Woo Je-Moon (Park Joong-Hoon) is a prosecutor at the Seowon District Public Prosecutors' Office. He uses drastic measures to dispense his brand of justice. The chief prosecutor orders him to arrest Jo Young-Kook (Kim Hong-Fa). Jo Young-Kook is the CEO of Hyunseung Company and a powerful figure in the city. Woo Je-Moon puts together a team to take down Jo Young-Kook. The team consists of Heo Il-Hoo (Joo Jin-Mo), Jang Sung-Cheol (Yang Ik-June), No Jin-Pyeong (Kim Moo-Yul) and Han Gang-Joo (Ji Soo). These men all have their own different reasons in taking part in the team.

"Bad Guys: Vile City" takes over OCN's Sat. & Sun. 22:20 time slot previously occupied by "Black and followed by "Children of A Lesser God" on March 3, 2018.
Park Sung-Woong was offered supporting role, but declined.
Um Tae-Goo was originally cast for the drama series, but dropped out prior to filming due to health issues. He was replace by actor Ji Soo.
Kang Ha-Neul was originally cast to play Prosecutor No Jin-Pyeong, but dropped out of the series prior to filming. There was a scheduling conflicted with his enlistment in the military on September 11, 2017. In his place, Kim Moo-Yul is cast for the role of No Jin-Pyeong.

I dislike these so called S2. I think it's not S2 because it's really different from the real Bad Guys plot. So, I drop these at ep 3 because I really dislike politics crime drama. I prefer they solve day to day crime and the politic side should be on the side plot instead.

I watch the movie and it was so much fun even with different casting but we still get Oh gutak and Park woongchul.

If you don't like politics drama and loves Bad Guys S1, please watch Bad Guys Reign of Chaos, their movie straight after S1. It was so good!

Pare Noble Sep 29 2021 11:10 pm I must say that the Korean dramas (thriller, crime-related) are really good. Because I am watching it in English Subtitles, I had to go online to get my head around the names of the characters which was a big help in following the storyline.

It was a really good drama and I recommend it to people. I haven't seen the first season of Bad Guys but once I got around the storyline it was easy to pick up. Although it was a non-fiction drama the realities of gangs, corruption in politics and law does happen. The storyline and character development were good. But was very sad to see some great characters die. Can you just imagine you start your new job expecting another day at the office? And you end up in whole gang warfare in some building not knowing what's going on.

Prosecutor Moo was relentless all the way seeking justice for everyone particularly for the characters who were killed in their hunt for justice. At the same time depicting the line between good and bad and on whose terms is justice afforded?

Can't wait for the 3 Season to come out.

Vile City was the best, no pretty faces (except for Yang Pil-Soon/Ok Ja-Yeon, but she was shown naturally, not glammed up,) just a great plot, action and grittiness with bits comedy and a great sound track. Loved the hallway scene where Choi Gwi-Hwa / Ha Sang-Mo was going to attack Joo Jin-Mo / Heo Il-Hoo and said to one of the gang members what the heck are you doing with a saw, get back to the end of the line.

Please start Season 3 where you left off directly in the very last shot (after credits) of Season 2!

shar Sep 10 2020 5:07 am this is my first time commenting and ive watched so many dramas, this is the worst. so many violence going on and many people kept dying. i had to skip a few episodes because it was draggy, they could’ve just made it into a movie. the main characters seem weak compared to the ones in season 1. this is just all over the place

Steph Stringer Sep 04 2020 8:20 am Good series but way too much violence. I'm not particularly squeamish but the fight scenes and murders were really grim at times. I envy how the protagonists seem to get over numerous beatings so quickly. Most fit people would be laid low for days after such pummelling! Must have taken some co-ordinating to organise so many people to take part in the massive fights. Artistic licence for such scenes apart there was some really good acting and twists in the plot so it is still worth watching.

