Jang Hyuk is 100% finest k actors, he just encompasses his characters 100%. Not to mention how good looking he is. Anytime I see his name in any drama or movie casting the ratings are going to be high. Thank you Jang Hyuk.

Extremely intelligent, and reminds me of my brother Dean who passed. Hang Hyuk is by far my favorite actor in the world. He surpasses Johnny Depp, Shah Ruk Kahn, he surpasses other stars with his Korean good looks, sophistication, warmth and internal flame. Jang Hyuk is one of my three favorite male actors and I look forward to anything he partakes in. I'm taking my time because I don't want to run out of all of his performances I do enjoy him so much. Whether it's dramedy, comedy or wonderful drama like this one. He is so darn good!

Although I'm not that fond of watching bloodshed all of the fights in that drama with choreographed like a ballet. He is wonderful to watch in his action scenes. It's apparent how gifted he is in this sort of genre. Since then I have watched many of his performances and I'm enjoying this one as well.

I have never been compelled to to follow anyone's body of work, but I am sold. He has such a variety of character in all genres and it's pretty damn amazing how he nails all the genres like that.

If you have seen his huge body of work, which I have, you have witnessed the wide range of his acting skills. He does comedy, drama, and action all with equal and exceptional skill. Very few actors can accomplish this, along with the passion that he brings to each performance. I saw him, for the first time, in 'My Country-The New Age' on Netfik. I was immediately captured by his performance. From that moment on I searched, found, and watched almost his full body of work. He is an Exceptional talent. I am hoping that more of his older as well as newer work is released in the U.S. so that it becomes easier to access. Love to JH.

So I watched everything I could get my hands (eyes) on with him in it and was impressed by the wide range of characters he's developed in his work. He does it all--comedy, drama, tragedy, romance, and of course action with equal skill and charisma. He even does his own stunts and fights. The guy is amazing. I wish wish wish he would work in American films.

Ever since watching him in that historical Kdrama I have loved every series and movie (historical period dramas)

He brings a charisma I have not found in anyone else. He is the best swordsman and actually the best actor I’ve seen in years.

I did see him first before another favorite of mine, so I have to rank him NUMBER 1 in my book.

Thank you Jang Hyuk for the fun, excitement, and joy we get watching you as you make the Yesterday come alive. You are so darn good, I wish we had actors this good here in America!!!

Early Jul 09 2021 2:59 am Love this guy much,started when I got a chance to whatch FTYL last March,2021 since Im not a kdrama fan before...Actually I dont like korean actors...Mostly looks like gay or on feminine side...When I finally watched JH,wow different from other korean actors..He was manly and the only korean actor who was so sexy w/moustache/beard,a really so damn good in all aspect in terms on acting,esp.I did already watched a lot from his drama series after watching FTYL..I really searched for it.I did also watched all variety shows he had joined.From their will finally saw the other side of him...Very fine man,extremely mature the way he see things...very reserved...serious and yet humorous on his own ways.that made me adore him more.Keep it up,Jang Hyuk!?

Hope he reunites with Jang Nara again, both are great actors.

Stuck at home drove me to search into dramas and actors i had in the past never really know. Like a friend here, @Jiyuu, I came across You are my destiny and for the first time got to know Jang Hyuk. Can't say much now as it is the only drama I've watched him in but very impressed by his potrayal of Lee Geon, how he carried his character's emotions. Every hairstyles and attires fit him so well. Now is...which one should I start with?.... -.-

Jiyuu Sep 10 2020 4:09 am Just finished his latest series, Tell Me What You Saw. I'd recommend it to fans of the crime-thriller genre and/or Jang Hyuk. I actually only discovered him last month. Can't believe how in the world I could have missed his works all this time. Got randomly started with Fated to Love You, then Thank You (before I finished FTLY), then Tell Me, and now watching Tree With Deep Roots.

His range is astounding. There are very few actors who can do hard action, drama, romance, historical, AND comedy. Especially comedy because it requires one to lose a certain amount of vanity that actors usually "need" to look good at all camera angles.

I don't think I've seen any other actor change his hair, mannerisms, and voice as distinctly as he does for every role he plays. And his eyes speak volumes. Wow. Just wow.

Such an excellent bad/good guy he captures it perfectly. The story was long and I was pretty much fast forwarding the battle scenes at the end. Stellar acting from everybody but damn he just hit the ball out of the park!!

But what impress me the most is when he said that he wanted to make actor his longlife profession from which he's going to feed his family, and he realizes he's no longer young, so it's natural he can't always be a main lead, so he has started to accept roles in dramas where he's not the main lead. It was really touching because he lay down his pride for the longevity of his career. But unfortunately some fans who don't know this sometimes say and complain why he's not the lead. They should've watched his interview and enjoy him in any role he decides to take.

