Ji-Soo (Kim Dong-Hee) is a model high school student. To pay for his university tuition fee, he makes a bad choice. This leads to a serious crime that takes place. Min-Hee (Jung Da-Bin) and Kyu-Ri (Park Joo-Hyun) attend the same high school as Ji-Soo and they get involved in Ji-Soo's crime.

aaa Sep 29 2023 10:22 am When I read the comments everyone hates at least one character and try to defend an other one. It's the story of 4 teenagers and the 4 of them makes bad decisions. The 4 of them are not "good people". And even so we still root for at least 1 of them. That is why it's so interesting. People wonder what happened at the end, but the point of the story is that it doesn't end well for any of the character. They get away ot they got caught or they die: it doesn't end well. Because of their decisions.

I was looking forward to how their characters would develop, but it just ended like that. Pft! Aren't there any season 2?

Stopping due to unlikeable character Mar 06 2023 8:46 am That Gyuri character was so well played by the actor I hate her and can not stand watching her succeed, my poor baby Jisoo got so stressed i am not even able to finish the second episode Gyuri has me running to comment sections and forum just to validate my distaste for the character. So many people quit watching because of Gyuri but my adoration for Jisoo wins.

Donataro Jan 15 2023 6:45 pm I had to watch the first 15' twice to know what is going on. The eay the story approach is kinda rush. But after I got that the "bad choice" here is prostitution involving highschool students, things are much more interesting! Park Ju Hyun is really the bae! I think she fits perfectly in the play. Everyone is annoying, not just her. I hate how the female police keep digging like she knows the whole story already. Boy Ji Soo is too timid toward everything, he became so clumsy when things come. He should have accepted Gyu Ri earlier so things are solved faster. The karaoke showdown is so satisfying. In the end, I think JS didn't make it and GR just carry him to another place when he die. He deserves it bc he had the chance to escape when GR asked if he wants to come with her. After all, highschool girls are the best, and the prostituion career for them is just hot topic

sinimog_27 Dec 24 2022 2:18 am Gyuri made the show very unlikeable, why was she so annoying? couldn't even get past the 2nd episode, tried to pick it up later on but got reminded of her excruciating character. It's sad really, because this is my favourite genre.

Mark Dec 05 2022 6:40 pm I rarely quit a show, ofttimes worth it to stay, not unlike giving a book some time to get its legs. But I made it 2 1/4 episodes through and that was it. Reason? The female lead's character was so thoroughly dislikeable, I thought, "Life is short, I'm not spending another second with so disagreeable a character." A testament to the actor to bring such ugliness to the character, she's a fine actor, but the character was just too much. Yes, I'm sure in time-tested Kdrama fashion, she'll be redeemed, I just wasn't hanging about to find out when.

Though he is smart enough but because of being young and luck of experience and guidance he keeps on messing up. Because he is not that bad all he focused on was his dream he never realize what lies ahead so he never had a back up plan. You can his innocence but his dream to become normal what pushes him through. If that girl psycho didn't comes in his life would be okay. Excellent writing, writernim!

And his bussiness is good because he took care of woman from crazy client. But, suddenly a random girl named Gyuri screwed everything, i hate her so much. She's weird. And the weirder girl came up, Min hee Why You Blamed Jisoo ? You choosed that job, and your bf (Rain Wannabe) is so stupid. No wonder both of you date each other. Just leave Jisoo alone, let him being happy with Gyuri.

It's okay, i love the drama because of Jisoo. Her character is so realistic. He is high schooler criminal, that's why he do some stupid decision. His feeling towards Gyuri even did not effect his goals and decision. I wrote this because the ending got me crazy, where are they right NOWWW ?

hi Jun 29 2022 6:58 pm I am super late on this series but I am grateful that I found this one. Very new to the genre that I'm used to watch. It's more realistic that's why I love it. It's just stressful that the main leads are getting into more trouble as the series progresses.

