Drama series depicts the story of Hwarang (literally "Flowering Knights") - an elite group of male youth in during the Kingdom of Silla.
Notes
- Takes over the KBS2 Mon & Tue 22:00 time slot previously occupied by "Sweet Stranger and Me" and followed by "Ms. Perfect" on February 27, 2017.
- First script reading took place at the beginning of March, 2016. The script reading took place over two different sessions.
- Drama series went under the working title of "Hwarang: The Beginning," but changed to "Hwarang."
- Filming began March 31, 2016 and finished September 1, 2016.
- Special poster for KBS2 drama series “Hwarang;”
- First still images of Go Ara in KBS2 drama series “Hwarang”.
