Saimdang i did needid Kleenex to, When a man loves and Black night he performed well. His co star didn´t do so well. Same actress, East of eden what a great storyline ans Sent of summer . I do believe the storylines of older drama are much better, and this man has great quality´s as actor.

I am just advising you to have a happy ending when it is a romantic drama, like Crash Landing On You. We the viewers would watch your drama for us to relax after work. Be choosy with your Leading lady too. Your Love team in East of Eden was the beast- Lee Yon hee. Be wary of the fact that almost everyone don't want the protagonist being killed at the end. Congratulations. I am watching My Princess, but your Love team there was overpowered by your acting. She was good in melodrama- Stairway to Heaven though. Hats off to you. Warm regards.

But it sickens me to read these comments here, those that wish their own fathers look like SSH or that their mothers are the same age as him but look much older. Think about what your parents have done for YOU and not SSH. He’s a man to admire and thirst after, yes perhaps, but for you to state that you wish he’s your parent... gosh... so pathetic and sad.

Last week I accidently watched Third way of love which he acted and realised after years of acting, I can see his acting ability improved so much and the best asset as well as his trademark would be his emotional with that so manly expression so awesome. I was up all night just to watch it. The more episode I watch I can not even stop. I was hoping and crying for the 2 to be reunited. I watched just for less than a week.I was hooked up. i was so mad for the king behavior,and for those who surround him. But i was with the 2 lead artist I can't get enough or not satisfied and I'm not sure how they are they have some heart trouble or stroke at the end I saw them walking together and I realize it was the end. They're good actor and actress for me. I am searching his movie and his quite handsome very gentle and humble for Saimdang. Good job

The only drawback was having to read the subtitles and they were sometimes faster than my eyes ( especially when my eyes were full of tears).

Song Seung-Heon is a paragon of talent...as handsome as he is ... he is a superstar of talent. Very credible in his moments of confusion-cute and funny....never losing his character's persona. Totally enjoyed watching his performance in Black. Very well matched with Go Ara...who was his equal in her credible superstar performance!!!! Kudos! SRO!!!! Kudos!

It will make you thrilled, suspense, angry, laugh and cry as well! I never knew Song Seung-Heon before. But after watching Black, I automatically become a fan here! He's superb in acting! I laughed when he played dumb as a detective, I shouted when he got into action scene and I felt his sadness when he cried in one scene. He's a multi-talented actor ! Oh! By the way, did I mentioned that Song Seung-Heon is soo handsome? I will definitely include him in my list of Korean fav actor! =) Looking forward to your next KDrama Oppa ! His looks and appearance was at its peak when filming autumn tale... He had the greatest chemistry with song hye kyo... Yoon joon suh's(autumn tale) undying love for choi eun suh is every women's wish... His expressions and emotions shown throughout the drama are superb... Song seung heon as yoon joon suh is simply my dream man... How I wish I could turn back time to when I first watched autumn tale to love him all over again...

He's had a really fantastic career as an actor and just keeps getting better and better as a leading man especially on movie productions. I loved him most productions "IIdan Dwieo" "Bingwoo" "Gosuto" & "Je3ui Sarang" just phenomenal work.

On drama front...who could not mention Gaeul donghwa? It was first Son drama I had ever watched and I think I watched about 3 times altogether over the years...It's a great drama to go back to when feeling nostalgic. My other favorites include "Yeoleum Hyangki" "Edenui dongjjuk" "Dakteo Jin" & finally "Saimdang". One of my favorite actors in Korea I look up too a lot, keep up good work Seung heon! Hwaiting!! ^^

While I loved Third Way of Love and wish the best for this couple, East of Eden was the first Korean drama I watched and I became hooked. SSH, to me, is the ultimate Asian film star, even better than our American ones. He has a thousand expressions and micro-expressions and acts with great power, charisma, feeling and humility. I have now watched East of Eden and dong chul is one of my favorite characters of all time. He and Grace both did a superb job, and I think the criticism about her acting was very unfair. She was a delight, and I love them as a couple. I will watch anything with SSH and can't wait for Saimdang to become available in the U. S.

And both in this photo (which does him no justice) and in Saimdang (esp w/out facial hair) I keep thinking he should star alongside Taecyeon as his hyung or mayyyyybe dad though that is a stretch given how young SSH looks, too young to have a son who looks 20-something though I HAVE seen 12-year age diffs portray parent-child, just when the kid looks like an elementary student and the adult looks over 30 (is a 12yr old playing an 8yr old and a 24yr old playing someone who is 28-32 isn't unheard of since at 12 Korean kids often look like I did in Grade 3)... Anyway, they look like they would be perfect brothers though admittedly SSH is a much more polished actor (Taecyeon did well in Let's Fight Ghost but was a bit lacking in the crime solver show also centered around ghosts)... Anyway just an observation. I love this guy in Saimdang and the glimpse of his present day character made steam come off my screen (or maybe onto my screen from me!)-I am surprised I didn't really think much about him besides "cute when his dimples show" in Dr. Jin, but it was not nearly as amazing a series, either, as Saimdang. I don't, honestly, like that many Korean films (The King and Clown, which was phenomenal, and Ji Sung's very adult romance PS Partner aka Whatcha Wearin are notable exceptions, and there are a half dozen or so that I genuinely like-Seondal [Man who sold a river] one such unique film with an endearing lead, jailbait Yoo Seung Ho, for example, regardless of the objective quality or global appeal)...but he has me tempted, esp.with a very respected award from 2014, to watch at least the couple that won that award... He is hard to NOT be attracted to. His physique, esp. his face, even makes a beard (something I dislike on 99% of guys) hot... Symmetry like that shouldn't ever go to waste. He is as well-formed for a man as, say, Audrey Hepburn was for a lovely lady (and she was/is my forever girl crush)... Keep up the good work-glad your talent matches your looks!