I liked both the main leads. I find myself odd to be cheering for the characters which are doing the crime, which us oji and gyuri. I understand jisoo is just doing it for his dream. Living with the kind of family he has, he wants to get out of it and live normally. Same as gyuri, she doesn't want to stay at their house that's why she's been being nosy with jisoo's business. Aside that she likes him (obviously since jisoo's been the main priority of her actions in the drama), she really likes to get into interesting things which may let her forget how bad her life is with her family. She actually has a very strong personality and I like it. It's just scary how she becomes very manipulative sometimes.

I just hate minhee here. I mean, Jisoo is the big boss for that insurance company but he did not force them to work. He even helped her when they should be on their day off. Mr Lee is cutting her off because she cant work, she doesnt want it anymore. It's just for her own sake, she is having a panic disorder. Her wanting to have money for her boyfriend should be blamed.

I just hope there's a second season for this. I want to see jisoo and gyuri to pay for what they did and become mature afterwards. They deserve it tho, incl jisoo's deed towards minhee at the last episode.

the characters are strange, inconsistent, and most of the time, stupid that destroyed the drama, it a shame.

the most questionable and inconsistent one is the main character, he portrayed as a smart, meticulous, tech savvy guy who should handle these kind of thing well, but most of his decision makings are really questionable and stupid.

- was not changing his door pin regularly, how could his known-useless-dad entered his apart freely where all the evidences are there? - use you door peephole, its that simple! - after psychological breakdown and on verge of getting caught still decide to meet someone who is most likely caught you? - stored evidences inside school's sofa? for real man? - silent your phone when matters lol and many more questionable decision making.

min hee and her bf also have inconsistent character writing, gyuri's was decent.

It'll keep you on the edge and damn ! There are so many possible theories (I've spent a wee bit much time on literally jotting them down on a piece of paper (-_-") ... However, it's definitely clear that this is awesome and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who like Highschool dark drama :D

Glad I found this gem, hands down to everyone who participated in making this masterpiece. Extracurricular literally climbed up my list and will probably be on top for a long time.

I don't usually want a season 2 because it might ruined the first season. But judging by that ending, why not have a second season? There is still a lot of things that needed a closure. Now let's talk a little bit about Oji character. A lot of people say that he is a coward, dumb and everything. That's true. I agree. But his character is very realistic honestly. You need to understand that is how his character is supposed to be. This is not some "the hero always smart" "hero always win" type of show. Oji is obviously a reflection to how some people are in real life. Always feel good and comfortable when nothing happen. Never really think of the consequences of what you doing. But when something is wrong, things goes south really quick for him because "this situation" is not something he would expect.

You can see from the beginning he said he just want to go to college, get a stable work, get married and live an ordinary life. He obviously not the type of person to think further. That already explained his character thoroughly. If I am in his shoes, I would be a coward too. Imagined getting kidnapped by some gangsters, getting threaten, the police trying get you... I would be scared and be a coward as well. Just saying...

His main goal of savings were nearly done but that girl who took his phone turn his world up side down. His main stupid is still falling for her. I hate that girl who make bold decision without thinking and making things much worse. Now both of them can't even live normal life. Also Why in the world is min hee blaming him and saying he took her money. Why is she trying to make evidence of main lead so that he can be caught. But her work and her life. She took those by her own choice. but she act like victims . I don't understand her bf role. How did he end up being Savoir of min hee. What the hell with trying to protect her when he is the one for whom she is end up working like this. He was enjoying her money and he was her bf coz of money. Why is everyone trying to play victim when they all are bad people. I only respect Mr Lee. Actually all bad things Jisoo do is just to get the money for college as he says he cant go to thst even he do all parttime jobs. He is a criminal but in a way all teenagers actually need someone to care. Minhee is kind of hypocrite she cant totally blame on Jisoo . The plot is very interesting. I never know that compensated dating exists (bcs i dont have it in my country). Spoilers ahead btw hihi. I find min-hee soooo annoyinggg, she blames everyone for her wrongdoings without reflecting on herself back. She never cares about Mr Lee, she only acts like she does so that she’ll appear innocent in that situation. She’s only doing that because she regrets talking bad to Mr Lee and couldn’t accept the fact that Mr Lee gets injured (eventually died) because of her. And she chose to blame it on everyone except herself Sigh soo annoying. Yess i know jisoo & gyuri are guilty too but minhee should at least think about the consequences of her own action.