BB Dec 03 2018 3:41 pm With Jang Hyuk, I am the least objective fan you can find. Why? Fated to Love You was my very first drama period and than the rest is history. So I’m extremely biased when it comes to JH’s dramas. I tend to watch his dramas twice or more in case I wasn’t objective enough the first time around. In JH’s last 2 dramas (Wok of Love and Bad Papa), it seemed/felt that he was mentoring the younger casts more than anything. It is wonderful to witness that with an established actor.

He, along with his costar Jang Na Ra, made me laugh and cry with their brilliant performances. there are some parts of the series that were kind of doozy but i'm glad i kept watching it because the latter part is where it got good. Hope they work together again!

There are only two male actors that give me goosebumps because they are just so good, Yoon Gyun-Sang and Lee Jong-Suk. It's quite entertaining bcoz he makes engage with the story and bcoz of his good acting I am now hook on drama. The chuno is wow! This guy must work out a lot to have such a rip physic it goes very well with his character. I do agree with some of the comment that some of his cast members are at par with his acting capabilities. I hope you will make more movies and perhaps one day visit us here in Vancouver, Canada. Just saying. Cheers!

I feel that many of his peers are not up to par with him, especially his female counterparts. Shine and Go Crazy was his worst drama, not because of him, but because everything was wrong. The cast wasnt good and the flow was bad. There wasn't enough depth in this drama, only in his character and his character was not enough to support this drama. Not impressed but he played his role well. Besides that, his other drama are great. He picks his characters well and I respect that. I look forward to more of his work.

ChroloWA Oct 12 2015 5:27 pm Jang Hyuk is definitely the reason why I watched many koreans movies or series which would be quite colorless without an outstanding actor like him. I'd even say he is my absolute favourite actor, regardless of the country.

What is so fantastic about him, is, that he can play nearly every role, that he always manages to stand out and even as a darker character directly gains attention in a positive way. My personal favorite will forever remain his role of Lee Daegil in Chuno! Daegil has quite a bad personality, but Jang Hyuk presents very attractive acting! // Beside this he is said to be a totally friendly guy in reality, always showing love, sincerity and even help towards others.

Hope to see him in many more movies/series!

Delicia Ambrosino Sep 08 2015 10:58 am Multi-talented and charismatic with his humor. That is how I see Jang Hyuk. I have even imagined what he would look like in his 80's. I see salt and pepper hair...mostly grayish, crinkled skin, sparkle in his eyes and still the same laugh....though thinner. I don't see him as a sex symbol. Actually, I don't look at any public figure that way. We have plenty of enough of that superficial beauty going round. Instead, I try to see a person as a person, a human. Those with talents such as Jang Hyuk are fortunate and blessed indeed. They get to do what they love, and it is hard work though not as hard as digging in a coal mine for example.I have always admired most all Asian cultures. Recently, and unfortunately,I have found that there can be much prejudism in these countries just like America. Though, we have tried very hard to put a stop to it there are those whose hatred lead their thinking and therefore, their lives. I sincerely hope that in the heart and mind of Jang Hyuk that this is not so. I understand that most Asian's despise Americans and for some, they may have their reasons. But I also know that smiling at Americans and accepting American money is okay. We are simply an opportunity after all and one not liked. It's too bad really that our world can't live in peace and harmony. Why do I mention this here? Because people like Jang Hyuk, Ady Ahn, VanNess Wu, and so money others can be the leaders to a peaceful world. They can actually BE more than just actors and actresses. They can be HEALERS. I'd like to see the same here in America. Believe it or not actors, actresses, and singers, bands, and all public figures have the power to make monumental changes for the good in our world. Just think.....wouldn't that be awesome?

Lily Aquino May 30 2015 12:11 am At my age wherein I’m in my mid-forties…never in my wildest dream, would I imagine being stricken and mesmerized with an actor… I have never realized that there will be a point in my life which I will be indulged or I may quote as my youngest child would always say “Nanay, you are getting addicted to him.” I’m not a typical showbiz fanatic, I seldom patronized showbiz personalities, Although, I used to watched movies and drama series but I rarely had a chance to capture it from the beginning to end. Most of all I never get into Korean Drama Series, since I usually heard from my friends that Korean story ended up not well. Until one day, far from my expectation, a Korean Actor named JANG HYUK catches my attention and made a very significant impact that touches my heart and eventually, changes my life…a very person whom I thanked God for letting him experience the feelings of having someone to look up to…Since then I started to patronize every single films, drama series, interviews,(despite most of the time I never understand because of no sub title) I can say based on what I have read he is truly a good person inside and out. May you continue to inspire people and may god always bless you and your family with your everyday endeavor. I cried a lot with "Deep Rooted Tree" " Chuno" and "IRIS 2" I loved and enjoyed "Fated to Love You" I was enchanted and fall in love by your charm on "Shine or Go Crazy" I just wish that someday I will be able to see you in person so that I will extend my deepest gratitude for giving me hope and the urge to recover from my sickness.