Casual Jul 12 2020 1:31 am This is a pretty good series. Much darker than the first season. But definitely not better than the first season. Although i like the twist in Vile City more. But i have a little bit of complain regarding this season. The first thing is the camera work, well a lot of people already talk about it so that's fine. The next thing is i don't like it how the "Bad Guys" didn't work together for like most of the time, they started to work together towards the end of the series. Also they seems to have too many backups which i don't really like cause as you can see in the first season they don't need no backups to fight the bad people. You can see like 4 vs 100 in the first season but in this season they rely on other people that is not the "Bad Guy" squad. So Vile City already lost a point for that. But overall this is a good and enjoyable series. I would definitely recommend it.

MF Jul 07 2020 3:02 am Underrated series. People saying S1 is much better like this season is really bad. But it's not, it's far from bad. But i gotta say that i love the S1 cast better than S2. The character much more unique to me. The only thing i don't like about S2 is the shaky cam + dark fight scene. I can't see what happen in those scenes. If you want to make a fight scene, you gotta show what the character is trying to do. I don't mind shaky cam, but then you put a dark atmosphere as well? That is just really really bad. I know they trying to make the show looks dark and everything. But still... Overall the plot, characters, ost of the S2 is amazing!

Asdfghjkl Apr 02 2020 1:14 am Honestly, this one should have not been titled Bad Guys 2. It does not have the same format as season 1. Season 1 has multiple cases they solve, and this has one case dealing with corruption and politics. It tries to be badder than season 1, but it's not. The cameraman tries to make the scenes look more intense by using this shakiness way of filming that gives me a headache and have to constantly pause. Fighting scenes, you can never tell what is going on and who's beating who. I literally cursed out loud so many times throughout the drama because of the camera shakiness.

Just finished the show, and as someone who really loved Bad Guys this continuation really gives me hope for a really good franchise. I do have a complaint regarding the shaking camera whenever the fight or chase scenes happen, it doesn't make the scene that much more intense just irritating. Other than that is much more dark and politically tied than the first one. The first Bad Guys was focused more on finding a serial killer while this one deals with corruption not only in political office, but also the police especially regarding the poor population.

The casting for this was also really well done, the deaths were also more heartbreaking especially since the show gives us time to like them before killing them off so early they deserve to be praised on that. Gore wise it stayed within the reality of how gangs would get rid of people, but like most drama I am not a fan of the whole grabbing a knife with my bare hand person. It's really unnecessary. I hear there is a movie in works for 2019 and a good bit of the original cast is returning. It's not known if the Vile City cast will be involved. but I do reccomend watching this just in case. You won't regret.

Of course u might miss ppl from part 1 but these guys deserve all the love for what they have presented. Laugh, cry, grief, smile and at the end it becomes one of those series you would recommend others. complaining about no females in show, I didn't even notice, couldn't even think beyond what is being show . Now u decide.

I love this kind of drama, but Bad guys 2 is a no no for me. I hope they bring back the season 1 characters that is much better and they nailed it. Season 3 pls with the original cast.

Nunez Sep 03 2018 4:02 am I fell in love with Korean film when I saw the movie "Friend," a 2001 Gangster Drama that became my third favorite mobster movie of all time (right after Godfather 1 and 2). Korean films and series have very high production values - the acting, dialogue, plot, photography, sound...everything is done at such a high level and with a lot less cheese than standard Hollywood. The Crime Dramas are so gritty that someone like me - who is into both Crime Dramas and Horror films - is instantly hooked. Having said all of that, "Bad Guys: Vile City" is a phenomenal series. It's got plenty of action, drama, plot twists, amazing acting, great production values...it's a 10 out of 10, five star series. I'm hooked.

Alex Aug 06 2018 12:44 pm I just started watching this on Netflix (English subtitles) and love this show. This reminds me of 24, but not only more intense, but even more complex. Everything is excellent, from the script/dialogue to acting and production. My only "complaint" is not of the show, but that there is no SAP in English (have to constantly hit pause so I can read the dialogue as there are lots of scenes where the conversation is quick and you have to pause it to read before it disappears.)

