Kim Young-Kwang completed public service work from December 12, 2013 through June, 2014. His public service work took the place of military service which is required for most men in South Korea. Because his father served in the Vietnam War, Kim Young-Kwan was eligible to perform 6 month public service work rather than the standard 18 month military service.

Currently Watching Evilive and will be moving to walking on thin ice next. All three movies are highly recommended by the way. Not just because of him, but also the drama plot. TPuevas30 Dec 28 2025 3:02 am I watched some of his dramas like On Her Wedding cause I’m a fan of Park Boyong and watched also Trigger I liked it but mad at him because he’s bad and when I saw that drama The Secret of My Secretary I became his Fan I really liked him too especially in a role as an Executive who always wore a Suit and his acting there I loved him,I’m not a Fan of him before though I watched many of his Dramas he’s tall and I love and like him especially if he’s wearing a Suit and a long sleeve top he’s a model of course and so I’m planning to watch all his movies and dramas I love his face esp when he smiles I 3 Boys that’s why I’m 76 years old now and started watching KOREAN movies and dramas in 2021 since then and so I survived that Covid era by watching Korean dramas and movies ??

Loved the long hair - open chested white outfits… his beautiful smile - captivating eyes.. I’m not one to normally swoon but he has just become the sexiest man alive in my book

This was a very dramatic and yet exciting drama that it left me wanting more and to continue. I seriously hope that it does so well and the feedback is so overwhelming that they consider a season 2. I was actually hoping for idky but a little romantic feelings from the both of them as shocking as that may be but age is just a number after all. I'd be glad to step in and play the partjk jk jk. Still a very award winning performance on his part and everyone else's as well. I'm so sad it's over so pl ase don't take to long and get season 2 rolling!

Sep 18 2025 11:23 pm I just saw , secret life of my secretary , and I discovered another heart throb amazing actor , he reminded me as Lee Min Ho ,and huin bin combo ,the way he walks, his manners all were very captivating, I guess they all had modeling experiences , but wow , his facial expressions are very genuine and he totally personified his character , his chemistry with the main leads and supporting Cast is right on the spot . Now I’m going to google to check all his other dramas , and wonder why I have not noticed him before, this role was a good match to him ,it could be the director too , . He is that good . Bravo

LGIAM2011 Oct 26 2023 5:18 am @Noona, totally agree with you, he used to be quite popular in 2018, coz of the romcom movie with Park Bo Young, he was quite at the peak at the time. but then his dramas thereafter were not that popular, just so-so, not sure why, considering that he always took different roles in the dramas he was in. i only heard bout him before, i knew he was popular but never really watched any of his dramas when he was the male lead, until one day, i tried his melodrama, "call it love" this early 2023, since then i knew he was actually one of the best korean actors out there, i back tracked to all his older dramas, and he actually surprised me so much, specially when he acted as a psychopath killer at "Somebody" (though i don't like the plot), but his acting there was totally brilliant, he looked like a total different person, coz he usually acted in romcom dramas before. and now with evil live, he just totally exceeded my expectation, im glad that he is taking diverse roles like this.. though i really hope probably someday, he can go back to his roots, aka Romcom for once in a while so that probably people may see how versatile he is as an actor.

i hope more people will recognize him through Evil Live.

Yolanda Apr 21 2023 5:05 am I used to have Such a big crush on this man after I saw him in “On Your Wedding Day” because of his charisma, charm, smile, and abs ? But his performance in “Somebody” was just too much for me… that was absolutely p*rnographic. Have some modestly and leave Some things to the imagination pls. Seeing him pounding away in some woman while engaging in other perversities (he was playing a serial killer lmao) was a complete turn off. I get the whole argument of actors just being artists, but I think there’s a fine line between cinema and p*rnography and some cultural products are just not worth being made or produced…

LGIAM2011 Apr 02 2023 4:42 am @monji same as me, i've known his name from years ago.. when he acted in some hit dramas as second lead/supporting (pinnochio, good doctors, love rain..), but i didn't really notice/interest in him until i watched Call It Love... and i think he's trying to get more serious roles since somebody coz he doesn't want to be known only as romcom king, but actually, in between romcoms, he did several serious roles like in room no. 9 and look out, those two are great dramas too, and his acting was so good in both, specially in look out, he was liked acting dual roles in it. he was brilliant. so looking forward to his next project after call it love, where he will act together with shin ka hyun. i think it's going to be a heavy drama too.

Somebody was blown my mind how talented he his and felt so unfamiliar with his roles compared by his previous project. I'm glad he is finally going beyond by his own acting credibility. Not long after somebody here's come call it love. Another role far from his usual bubbly/cute character, his delivery every each pain in this series are insane I'm am urrently backtracked all his work

My favorite work of his is On Your Wedding Day with PBY. His acting is just superb.

I literally watch all his project (drama, film & show). How he can be different for every single character and none fit his real life character. I think his best project will be lookout, d day then hello me! I don't understand why people say he is romcom guy, I like him more in dark proj like lookout & room no 9. He really bring out the meaning diversity. Also love how the hoobae from his company always play minor role in his drama/film. The guy play as his driver in secret secretary. D day is a heavy drama and he was so damn good with his role. But I think after watching few of his Dramas honestly he's so much better doing funny/cheerful roles because he is just so natural. And cmon! Who wouldn't like to see more of those captivating smiles. They are so infectious and sooooo cute!

His father died after go back from Vietnam war and he took the burden to help his family financially. He delivered newspaper at young age, work at gas station .. He even joke that he is the best at filling up the gas. I think it made him a tough person and I hope he will get popular in future like his best friend, kim woo bin. Love you.

Now watching Good Doctor and wow, a complete 180, I love the warmth he brings in his character for Good Doctor. Definitely enjoyed these two of his roles. He does remind me of Kikwang from Beast but it should be the other way around considering age. xD Lol
