He has charisma in buckets and creates an edginess to scenes that has you biting your nails in anticipation of his next move. Those eyes are steely and roam around the set making you wonder who he will pounce on next. Highly watchable! So captivating. His gestures, facial expressions and small nuances in his acting are top tier. I bawled my eyes out when he died so early on, that I was so compelled to write MBC to UNDO that travesty. LOL! Loved the script primarily but it was one that was bound to lure you in and hook you, assail your senses, and you end up loving each actor for the wealth of experience and professionalism they brought to the roles they were assigned, and did such great honors to the subject matter at hand (the Korean War). As the series went on, I understood why Mr. Choi's Captain role had to perish as without, the two leads could not have "matured" as men and officers. But it still doesn't make me any less prone to mourning Mr. Choi's early "demise". I own the 8-disc series now and alas, I do play over these first six episodes slowly to keep the inevitable away.
