves better. ?

If you think that this show it is only for teenagers you should give it a try because I was thinking the same thing and I was pleasantly surprised.

billie Aug 15 2022 5:43 pm Hmm, first part is entertaining. Couldn't find the will to finish the later half even if i'm a fan of Lee Jaewook. Enjoyed his acting as Baek Kyung though, so different from his other roles. Such a chameleon! Kim Hyeyoon is a good actress too, knew about her since Sky Castle. Rowoon too. The other actors also did their job. I see a lot of talks about Season 2 for this show but i think that will be really difficult to have the same cast. Lee Jaewook and Kim Youngdae have gotten to the point in their careers where they get lead roles. I think it will be hard to get them back for supporting character roles. And also, I think the story will get repetitive. Better to have the drama as a good memory. I will try to finish this when I have nothing to watch. It's not that bad anyway. 7/10

[CONTAINS SPOILERS!] [The first 12 episodes are entertaining and interesting, but when the book "trumper creeper" got found out, the story became boring and very repetitive. But then, that's what the plot is, "secret" plot is slowly becoming "trumpet creeper" plot, which is why I understand why the scenes are very repetitive. Aside from that, it's very confusing to watch and I still don't get why Haru changed the scene on Kyung's proposal, he is being controlled when he's not even on stage, he changed the scene but it went back from the start]

[The cast, they're amazing and executed their role properly, my favorite trio, Dan-oh, Haru and Dohwa carried the series. Their friendship is gold but I wish they had more interactions. Speaking of interactions, when was the last time juda and dan-oh talked? every female lead have a female best friend, but in this, she doesn't have one. We can't consider saemi since she's not self-aware. I wish that juda or even namju had more interactions with the main character. Other than that, I liked how dohwa got good amount of scenes despite being 3rd/4th main male lead. The main couple is so cute too but the ending is unclear and I can't really tell if they end up together]

Overall, I love the series, it's stress-free and very fun to watch, I'm currently watching True Beauty and when I saw dan-oh and kyung, I already missed them. I recommend this is you want something refreshing, and especially if you're a fan of the cast like Hyeyoon, Rowoon or Youngdae etc

KST Jun 19 2022 12:09 pm I just finished watching this drama today. Actually at very beginning I was annoyed by the the story of this drama because it did not have any coherence at all. But after watching about many episodes I got used to the mood of the drama.Actually the story is about a comic book's story where the story is decided by the writer. I was really felt a bit confused because the story changes its' plot rapid when the page is turn on in to another scene. So that the drama has no order and a bit complex to understand. Anyway their acting was good. I was a little bit annoyed with the female lead actress's acting but any how managed to watch this because I like rowoon. Anyhow this drama is nice. Specially last 4 episodes are really Curious. So this drama will be nice to all who like to watch fantasy dramas.

It's pretty underrated but the plot was cliche and unique at the same time. I love it, I've been a k-drama fan for almost 15 years now. Trust me when I say this one will give you the biggest smile, may sometimes cringe, rest assured will give you butterflies in your damn stomach because the men in this drama are on ?

Hope there will be season 2 with the old cast, I think that this drama really really need season 2 beacause there are a lot of things in this are not clear, for example, in the end of the film, why Haru can remember Dan Oh and waiting for her under the tree, and about the lovers of the squid man, why the author let her in the comics in the end, her character does not help the work at all, another is about the squid man and Baekung's brother, why they can remember themselves in the previous story and the weird black hole. Hope that you can see my comment and making the season 2 although I know that this is a difficult wish to fulfill

I hesitated for sooo long to watch it but one day I just decided now was the time and I can’t even describe how flipping good it is. Love the concept, storyline but most of all the main female lead Eun Dan-O.

Usually I tend to like the male lead over female lead (Rowoon was great nothing there!) but Dan-o portrayed by Kim Hye-Yoon was just amaaazing. The first 5 ep are the best, the last 2 ep is a little weird but other than that it’s just a cute story. And the OST! Perfectioni

Plus, because in this drama they are all teenager, they all do what a normal teenager would do that from an adult perspective seems exaggerated. That's what a normal teenager would normally do but I can't stand to watch it lol

For others and romance drama lovers, that amount of romance may not be a problem. But to me, someone that has been out of highschool life for 10 years, this teenage drama doesn't suit me lol

anj Jun 10 2021 4:20 am Could have been a nice show. But unfortunately, each character has a grand total of like 3 dialogues that they repeat over and over like a broken record for sixteen damn hours. I ultimately felt like I'd gained nothing from the show.

I really wish the creators of the show had gotten a little crazy with it, cause it's a decent story, just felt like it could've been more exciting and condensed. Good music though.

