I love how she is capable of truly expressing the emotions of the character and does an amazing job at bringing the characters to life. Despite what some may have said, her voice is perfectly fine and normal for a Japanese female and doesn’t seem out of the ordinary, in fact, it’s super cute! The production seems tailor made for her. Like Makoto (lead role), Haruka is sweet, shy, and cute. Haruka seems to Become the character she plays, she is just that good. In Good Morning Call and Koe Girl you come to care deeply for her characters. In Koe, she is the best of the actresses when it comes to dancing and singing. Haruka, please live a happy life. It is funny in that this show appeared to resonate with an "older" audience as I am middle-aged and found it very entertaining. My wife had a more difficult time when she first saw it and thought it was a bit campy, youthful and was laughing that I found it so enthralling. You are such a fine, intelligent actress that you should succeed in whatever role you can get. I even like watching you in the commercials for Fit's, Zondervan (sp?), and Nonoji. I'd love to see you in series like the Taiwan 'Love Now', 'Love Around', and 'Inborn Pair'. There are a lot of pretty Japanese actresses but none that have your 'screen presence'. I found her effervescent personality totally riveting. I was rather surprised that I was emotionally moved in quite a few scenes. At the end of the day, Haruka's smile always made me feel good. Her personality shined through in so many scenes. She reminds me of Anne Hathaway. I hope she has the same success. Really enjoy her comedic style, as well as her ability to make us believe her serious moments. I also agree that her character is not dumb, but perhaps perceived as such by Uehara at times until he begins to see there is more to her than he first realizes. Sure, she can be a bit naive about guys, and silly at times, which is really fun to watch. But then she is also very serious, will stand her ground, is honest and even apologetic for her thoughtlessness. Fun series to watch. She comes off as phony only where it is not intending to be serious (like just before the zipper notification). Every where the emotions come across as so true to expectations that you forget she is acting. You feel her joy when she is happy and her sorrow when she is not. Something in the stories strike me, as I've had a similar experience in my life. Love really can't be solved like a math problem. Anyway, Haruka Fukuhara is very entertaining to watch. I really cracked up when Uehara saves her from the viciousness of those 3 girls by telling them Nao was his girlfriend, and then taking her hand to lead her out of the school to only let go when no one was watching, and telling Nao it was all pretend. Nao stands there with her hand out grasping air and wondering what the heck just happened. Her reaction was just so funny. But then she, after realizing the reality of the situation, thanks him for saving her. Vic Zambrano Oct 30 2016 3:48 am Ed S - Haruka IS Great. I tried Playful Kiss and Mischievous Kiss and found them sadly second rate. I may not care for all the other characters in GMC but the acting is top notch. GMC is the best of the bunch because you CARE for the main characters. This is due to their ability to appear they ARE the character. You watch Nao's eyes as she goes from feisty to being honestly thankful for Uehara's saving her in the gym and you see the development of her character taking place. You can also understand why an intelligent Uehara appreciates her. For a more serious drama try 'Miss Rose' on NetFlix. Also check out Ya Yan Lai's (Megan Lai is Miss Rose) videos on YouTube. Ed Stoddard Oct 27 2016 5:03 pm I'm English-Irish American and have just found several Asian romantic comedies streaming on Netflix: "Playful Kiss" (South Korea); "Mischievous Kiss: Season 1 & 2" (Japan); "Murphy's Law of Love" (Taiwanese) ; and "Good Morning Call" (Japan). So far, "Good Morning Call" is my personal favorite. Naruka Fukuhara (Nao) is an amazing actress to watch. She can be so goofy, animated and gets lost in daydreams so convincingly. I just totally believe her character. Amazing young lady. Too, her character's ability to see the positive over the negative is powerful. And I've said nothing about the story - the transformation Uehara undergoes at the hand of our little, innocent Nao. Issei said it best in one episode, "You know, Nao has a kind of mysterious power." Verrry cute. Interesting thought: She just turned 18 but the rest of the cast are in their 20's. Why not end the series with a marriage at 3 years later and they move back into 305?