Overall, its such a great drama ?? 1000% would recommend

The main lead Ji-Soo was built up to he super smart, and yet as the story unfolds, there was nothing smart about him. 10 out of 10 times he lost his money for stupid reasons and you'd wonder how he made his business work. His character was written to be always holding the smoking gun- like always, and there was no redemption at all which by the end makes you wonder why anyone would root for him in the first place. Gyu-ei on the other hand was the most annoying character I've ever seen by far this year and this show would've been a 2-episode show if it weren't for her. She was the one who caused all the issues and it would've been nice if her character was offed at the last episode. The only likable characters for me were the bodyguard and the teacher. Everyone else could die without any consequence to the world...

I think in the end, how the writer decided to unfold the path of Jisoo was a disservice to the show because he was dumbed down to the level of his favorite pet.

z Jan 24 2021 2:34 pm SPOILER - i was really rooting for jisoo throughout the show but when he pushed minhee off the staircase and left her there to die without calling the ambulence, he lost all sympathy for me. and i was surprised when i was cheering for ki tae, the sociopathic bullying, beating up jisoo at the end.. that caught me off guard bc i hated him throughout the whole show but now i suddenly came to rooting for the villain to get revenge for his girlfriend. people in the comments say minhee was annoying and kept blaming jisoo.. minhee was a victim of underage prostitution, she does have a reason to be mad lmao. yall say she consented, but you cant consent when youre a minor, youre only a victim to those crimes. unpopular opinion but i loved her character. i Hated gyuri, yes jisoo's business was unethical but he was flawlessly pulling it off until she intruded into his life. people died because of her and she didnt even feel bad. her parents are annoying but she still didnt need the money, however jisoo needed it to get into college. but still i was hoping for a kiss between them since they obviously had feelings and we didnt even get tht? ughghghgh i hated the open-ending.. after so many people dying and things getting so messed up, i hoped for a clean ending. whatever, hoping for season 2. (praying gyuri gets what she deserves)

The first fault is minhee, why did she work in the dayoff, she cross the rule and this is where all the problem started. She’s also a bit selfish, she know its herself who want that job but at the end she blammed other people for her own act. Then, oji, why did he called the police- for the god sake, i mean- he knows that he would likely went into trouble. And gyuri, i see alot of people blammed her, but I think she’s very kind and considering to other. If its not gyuri who found out abt oji’s business, that person might report jisoo and its gonna be a bigger prob. But it doesnt mean that she made 0 problem, she made a bad decision by joining oji’s business and sometime she can’t control her own action. Kitae also was very very problematic here. He’s just full of himself. He didnt made a revenge bcs he love minhee, but bcs his pride was hurt coz other people (pimp) was involved.

Then, it got fairly dark and because I connected with the two main characters (Ji Soo and Gyuri), it made it a bit unpleasant to watch them get into bigger and bigger trouble, over time..

Also, near the end, it really turned me off, when the Seo Min Hee character acted like Ji Soo had badly wronged her and the Ji Soo character seemed to think the same thing.. This didn't make any sense to me, as as far as I can tell, the Seo Min Hee character freely chose her actions.

All in all, it had a fairly interesting and engaging premise, that carried it well for the first 5 episodes, or so. Then, it seemed to me like the writer sort of meandered around, with the final intention of teaching a morality lesson, at the end.. Which I also found off-putting..

I think what would have greatly improved it would have been if Ji Soo and Gyuri had somehow triumphed at the end and Ji Soo was able to somehow obtain enough money to pay for the rest of high school and Hagwon (academic cram school)..

I even thought there would be an epilogue or something though I’m glad there wasn’t. Gave the ending the thrill it needed. The main character reacted on impulse the way a teen in his position would. I liked how he didn’t change too much to make it a typical moral lesson drama or heroic drama. It was brilliant. Totally worth binging.