You’ll see people who support Danharu (like me) but also people who loves Baekkyung for whatever reason they have. For me personally I love danoh so much for the way she try to fight for her love, especially after the realization that she isn’t the only one who knows they are characters written by a comic author and after she found someone who was willingly help her a.k.a Haru. I feel like Haru is what everyone needs in life who knows how it feels to fight for life alone. Therefore i don’t simply see this drama as a comedy-lovey dovey drama for teens since „a Haru“ can be found in real life as maybe a friend, parents, teacher, internet community, lawyer (of course they’ll help you professionally), school psychologist, psychologist, doctor, etc etc. Or maybe you’re a Haru who doesn’t why do you exist. You might find someone who can lead to a big adventure of knowing who you are and fighting for that. Fighting!

This drama is recommend if you're looking for a fantasy romance KDrama.

The chemistry between Dan-oh and Haru is insane! I couldn’t stop giggling when they’re on screen. But my heart aches for baek kyung, i just hope that he gets the happiness that he really needs.

A little spoiler: The beginning 14 episodes will be full with laughters, jokes and lovely scenes. But be prepared to bawl your eyes out in Episode 15 & 16. No lies, I cried so bad that my eyes were so puffyy Ahaha.

I knew hyeyoon from running man and i love her character in the episode and then i started watching sky castle because of her. Heol daebak, her acting is extremely impressive. I got angry when she's mad, my heart aches when she cries, and i smile when i see her cheerful side. She's the actress that can reach the viewers' hearts. After sky castle, i looked forward for her next project and months after that i saw a teaser of EoY. I waited eagerly for this drama and watched it right away when it aired. I fell in love with her chemistry with Rowoon and watched all the bts videos on youtube. I swear they have the best chemistry ever and i can feel that they're close friends in real life. But overall, the storyline is the most important thing that makes this drama different form other fantasy drama. Watch this with your heart and you can totally relate to it.

Olly Dec 22 2020 9:42 pm Thank God I watched True Beauty. Dan-Oh and Kyung shows up as cameo in episode 4 and I'm become curious with this drama. I tried watch episode 1 and got hooked. Dang! I never expected this drama this good (because of high school stuff and all). I finished the entire episode in two days in row and watch it again from episode 1. This drama low key diss all cheesy romance in smart and fun way imo, and I love it! I'm myself fans of that kind of drama. I think this drama will remain iconic like Reply series (1997&1988) in their own way. Dan-Oh character really suit Hye-Yoon and she's one of the kind of artist that doesn't make me cringe when they doing aegyo. She's really natural! And Rowoon as Haroo? Mind blown! I don't know he's idol if I'm not dig into his profile. All the casts too. Dang! There's no way I'm not falling in love class 7 and Lee Dohwa from class 8 along side with Jinmiche.I laugh, I cried, laugh again watching this drama. Really gem.

Has not experienced this feeling for a long time. Haru really made my heart flutter. Danoh is so cute. First time getting to know Rowoon and Kim Hye Yoon. Really like both of them. Their acting really great. Rowoon become my new bias. He was versatile in Extraordinary you. His gaze amazing. Can show a variety of feelings naturally.

I first didn't want it ongoing but when I saw one trailer I got interested...then after seeing 2 episodes I got hooked... what an great drama it was... a year after I'm rewatching it again...dan o and haru looks so great together their chemistry is mind-blowing...and each every actor did a phenomenal job... Ro woon made my heart flutter like crazy...I hope I see him and Kim hye yoon again in drama...

dit Sep 27 2020 11:53 am I've watched this about a year ago because of the unsub trailer, I didn't understand but started to interested when seeing dan-oh and do-hwa look like fighting in front of hospital wall. I like high school drama a lot but hard to found a good one except school 2015. So I don't have high expectation in this one. But after watched the first episode, I'm surprised that it has many rookie actors, handsome, tall, and also good at acting. I'm curious about who'll be the main lead I just cannot guess it properly:( I almost fall for nam-ju cause the way he look at danoh in the class make my heart flutters (later I know that ju-da is the one that he looking at hahaha I'm a bit sad). But my sadness just stand for a while cause surprisely there was another actor, that more handsome (in my opinion kkk) and more mysterious omo I really like him. Actually, 3 main leads has already make me happy, but it's 4? hahahah it's damn amazing, I like it so much. And then I found that it was a fantasy drama, I like it even more, with unpredictable plot, that they just a cartoon character and danoh was just extra kkkkk poor danoh but this what makes this became must watch drama. I love the mysterious haru and it unpredictable plot. I keep guessing along all episode since I watched it when it still on going. I love danharu chemistry and their 'behind the scene' even more. How can they be that sweet and cute and that was just acting:(( poor me who keep ship them until now:( It's almost a year but I still can't move on and still hoping their future project, even I know it almost impossible:(

Hyeyoon really brought the character Eun Dan Oh to life and was the main reason why this drama became more than another webtoon adaptation. She made Extraordinary You into something endearing and memorable.. I really like Eun Dan Oh, she’s pretty, bright, cute and adorable

I kind of put this off for awhile because the trailer didn't captivate me but maaan I'm so glad I decided to watch it during quarantine. I got obsessed with it and I really couldn't stop watching until the morning lol.