Please keep up the great work, so looking forward to many more seasons!

Also, have to say, if you like this show, you'll probably also like Steel Rain and Stranger (Secret Forest)

Tb Jul 04 2018 12:50 am Bad guys 2 has a darker, grimmer and more politically complicated plot than bad guys 1.....the characters too are more complex and at times more evil.....I understand that in order to set the dark and sinister mood of the drama, the director chose to keep it dim in almost every frame of the series , especially,the mob fight scenes were particularly confusing.....frequently shaking camera too contributed to the utter chaos and orderlessness....but, all this made it very difficult to comprehend what was actually going on....and, it was inconceivable to see that after getting severely battered up in almost all the episodes, the main characters, somehow, managed to survive the ordeal.....the brutality and gore of the fight scenes were too much to take in....performances were terrific though....definitely a top class drama for some but unfortunately,not one for me.

WOW IM SO MAD I’m on episode 8 and Jin pyeong just died?! Like that?! Everything happened so fast he was my favorite character?? I’m honestly fuming. I’m going to keep watching bc it’s still a really good drama but I’m mad that he died and I’m mad at the way they made him die. It felt like everything moved too fast and he didn’t get a good death....it wasn’t memorable or sad ㅠㅠㅠ

The subtitles are slightly annoying sometimes, especially when the person doing them hasn’t translated the words correctly, but this series is a solid 5 ? rating for me, because it’s absolutely fantastic, and action packed from the beginning of the first episode, to the end of the last, and every few minutes in between. Fights, chases on foot and in vehicles, and the car crashes are awesome. Good guys and bad guys getting battered, beaten and killed, literally nobody is off limits, and i for one, am searching Netflix for more of the same, and trust me, there’s plenty more where this came from. Korea, you are awesome, and your tv and movies are better than Hollywood is producing, so please, keep it up.

But besides the Title name and slightly same concept this isn't anything like the first season/original.So if that is what you wanted, try another show,sadly. Still at episode 5 there is very little team work from the main characters. I am getting quite bored really. It is a lot darker (And that is saying a lot considering S1's serial killer plots) and at times the "Good" guys actions to stop the "Corrupt" guys actions weren't much better then the people they were fighting to stop. At times the constant fighting scenes distracted from the storyline itself and did feel abit like time killers. I did like the actors cast in their roles and at times their chemistry flowed,but I never felt the comradship of Bad Guys(S1). And just so you know, Bad Guys (s1) isn't needed to watch this show. But it is the better pick. If they do reboot this again,it could be interesting to cast female leads too. I mean as the criminals/ex-criminals who work with the good guys.

And to be honest, all the eye candy doesn't hurt. I don't know Korean actors but holy shit ... Ji Soo, Joo Jin-Mo, Jung Sunk-Won are too hot and their characters are sexy af. Kim Moo-Yul is a cutie too and I recognized him from 'Forgotten'.

I'm still on the first episodes but I hope to see more of the only girl in the task force too Yang Pil-Soon.. she's such a badass!

Have seen the original Bad Guys drama which I really enjoyed, and this one didn't disappoint although I found the violence rather extreme. Shame the same characters from first Bad Guys weren't employed in Vile City, nonetheless, fine acting in this one also with the different characters. Hoping that the final scene in Vile City is leading upto a third series. My only criticism is that the one female detective in Vile City was killed off. Please let's have more. Apart from that a good production with really good acting and very comparable with anything produced from the West. A totally hooked fan

In Indonesia we the same case,our piliticion did corruption because of him many people in Indonesia doesnt have I'd card. And KPK already captured him twice but he still can escape and he is the leader of DPR. It's not easy to captured someone who have money like jo young gook. And why they focused just on that case bc they are prosecutor not police.

rin Jan 04 2018 4:52 am this one is a little too messy. and too much failures in capturing the rich guy. it's really frustrating when it shows the rich guy wins again. and the fighting scenes arent as awesome as the first. only Mr Heo is the best of all. i started watching this for Jisoo but i've stopped watching after ep 4. i hope the drama doesnt only focus on the rich guy throughout. might as well just make it a movie. i prefer different cases like the first.

