Jack Moxham Sep 10 2025 3:33 am Back in 2014 I was sent a booklet from Japan signed by Nana Komatsu! It was gifted to me by distribution company 'Third Window Films', who were originally planning to give it away in a competition. I was already a huge fan of Nana Komatsu and so I sent them a DM asking if I could pay for it. Instead, they said I could have it for free because I'd been such a passionate fan of their company!

The booklet promotes her debut film, The World of Kanako and the signature has the little smiley face she always adds beneath her name and she left an ink fingerprint on the paper too :') I'm eternally grateful that I got something so cool and valuable for free and will always treasure it.

When I watched Close Range Love several years ago I was really wondering why the teacher doesn't go for the other teacher instead of the short hair student for example. Nana had short hair back then and so was not attractive. She has blossomed now. She is downright gorgeous in After The Rain for example.

Though its a dark role for her and its her first break but she managed to make the character kanako not a joke. You'd think she's not a newbie. But I want to see her more in a light, highschool movies beside she's only 22. She already proved she can handle dark roles so now I want to see her doing kawaii acting.

Whether it's in Kawaki, Destruction Babies or Oboreru Knife, it seems she can handle dark scenes in a very effective way. I love the way she quickly moves from almost expressionless eyes to intense, almost full of rage. Looking forward to seeing her in future roles.

PonyoMaria May 21 2017 1:21 am I became a fan when I watched her movie,"Kawaki." It was her first acting gig. Her character there was very hard to do and she nailed it. I want to see her do more interesting roles. She's definitely someone to look forward to.

I really enjoyed her performance in Kinkyori Renai and am excited to see how she develops as an actress!

Dawn Jun 09 2015 4:24 pm I just watched your movie "Close Range Love," it was a very nice movie. I loved the way you brought to life Yuni Kururugie as a character. The characters emotionless reaction to everything except Sakurai-sensei (Tomohisa Yamashita's character) was nothing short of wonderful.

I look forward to seeing you in other movies, dramas, short films...whatever, you are a beautiful talent. The film would is surely better because of new actresses like you...continued success and best of luck to you.