The story, the plot twists, and the cast is just TOO GOOD.

They Really Did Kyung Dirty. At first, I wasn't too keen with him but you really start to warm up once you realize his backstory. They made him a heartbreaking villain. It's too sad. ? Although I'm happy they gave him the "last" moments with Dan-O without an ego because he felt loved during that time. Ugh My Heart Still Broke. The second male lead syndrome is real with this one. I was rooting for him more than Ha-Roo ?

Even Joo-Da and Do-Hwa gave me feels!! I also really like how when they gave Joo-Da her ego, she really stepped up and didn't act like your typical damsel in distress. It kinda sucks for Nam-Joo who had zero clue as to what was going on tho lol.

He needed to be loved. The writer made him the monster people see him as. The writer gave him his tragic past and dysfunctional family. Poor Kyung... I only wish someone could comfort him. I cried when he cried. My heart hurt so much for him. I love you Kyung ♥ (His acting was incredible in this drama I hope to see more of him and as a male lead).

chanzu May 28 2020 2:01 am I just really like this drama, and the concept of stage and shadow makes it even more fun. there's a lot of hate to the main couple in the comments but I don't get most of it. I prefer a female-lead like dan-oh. Since the beginning she always made it clear that she does not like kyung, she stays true to herself and her feelings. Haru? He's just a highschool boy who's in love, of course he will do anything for Dan-oh. Dan oh and Haru is high-school couple that's deeply in love, and I think that's reasonable enough for them to always find a way to be together.

And baek-kyung? Y'all really love strong and abusive character huh? Shadow baek-kyung is good enough for me and I personally think that shadow baek-kyung too deserve happiness. But of course not with Dan-Oh.

One more thing. If you find yourself in danoh situation. Will you stay quite and do whatever the writer wants ? Because I don't. I'll do what she does. I'll try and change my fate

I started watching because I watched the trailer and felt like it was an interesting plot and also because Ro Woon was so handsome and also because it's a school drama hehe but then I came to love the drama so much. The plot was very interesting and made me want to continue watching. I also liked how fresh the scenes and the acting were. Some of the scenes were making fun of typical romance scenes and it was so refreshing to watch (like everyone in the shadow hating how Nam Ju talked, Baek-kyung cringing at A3 and Dan-O and Do Hwa being frustrated with her own character keke)

And I loved how all the cast were around the same age, was so fun watching all of them enjoying themselves and teasing each other in the behind the scenes.

And EY gave the opportunity for so many new faces to shine! Ro Woon is so handsome and loved Lee Jae Wook's bad boy look and Jung Gun Joo was seriously so cute

And KIM HYE YOON! I came to love her even more after seeing her performance in EY. I felt that her being an extra in EY really reflected her life story, seeing how she took on all the extra roles, before she was finally given the main character role :""") She's so humble and so bubbly (also her voice is so husky and cute), officially my favourite actress now and I really can't wait to see more of her works!

Also Rowoon and Kim Hye Yoon are too cute, I really love watching them interact kekeke EY has ended and they are still appearing in shows/ magazines together, can't wait for the Busted episode to come out so I can see them again!

in terms of the drama itself, i think that the concept is somewhat different but like a lot of other commenters i also think its quite similar to W and i've read this story-line many times in webtoons and mangas.

out of all the characters, i like baek kyung and do-hwa the most. i didn't really like nam-ju because of how he lowkey ditched his friends for a girl - who can't even stand up for herself.

I just wish that the almighty "WRITER" appear as a cameo but until the end there is no hint of him. I wish for season 2 but sometimes this kind of drama's has no chance having it. Always remember that you can't force someone to like you back, it's not that a good trait especially if you know that person likes someone else. I know ome peopleare angry for haru because he's fighting for dan-oh but can't you see it? they both like each other aand it's not a bad thing. And also even in the start dan-oh wants to change her fate. And haru is willing to do what she wants

And also it's not good to be selfish if you know that the person you like, likes someone else. You're hurting others because of it.

It made my heart flutter and ache during all the right moments. The second make lead was really good doing it's part, I absolutely hated him for what he did during Creeper and Secret but I'm glad his character improved. I loved the ending because it finally showed a world where the two of them could be together. I'm sad Lee Do-Hwa didn't get a happy ending though I'm glad Joo-da did what she had to do and that was to end up with Nam-Joo. Do-Hwa can still love a happily ever after but Nam-Joo, being a protagonist, needs the other protagonist and that's Joo-da. Absolutely loved Jung Gun-Joo! He made me fall so hard for his character and my heart ached everytime he had to witness Joo-da and Nam-Joo fall in love.

