Hong Na-Ri works as a flight attendant. Her mother passed away 10 months ago and she doesn't have any other immediate family members. Hong Na-Ri returns to her hometown to visit her mother's grave. There, she sees a young man at her mother's grave. The man, Go Nan-Gil, introduces himself as her father. Before Hong Na-Ri's mother died, she married Go Nan-Gil. He now lives at her mother's house and runs the small dumpling restaurant that her mother ran.

Chey Oct 16 2022 6:12 pm Loved this series so very much. I'm now a huge Soo As fan. Her energy, humor, and all around skill made it so much fun. I have loved Young Kwang since Can We Get Married (shout out to Han Groo.) The story was different and made it immediately interesting. It is completely underrated and under viewed. The 1st 8 reps. we're ?.

Then something changed but I still put this show in the top 10 of my shows. The 2nd half of the series felt dampened and lost its spark somewhere. To have Na-ri angry with Nan-gil honoring her mom's wishes felt bad/wrong etc and was used as conflict and separation. I disagreed with that totally. They still could've had stolen moments in greenhouse at lake etc. while everything was being worked out. There really was so much to pick from to keep them busy .?? But you inserted Kwon as the love interest

I think Lee Soo Hyuk was poorly used as the triangle male. Total waste. He was fine as the lawyer but should've been the "ear."

Felt nothing with he and Soo Ae. Jo Borah and he should've been the "awkward" fumbling to find each other couple off the bat. I get its from a webtoon but when you do an adaptation some things work and some things don't.

The chemistry between Na ri and Nan Gil was comfy and swoon even in conflict #hearts were on fire. There should have been at least 2 more eps. to properly deal with his PTSD, the tattoos on his back, Wan-sik's secret and the lying uncle they just glossed over. All in all I rate it a 9.4 and the OST was amazing.

J Jing Dec 14 2019 6:05 am hmm first 7 episodes were rly nice and fun. but it kinda get boring after that. tbh the 3 last episodes were though to go thru. i dunno the romance felt like a young couple met again after 30 years. and fail in love again so we have a old couple with legit 0 lust . pretty sad i didn't feel my heart beating fast at all. i kinda liked the second lead girl. her only downside would prob be goin out with those rich dudes for money.but somehow i rly liked her. i though we would have a romance between her and the second lead dude. sadly there is none. not even a kiss. tbh this is the third drama i saw in a roll and the first i wouldn't rly recommend.

Catch phrase "They legendary Ko Nan Gil is a man who loves one woman all his life". "Ko Nan Gil will marry Hong Na Ri" to make mom (Shim Jung Im) mine.

Chemistry beetween the main lead also a bit leak at their kissing screen( u will agree with me if u already watched his chemistry with yuri in go ho's starry night) 7/10 rate from me.

A Jun 14 2017 5:42 pm This drama is literally a must-watch. I'm adding to my list of very few dramas that I actually love. Because this drama is one of the dramas that I'm excited to watch every time I wake up in the morning and at night, I've been sleeping very late lately just because of this drama. I'm currently binge watching this drama. The good thing is that the drama already finished so I wouldn't have to wait every week for a new ep. Anyways although the couple here is a bit taboo because they're stepfather and daughter but if you think about it more they actually can be a couple. I am so absorb with the story and eventhough the couple here has a huge age gap, I actually want to ship them. Bad. (Sorry in advance if one of them is currently taken. Oops.)

ai Jun 13 2017 8:56 am I don't understand how people find this drama disappointing and boring. I just started this drama and so far for me this drama is quite good. I wouldn't exactly say it's one of the best but it's better than most of the popular dramas. For days I watched a number of old popular dramas because I had nothing else to watch. This is the only one that I stumbled upon on that didn't bore me to death right from the start. Although I do admit it's a bit confusing at first because Go Nan Gil really came out of nowhere and had too many secrets and the drama is a bit absurd because Go Nan Gil (who is waaay younger than Na Ri) calls himself as her father. But I think that's a really unique plot. This drama is simple but unique. And I'm expecting that some found the female lead annoying. I think they just made the character more realistic. If I was in her position I'd act the same way. I think everyone will. But I wont trust a random guy who came out of nowhere easily. Especially if he had no relation to our family but he gets all the hard work our family earned instead of their child. Give that a recap and you'd think the male lead's character already seems shady. Therefore I give this drama a 7/10. Plot is unique and they tried their best to portray the characters in a realistic way. I am a very picky person when it comes to the films and dramas and series that I watch. I'd recommend this especially when you have already watched every drama out there and have nothing else to watch. It's just quite disappointing that this drama didn't get enough recognition. Sigh.

And btw I can't believe Soo Ae is 37. She looks way way way younger.

Then the lead guy, may not be so dashingly handsome, but his role will make you fall in love.... All the casts did a very good job...