At first I thought it would be just a typical high school drama but as I watched it further more and more shocking things was in the drama. All characters plays their role well. I didn't think there's character that unnecessary since all of them has part in the story. Oh jisoo, the main character was the one that I pity the most. All he wants was a normal life and a great future so he works hard to collect money then when he was about to reach his goal, his dad stole his money. To be honest, everything went fcked up when Bae Gyuri involved. She wants to join Jisoo's business to help him collect money back and to run away from being at home but everything went so wrong ?. If only she didn't stole Oh Jisoo's phone everything will be fine. However what Jisoo is doing is wrong. He is literally running a prostitution business and he is a minor on top of that. I agree that he has to be stopped eventually but if Gyuri didn't stir the situation, maybe he could stop his wrongdoing quietly and live a normal life. As for Minhee, I really hate the fact that she was playing victim. It's true that Oh Jisoo is the big boss in the business but he didn't force her to be one of the prostitute. She's doing it on her own will to get money for her boyfriend. Kwak kitae was a pimp. He was trying to blame anyone else because his girlfriend involved in that kind of business when in fact, she did it on her own will because he keeps demanding money from his girlfriend. Mr Lee is the most noble character. He did the right thing and sacrifice himself at the end. Honestly he deserves better.

This drama has an open ending but I really do want to think that both of them (Jisoo and Gyuri) got caught in the end because that's what they deserve.

When I stop to think about the series as a whole I notice the gaps and unrealistic points in the plot. But when you are watching the drama none of that really matters. I found myself focused on being frustrated by characters actions and excited for what happens next. I would give this drama a 7.5/10 I want to say an 8/10 but I think they could have explored Jisoo's "wolfish side" a lot better since he was the main lead. Other than that the script was pretty good and the actors were awesome. It was my first time seeing some of them act and I loved it. They either made me really hate or love their character. I know it's not common but if they were to release a season 2 I would watch it.

For this drama, choosing 10 episodes was good, it was always high paced and never became boring to me. Regardless, maybe choosing 10 episodes only wasn't the best choice, as the open ending wasn't very good.

The ending became messy and as Gyuri and especially Jisoo got into more and more trouble, I think it would've been better to give the drama either a complete ending or at least more hints as to how it may have finished. Here's to hoping this drama gets a very much needed second season.

I really liked Gyuri. She was fierce and planned things out well. Jisoo on the other hand, I think he was a weak character. It would've suited him better to grow stronger over the series. To be honest, I think both of them would've deserved a bad ending, especially after Jisoo didn't help Minhee.

The acting is brilliant though. The array of topics the series touches upon is also commendable.

This show had my hopes really high, I thought it was going to be one of my top drama but after watching two episodes with the annoying gyu ri, I couldn’t watch it anymore longer. Firstly, i dont understand why the director had to make such an annoying plot with that girl. Next, I honestly think the actress could not play that role, i mean someone like seo yi jin would’ve killed that role! Genuinely could not continue the show as it just got frustrating to see ji soo being so weak. He had that business for ??! years? But he still lost the phone?

From the first episode until the end, I didn't see any ridiculous plot hole. Everything is smoothly connected, and I'm glad I didn't drop it down just because of annoying Gyuri. Kim Dong Hee acting is amazing and other casts as well, especially Nam Yoon Soo. Two thumbs up for all crew who made this series! Really need season 2.

This is not your ordinary school drama; is also filled with a lot of action and the theme gets dark real quick. I’ll be the first to admit it; I’ve never seen a Korean drama or a western show with this kind of plot ( so kudos to the director and the writer).

Both the main Leads were phenomenal and they put on a show that I will remember for a long time; they both have a very bright future. Kim Dong hee already won my heart with his performance in Sky Castle so their is no suprise he was this good. The relationship between Seo min hee and mr Lee was very special and it made the drama 10 times better.

Oh Ji Soo really should have gone with bae Gyu Ri the first time she asked him to go to Sidney; was really shouting at the screen when he didn’t ??