I actually thought it was aiming to be a full blown parody. And then it started feeling a lot like W. I'm only halfway, but i'm glad this drama is really standing up to its own. Nice to see some new faces, they all did a great job. Really disliked the Namju-Juda couple...got zero feels, and i didn't like Juda's 'weak and innocent' character at all. But Dan-Oh had such great acting and personality it made up for it all, and more. Can't wait to finish this drama!!

For viewers who are slow to catch up on the drama storyline, like me, it may be difficult to enjoy the story line at first. Over time, I understood everything. Many of the shooting details in this story are not focused. But it didn't change the story. The story is light but heavy to understand at first. Maybe it's because I also don't read manhwa comics. Finally, I recommend this story to those who love romance, high school and fantasy. By the way, I like the love line between Jinmiche & Soohyang a lot.

A lot of people felt sympathetic towards the second lead, but I can't stand men full of themselves who punches things when nervous, so Baek Kyung was not for me at all. At the beginning I thought Dan Oh a bit annoying but I started to understand and like her. I like the way the story flows, it's very light, there're the cheesy parts, but not in that typical irritating way.

I totally recommend this drama!

Haru and Dano started to annoy me little by little as the story went own. Honestly, Baek and Dano had better chemistry than the main lead. I wish they were the ones who ended up with each other.

You can't not wish Danoh to end up with him for he loves her wholeheatedly and only sees her. He doesn't even hesitate to help her even if it put him in danger. Obviously he is my favorite character. Rowoon surprised to be honest, didn't know he could act this well. I'm happy for him because he is originally an idol and he proved all those who had bias against idol-actors wrong. As for Dohwa, he was such an adoranle third-wheel. I liked him a lot. I did not like Baek Kyung, he was a real jerk. I couldn't bring myself to sympathize with him even when his backstory was revealed. Lee Jaewook did great job though, I salute him.

First episodes were drawing you in so well, it was a great introduction of the idea that characters are living in a comic book and can have their own ego and will to live a different life, hence changing the plotline. However, the world not well thought out enough, some things were a bit inconsistent and illogical and I had quite a few question about how this world actually works. The plotline is not especially interesting, rather weak, however, I was rather watching the drama due to it’s concept and I wanted to see more elaboration on it.

Actors were great, saw a bunch of new faces, Eun Dan-O’s (female protagonist’s) character was very cute, strong and determined, her acting very much reminded me of Park Bo Young from Strong Woman Do Bong Soon at time, it was very entertaining and bubbly.

To be honest with you, I totally hated the “main couple” in the comic book, I thought Namjoo was totally unworthy of Juda’s love and I was sincerely rooting for her to end up with Dohwa, who found his ego and was a truly loving and supportive to her. whatev’s not everything can have a happy ending.

Sometimes it got pretty cheesy with the life quotes, but overall a very pleasant experience for me :) How did you like it?

lee jae woo's acting in this was impecable, i really missed him!! hopefully he gets a main role next time and actually ends up with the girl sigh....love you!!!

Like seriously they have more chemistry unlike with haru who always just follows dan-o like a dog but I have to admit they are cute together but not when she's with baek kyung. They had so many scenes and history together especially in the scene where baek kyung gave her flowers when they were little until they grew up(and behind those flowers have special meaning). For me that's the sweetest and heart warming scene amd when baek kyung cried you can really feel the pain. But I have to admit he was kinda jerk in the beginning coz that's his character was supposed to be but I learned to understand the reason why he hates dan-o for being sick because of his mother but in the shadow he ended up falling in love with her.

Kim hyeyoon was too good especially when shifting her emotions on and off the stage and she's cute too. The bag scene was one of my favorite. It was the most heart fluttering moment ever. The way Rowoon looks at her and the way he smiles at her, was so so adorable!! Love this drama so much. Do watch it guys..especially for ROWOON!!

wow Feb 22 2020 9:40 am I didn't expect anything from this drama because I didn't know it was a webtoon, I didn't know the actors, and I just thought it would be a light high school setting drama. But this completely blew me away, the idea of a 'stage' and 'shadow' is such a fresh concept and this has now got to be added to my list of favourites! Every episode has meaning and is fast paced (it slowed a little around 2/3 in but still kept me on my toes), and the characters are so lovely. Eun Dan-o is so cute, Haru is like a puppy yet protects Dan-o with everything, and Gyung is a character we come to understand. But really all characters, ego or not, are so likeable. Highly recommend this drama!