And when I read his filmography, I was shocked that he starred at Windstruck. There are no words good enough to describe how amazing his performance was in Chuno! After that, I started watching more of his work. I've seen Thank You, Deep Rooted Tree and Shine or Go Crazy. And I have started Midas. I saw his cameo in Love Cells. I hope to see all the films/dramas he has been in. He is a fantastic actor and he makes the dramas/films wonderful because of how talented he is.

In these past two years this writer has discovered Korean TV series, and with that a new favorite actor, JANG HJUK "Shine Or Go Crazy". Jang Hjuk certainly deserves the many accolades bestowed on him.

MAI Mar 31 2015 8:06 pm Jang Hyuk is a veteran actor. The experience and the wisdom that come from being in his trade for some time already makes the nuances in Jang Hyuk's acting so palpable. He only needs to tilt his head a certain way...to make his brows knit together...to let the furrows in his forehead go deeper...to cast a certain glance...and so on. His body language and facial expressions have been honed by years in front of the camera. He can reach out without having to resort to dialogues. BUT WHY would he use that cackling laughter all the time?! It can become annoying. But hey, that might be his signature, his own brand...and that IS Jang Hyuk! If he intends to use that laughing sound and his booming voice to aim for hilarity then he should know that too much of a good thing is also bad. ...Hope this reaches him.

FTLY no#1 fan Dec 26 2014 11:10 am Just finished watching Fated to Love You. Sad it ended but ending was very satisfying. Jang Hyuk's acting was amazing and unforgettable. Highly charged range of emotions, great OST, wonderful performance by JH ....my first time exposure to his superb acting. He is one manly, heart fluttering hot Korean male actor. But his character Lee Gun's crazy weird laugh drive me batty throughout the drama.

I am currently watching him in "Fated to Love You" in which he portrays the role of Lee Gun and I have to say that he is doing a mighty fine job at this character. Although there are a total of four lead characters, to me it seems like they are practically nonexistent because of the fact that the role of Gun is what makes the drama and this is all due to the phenomenal acting skills of Jang Hyuk. I wish him all the best in all of his future endeavors and I look forward to seeing him in more dramas/movies in the future :)

mimiya Feb 24 2013 7:05 pm Jang Hyuk is an amazing talent- very charismatic, brings every character to life. His Eyes speak volumes. I am not Korean, or Asian, so can someone please tell me if he has a special accent? I got hooked on Korean film/Drama due to him. So now I can recognize certain words in Korean, became familiar with some cultural manners- such as the various ways of addressing people, etc... So to a foreign ear, when Jang Hyuk speaks, he seems to drawl the vowels at the end of some words. Also, there is always an edge to him, whether he plays a street-wise kid or a doctor.

Can a native Korean please reply? Does he have a special accent? Does he have unique mannerisms? thnx.

Jang Hyuk's the founding father of my newly acquired addiction to kdramas. This from a grandma who only watched documentaries and can't stand soap operas in Spanish or English. Consus Jan 24 2012 1:39 am Jang Hyuk is the South Korean Marlon Brando. His acting is edgy and at times seems to be on the verge of totally losing it only to pull it together. But he can also be very funny. I am glad he never corrected his overbite that gives him character and voice. My favorite drama/movies of his so far are Volcano High, Thank You, S-Diaries, Bright Girl's Success, Chuno and Chasing the Elephant.

denny Jan 07 2012 7:04 am I can't watch this Chuno thing - it takes me more than year to reach only till 11-th episode. Same with Midas. But "Deep rooted tree" was great for me. I actually adore You in movies. Dance of the dragon was my first Korean movie and I was captivated mainly because of Your performance. I watched that elphant movie in this morning and I am soo happy about it- i never doubted You will be great in it. I laughet a lot watching "Please Teach me English". But i hardly disagree That they say Windstruck is a comedy. I like your intelgence and eqally with your acting skills. You fit for every role.Knowing more about the westrn cinema i only may say Jonnye Depp has the same arge spectrum of acting skills and and role chalenges. And some French actors like Vensan Cassel. I 'll really tray to watch Chuno - but it hurts that Your character suffers a lot in there, so I can't stand it for 24 hours. :))) You never disappoint me.