Sb Dec 29 2017 9:29 pm I don’t know what you guys are talking about but Kim Moo Hyul’s acting in My beautiful Bride was stellar! I’m Canadian and to me he’s one of the best actors I’ve seen. He deserves way more support. So far I am enjoying this season as much as the first one. I don’t understand why people are grumpy about it. I’ve watched tons of Kdrama and I know this is definitely worth watching.

Momo Dec 19 2017 1:01 am To be honest, without offending anyone, a bit disappointing if the director and producer of season 2 were same with season 1. It might has a great plot or story but the output wasn't as thrilling as season 1. Well, you can't separate or will always be compared to season 1 since it was the season 2. Also, this drama has good actors in it, it will be waste if the output/final product isn't as good as people's expectation. This drama already has hype from previous season and every fans of season 1 (including me) expect much from this season. In my opinion, it's like good ingredients with bad processing, so the product isn't well.

PANDORA Dec 18 2017 2:27 pm After watching the first episode I know I'm going to LOVE this. First of all, keep in mind that this is a SPIN-OFF, NOT a sequel. Meaning you should probably watch the original, as some stuff is brought up, and let's face it, the original is f*cking badass! Without spoiling, I can tell you that the first episode jumps right into the action. There's not much explaining about the whole "we're going to use criminals to fight criminals" thing because as I mentioned, it is a spin-off and most people know what is going to happen based from the original. Second, they added something new: politics. If you watched the first episode, you can tell from the start that this will be good criminals/police VS corrupt government. Out main antagonist is introduced within the first 10 minutes and I think one of the focuses of the show will be to take down this big corrupt organization. Overall, I think I'm going to really enjoy this. Finally, 1) if you have not watched the original Bad Guys, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! GO GO GO! and 2) for those of us that watched the original, please do not get sad about the new cast, they're awesome I promise!

This is the reason why some actors do not get the credit they deserve because people assume that first season actors were the shit and the actors in the sequel can't do a good job. Obv chemistry, stories, reactions, plot will be different, but I am so happy for season 2 (no matter the actors).

Yes, I am sad that season 1 actors are not in the sequel, but I am happy for the new actors!!! FIGHTING!!

Obv the first season was da bomb (I watched it 4 times!!!!!!!!!), but as audience we need to appreciate they have season 2 and show the same love.

The most difficult part is how thiese new casts give us same IMPRESSION compared with the season 1. I'm not doubting the action scenes, the most important things are CHEMISTRY between characters and how they make us FORGET that they're just ACTING.

‘jess’ the problem is not romantic comedies but that every possible genre drama no matter how dark turns into romance (now even well-interested into the storyline)!

Now hearing that Ha Neul is out im like screaming but I understand that he's enlisting and I just hope everything goes well with that. With Ha Nuel having to be replaced though I got to thinking of how Yoo Jin Goo would be a really good replacement in my opinion!!!! Just something to ponder on ???

tim Jul 02 2017 9:44 pm wow, new cast, didn't expected this at all. since this is bad guys 2, i assumed that they will keep the old cast, instead they do a whole new cast. usually when producer decided to do another season of a series they will keep the old cast. the cast from season 1 was amazing, hope the new season will be good too, I'm a bit disappointed though.

He hasn't acted in television for almost 30 years and is a recipient of major acting awards in movies. For OCN to be able to convince him to do a drama in a cable network is a BIG DEAL. I'm sure he is going to do well.

The rest of the cast are pretty good in acting, too.