Hollywood seems to like you. Congratulations on it going to the Cannes award. At the end it showed a portion of a film with a blond, blue eyed actress. I said, absolutely no! Not a Korean Film. It turned out to be one of our Oscar nominee, also going to the Cannes.

The movie opens with the background sounds of surviving a fight with the vietcong. So, that's the back story. The entire script lacked subtext and detail. The actors had very little to work with in terms of script development. The entire movie was awful to watch.

azzurro Sep 20 2014 7:40 pm I haven't seen Obsessed yet but from all accounts Song Seung Hun did a great acting job. He should be praised for going out of his normal comfort zone. Having said that, I really liked When a Man Loves and all his other dramas. I hope I won't feel disappointed when I eventually get to see this controversial movie. Like other people I, too, was surprised at the sexy scenes in Korean movies compared to the rather straight laced Korean dramas.

However, I watch him because I think he is a good actor who is trying to expand his talents. True fans will want to see their favorite actor no matter what drama/movie he chooses
to further his career.

Of his films, I have seen So Close, A Better Tomorrow, and Ghost. Of his dramas, I have seen Happy Together, Autumn in My Heart, Summer Scent, East of Eden, My Princess, Dr. Jin, and When a Man Falls in Love. Of all these films and dramas, my favorite role of Song Seung-heon’s is Lee Dong-chul in East of Eden. There is something extra special about Song Seung-heon. He is extremely handsome. There is more to him than just good looks, though. There is a combination of strength and softness in him that is very appealing. He is a man of steel and velvet. There is a quiet magnificence about him. When he is acting in films and dramas, he brings his characters alive with tremendous believability and with an energy which reaches beyond the television screen, leaving a great impact on the viewer. He is a treasure. I hope to be able to see all the films and dramas he has been in. I hope he continues to act for many, many years.

I would also like to send the comment to you for my view on Korean's film industry - {Quote "Congratulations on your win of 'Secret Garden' and I did manage to obtain your DVD just to follow your work but again the English subtitles, no comment! We have a couple of movies based on soul switching and this is not new but you have handled the plot beautifully and dramatically. I must admit that I am not fancinated with all the actings and it is probably I do not understand korean or asian culture. It feels like everything is revolving being young hence regardless how great an actor or actresses be their acting career are very shot-lived. Correct me if I am wrong. It looks like it's aiming at 'young market' or 'young at heart'. It's totally nothing wrong with that if it makes great ratings (it's very Japanese!!!) but it is just not my cup of tea. emmageorge Sep 12 2011 9:42 pm The blu-ray DVD that I purchased from Hong Kong of My Princess is real disappointing. The English subtitles gone haywire half way then its 'Chinglish' one has to speak Korean or Chinese or read Chinese to fully appreciate the plot. Lucky for me I have Korean associates for this one but no one has time to keep translating. The English subtitles are appalling and it is no different from the other Korean DVD that I purchased in Asia. May be the Korean series are not intended for western markets and I just wonder would it be better if I purchase through some English speaking asian countries like Singapore or Phillipines. I started on East of Eden, true to the Korean style it's very sad and depressing, the English subtitles probably will fail me at some stage and continue... Despite all that your acting is unmistakably perfect, you are a true great actor and I wish Korea will start producing their own DVD with up to standard English subtitles for the western markets or other Asian speaking countries. I simply have the feeling that some countries simply acquire the right from the Korean Companies and produce their own DVD and resulted such poor standard. Regardless, all the best!

I have also logged on your personal website and noticed that you have your suite auctioned for a cool Taiwanese $41 millions for Red Cross. That alone shows how popular and well liked you are. What an achievement, none of our movie stars have such an impressive record. We have some very top Hollywood movie stars, like Olivia Newton John and Hugh Jackman in our charity functions as I am an active committee member and we have never had such a record. Congratulations!!! I also bought your East of Eden but it's a pity that it's not in blu-ray. It's a very big series and it probably will take me a long time to watch it. Lut now I have to admit there are only two actors I like because their Asian faces- Jet Lee And You= All my other favorites I like is course they have a slight european look in face features. A lot of actors now a day's are expressionless and bland but he is far from that! Ever since i saw him in autumn tale he has been my favorite Korean actor of all time. Since then he has yet to dissapoint in any of his movies and dramas. La la Love him! <3
