Notes

Song Joong-Ki began his mandatory military enlistment on August 27, 2013. Around 1 PM, he entered the 102 Replacement Center in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province. He will undergo training for a 5 week period, before being deployed.
Song Joong-Ki was discharged from the military at 8AM on May 26, 2015 in Goseong, Gangwon Province, South Korea.
Management companies for both performers announced that Song Joong-Ki and Song Hye-Kyo married on October 31, 2017.
Representatives for Song Joong-Ki and Song Hye-Kyo announced on June 27, 2019 that the couple are in the process of getting divorced.

I've watched 94 series and a few movies in the past year because the scripts are great, and the actors not only are talented but gorgeous and I can watch these with my father since there is no sex in them!

Like he's so amazing, his looks are so drool worthy he's extremely sexy when he fights and not to mention how hot it is hearing him speak other languages(personal best is English next to Italian) I love cha young and vincenzo their ship is lit, I prefer them to sijin and moyeon. Cash Aug 22 2021 8:32 am I love this guy so much and his visuals alone get me to watch a thing he is in. I wish they would translate all of his movies into English. He could be wayyyyy bigger than Jackie Chan or any other Asian actor. I started watching Vincenzo out of Borden one day and was like this guy is so smooth and funny. He is well rounded with drama, action and comedy. You don’t find stars like this anymore that can tap into every element of your spirit. After benge watching Vincenzo I saw his face on an add for Arthdal Cronicles and now I’m a super fan period. I watched the entire thing in sub titles which I hate but he is soooo worth the watch and read. Don’t for my hand though. I’d much prefer it all in my home language but I’ll buy whatever he is selling no matter what.

Arthdal Fan Jul 04 2021 2:47 pm For the new fans coming after Vincenzo and Space Sweepers. Watch Arthdal Chronicles please, so that many fans will demand for Season 2. This drama really Needs a season 2 because the main OTP were Never reunited after episode 2, the villains were not defeated, and the story has NO Conclusions. Just watch Arthdal, you'll understand why a season 2 is much much needed.

I know a lot of people ship him with his Vincenzo costar, but I don't think it will happen after all SJK has been through (a divorce with one of Korea's biggest hallyu stars who was also his costar in one of the most popular kdramas ever). Just because he seems sweet to his Vincenzo costar does not mean he's into her, he's been sweet with many of his female costars, in fact during Descendants of the Sun era there was shipping fanwar between his Descendants female lead (actress who became his ex wife) and his female lead in Innocent Man. When he got married, some of his Innocent Man shippers started hating on him, then his Descendants of the Sun shippers hated him when he got divorced. So if you ship him and Vincenzo costar (or any other female lead), please be careful, and please understand why most of his long time fans don't want the shipping drama anymore. I'm not saying that it is 100% sure that he would never date his Vincenzo costar (or any other recent female lead) but dating a costar is just so farfetched after all he has experienced. Unlike most popular actor oppas (ex: Lee Min Ho, Kim Soo Hyun, Park Seo Joon, Lee Joon Gi, Hyun Bin), he is a divorcee (to an extremely popular Korean actress), that's why I'm kinda protective of him from future shipping drama.

(I'm exhausted from extraneous "real world" scenes like toilet trips, nudity and gutter talk). Soon Joong-K is the perfect choice for this self contained, complex lead character. He doesn't overact, but commands attention not just because he's a handsome young man; but, because he's able to use subtle facial expressions as well gestures to get a response. The unusually well written dialogue is perfectly suited to his character. The contrast with the lead female character is a delight to behold. I haven't seen anything this much fun in about 40 years! Kudos to the cast and writer!

Alas, I doubt Mr. Soon is into older, married women, so I'll just have to enjoy his further performances.

I have been watching Korean dramas since 2005. While I watch both historical and modern dramas, I sensed that actors in historical dramas needed to be extra talented because of the different language, horse-riding requirements (for males), knowledge from that era, etc. Despite feeling that it might have a more modern feel, I decided to still watch Sungkyunkwan Scandal because it's still a historical one. That's how I discovered SJK. His role as Gu Yong Ha/Yeorim is played effortlessly by him that I really believed he was the character. Watching that drama almost 10 years ago, I remembered he was the one that catched my eye due to his good acting/bonus good looks. I researched him and was very impressed of what I read about him back in 2010. After that, I read that he had a four episode cameo in another historical drama then becoming more famous through his first leading drama (with one of my favorite historical drama actresses Moon Chae Won), but I lie low in fangirling him due to focusing more on Musicals/Disney at the time. Then I decided to watch his cameo in drama Tree With Deep Roots, and boy was I seriously impressed with his acting as the young King Sejong. All his scenes in that dramas was great. It was then that I thought he should join the ranks with my favorite Historical drama actors (Song Il Gook, Bae Soo Bin, Kim Nam Gil, Ha Ji Won, Moon Geun Young, Moon Chae Won, Kim Yoo Jung). I was more impressed when I read that he was offered a lot of leading roles before accepting this cameo (due to Sungkyunkwan drama) but he chose this since it would make him a better actor. I also like him in Arthdal Chronicles as the twins. I like how different he plays each twin. I think his acting as Saya is fantastic too. I've only seen clips of Descendants of the Sun, Nice Guy/Innocent Man (drama with Moon Chae Won) and Werewolf Boy, but I really like what I see of him from there. I hope people don't think of him as overrated simply because he was lucky to be in DOTS. He is extremely talented, gives all in his acting, and deserves praise for it. :) :) Peace ....

