Han Dong-Soo (Shin Ha-Kyun) is a livelihood lawyer. He randomly picks a prisoner to visit and picks up a case. He is usually rational and reasonable, but deep within his mind exists a dark side. Something triggers him to cross the line and step into the world of evil. His younger half-brother is Han Beom-Jae (Shin Jae-Ha). Han Beom-Jae works at a second-hand computer shop and he also acts as a case broker for Han Dong-soo, bringing him clients. One day, Han Beom-Jae notices that Han Dong-Soo has changed since he brought him a case.

That case involves Seo Do-Young (Kim Young-Kwang) who is the #2 ranked member of a crime organization. He is a former baseball player and appears nothing like a typical gangster. Behind his handsome looks, he hides a cruel and unpredictable madness.

Aimen Nov 17 2023 1:18 pm Wowwwwwww, wowwww, wowwwwww...I'm not a big fan of this genre but this was a crazyyyyyyyyy amazing ride for me... There was No boring episode, no badly written character...Everything was perfect, especially the cast and the acting....10/10, highly recommended if youre a fan of this genre...... I dont wanna give any spoilers but I loved certain characters soooooooo much and my heart ached whenever something happened to them....

One person that was highly underrated in this series was Kwon OhJae played by actor Bae NaRa....Like man was soooooooo daym handsome..Wowwww♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡??????

btw goosebumps! He never disappoint me, his acting, charisma and vibe and oh visual!!! top notch. A villian and psycho suits him so well, it showcase his talents.

And what scarier than him in Evilive? Him in Somebody! OMG. even his glasses reminds me of dahmer. ( & he's hot in both characters)

Bas Nov 16 2023 7:32 am This series is for sure on the top 5 Korean dramas I will surely watch again. I loved the storyline and character development.

The ending is beyond what I expected — if you enjoy watching series that are realistic and depicts human nature, this is the one. The main character's struggle, heartaches and transcendence is what makes this show on point.

Chancellor 7 Nov 14 2023 8:49 am Wow what a powerful series - I would give it a 9 or 10. I just so wish things didn’t have to get so dark for example the detective, and Beom Jae. Shin Jae Ha did amazing acting as Beom Jae. His eyes you could see the sadness and honesty.

Hans wife was also realistic, I hate when other shows make wives crazy women that will only make matters worse by telling the police or just screaming and shouting at their husband. Evilive showed a loving wife excellently.

There were so many opportunities for Attorney Han to get out the right way and take the money and start afresh. I really also like Do-Young, I really hoped their friendship would end in a good way, with a successful honest business empire!

Producers take note! This is how you produce a good gangster k-drama

King Nov 14 2023 6:02 am This series is one of the best series ever to be created, it is Soo mush realistic, it's shows how the human would strive to gain more than he anticipated, and the ending was so much realistic because if it was me after going through everything he went through in the movie I won't leave that gangster life behind because I have gone to far to do that to, nice one directors and script wrighters

Bas Nov 09 2023 8:14 am 10/10 not your typical villain vs villain story. It showcases human nature — in a world full of hurting, you can choose to feel the pain and lose Or feel the pain and win.

This show is underrated because it is produced by a smaller network. Kudos to the writers! I haven't enjoyed a Korean series in a long time. This is my first time in 4 years leaving a comment here, it pushed me, this is how good the series is.

I feel seo do young character is a pathetic pos and has no depth and has no principles or character as a thug. Like in gangs there are some codes, he has none and is a coward ready to kill or endanger even closest ones who helped him most like han dong soo specially there was no reason for him to throwdkng soo before attorney moon for a fight.

Jeannie DeGruccio Nov 02 2023 6:44 pm If I could vote 100% I would have. The cast in this drama is so amazing. Kim Young-Kwang is such a complex, effortlessly cool evil villain. He just can't be compared to anyone. Shin Ha-Kyun is one of my all time favorite actors. If you haven't watched Beyond Evil with him, you have to! His acting is just....Amazing! Shin Jae-Ha is also stellar in this and holds his own with those 2 powerhouses. I first fell in love with Jae-Ha is Prison Playbook. I'm really enjoying this drama!!

Dong Soo is learning to be strong, and now he is not putting his talent to waste.

I don’t agree with the gangster lifestyle, but Young Kwang was thrown away after his baseball career, and sometimes the people who have been thrown away are the ones that know how you feel when you are in trouble or hurting. It’s sometimes the “bad guys” that will care the most for you. I’ve learnt that too in life and even in my school days.

Even though they are gang members, I love that there is some humanity and brotherly love in this show. I like that the show is balanced, not too much failure and not too much victory, not too much evil and not too much good.

I just love Dong-Soo’s family, his wife so lovely, little Min Hee so sweet and of course Beom Jae. I saw Shin Jae Ha in Taxi Driver 2 and since then I’m a fan of his versatility. He seems even younger here, that shows how good of an actor he is. I even like Dong-Soo’s old lawyer friend from the Moon law firm. Even Dong-Soo’s police officer neighbour. Just lovely people, and that’s what you need in life.

Wow so much I can say about Kim Young-Kwang. I understand why some girls go for bad boys. I wish I had those legs. Very cool and handsome as Do-Young, with many layers. You just want to understand him and see him laugh haha. It’s nice to see his soft side showing now that he has made Dong Soo his friend!

Yoori Oct 31 2023 4:19 am Young Kwang is leveling up to be the most versatile actor, beside that he is so hot ??. Shin Ha Kyun has been a great actor all the time. I’m quite enjoying these drama knowing that this might end up in tragedy. I’m expecting that it will get darker in the coming episodes because of Dong So”s changes but I hope in the end he will choose the right thing.

Noona Oct 26 2023 3:05 am Aimen, can't agree more. Found that those mentally unsound etc , not what we normal beings can help. They need professionals cos they have imbalances that's inborn for most. We may out out ourselves in danger if we try. Not to discourage but best do it with professionals if one wants to help. This shows really depicts how Evil can be so Evil!

Noona Oct 26 2023 3:00 am Not Doona, not Moving, not any of my fav actor's drama of late ( this is just my opinion), Eviline's the best of 2023 for me. This is so under rated & that's why I'm commenting. Young Kwang's superb in this role. His acting & physique, charisma killed it. Ha Kyun's acting has been lauded but I've not been hooked to his drama til now. Definitely will trace & watch all their movies dramas. I've also took notice of Jae Ha, he's a good actor to watch out for. For me, a drama has to get me hooked from Ep1 and this did. Script's able to get my sympathy for the poor lawyer. I also feel for Do Young who's incredibly smart, tho a traid. If you like triad drama movies, MUST WATCH!

LGiam2011 Oct 23 2023 7:31 pm watched until episode 4.. wow it was intense and fast paced. everyone is perfect fit for each of their roles..Kim Young Kwang is so fit as ruthless & calculative Seo Do Young.. i really love the drama's concept, it's villain vs villain, evil vs evil.. just remind me of what vincenzo said "only villain can punish the other villain" (something like that). go watch it everyone it.. it's really a great noir drama.