Charlotte Hunter Jan 26 2017 10:44 pm Very disappointed in "The Man Living in Our House". I realize it was taken from a webcomic but wonder if the plot was changed. My biggest problem was Na Ri's character developement. It never happened. She was a prickly condescending partner for Nan-Gil from the beginning. Nan-Gil began as a strong 'namja' and then was emasculated into a henpecked 'oppa'. So sad to watch that. Worse still was seeing Na Ri goad him into franchising his 'mandoo' (after letting her Dad & Uncle scam them into it). No character 'karma' here at all and nothing felt real, from the plot twists with new & never-ending bad guys, to Na Ri's lack of interest in the land that her mother and Nan-Gil loved. Our supposedly romantic couple never truly shared close tender moments, or even 'real' kisses. Loyal to each other, yes--but more like a brother/sister. Kim Young Kwan & Soo-Ae deserved better dialogue & directing in order to carry this off.

jan Dec 29 2016 11:25 am i wonder why some finds this drama boring when it got a lot of spice in it. the secrets.. great acting by the actors and actresses.. twists and turns and the story itself is different. also, i can't understand why some don't understand the fact that the mother can't simply adopt nan gil. the idea behind the marriage is for nan gil to take full responsibility over the family. he has to be the head of the family to save na ri from being harassed and hurt. if nan gil was adopted as a son who is younger than na ri, the the loan shark will go after na ri who becomes the head of the family cos she's older. how is this ever difficult to understand? pretty funny for people who don't get that simple logic. anyway, just saying and hope to help some people to get to understand.

It could be seen that the screenwriter has run out of ideas by the sheer amount of flashback at the end. The male lead and female lead were together, then forced to separate and then together and then separated and then together again. The story made viewers difficult to get absorbed. I would give full credit to Soo Ae for her acting given this type of script. Actually, I prefer so much the scenes where she and Jo Boa acted together. The acting was much better than with the male lead. The male lead has much room for improvement in his acting. Most of the time, he was just pouting his lips and acting cute. He requires more depth in his acting, especially for emotional scenes. At first I found it quite cute but after a while, it just seemed so cringe to me. I think he is more suitable to act cool like in his model photos rather than acting cute.

Chemistry between Hong Na-ri and Ko Nan Gil also looks very stiff. I hope oppa Ko Nan Gil ( Kim Young Kwang ) got a better role in the next drama :)

Plus the female lead's natural acting makes it more sweet. I don't understand why some didn't like this. IT's better than Cinderella and the four knights tho. I really love Im Se Jun's Still, Love- an OST of this drama. It's worth your time. Take it from someone who loves to watch anything. hahahaha

Had they kept the relationship as step father - step daughter bickering relationship, the drama would have kept or improves its viewership. They had to ruin it by make both of the fall in love. As a webtoon it could survive but as a drama its not enough especially SBS "Doctor Romantic, Teacher Kim" came on air. Remember how poor viewership KBS "Beautiful Mind" compared SBS " Doctor Crush".

I mean, she is a child she must be lovable whatever role she is playing, but she is annoying, I don't like her acting, yes I think she's overacting. Sorry.

And to others who made judgement already, there's the story behind, him being her step father, there is a reason, you must watch from the start. If they fall in love now nothing is wrong because the male lead is widowed already (her wife and Na Ri's mother).

But when it come to end and this drama released ep 1, I'm already fall in love with this drama... It so funny and romantic... I hope in ep 9 Na Ri and Nan Gil still dating because I think Na Ri heard what Nan Gil's step father said to him that the one who killed her father is him... Why KBS don't release preview for ep 9? I'm dyying to know what going to happen in ep 9!!!! I can't wait Monday since Moonlight era, and I think O'm going to feel empty and bored again in Monday but this drama come to be my savior for my Monday.... Thank you.... young kwang is really fit with the character... i like soo ae's acting and i'll continue to watch this drama

The reason i love watching this drama definitely because handsome yet cute Kim Young Kwang who really express the sweetness as the drama title. Ofcourse beside the interesting story line itself. I have read that some are creeped out about Na Ri's and Nan Gil's relationship; because they are step-father/step-daughter... but truthfully where is the ick factor? I mean they didn't have a father/daughter relationship, they are close to the same age so it's not like he's 20 years older than her, actually according to another site he's actually 3 years younger than Na Ri. So for those creeped out by it, just remind yourself of these things.

I like the Drama so far and will continue to watch, and hope others continue to watch as well. I'm really liking the actors who play the main cast, I have enjoyed watching them in their other works. #Hwaiting!

Kawai Nov 09 2016 1:20 pm At first i was weirded out while watching it because of the plot. Whenever something happens with her and the guy *cue in romantic music with slow motion (ie. She falls down and he catches her, staring into each others eyes, etc) that kind of things.. its making me cringe, because well, they are a Father and Daughter in this drama, i was like, "no! That's your Step dad you dummy! You shouldn't fall in love with him!" lol But I keep watching it because of the fact that I was soooooo curious why her Mom married that guy, and how will it end, given that they should have a Father and Daughter relationship.