Especially the actors. all 4 of them really look like they are coming out of manga. handsome face with very tall height. They are every guys dream wanna be and of course most girls dream to be too. So unrealistic that i hate it cause you would never found that kind of guy in real world. sad world. T.T anyway not just the actor, i actually really love hyeyoon acting in this and of course in the sky castle too. she is a very good actress. i hope to see her in more drama soon. and i love the idea of this drama. but i have to admit that I don't ship eun da oh with haru that much. Probably i don't ship eun dan-oh with anyone. and character i love the most would be dohwa and eun Dan-oh.

(1) I really like BaekKyung in the webtoon. The drama gave justice to the character. They really have chemistry. Interesting pair. (2) I also like Haru's character in the webtoon but the drama's Haru is very different. In the drama, he's like a dog that blindly follows DanOh wherever. I don't feel their chemistry. I don't like the drama's Haru.

I stopped watching this because I can't take that they push the love story of Haru and DanOh even though they don't have chemistry.

Anyway if you’re still thinking about whether or not you should watch this show, definitely give it a try. I even started reading the manga of this even though I don’t like mangas because the plot is sooo good!! ??

I've seen the title many times, only at the time when I actually read the summary that I realize it was that webcomic that I've read. However, I still took me a few months to actually have the courage to watch it, and although it was awkward for me at first I came to love it on its own. I always feel like that for every comic/novel that I've read turned into a live action. I really love the actors who played for this series, I'll remember it as well!

I have to say the beginning of this drama is very interesting to watch with the build up, but it falls down after ep 13 or so. There wasn’t a big climax at the end so it felt really slow. I love all the actors in here, they all seem to have chemistry with each other. I would still recommend this drama because it’s very cute !

Not really liking the first 2 episodes but since Haru appeared, the story become interesting. i love every Dan Oh and Haru scenes together. HyeYoon and RoWoon suit their characters very well and they make a super cute couple. Their chemistry is too good for a young school couple. It was beyond my expectation.

I went in with that expectation after reading the summary, but after someone recommended it to me saying 'just try it'. I did, and I regret nothing. It's a great drama and is worthy of watching.

But I agree with what others pointed out where the story became stale by the middle of it. I hated the past flashbacks, it was boring and skipped most of it. It was unneeded, for me.

The only notable actors for me here was of course, KHY (Dan-Oh), LJW (Kyung), and JGJ (Do Hwa). Ro Woon's acting was just so-so and average, due to that, their chemistry was almost non-existent for me. I felt more chemistry between KHY and LJW (<3).

Still a good, unique drama to watch, I will definitely miss Do Hwa's antics and the whole class. The cringy lines and the background music was really funny. Congratulations again!

All genres are here!!( Humor, Romance, Melo, fantasy, slice of life, horror, historical). Those genres that I love❤️ Every episodes are unpredictable and no dull moment!! The actors and actresses acted wonderfully and gave a great performance. I love how they act whenever there is a transition between the 'Stage' and 'Shadow' . All characters are just awesome!! Haru, Dan Oh, Dohwa, Baekyung, Juda, Namjoo, and even Saemi, Seocheol and others.. The best!. Of course, Trumpets Creepers made me cry a river but it was one of my fav in this drama.

I know Hyeyoon is a greattttt actress but I can't believe Rowoon act this well????❤️❤️❤️❤️ They look so good together. Their chemistry wahhh.. Anyways, I highly recommended this drama

svintw Dec 26 2019 8:22 pm i recently finished the manhwa and didnt even know there was a drama adaption. i must say after watching the first few episodes, the manhwa is much MUCH better. the lead in the drama lacks a lot of the emotions that the manhwa version has and its very hard to follow the drama plot wise (even though i know what happens). the drama fails to build up and explain the unique relationship between the characters and thats a major problem seeing that this a very important aspect in the manhwa!! if you were disappointed/confused with the drama i HIGHLY recommend reading the manhwa as you will understand what the drama directors were trying to do here and why its quite difficult to achieve, its honestly one of my favourites! p.s. the manhwa is 'july found by chance'.

I personally think the historical part was unnecessary, because nothing exciting happened there as well. It could've been better if the blackhole thingy was a portal to the world of the writer. They could've come out straight from the comic book and chased after whoever created them than that boring historical scene, really.

However, I really like Kim Hye Yoon's potrayal of Eun Dan Oh. She really made that character her own signature. I can't forget how cute and adorable she is in this series.

The rest of the cast are kinda normal. I like Na-eun, but her potrayal of Juda is kinda annoying though. I think she is a better actress when she did A-teen. For the male actors, all they have to do is to look cool ? and dandy though..

Nonetheless, it still ended well. I loved all the characters except one. I personally don't like Ju Da. I don't know, but her character's kinda annoying than those who bully her. There's this b*tch in her she couldn't channel out properly. So yeah...