So im done watching now and im just sitting here thinkin damn Kim Dong Hee god damn where tf did u learn to act so good. Btw my favorite genre is action and when i say action i mean killing gore blood guns all that so when i was watching this i was just so frikin happy. But yeah i really like how they portrayed what can go on in a young persons mind. And that even the smartest kids go through trouble and that everyone not perfect. Im mean imma just say it imma a teen too and like i be havin problems too. But i was really satisfied on how they did everything. The director did an awesome job director=best boy. - SPOILERS** Jisoo said in one of the later episodes, and the homeroom teacher Mr Cho deducted, that the problem with Jisoo and Gyuri is that they're both brilliant students but lack sensitivity for others.

I think this drama makes a good point about the dark secrets young people may hide behind a normal everyday life, and all the access they have to the depths of the internet in this day and age. And then also the after-effects of dipping your fingers into the life of crime in a way that seems petty at first but snowballs into disaster.

This drama makes you question everything. You can't help but sympathise with Jisoo who is just trying to make a future for himself, but in the wrong way. Gyuri wants an escape from her own personal hell, and Minhee is just naive and surrounded by the wrong people, but she's not completely unaware of her actions either.

The acting in this drama is brilliant, not one actor did a poor job. And the two mains are young but really held the show together.

This drama is a rollercoaster and not for the faint of heart. It was incredible and I have 0 regrets. This will sit on my recommended list for a long time.

jojo Jun 01 2020 3:21 pm this drama really made me question my own morals and values, my conception of right and wrong... it makes you emphatise with a literal pimp and a sociopath. you unintentionally begin to find them symphatetic while exploring their backstories and motives. and the acting... oh god... two main leads and ki-tae are freaking shining throughout the series. such passionate and natural performances... my only crtisizm may be some of the "bad guys" were a bit cartoonish. and i expected more depth for the teacher and police officer. there was also a somewhat unique cinematography with creative shots and capture of emotion. lastly, the writing in this is gonna keep you awake at night, leave you craving for more.

The acting of the two leads in this was outstanding and the story line was not easy to predict. Although the ending left a lot to be questioned, I thought that it was perfect for the story. Even the whole plot of this drama was unique and refreshing-it's not often to find a kdrama based upon such an unpleasant crime. There were a lot of moments where I felt so angry at how the characters reacted in situations, yet it worked so well that it still left me feeling a connection with them.

Most of the leads are new but their facial expressions are almost always on point and natural. I must say this isn't for the young. I think this drama's main target audience are the adults. Some people in social media tend to blame the characters for what happened. That would defeat the purpose though. It shows the dark reality of students and how society and the adults have failed to properly guide these young people. I think this is the real goal of the writer.

Hero remains just as passive as he was on episode one, Heroine remains just as much of a closed book to hero as she did on episode two. There is significant room for a second season, but there is enough closure to end it here. I guess Netflix will make the call based on ratings and reviews. Personally, I feel the story arcs of hero and heroine are lacking, and hence a second season is essential to develop their characters, either into better people or into worse.

Jisoo took the wrong way to earn money but he's just a teenager with no love and no supporting parents, and he has to defend his life and his dream to live normally. But, I can't hate gyuri. She got no love in her family. She's in anger and disappointment. She has started it wrongly but she does care about jisoo. The open ending just let me to think that these two can go abroad or somewhere else to start new life and support each other. They know the other's darkest side and they still keeping together. About minhee, I feel sorry for her. But I think she's just selfish. She blamed jisoo for everything because he's the real uncle. I know she's really sad because of mr lee but no one forced her to do the job. She's the one who always asked for the job. To share the money with persons who keep you safe when you did the job is the rule that she knew from the start. She could disagree about the rule, but she didn't, so why she's so mad at jisoo? She just wanted someone to be blamed to decrease her guilty feeling about mr lee. And kwakki just a jerk. I feel so sorry about Mr. Lee. This drama is the best one. Love it.

