Ichiko (Ai Hashimoto) lived in a big city, but goes back to her small hometown Komori, located on a mountain in the Tohoku region. She is self-sufficient. Ichiko gains energy living among nature and eating foods she makes from seasonal ingredients.

I wish I could live in this beautiful surrounding just like Ichiko.

Am I wrong to hate Ichiko's selfish (in my personal opinion) mother? LOL

Mako May 14 2019 2:48 pm I put the movie on repeat, from my usbstick. Like a radio. So I don't need to watch all of the time. It's my dream, living that way. Beautiful nature. Peaceful movie. I don't need subtitles.

I now love it with all my heart and as an aspiring farmer in the future this definitely speaks to my soul.

Ichiko Aug 18 2018 4:08 pm Everytime I planned to short screening the movie I end up watching it entirely. Even continue it to the part 2. I'm infatuated on how the calming and peaceful feeling blooming from it plus with the soundtrack that gives the serene vibes. It make me want to live there.

Steven Thauberger Jul 13 2017 5:58 pm Completely unlike any film that I have ever seen, a really delightful surprise to watch. I had no idea what to expect .... I thought it was some kind of drama, and it is to a certain degree. I just did not expect it to focus so much on food preparation. I use to work in the food industry, so watching this film was truly enjoyable. Very relaxing, soothing, pleasant. I have seen also the second movie Little Forest : Winter Spring, and again, just could not believe how thoroughly I enjoyed both movies. It has made me curious to know the process that went into making both of these films.

Lorraine Mar 04 2017 2:47 pm Same here. The movie was really simple not anything extravagant but I really enjoyed it. Did not get bored at all. It made me want to live in the countryside. The movie was really heartwarming, relaxing and pure. I really loved this.

Jay Quintana May 26 2016 12:25 am This comes across more as a documentary about a young woman living on and managing a farm by herself rather than a movie with a plot. And yet, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Beautiful scenery, oshisoo-food, and low-key but effective performances.
