A pretty heavy film by standards which I ordinarily may turn away from. That said, I was mesmerized by deep complex feelings his performance evoked. I've seen him play a variety of vastly different characters in vastly different films (from the over-the-top scout to a broken, lonely man, and from an eye-candy high school fighter to a depressed mental hospital patient, suffering from hallucinations when stressed ) and he nailed every part! I almost couldn't believe that this was the same actor! I had to check IMDb for verification. He has the ability to change his body language, voice and mannerisms for each part, something that many mega stars (see most of Hollywood stars) are not able to do. Also, it is evident that, although a handsome man, he is not afraid to portray a broken, not so handsome anti hero. I am not from Japan so I don't know if he is popular there or not, but I hope he is, and I hope he gets all the credit he deserves, because he is an amazing Actor!

The Long Vacation Jan 28 2020 3:01 am This year, while waiting for kimyoungkwang to return to Korean Dramaland, I decided to get to know Ayano Go. Now my drama hours are all about his stories & their dvds, starting with The Perfect Insider, Kounodori Sensei 1&2 and Public Affairs Office In The Sky (I'm still searching for its dvd until now & I hope I will find). I would also love to see him in his movies such as The Light Shines Only There, The Snow White Murder Case, Closed Ward, Piece of Cake, Summer's End, Mukoku, Twisted Justice & The Back of Shadow. He is one in a million. A very talented Japanese actor. Wishing the best for Ayano Go! From Kuala Lumpur.

It's so touching and Ayano san is really good playing his role as a gentle and kind obsterician. tbh his face reminds me with Ji sung (a S korean actor in Kill me Heal me).

look for his profile in here and find out i (accidentally(?)) have watched some of his J movies such as snow white murder case, shinjuku swan dan usagi drop. well, seems like i should write his name on my fave J actor list now. :)

@Reya, so many dramas I would recommend. Not sure what genres you like but like you, I really enjoyed Soratobu as well, you should check out Saikou no Rikon, pretty funny but intense as well at times. I adored the Kounodori manga, and the drama was excellent.

You should check out his movies as well, some favourites of mine are: - Shinjuku Swan - Piece of Cake - Soko nomi nite Hikari Kagayaku

He definitely has charisma and lights up the screen. He and Machiko One have got wonderful screen chemistry. I hope to see more Japanese dramas with him acting. I am definitely a huge fan.

biankyflowers Dec 27 2012 3:26 am He should've been Aoshi Shinomori in Rurouni Kenshin!!! I loved him since Crows zero 2. He's all sorts of bad-ass and has a screen impact that can rival with Oguri Shun, Yamada Takayuki and Haruma Miura. I don't really get it why they didn't used the Oniwabanshu in the film and instead used the character Gein. But watching him in the film as Gein feels like a waste for me because he could've easily played Aoshi. Anyhoo, this is not a rant, just saying that Gou Ayano could and SHOULD play important roles because he can! the guy is awesome!! I still love Rurouni Kenshin and looking forward to a sequel even if Gou's not gonna be in it. But more power to you Gou Ayano! You go Gou!! (bad pun, I know :D)
