But they are only friends and Kim So Yeon got married to Lee SangWoo for real. I am still into Kwak SiYang. He was sooo hot in Alice. hehe and I hated him in Lovers of the Red Sky. haha and I didnt expect his role here in Cafe Minamdang. hahaha so funny....but still love him.?

Allison Sep 01 2021 11:06 pm I’m baffled why he’s not in lead roles - he has so much more charisma, is just as good an actor, and so much better looking than any male character in the main role he’s been in. I can’t be bothered watching a lot of Korean series on Netflix because the lead male is so wimpy and forgettable and has all the charm of a wet dishcloth.

I am not sure why he hasn’t been rewarded. He can do serious and cute (Oh my ghost) and serious and brooding (Alice). I only kept with Alice (given the weird storyline where a son ended up being romantically interested in someone who resembled his mother, wth?! icky! ) because of Kwak Si-Yang and would fast- forward to his scenes.

We need more stories like this that show what it's like coming terms with sexuality. Many high school students struggle because they don't identify as heterosexual. This movie is an honest and sometimes brutal insight into what young men who battle with gender identity have to endure. It's a tough world and there are many nasty attitudes around.

Sakura Jul 15 2019 12:53 am It may be because after June 2017 votes started pouring in at Chicago Typewriter. I think there is about just over 2500 votes over 2 years...which is considerably high for lesser known TVN shows as compared to long stretched out shows on non-cable networks. Also Kwak plays the villain and he did it so well that probably some of the CT voters may have seen him for the first time on the show. I saw him for the first time too on CT...he was an excellent villain but I would vote way over 80% to be fair... At least he doesn't overact like some heroes or villains.

lkb May 03 2019 8:12 am How can such a sweet guy who hasn't even played a lead role (but has been excellent as second lead-verrry easy to get SLS with him!) have 4600+ people average such a low score (70) usually reserved for writers who totally mess up their stories and anger people halfway through a long show (so early votes are high then bam lots of 20-40 point votes)? I don't understand. Has he had some scandal I have never heard of? Seems improbable given his upcoming role as second lead to Rain+Ha Ji Won in Welcome to Life... Weird haters must be bored, changing IP addresses to vote him down enough to cancel the positive comments+scores!! Otherwise, almost no one even gets 4600 votes, 2500 pretty high for someone barely over 30!

Re Aug 05 2017 2:49 pm Kwak Siyang's acting as Namil in Fight For My Way really caught my eye even though he was only a side character. I became enamoured by his acting and start researching him. How surprised I am when I found out that he's the main character in Night Flight, the first gay movie I've ever watched years ago! I didn't know it was him but I still remember how awesome his character was, and I finally fell in love with his talent and handsome face. I also have watched many variety shows starring him and I can tell you that he has great personality and many charming points! Currently bingewatching Chicago Typewriter and as always, his acting is really good here <3 oppa f.ighting~

The movie over all was amazing and the creators have my full respect, although Si Yang was the one who made it for me. All the emotion and sincerity he put into his roles.