Ro Woon has still a lot of rooms for improvement. There are times that his acting lacks emotion, but nevertheless, he's on his way to becoming a great actor if given more projects in the future honing his acting skills. :))

To those skeptical about this drama, please don't. Give it a try cause it's good.

Baek Kyung has a bad past, I'm sorry for him but that does NOT excuse his action towards Dan Oh since he's a total douchebag towards her from the get go. Having a bad past does not mean you've the right to be an ahole to everyone. Not to mention he only showed interest in her after Haru came into the picture. It's like he didn't want a toy until someone else wanted it. So toxic the relationship between those two were. It's insane how these girls are supporting them. A relationship like that will crumble in weeks if it was real life or worse end up in a bad case of domestic abuse with no end.

It's really good though that Dan Oh never took his BS and fought back whenever she could. A smart, strong heroine like her needs to place someone as toxic as him in place.

The story slowed down towards the end but that happens to all dramas and in my opinion, it ended so beautifully. I love endings that leaves me with lingering feelings of bittersweet happiness and nostalgia. Honestly the reason why I love watching Studio Ghibli movies and anime because it invokes similar feelings lol. & this drama's ending is one of them.

Amazing casts with great acting. Amazing cinematography and soundtrack. Amazing chemistry between the leads. They made the romance so believable and palpable. It's incredible seeing as how both of them are young rookies and it's their very first lead roles as well as having a loveline. But they made it so believable! I can't wait to watch their future works and hopefully they'll be able to reunite in a drama in the future.

It's honestly just a great show.

But their love story is too cruel for each other, both in 'Secret' and 'Trumpet Flower'. (credit: @ extraordinaryyou.mbc) In the new mahwa, Haru and Dan Oh is the super extra character that doesn't even have a name. So, the writer wouldn't pay any attention to them. There is no Kyung or Dan Oh's disease that will 'bother' them. Just two of them in the world that don't know they're exist. So finally their love have a happy end. Writer decide to not include Juda and Dohwa in new manhwa (they're 'asleep')

He killed her in the past and haru got the blame yet the writer makes her fall in love with kyung again. He did something terrible, i think it's his punishment by loving danoh back. The real victims here are danoh and haru, they try hard to be together but fail again and again. They deserve better. Overall it's one of the best drama this year, refreshing story and awesome cinematography

The characters are just repeating themselves and going in circles with no progress. I thought this drama was free of cliches, but it falls right into it.

I'm so annoyed by Baek Kyung's shadow. He is better on the stage. And he never learns anything. Do-hwa actor expressions are not natural and so cringing to watch. I'm getting tired of his low self esteem and be "Nam Joo is so cool." It's no wonder why he is second male lead in the comic!

The romance scene becoming more cringy. There are so many repetitive scene. Such as the scene where the dan oh was ending up at hospital. They just talk the same things about her heart. not to mention the scene at stage, I swear the comic writer really not creative with juda plot. Their relationship stuck at some point without any development. Haru getting more cringy. I supposed because they amp up the romance already at the beginning of series and fail to attract more sparks at later episodes. It’s they didn’t build the romance at all. All in all, I dropped this now, maybe waiting until its finished to skim it through.

The same happened to W, no offense to W fans. I remember being excited waiting for the next episodes, but now not anymore. The screen time between Danoh and Haru are too much, and while I try to understand that since they're the main characters, all those scenes where they're together are a little too cringy. Too repetitive to happen in cheesy high school K-dramas... at this point, their level of romance is almost as cringy as Namju's. If not, more. But then again... this is a K-drama, AFTER ALL, what do I expect...

All in all, I'll continue watching this because I'm in love with Lee Jaewook. If it weren't for him, I would've stopped watching. Dude's acting is superb, and I only watch this drama for his scenes...

AB c Nov 12 2019 5:08 am I swear this story getting boring and more boring after each episode. The actors are all portrayed their character perfectly. But not to that extent of another level. I don’t know why, but I really dislike haru character. I felt like he has no soul and tbh the chemistry between him and dan oh are good at first but kinda sizzle down after too much screen time. Ro Woon act was on point, but still not on another level as others actor. There are so many drama that should get more recognition out there, such as tale of nokdu, the chemistry on point. Catch the ghost, moon geunyoung acting a whole another level. This drama just a high school drama with repetitive plot and unneccesary romance scene but maybe people like due to all the pretty face in it.