It gets better the more you watch it and after watching the episode 5, i now understand why he married Na Ri's Mom and his past on how they met and how he was connected to Na Ri. I now see this drama in a new light and i am no longer cringing anymore lol.

I feel sad for him because he did all that and he's sacrificing his life (but in my point of view, more like wasting it) for Hong Na Ri just to make her happy without asking anything in return! It's just saaaaddd.

I keep guessing on how will it end but I still can't see the ending though.

I really hope its a happy ending!

PS. I hate that B*TCH who steals everyone's boyfriend! She's really irritating! lol

I like how they can work around the whole stepfather/daughter relationship to make a romantic relationship happen and make it believable without skivying(sp?) out the viewers. I'm actually liking this drama and looking forward to the how all this will play out.

If in the drama they switch the plot ..i means if the step father n daughter had such romantic feeling on the drama it could be so strange...in fact he is legally her stepfather and he said he loved her mom..something phisically happened those days between this young daddy n her mom.

Incest plot is not my cup of tea..

So far after watching episode 4 I'm already in love with it. The show has a nice feel and the characters are likable (well except for the man stealer)

The flow so far is great and I know that a lot of secrets will be coming out on the whole marriage, his past, etc. I'm looking forward to each new episode. I think it gives me the same feel as Cinderella and Four Knights, it doesn't take itself too seriously which is what I need after watching shows like SHR and K2.

This drama gives a fresh vibe to the audiences. It's not your average cliche drama where the leads live happily ever after but the drama plot promises a lot of things. Every episode makes you wonder and they don't leave you at peace because you're always left with unanswered questions by the end of the day. Webtoon turned dramas are definitely my forte right now. I cannot wait for the next episodes!

NanGil might have been requested by Soo Ae's mom to marry her to protect her property for Soo Ae herself. I feel as though NanGil fell for Soo Ae long ago..maybe she even knew him by his actual name (since he said NanGil wasn't a real name). Seo Bum Joo is so hot here omfg OMFG I was neutral with him when he was in Pinocchio. Same goes for Sung Cha Ok but now I LOVE HER in Woman With a Suitcase. OMG dying for EP3

Loved her acting recently in Mask and looking forward to see her role in this drama. So far liked her role(based on episodes 1 &2) which has hilarious side to her characterization and she is nailing it already without an iota of doubt. Why In Gyo-Jin is not mentioned in the cast list. He is exceptional actor when it comes to comedies. He also nailed the role of doctor in this drama and his comedy is really worth waiting for every week. I am looking forward to comedies from In Gyo-Jin, Soo-Ae, Kim Ji-Hoon and Kim Young Kwang because i pretty sure know these four will nail their roles without any doubt.

This fake marriage is just to save the Hong Dumplings from being sold to the wrong guys.. I think he is in love with Nari even way back coz he said he has seen her before... And also when Nari ask him if he loved her mother..His response..I was (am) in love...not directly saying that he loved her mother.. I want to watch this drama but there are many scenes that pissed me off so did not finish the 2nd ep..

Female lead being dump by her groom on just before her wedding because of other girl, go to the groom's house only find there is other guy living in the house which is her groom's roomate (male lead).since the girl is penniless because of wedding, male lead bring her home and live together. and here the drama, Nari, go back to her family's house for her mother's death aniv after seeing her bf with other girl. and find out there is a guy living in her house saying that he is her stepfather..and the age diff was same...i mean in jdorama male lead(kimutaku) is 24 y.o. while femalelead is 31 y.o. and here Nari is 30 y.o. and NanGil is young man maybe around 25-27 or 28.

I love her acting prowess. i've seen her taking mostly complex emotionally challenged roles like mask, queen of ambition,etc. Now, for a change she chosen rom-com project which is breath of fresh air for the fans of her to see her in new coming-of age role. The lead guy may be a con-artist who pretends to be her father knowing that his mom had died several years back and trying to stay at their home for a while until he finds a permanent place or something. He might be indebted to her mom or something, so he is just may be faking it as her step-father. It will be very strange if he really married to her mom. In that case, I prefer the other two second male leads Kim Ji Hoon and LSH to win her heart. Also, good to see Jo bo ah back to back on dramas. Fighting Team!! I wish this will be awesome romantic comedy just like don't dare to dream.

Soon after I watched his movie Hot Young Bloods. His acting in the two was very different and delivered the best for his characters. He is indeed a good actor.

Don't just judge him by how he looks (you can't compare him with Lee min ho or yoo seong-ho because he is charming in his own way) besides, they won't offer him the lead role if they don't trust his talent!