They are not bad or good they are just real ( Great real acting).I mean they never received love, Ji Soo s father is only after money, and Gyu-Ri s parents only wants a successor they can control. The output is not so surprising. They are a few times I though “no don’t do that, that’s stupid!” But with so much pressure and blood its actually more accurate to act stupid no matter how smart you are. The two I couldn’t stand is Min-hee and Ki-tae, they are so hypocrites. They both enjoyed the money with no question asked, and when things get uncomfortable they all blame it on the uncle. But o well, no story without it. The ending is killing me... but I’m not sure about a 2nd season. I personally think this drama have been made to send a message: no happy ending on this path. Shocking and dissuasive, a bit like Requiem for a dream. The two leads personalities / relationships is to me the heart of the drama. I found it beautiful how they embrace each other darkest sides, when they both acte sweet to the rest of the world.

Shire May 15 2020 10:26 pm Let me tell you, if you only like rom-com, this drama is not for you. On the surface, it looks like another typical highschool drama, but nope...you're in for a crazy ride. This drama gets dark very quickly as it is also fast-paced. Now, for the review.

I just binged it within 2 days. This was a rollercoaster from start to finish but it's honestly a really damn great drama! Just when you thought things couldn't get worst, another twist in the story comes. At the end of the drama, the only thing on my mind was "What the hell?" because of how seriously crazy it got. People hate the characters so much, but if you think about it, the male lead, Jisoo, was never a bad guy...he didn't have malicious intentions. Gyuri is a necessary character and her personality might not be likeable at first but she was pretty badass at some points. I mean, to be able to hate the characters that much, you gotta admit the actors/actresses are amazing. Can't believe they made me hate them and feel sympathy at some points.

It was so fast-paced that it's still taking a lot to process the hell I just watched but I assure you this is worth your 10 hours. There's action, a ton of thriller/suspense, plot twists, comic relief, and romantic tension. To top it off, it's a very REAL drama, it never sugarcoats things. 10/10 for me.

Too many K-dramas that gain traction in international markets are disposable rom coms with sophomoric dialogs and an irritating amount of product placement moments. And in order to like this drama you have to observe how the characters change. If you think about it you're basically watching two teenagers losing their mental sanity and dragging everything down with them. Its raw and thats what makes this drama so good. Every character is hateable and loveable at the same time. This drama is not about some crime a loser student commits. Its about how the system, society and standards can drive unordinary people to insanity. And this drama did an incredible job at showing this.

alex May 12 2020 1:07 pm I absolutely loved this show. My kdrama ratings are very low usually but this kdrama got a 9.9 out of 10 so it is the best kdrama I have ever watched. I've seen some people saying that the charcters are annoying and I have to disagree. in order for the characters to be realistic, they have to be diverse and make mistakes, like any human-beings. Plus, they are teenagers so it is obvious that they will make questionable decisions sometimes and get in a lot of trouble. I watched the show in one night and didn't go to sleep until 7 in the morning just to finish it. The ending is a cliffhanger so there will most definitely be a season 2 which I am extremely excited about. Usually kdramas are romantic so I see why some people wouldn't like this genre. I was hoping jisoo and gyu-ri would end up together but we'll have to wait for season 2 to see if this will happen or not. Overall, the plot was excellent, the acting was extremely good conidering the fact that most of the actors have never had a main role so I absolutely recommend it.

He knew after all they had done, they couldn't live happily watching koalas and kangaroos, so one of them should take the blame. But on this sincere path of love, he gell too deep into the pit. The moment I saw he di't help Minhee but took her phone instead I knew there is no room for turning back... i just hope Minhee won't suffer anymore, be it alive or dead, sleeping peacefully. Kitae probably survived and Jisoo too. I just hope he receives his punishment and can't flee to another country, like he did in Itaewon Class> <

I get somehow why Minhee is upset but I still don't get why she is so upset?? Like she was the one who searched Uncle for a job and then she wanted to work even if she clearly had a problem. Nobody forced her to do it. Why is she so mad at Jisoo? and doing all that drama like look I am so hurt, you hurt me so bad. Also, about the money thing. Someone offered you a job, you had your back covered, so why do you think you have to get all the money? The money are split between you and the other 2. Simple as that. And let's not talk about the fact that ALL of this was 99% because of her. The 1% was because of Baeggyul. She knew it was a day off and she knew that was a X listed client. She bought it herself. All the situations point at her and she still sees herself as victim here, which she isn't. The biggest victim here is Mr. Lee...