Angel Nov 11 2019 5:40 am Everyone perfectly portrays their role. Dan Oh is superb. I‘ve never been a fangirl until I watched her and how cute she acts. Kyung is indeed great and effective in portraying his role. He gets on my nerves every time he gets mad. Do Ha, Ju Da and Nam Ju are cute. But I think the hardest role to play is Haru’s. It’s easy to act mad, annoyed, arrogant, cute and bubbly, but how are you going to capture viewers if you’re role is quite, calm but firm inside. Rowoon is doing a great job in portraying Haru. His facial expressions are not dull but full of emotions even if he is acting quiet. At the same time, he has captured many viewers, both by his charms and talent. This drama is bringing so much joy in me. Thank you everyone for making this ❤️❤️?

I think Kyung's little brother is actually the writer. He keeps saying things that implies he knows how the story will end "you will definietly get your happy ending" and "dont change anything". I think he was upset at Dan Oh and Haru for betraying Kyung in the first joseon story and turning it into a tragedy, so he gave Dan Oh a heart condition in order to control her more and scare her. He also removed Haru completely from the new story as a punishment and to make sure he and Dan Oh never met again.

I'm just curious about the historical story(past) and as to how the main lead, Haru, came to the new story and changes everything (also the black hole too). Also, at first Kyung says that he's gonna help Dan Oh but after Haru came back, he went back to being mean. Yeah, he's a bit nicer and seems to be liking Dan Oh now but he's still being an a**. Don't get me wrong, I like the actor but his character, not so much. He's like a bully. Was left out and not loved by his father, his mother died due to illness so he's taking it out on everyone. Still curious as to why and how the Dried Squid Fairy(Jinmiche) remembers the other story and know so much too. All in all, love all the actors and actresses, drama is dragging out but still looking forward to the end.

I had to say, this story getting boring and draggy. The development seems to be halted till I think screw that darn book and the fairy squid. I can’t believe there’s still many episode left. The beginning was nice, the character are all likeable. But due to the repetitive plot, I get sick of em. Juda’s plot doesn’t develop at all that I started to annoy at Nam Ju character for being obsessive all the time. Dan Oh and Haru scene started to wear me out. I swear haru and kyung just fight about the same thing all the time and the scene where haru save dan oh from kyung, I swear to god how many times that happened. Also do hwa and namju issue didn’t develop. Like dry squid said, the writer really have no creativity at all. Mostly because the writer too hard to focused on the main character only. They should add spotlight more to the side story such as namju’s family. Kyung brother and family. Sae mi as villain or even dry squid love story. Like the theme of the drama, one thing they got right is that only the main character get the spotlight here.

This is toxic. haru treats her the way she deserves and wants to be treated. This is why i think danoh is a breath of fresh air, because she doesnt let baek treat her like shit in the shadow. Its bad enough she has to hold back on set, now she has to take the bullshit in the shadow too? And about the writer it's Baekyung's brother, he likes Dan Oh that's why he said "He love Dan Oh to Baekyung" because he couldn't have her. That's what I read in IG it's only a theories. Well.... I was completely blown away... I love it so much, the drama technically dissed and mocked most of the high school dramas lol.... JaeWook (Baek Kyung) was the only main cast that I recognized, but after I watched till the latest episode, I couldn't take my eyes off of Ro Woon (Haru),,, He is so lovable and fluffy at the same time, his character is the cutest ever!!!! and of course my one and only Heroine, Dan Oh!!! She's so lovable as well, her strong personality really enjoyable to watch.. I can't wait to watch the next episode when Haru is back to his old self....!!! DanHaru fighting!!

Spoiler: I think it's amazing how they are characters from a different manhwa yet he somehow appears in this modern day school manhwa as an extra. It's torture for the characters too, since it seems that Dan oh and haru aren't meant to end up together. Can't wait for future episodes!

why in the manwha, danoh and haru's love are progressing fast? Just why?? But in the drama?? .... Is just hmmm, although you can feel those heart fluttering moments, but for me the manwha story is more heart fluttering, even if its just a pictures, idkw but i just want their "love story" in drama are like in the manwha, pls pd-nim, writer-nim i want danoh and haru's love to be express by themselves.

Ps. The story in manwha and the drama are little different, but it will gives you so much, heart fluttering moments just by reading it. Pps. I don't like, usually commenting this, so I'm very sorry for the spoiler and this long nonsense thoughts of mine

Baek Kyung might be too typical to me. We have seen these types of male leads for many years. It's guaranteed "attractive" to viewers, but Dah Oh deserves a man who doesn't have troubled past and a simple, happy relationship.

