Suzanne Apr 03 2024 7:00 am I’ve watched Welcome to Waikiki 1 & 2 twice. It’s so dumb & hilarious. I’m probably too old to be so entertained by such a silly comedy, but I was. Every time I think of Lee Joon-ki (Yi-kyung) finally getting a serious part as the lead actor & then, at the last minute, told he had to work product placements into his scenes, I start laughing all over again. When I tried to tell my husband about it, I laughed so hard, I cried. He probably thought I was crazy, but it was seriously a great comic scene, thanks to Yi-kyung’s acting, the writing, directing & of course the absurdity of the ubiquitous product placements throughout Korean dramas. I’m pretty sure that’s in Waikiki 2, episode 15.

He can do various role in drama but here if you look carefully, he is not suitable to take main role in romance or melo genre because he is the type that seems weird if he do it. however hving him as secong couple lead role in drama gonna save that drama from sink down. he can do the lead role but as solo person. He is just so funny to do those things together.

araisyah Jul 19 2014 7:33 am FYI....i just rewatch Heartstrings (Park Shinhye and Jung Yonghwa's drama) and i found him.....he's not a main role or get some dialogue...but he joined with the musical team....in the choreo he always in the front...hahaha :D i dont know why u dont list it.......

I don't know why, but I feel like his first leading role will be GTO (Great Teacher Oh), which originally is a J-drama Great Teacher Onizuka. I know there's no Korean adaptation to GTO, but you'll never know though there'll be some add-on storyline on GTO's past.

I may sound like I'm being biased on my favourite actor, but ONLY LYK can pull off as a tough-former-gangster-now-a-carefree-high-school-teacher.

What do you think?

Anyway, I've heard a rumour the plot is about fighting as the title depicts itself. If that's so, LYK will be working out his body?! OMG! Not sure if I'll survive after seeing (if possible) his toned abs in that movie! *drools*

KSY94 Dec 18 2013 5:49 am There's a rumour about him taking a villain role in "You Came From The Stars" starring Kim Soo-hyun and Jeon Ji-hyun. His role is said to be more evil than the one he portrayed in "School 2013". There isn't a news about whether his role is a human or not, but I'm hoping his character would be another alien who knows Do Min-joon (KSH) as they are "frenemies" for the last hundred years. Hopefully I would love to see that role LYK gets this sort of thing. And who knows? His character can be vital in exposing DMJ's identity to Chun Song-yi (JJH).

I really never heard of CROSS GENE, but now I've checked this boyband member's profile and his performances with the band, he turns out to be a great artist, especially he's the main vocalist of CG. Well, I'm very happy for Yongseok sharing the same birthday as LYK. I wonder if they'll be cast in a K-drama, especially a music drama like the fanfic I've read. Fighting to both of them in meeting up someday! XD

1 His birthday (January 8) is the same as underrated idol Yongseok from CROSS GENE.
2 He's got a main role already..in a fanfic. (see Monstar Season 2 on AFF)
3 He has done his military service. Hence, he can turn in his early 30s and be able to act while at that age. :)
