Hong Ji-A (Jang Na-Ra) is an exorcist, who runs Daebak Real Estate. She gets rid of evil spirits from real estate properties and then sells them.

Oh In-Bum (Jung Yong-Hwa) is a swindler. He often uses ghosts in his schemes to make money.

Hong Ji-A and Oh In-Bum work together to disclose a secret about the death of Hong Ji-A’s mother, who died 20 years ago.

Aozora Jan 02 2023 10:25 pm The series have been in Netflix for a while, and only couple days ago, I started to watch and surprisingly the series were pretty entertaining. The only time I watched a series with Jang Nara in it was You're My Destiny which were very good. This new series are not as good as that title, but still watchable.

The only boring part in this series was when it was about the evil construction guy, while personally to me, I have to special mention the long haired thug and his team which had some funny moments.

Not sure why someone here wrote that Jang Nara was boring, I think she was pretty good and the main thing that kept the show going. While, again, I think let pro actors do the drama rather than some ex boyband guys.

All in all, no spoilers, this is is a bit above average of most K-drama these days and recommended watch.

Uncomplicated story line, though the ghosts/spirits were too easily taken care of, without much problem by the exorcist (Jang Na-Ra), the script writer should have made it a harder task as Jang Na-Ra mostly handled the spirits without breaking a sweat!

It’s a good performance by the male lead Jung Yong-Hwa, playing the role of a likeable rogue as he gradually got himself into assisting Jang Na-Ra in the exorcisms.

The series could have easily ended with a bang at 15 episodes. It instead limped to a weak ending as the scriptwriter filled up the final 16th episodes with a mishmash of scenes.

Special shout out to Ahn Kil-Kang. I normally see this veteran actor playing comedic roles, he managed to imbue his character with some degree of menace (not too much though, as the series on the whole leans towards a less serious storyline).

lew stary Jul 26 2022 6:29 am Since second half of 2020, Sell Your Haunted House hold the highest rating 6.9%. Sell Your Haunted House on top 10 on two of SK ott service with highest rank 2nd on Coupang play, and 2nd on Wavve.

KBS Wednesday-Thursday drama rating haven't achived 20% rating since 2020. Only KBS2 weekeend drama (Sat-Sun) that have 20%ish. Another reason because SK launched their ott service such as Wavve that launched on September 2019 and Coupang Play launched on Dec 2020.

Congrats to Sell Your Haunted House actors and all team. SYHH gets more exposure and good responses after its slot on netflix as it deserves.

I dont get propaganda for this drama here when other Wed-Thur kbs drama dont do well than Sell Your Haunted since second half of 2020 until now, and negativity for male lead when several kdrama reviews acknowledge his acting. Good luck on next project for all casts.

Saraseyo Jul 25 2022 9:20 am I finished it on netflix. It is interesting. It has diverse cases from capitalism, economy, class society, problems and sexual harassment. The story behind of each ghosts and reminding viewers to take care to their family. Two main lead has amazing chemistry without having romantic relation. While the female lead is great, the male lead pulls the spirit's fears when he posessed by ghost memory which is not the male lead's original character. Well written plot. Recommended drama. One of the best.

daya Jun 13 2022 2:37 pm I like this drama. Halfway through watching, and the concept feels fresh. I've never seen Jang Nara in badass/serious roles before, but she pulls it off perfectly. The only annoying thing for me is that the male lead is kinda bland and cringey... I see comments saying he's improved, but it seems like he needs to improve more to reach Jang Nara's level. The plot and Jang Nara more than make up for it though. Definitely worth a watch.

I love jang nara's acting transformation, she is indeed a very versatile actress.. yonghwa's acting albeit being outshone by jang nara, I acknowledge his improvement compared to his past unwatchable acting.. This drama really brings new light on both of them.. I know jang nara can play serious characters (I watched VIP solely for her despite of not being fan of infidelity drama) but this exceeds my expectation.. I wonder why isn't she got her daesang yet for this drama?

As some stated before, the chemistry between Jang Na-ra and Jung Yong-Hwa was awesome (and I say this not starting off as a fan of his performances in dramas). However, he has gotten better with each performance I've seen him in. And I also think this was easier material to watch him do. Kudos to him for working so hard.

