One of my favourite things about her performances is how I can almost mistake her for a completely different actor in her dramatic roles. Often when I've seen her in more serious roles it takes me a bit to recognise her or I find myself thinking she is a different actor from her more comedic roles. She's so versatile and I get particularly excited when I see her in a more dramatic role because they are usually really chewy and interesting. And then she can turn around and do a really silly comedy part and she seems like a completely different actor. I love watching her work. Agree with Renwa about Mad For Each Other -- Baek Ji-Won was great, and its an excellent drama. However, my favorite performance from Baek Ji-Won is as the mother in Encounter. She absolutely nails it. Her character feels real - a bit awkward and funny to start, and then she brings the raw emotion of a protective mother that fills the screen. Shes an amazing actress and performer who can make you laugh, cry, furious and sad with all her amazing performances. Her character in cheer up, do you like brahms, racket boys,snowdrop,once again, the fiery priest, once upon a small town and many more were all perfections. She always embraces all the character that she played splendidly! I hope she will be given more lead character role and more awards and recognition for her craft. Jilli Jan 01 2023 10:03 pm First time I saw her was in A Beautiful Mind (2016) and she was only in the drama for one episode but she blew me away with her performance, as a wife whose husband is dying of a brain tumor but Jang Hyuk's doctor still tries to save his life even though he had agreed to a directive to end his life if it was severely compromised. When Jang Hyuk's doctor didn't listen she pulled the plug on her own husband and killed him, rather than see him suffer anymore. Wow, that was so powerful I never forgot it. When I started to see her in other dramas in larger parts I was thrilled for her. She deserves it, big time! A fantastic actress! She is a wonderful actress and has played many roles in many series and dramas. Her performance in Extraordinary Attorney Woo was excellent but she deserved more of a major role. The writers should have made her Woo's mother, in which Attorney Woo was instead abandoned by her father and have the actor playing the part of Woo's father the Taesan Attorney seeking the position in the Ministry. I may be biased but I believe Baek Ji-Won is one of the best actresses on any NetFlix series deserving of at least an emmy in her supporting role in this series.