Min May 09 2020 3:17 am I was excited when I checked the trailers but ended up being disappointed by half of the first episode. It felt like being forced or some kind of impulsive plot. I should drop it but I continued to the last episode to assure and to get a better perspective, yet still, I didn't get the thrill and curiosity as it is in the psychological or thriller serials. Just my opinion, if there were no Gyuri and Minhee, this drama would offer a smooth brainiac crime. But I had no idea why those characters were for. Maybe they were the 'Arturito' in this drama. And for me, the real MVP was not Jisoo, but Mr. Lee.

I think comparing it to dramas like Itaewon Class should take place, because those two dramas are too different and revolve about different topic that it would be just not right. Their vibe, feeling, impression that they intend to leave on the viewers differ a lot. Here it is very mysterious and there are a lot of, let me call them, "hight sensitivity feelings" (I wanted to stop these series so much because I was getting so excited in a very positive way for the directors and writers). My rating for this drama is 10 out of 10, because it reached the top of every single level in my opinion. Also, all the props to the authors for getting the taboo topic out there. Bravo!!!!

Ria May 06 2020 10:21 pm This drama is a wild ride from start to finish. Extremely entertaining but incredibly dark, you're basically watching two high school students gradually descend into madness. I honestly feel like you start this drama really rooting for the protagonists and sympathize with them, but by the end you will hate them so much to the point that I wouldn't want a season 2. Plot is super well-written in my opinion, but the main character's constant psychological issues almost just get in the way of a smooth viewing, to the point where you're watching him cry and stammer for half the episodes, with little to no actual character development. I'll admit I didn't leave this drama with the same enthusiasm I had when I started it, but still don't regret watching it. A dark and raw teenage crime drama like this isn't easy to find, and it does the job.

It's dark, realistic and the characters are potraying the 'normal' high-school students really well. It's not they are all psychos. I would imagine the way they acted would be exactly what would happen in real life if some bunch of brats involved in an illegal act. I did find some characters are annoying but then again, it's realistic. Kudos to all the crews involved in this production and the actors!

She came into Jisoo's life and messed everything up....and then she demands him to be a part of his operation and starts demanding that he does things her way and expand. And then she demands a share of his pay...even though she is literally from a rich family and has complete financial security. This was enough to make dislike her but not enough to make me hate her as much as I do now. When she refused to play along with Jisoo over the phone when he was about to be murdered iced the cake. And then she dared have the nerve to be angry with him afterwards.

Korean May 06 2020 9:08 pm It's kinda sad that some people think that all kdramas are all romantic and are supposed to be "light and fluffy." There are so so so many genres in kdramas. Tbh netflix has the "cheesiest" set of dramas because apparently Netflix found that those are the types of kdramas that international viewers tend to like most. And that's one of the reasons this drama is getting a lot of hate, bc it doesn't fall in line with that. I personally felt like this was poorly executed. But also as a Korean, you know none of the actors (except Choi min soo) are really reknown as top actors - so idk how to really explain it, but I didn't have high expectations and just watched it with an open mind. I'm not bashing on any of the actors/actresses. I personally really like some of them a lot. Also on netflix, I recommend "Voice" and "Signal" and "Stranger" for good thrillers. I believe other countries are remaking these dramas because they were so popular.

But I feel like it's a bit ... waste of time when I finished lol. The drama is a bit slow and have many flaws. I felt bored with first ep. but it takes time to warm up and get better with ep.2-3. It's such a waste that the storyline is quite interesting and have potential so I'll blame the writer here lol. Overall 6/10 for at least make me finish the drama.

Actually characters of Jisoo and Gyuri are interesting but it's a waste again, that it's not well written. As many comments here, it's very frustrating to watch them do many stupid mistakes as I sometimes confused whether they're indeed smart or not, though some may argue that this will make the drama more real as they're just a teenager. I don't expect the smartest move from them but at least the drama should make it fun to watch or make me root for them more since the protagonist is actually a criminal, but instead at the end it left you the feeling of frustration and irritation and I don't have any sympathy left for them (unless next season the writer write something good) so I hope they will get punishment at the end.

