i am a what Dec 27 2022 1:42 pm I accidently watched this Rurouni Kenshin first in Netflix bcs it have title "The Beginning" lmao. I don't know how to said it but i've already watched Rurouni Kenshin: 1, 2, 3, The End and my heart still left on Tomoe. This film is really great. At first i watched this bcs Nijiro Murakami but stayed for the plot.

Ana Martins Apr 28 2022 12:42 pm so i finally watched and found out that this movie it is about kenshin's past as battousai and his past with tomoe. No other main cast member appears from the other movies with the exception of Saito and of course Enishi. As much as I liked it (bc I don't think we ever had his complete backstory in the manga told in a row. it been a lot time since i read the manga so i could be wrong) I confess that I am a bit disappointed because they didn't show kenshin and kaoru together with their son. in this movie we had a small intimate scene with a kiss between kenshin and tomoe but nothing with kenshin and kaoru on the penultimate movie I think these last 2 movies could have been better divided. as much as this movie has many new scenes, it also has some scenes that we've already seen in the form of flashbacks I think these last 2 movies could have been better divided. as much as this movie has many new scenes, it also has some scenes that we've already seen in the form of flashbacks. if it was me I would have left his past story in the penultimate movie starting at the part where kenshin tells kaoru, yahiko, sano and megumi his story and the whole fight with Inishi for the last movie and for sure there would still have been left time for the epilogue of kenshin married to kaoru and their son, Kenji since the repeated flashbacks would have been eliminated. also sad that we didnt had the fake kaoru death. That would had been the perfect end for the penultimate movie another solution would have been either to cut something from the penultimate movie or put another 10m extra in the penultimate movie for the epilogue.

doram Aug 08 2021 2:34 am This movie is just a flashback or prologue of Kenshin's story..which is already shown in The Final part...so in my opinion this one is not necessary. Too many quiet scenes too that makes it more boring.

Even though Final came first than beginning it kind of spoils some story of beginning so it would be better in this order. Story wise The Beginning should be watched first but it would be no fun if you watch Beginning first. hehe

I'd appreciate the tomoe actress but yeah i expect it to be someone prettier because in the anime Tomoe is strikingly prettier than Tomoe and yet here we have Kaoru who is actually the prettiest among the cast

Sam Jul 14 2021 4:24 pm @thz No, both are different movies. The Beginning is about Kenshin's past, how he became the battosai, falling in love with Tomoe, how she died. The Final is about his wife's brother (Enishi) avenging her death.

thz Jun 27 2021 8:54 pm So The Final and The Beginning are the same movie? The Final is hell of a movie with awesome fight scenes. Kenshin's life was shocking and he looks a bit older. Great movie.

I watched “The final” and it is a great movie, with intense fighting scenes, and -a deep dramatic struggle between Kenichi and Kenshin. Takeru Sato and Mackenyu Arata simply are remarkable. Waiting to watch “The Beginning “, but, for the few scenes of Tomoe we can see in “The Final”, I have a strong felling that the character is inexpressive most of the time. The actress keeps the same face , being angry, sad or happy. Almost like the original in the animation, a cool beautiful lady. Different, dor example, from Enichi, whose hatred is visceral on screen, or Kaoru, always showing the emotions of her character.