The comic relief throughout this drama. Never knew how skillful his acting is. I've never seen him being this funny. He truly is blessed with wonderful acting skills. Handsome so very handsome he is. Love that corky smile of his. Such a dream boat he is. This drama is 8 yrs old however he hasn't aged at all. Lucky guy. Wish him cont success wether in acting r other mentions. Fell flat on my face watching the rooftop helicopter scene, when Shijin looks at the actress before entering the helicopter. U sure are a gifted actor Sir, who performs naturally. You're really a great actor, elite in your own craft. Excellence is the equivalent word for you. For me, DOTS wouldn't be as successful as it is if you're not the one who portray Yo Shi- Ji because your looks plus the guts you added on it makes you more adorable and the story exciting. I look forward to watching DOTS part 2 with the same actors. DOTS has 16 episodes but for all the fans around the world, it's too short for a very nice story. ;)

But, after seeing DOTS and his recent interview with kbs channel I started admiring him.Drama character success goes to writers this is what I believe.They are the true talents, off course the person taking up the acting too. Its a combination. But Joon ki as a person, I never knew. He loves his job and he is mature enuf to tell he still need to do lot of work to take credit of being called hallyu star. He was just not being humble but plainly stating facts. As a person I started admiring him. We get a sneak peak in to his thoughts and how he channels those thoughts in to action. Even thought I can never get to know him personally to say the same, I wish you inspire all around you in becoming and achieving their best. In his interview "I am really content with my life of an actor" well it tells how serious he takes his job , how many thoughts and efforts he has put to become what he is today.

Since then I have been following all of his projects. When he enlisted I was very gloomy. I am not sure, how long can I be your fan cause my mind always change. Sometime I like this actor or actress but next time I hate them. Never come back to see them again. Before I am Thai drama fan but now never watch Thai drama anymore. I am afraid next time would be Korean Drama will be the other one that I will stop to watch.

SJK is really skilled in his craft, so much that in, The Innocent Man", you can really feel the role he is portraying-you want to laugh and cry with him. I actually feel he made his role in SKKS the main attraction. The "playboy" new it was a girl before anyone else even suspected (holding her close at he 1st meet, rubbing his thumb over hand and the expression on his face...) Oh!, Don't forget going to determine the truth, or, rather to see a woman's naked body. He had already stolen my heart, but he comes back again looking more like a 16 year old, A Werewolf Boy, perfecting the role without any lines. Those eyes could say a thousand words, the facial expressions (his trademarks, and the voice) and the body gestures are outstandingly phenomenal. I eagerly await his upcoming project(s)!

Almost all of his profects I've seen.. He delivered satisfying acting skill in every single project. Now he's doing marvelous act in Innocent Man. shawn Sep 03 2012 2:12 pm I heard he was in a new TV drama called Nice Guy starting this month, but i don't see it. Looks like a different character type for him though.

I enjoy watching shows with him in it, he has great aura and relationship with the camera. loved his character in Sungkyunkwan Scandal the most, but enjoyed some of his other stuff too.

I fell in love with him in Tree with Deep Roots, and I was so surprised and delighted to see him in Sungkyunkwan Scandal. He did such an convincing job playing completely different roles in both dramas. I'll be checking out his films now. But seriously, directors need to let him play more lead roles!

Miss S Dec 11 2011 5:53 am Just came back from watching his latest film "Penny Pinchers", and I must say that he was the driving force behind the film. It wasn't an Oscar-worthy film, but he was so damn charming and witty that it made the entire film worthwhile. His acting range is quite impressive! He delivered some totally LOL moments along with some more poignant, touching scenes. I would recommend this movie to anyone who wants to watch Song Joong Ki as a lead actor.

By the way, his skin is BABY FRESH, omfg. I'm so jealous, lol.
