Plot

Female Police Officer Kyung-Jin (Gianna Jun) spots a purse snatcher fleeing on foot. She's off-duty, but gives chase anyways. Kyung-Jin arrests a man named Myung-Woo (Jang Hyuk), who she mistakes for the purse snatcher. The two are then paired together to patrol an area popular with underage students. Love soon blooms for the couple.

This is the second movie of the "My Sassy Girl Trilogy" by director/screenwriter Kwak Jae Young.

The first movie is My Sassy Girl (2004).

The second movie is Windstruck (2004).

The third movie is Cyborg She (2008), a Japanese movie.

They are unrelated except for having a 'sassy girl' theme

Kwak Jae Yong served as screenwriter & director for all three above films.

And I agree with Divay below!

Cha Tae Hyun, the male cast lead in My Sassy Girl (2001) makes a guest or bit appearance on Windstruck: I am almost Positive that you will enjoy it!

I also agree with Alexey, in that it is a bit rushed in the second half, but the emotional high you get from this movie is more than enough to watch it the entire way through!

I've watched this movie when I was a little bit younger and I loved it so much up until now. I have so many feelings about this movie it's like an all-in-one type of genre. One of the best movies ever made. I started loving Jun Ji Hyun because of this and now I'm a fan of her.

Alexey May 02 2020 7:54 am Okay. First impression was that this is going to be fun comedic movie, but the second hour of the movie isnt fun at all. It's so unfairly sad that I just can't. But still, it's very good, very emotional. I'd say this movie could be easily turned into a series, and might've been even better as series, because there was so much of events and because of that the last 30-40 minutes feel a bit rushed until the last scenes.

If you're planning to watch comedy or romantic-comedy (as it says in genre) this movie has a trap and turns absolutely dramatic, so I wouldnt recommend it. But overall, great movie. Jun Ji-Hyun is amazing, as well as Jang Hyuk.

Was about to Exit because it was the adjacent music one I wanted & movie was randomly in my music favs. BUT -- hooked in first few seconds. Kdramas are my preferred dramas but I watch in Netflix so this accidental but absorbing viewing of Windstruck was the best thing to happen that day. Think I will remember Windstruck for as long as I have memory.

LP May 22 2016 12:45 am This is a hilarious kdrama! I have never liked slapstick shows before, but there's something about how kdrama's can pull it off so well, besides the fact that these two lead actors are just the best. Watch it -- you'll laugh and the ending is ok too although not as silly as I thought it might be. (:

Angela Sep 06 2015 7:30 am TOO GOOD! i literally poured a fountain of tears at the end and my eyes are still watery while im typing this........i legit have never cryed this much before in a movie!! i definitely recommend it to all.....ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES EVER it made me have mixed emotions, from scared to cracking up laughing to crying legit to good that i cant think properly of what to say it's a MUST WATCH!!

The first half draws you in.. a romcom.. and the second half reminds you that this is a work of art.. a korean movie! I loved every bit of it.. i could watch this a thousand times. thank everyone involved for this haunting timeless work of art!

ace Nov 01 2014 7:33 am I agree with previous posters about pacing. It was very disjointed. To the point I kept getting the impression they really didn't think things through. At all. They just threw a bunch of cliches together in a pot and stirred it up. Counting on the charm and talent of the cast and the 'twist' ending to make people happy. And to be fair, they are very charming and talented. And the ending was a nice wink to the audience. But I'd have preferred a little more deft hand on the storytelling side of things to balance things out.

But fans of Sassy Girl Gianna Jun will likely enjoy it at least on some level.

I just have one question: What kind of cop lets a civilian get involved with police matters with no supervision? I know that Korea has no respect for its police force or criminals, but COME ON. But then it starts with comedy and Jang Hyuk playing a sedate teacher, instead of his usual tortured rage-aholic. What a great movie. Enjoy.