Like what Dan Oh told him when they were in the bedroom together: "I understand. It's not your choice." There's always 2 versions: the self aware vs the non self aware. But rooting for someone who's actively abusive / violent? That's so messed up. I practically don't care he has a bs sob story, he actively bullies her/mistreats her, goddamn abuses her until she has suffers a mini heart attack or whatever happens to her heart and ends up in hospital. This is not okay. This guy is systemically murdering her, he know she has a heart condition, he crushes the device that measures her heartbeat with his foot, he crushes the present she got him with his foot (and she actually wanted to give this present to Haru), he publicly cheats on her even though they're engaged, he humiliates her each time there are people around her, he tells her that he hates her, that she should just stay at the hospital, he leaves her alone in a friggin haunted forest where a horror surprise could make literally die from fear while she's having an episode in front of him, he throws away her lucky charm into the sea and she's forced to search for it until she almost drowns. He always presumes she's all about him and abuses her for it, even though she's just minding her own business. When he sees that she's moving on from him and she's found someone that actually treats her kindly and - god forbid - she's smiling, he starts beating the guy in front of her and bashes his head until he bleeds and threatens her that this is what he'd do to her next cause god forbid she receives some kindness in her life and someone actually loves her.

I have been watching K-Dramas since a long time ago and have recently lost quite the interest in them due to the lack of plot line or very slow developments etc...

However, when I decided to give a try for "Extraordinary You" I was rather skeptical at the beginning, since it reminded me quite of "Boys over Flowers" with the school setting and the idea of A3. But boy, this K-drama is beyond BoF. The plot develops very quickly, especially, after you watch ep 3 ( ep 5/6 ). This is where something's start to make sense and the long awaited character Haru gets to be revealed to us viewers. From this moment the viewer gets to experience a roller coaster of emotions due to the rich amount of encounters between Eun-Dan O and Haru, Thank YOU!

Can I also mention their fantastic chemistry and acting. I totally love how expressive and rebellious the female main lead is. Her acting is also very cute and fits totally into this manga concept :')! I also can't get enough of Haru, feels like he gets more and more handsome each minute--- >. <

All in all, It is a very unique drama in its own way with many funny manga-like characters, which in my opinion fits very well with this kind of drama style. It has many cute scenes and is well made. The quality of it looks also modern and nice to watch and enjoy. Therefore, I would totally recommend this drama to everybody who would like to experience something more refreshing and what makes time go by in the blink of an eye.

Fati Oct 07 2019 10:36 am Kim Hye Yoon acting is mind blowing its been age I enjoy a female acting in a rom-com she reminds me of Kim Suna, superb I expect nothing when I start to watch this drama but this one turns out to be so good high school dramas are often out of my radar, i never end Dream High, watched two episode and hated everything about it lol I was skeptical about the plot but I wanted to try it for the cast, glad I did, superb premiere. It makes fun of romance and school drama, without worrying to much to hide which drama is making fun of. I was sick of school-romance drama, this may be a fresh start into this genre. it's crazy how fun this show is!

Even if you read the webtoon, which I have done, empty your mind of expectations or doubts. Judge "Extraordinary You" based on its own merit. It has borrowed the plot and characters of the webtoon but, like Disney did with The Little Mermaid, made them into something new and fun. The drama is wacky and colourful, basically pure fun. 100% recommend.

Which means her interactions with haru will be slightly different from the webtoon which is saddddd just sadd. Their interactions were so sweet and unique. I think im just gonna stick with the webtoon version. I think i would have really enjoy this drama if i didnt read the webtoon beforehand hahaha..

I like Kim Hye-Yoon as Ye suh in Sky Castle, I love her funny personality when she came to Running Man and now she's acting as bubbly girl in here, I just have to watch it. I'm glad I started watching it. It does fill in the void I felt after Hotel del Luna and Rookie Historian Goo Haeryung finished :)

Let's just say the teasers are way different from what I have imagined. I just started it without anything in mind, I'm just trying to find which character would Kim Ji In play but I got hooked. Now, I'm getting really nervous about this drama. As I read in the character introductions in Soo.mpi, it seems like Lee Dohwa and Oh Namjoo's characters were changed, I mean Namjoo as someone who fights well?? Pftt. I'm just gonna take this with a grain of salt. I just hope they don't pull unnecessary drama, especially between Danoh and Baek Kyung. Please. Leave Danoh and Haru alone.

I dont know who jaewook is but im disappointed that he's not that handsome to be baek kyung The webtoon is only in the middle of season 2 so i dont know how the drama will be. Im afraid this will be like every live action of uncompleted webtoon that will be amazing at first because it flows the real plot and then stray to another path and get ruined after catching up with the latest chapters. I love the webtoon too much so if the drama fails, it hurts me Haeyoon can definitely act as sassy danoh and i hope naeun will be danoh's bestfriend. I love seeing her acting as villain-not-so-villain like ateen season 1 and it fits jihan perfectly. Lee taeri can be juda. But my brain bets that naeun will be juda and my heart dislikes it pfft I dont see much of rowoon's act yet but i think haru's character is not that hard so i think he will be fine. But im excited to see youngdae as oh namjoo, so handsome ??