Note: This is not a rom-com. It's clear that this drama is more about several individual characters growth through friendships and similar circumstances (for lack of better phrasing).

For me this is refreshing to see. While I like Jang Na-ra in rom-coms, it allowed me an opportunity to see Jang Na-ra outside of her usual bright and hopeful characters and showcase her range. I loved it. Great supporting cast and interesting script. Good job Sell Your Haunted House team.

AJ Jan 01 2022 10:39 pm I agree, it's a shame Jang Na-Ra won nothing in 2021 KBS Drama Awards. She deserved, at the very least, a joint-award in the "Best Actress in Miniseries" category.

What's more peculiar and defies logic is the fact that Jang Na-Ra was deemed not good enough to win in the base "Best Actress in Miniseries" category, but was also then nominated in the more top-tier "Top Excellence Actress" category (and was also deemed not good enough to win it). This nomination to the more top-tier category should have implied that she must have been better than whoever won the "Best Actress in Miniseries" awards. Weird.

AJ Dec 01 2021 8:15 pm Like with Choi Daniel in "School 2013", Jang Na-Ra succeeds in building great chemistry with Jung Yong-Hwa -- without having to resort to romance (kudos as well to scriptwriters / producers of both series for that).

There are parallels in both series: at the onset, the lead male and female characters are somewhat of opposite dispositions; but along the way, both show their utmost dedication and cooperation in carrying out their vocation (be it teaching or exorcism). Just like loving brother and sister -- not free of conflicts, of course; but when it really matters, they do stand up for each other.

M Nov 12 2021 4:28 am Hands down my favourite Korean series of 2021! I love the genre - it's a perfect mix of horror/comedy/heartwarming drama. SYHH has quite an intricate story but as each subplot unfolds, you gradually understand why Jia became an exorcist, what Inbeom tries to achieve by working with Jia, and how each character is connected. Many kdrama build their story around "past connection" between main characters, sometimes to the point it feels forced. Jia and Inbeom's relationship is one of the most believable. Yes it was awkward during early episodes but I think it plays into their fierce but soft-hearted noona and deeply hurt but caring ex conman dynamic. I legit cried during a few episodes and almost wished Jia wouldn't find the truth about her mum, she's had enough pain for a lifetime...

The chemistry between actors is amazing! There was a touching scene when Hwajung sent Jia and Inbeom off and although both Hwajung and Jia didn't say a word, you could feel the mutual love, respect, and care between them when they stared at each other. I also have to single out Heo Dongwon, he really shines here as Kim Taejin!! His character development is unexpected (to me) but became the most touching subplot.

Music/ost is fantastic, really suits the series and each scene. I even listen to them often and became a CNBLUE's new fan hahaha.. I really really hope there will be season 2, but with more relevant product placement please. We don't need to see underwear or skincare product in a horror series....

Unfortunately the Male lead has no charisma at all his acting was too boring and stiff I don't know why he was doing fine from Ep 1 to 3. Also the bad guy ahjussi Do Hak-Sung was not convincing at all as a villian probably because of his character in nine tailed fox cause he was acting the same not like all the villain that you hate them.

The character development and relationships were done very well too. I like how it’s not really romantic either, but you know the main characters share a special bond. It’s not a scary drama per se, it’s more mystery and somewhat suspenseful. Jang Nara, Yong Hwa and all of the supporting cast did an amazing job. I really love this drama! Definitely recommend!

Though described as romantic, it has more action. I'm surprised to see the low ratings and hope it won't stop a sequel. A story still remains in how Hong Ji A regains her exorcism powers and in the fulfilment of romance between Ji A and Oh In-Bum. It would be nice to see criminal Kim Tae Jin (Heo Dong Won) enjoying a warm meal with his family. Ji A tried various exorcisms. I'm sure there are more unexplored beliefs the writers can dig into. It was lovely to see Jang Na Ra and Jung Yong Hwa together, and the versatile actress, Kim Mi-Kyung (CEO Yum) again. I saw Heo Dong Won for the first time. He was entertaining and despite his connivances, I found him to be a sympathetic character. Loved the shifting yin and yang characters of the black-clad cold exorcist Hong Ji A and the swaggering warm con artist Oh In Bum. Enjoyed Jung Yong Hwa's upbeat "I Got Ya," and Park Sung Jin and Choi Min Chang's sad "Underworld." Thank you KBS. Now let's have Season 2, please.