If you are expecting smart moves or something nearing it, forget it. This isn't an story about smart criminals, it's all about highschoolers who don't really know what they are doing. The male lead was doing well (nothing exceptional, just well enough), but he gets blackmailed by a female classmate. As he looses everything he has accomplished so far, the female lead forces him into accepting her into the business. Everything goes down up until the end, in a really frustrating way - sometimes even infuriating.

But these ones are young and broken so I can understand them. Minhee and Kitae's characters didn't make sense to me though: Minhee prostitutes herself for her shitty boyfriend but by the end she acts like a victim and blames Jisoo for the fact everything is hell at the end (nobody forced you girl!); and Kitae is a piece of trash who doesn't love Minhee but suddenly gets revenge for her at the end. This story could have been much better, it was kind of all over the place, with cliche k-drama scenes and characters mixed with more daring aspects.

An awkward teenager, a fiery teenager, a confused young impressionable teenager all portrayed well, I'd find it weirder if it was overly acted out, they're just high schoolers. Also, I love how this drama had little OSTs and awkward poses like other kdramas and the swearing and raw language, that's more like itttttttt. WAY more realistic than the way adults and teenagers are portrayed in other dramas. 10/10, would deffo recommend. Well done to all the actors and Netflix, hope it becomes crazy popular

I will say that both Jisoo and Gyuri really infuriated me like how do they constantly make so many bad decisions... I ended up seriously hating them by the last episode. Couldn’t sympathise with any of the main leads because they’re basically criminals. Minhee was the only one who I felt some sympathy for.

Anyway, acting was really good and storyline was interesting. The plot developments were good. It ended on a cliffhanger which was a bit annoying. All in all I’d give it a 6/10. It’s definitely worth a watch if you want something different from your average rom-com kdrama.

chuchu May 01 2020 3:13 pm @eunasdad "felt so western" the whole story is set in korea and sadly inspired by things that happen in south korea. its a youth drama it is made for teenagers whats you say its sending a message to kids like thats bad? you act like korea is a romance drama lol so refrencing a show that many koreans have watched is "western" hm please visit korea you have a rose tinted view. the story was not straightforward it had a lot of twists and built up tension nothing was straighforward. mr lee is a side character the whole story is about the teenagers. maybe you are too old for shows like this i think there is many romance story dramas or cliche revenge drama for you to choose from :)

Even Mr. Lee's story could have been better. Didn't feel anything towards the end. I thought it was going to be better when I saw Park Ho-San only to realize he had a short role. The idea for the story is great.. but really felt like they're just trying to send a message to the kids. Looking back, this felt so Western. Even referencing Dexter.

If you want a cookie cutter kdrama then this is not for you, this is for anyone who likes raw and real story telling as it covers sex, mental health, relationships, etc. (If you like OCN dramas then this might be for you but I have to say this drama is much more real). My sisters and I finished it in two days and we found it refreshing even if it is dark, even our mom overheard us watching it (the part when kyuri spoke about her suicide attempt) and said she was surprised about the intimate real sitatuions and watched it with us.

Acting from the main cast (Donghee, Joohyun, Dabin, Yoonsoo) is fantastic, each of them portray their characters perfectly.Each of their character has their flaws and perfections they each bring something to the story and the actors did a great job of making them come to life.

Amazing original story too. I see people saying the acting was bad or the cinematography was lacking, nope this is a exciting korean netflix original with good actors. Watch it!

The plot was unexpected and so intense, the acting also was so dark and intense. No need for long monologues, this 10 episodes made me feel the actors feelings and I hope for more seasons. They really can tell more. Kim Dong Hee and and Joo hyun did a great job. I'm looking forward for more of their movies

Netflix usually bring it with their shows and films this drama was lacking. Other than that it was okay. Definitely didnt live up to expectations because the story was so fresh and exciting and it was a letdown with the lukewarm acting of most of the cast. The quality was cheap only 10 episodes and they didnt spend time improving the cinematography. Waste of a good storyline really. But good to watch to pass time its ok.
