ucchan Jan 22 2020 7:56 pm I first saw Mayu as the young version of the heroine in 35 sai no koukousei and even though she played a small role (almost a cameo since it's not even listed in her drama list?) she was seriously so enticing and convincing?? She left such a big impression on me with a truly powerful performance!! I've only seen a bit of her other works but I can't wait to really dig into her portfolio and see more of her.

Yang Yang Jul 24 2019 8:35 pm I discovered Mayu after watching Shoplifters and found her performance extremely compelling. I decided to follow some of her past projects and after watching a series of her films and TV dramas I'm gonna just say that she's like one of the best actress out there? All the roles she has played feel somehow just feel different. Even when she was seemingly typecast as several introverted, quirky characters, well namely in "Restaurant with many problems", "Chihayafuru" and "Tremble all you want", we still can so easily tell them apart. She can be cute and delicate as in "My Loser Husband", or silly and cheerful in "Aquarium Girl", or serious and compassionate in "Dr Storks". Her spectrum of performance is so wide, it's so impressive. Really love this girl so much.

JintianXiayue Oct 25 2017 3:03 pm By far one of the most natural Japanese actresses I've seen so far besides Ueno Juri. She has her own natural style of acting and doesn't rely on overly cute or exaggerated/planned expressions like a lot of female leads. Also most Japanese actresses/actors have a 'restrained/locked' style of acting which I personally don't like but I don't see that Mayu's acting style.

Perhaps one of the best talent of her age group and this girl is VERY versatile for someone of her age. Can't hardly believe cute little shy Satomi from Aku no Kyoten, bitchy girl from Kirishima, and hot headed GMT leader from Amachan are portrayed by only this single girl effortlessly