Eee Jun 09 2021 4:18 am I love the way they wrote Hong Jiah! She's a very interesting and complex character and Jang Nara is doing a great job portraying her. Actually all the characters feel down to earth even though it's a fantasy, and that's what makes good fantasy good!

I really appreciate the director as well, he knows how to capture the emotion and give each feeling/reaction the weight it deserves, no scene feels like they're filling out what's "supposed" to happen but it flows naturally. I'll be following what he does from now on for sure!

Having said that, the problem I have with this drama is that she is written off as perpetually angry and she always looks like she smells something bad and I'm really getting tired and close to quitting this drama.

Her character here for me is very unlikable. I know the the character was written with such a sad back story and I do admire that she is a strong woman but I could certainly do away with her always looking so very angry at everything.

It's just super exhausting.

Jang nara is very passionate in acting and I can't help but give her standing applause for her performances in all of her dramas.. kang malgeum is a scene stealer for me, both in mouse and in this drama, her mysterious aura was really strong throughout the drama, makes me question her motive in both dramas

I was intrigued by Jang Nara's portrayal and mesmerizing look: all black clothes, long black hair, with red lips, fearless, yet sensitive, and loving of her mother. (I have become a fan of Jang Nara). Also, I have grown to love the spirit-mother, her sad look, but loving concern for her daughter, and when she saves her daughter (and Inbeom) from the freezer, that was a great, emotional scene. I'm glad I stuck with this drama, very entertaining.

Lets get to this drama mystery! I think Joo Hwa Jung knows more than Hong Ji A and Oh In Bum knows about those two fate. I dont think its because of OIB psychic problem, but Maybe someone interfere or another character being possessed and kill HJA mom. JHJ might have interfere. I am suspicious of her. I dont think she keep secret about OIB to HJA is because she does not wants to hurt HJA, instead she have some chain of secret including her and the dong hak construction with the killing of HJA mom and OIB uncle. i hate this mystery cos i cant wait for next ep!

Cain May 12 2021 10:53 pm If you've been watching Kdrama tremendously, you will notice a pattern where it's usually the male lead does something meaningful to the female lead and then the female lead slowly fell in love with him.

For example, taking care of her, remember the small details, putting necklace over the neck etc.

But in this drama, I feel like the role is reverse based on the way she put the necklace on his neck LOL Love to see more of that.

It's quite fresh seeing her playing this kind of character. And the plot is quite good. Not boring. and the amount of mystery does make me impatient for the next episode!

I was skeptical at first with the pairing of the FL and ML, but to my surprise, they have very good chemistry and look good together. I did not even sense the age gap. The CGI and ost are good too. I loved her performance in 'Go back Couple', her emotion was so realistic and touching when she cried for her child. I am amazed as she is not even a wife nor a mother. That really changed my thought about her as I was not into her dramas most of the times. I am also glad that Jung Yong-Hwa is in this drama, he has been improving steadily in all his dramas since 'Heartstring'. I had enjoyed 'The Package' and I think he is trying to transform into an all-rounder actor which is great. Most Kdrama actors, idols especially are being typecast into certain roles which I think it hurt their careers in long run.. so I am happy that he got this role :)

The English title is far cooler and intriguing than the original Korean one. I wish they’d gone a similar vibe in the Korean title.

Hope the drama keeps a creepy vibe fit for a haunted house story and that’s not just a bait. The Daebak/대박 part of the title is already give me anxiety that the tone will flip when we see the actual show and it’ll be a mix of a some crack-y/comedy deal. Some genres just don’t mesh well with comedy/crack.... (is this me complaining from Vincenzo trauma? I love that show but I just can’t take it seriously. In like any way. They have impossibly weird situations and consistent laid back humour mixed in with incredibly dark stuff that it just gives you whiplash. It’s like watching a child’s dream of playing around with adult subjects come to life.... Not to mention Sisyphus that didn’t take itself seriously from the first episode... Can’t expect the audience to then take seriously if they’re not themselves...)
