Becky Thomas Jan 06 2025 10:53 pm Like flowers in sand is one of the best most underrated K dramas ever produced. It is extremely well written and the dialogue is brilliant. It incorporates many of the townspeople and their personalities as well as Kim Baek Du and his family. Jang dong. Yoon delivers his monologues and soliloquies with humor and love. They are brilliant. The wrestling scenes are extremely vivid and look amazingly accurate. I would like to let Jang Dong Joon know what an incredible performance he had. He played his part tp perfection. I have watched that series 5 times and planned watching it many more times as well.Thank you for your hard work!

Just love watching all other kdrama's until came across by accident series called the Search. But his top-notch portrayal kept me so interested in his character...I fell in love with his acting. I now plan to hunt down his other movies which could be a challenge here in California. I caught a "behind the scenes" clip of him, and I am convinced he is à funny, loveable, and caring person. Thank you Kang Dong-Yoon!

Noona Sep 27 2022 11:16 am Glad that I decided to watch tale of nokdu. He really is a versatile actor. He is so handsone and pretty and he looks like Kim Soo Hyun. I'm now planning to watch search and his other works. Oh and I just found out that he was one of the leads of Joseon Exorcist. Too bad that it was cancelled after airing 2episodes. I remember that I was so xcited to watch it then suddenly the drama got into controversy that it was totally cancelled. I hope to see him soon in his future projects.

Great actor, great in making conversation and getting along with other people, treats his fans well, not acting like a celebrity at all. HIs face is so clear and cute and pure like a reflection of a clear conscience. I hope he has more projects soon. Does not have to be the most popular...but well received and well loved is more important.

I heard he is very smart too. A graduate of Economics and Finance in Hanyang university. Prevented a crime at a convenience store by reporting to the police when he saw the knife held by the criminal. He was spotted in a long line outside a restaurant for two straight days because he wanted his mother to try a certain food when she visited him. Ugh..this guy is so unreal! But he doesn't feel fake either. Just a genuinely nice and always tries to do his best at everything! I'm a fan!

I first watched him in Mr. Sunshine, he had a very minor role there but he caught my attention in the little scenes he had! I watched him in Tale of Nokdu which was a big success, he did an incredible job and had great chemistry with Sohyun. Now, he has another lead role in Search, the casting directors have a good eye for him. Really excited to continue supporting him in his future works~ Fighting!!

I fell in love with JDY so started watching hus other shows like Just Dance, A poem A Day and School 2017 but I still end up watching clips from TTON because Nokdu and Dong Ju's love story is still the best for me. I really really loved their story JDY and KSY are oozing with chemistry so I hope and pray that they can work together again in a modern drama or even historical again. I really can't move on. Their kissing scenes are the sweetest OMG!

im a fan of Jang Dong-Yoon. i first saw him on tale of nokdu because im a fan of KSH. after watching TTON, i cant get enough of him! He's so cute and pretty and handsome at same time!!! I really love it when his teeth shows when smiling. Also enjoyed him TV special If We Were A Season. Quite sympathetic characterizations. Maybe someday I'll get around to Nokdu and see what all the fuss is about it. ;)

I didnt even realise he was in the tale of nokdu untill he switched roles from the women to the man; looool. Hes acting was that good he fooled me for a few episodes. already thought his acting was elite in school 2017 but oh my word; he took it to another level in the tale of nokdu (which i just finished). BIG UP this amazing actor.

However, I didn't expect him to be that good. I thought he was just a rookie actor and I'm amazed. He definitely deserve the award.

I notice this since If we were a season I thought he's super young like 96-97 line and can pass as kim soohyun-lee jehoon cute lil bro but turns out he's 92line! Looks sooo baby face. Also his acting debut is like a drama story. How he was a wholesome guy who saved a shop from thief, get award from police, get interviewed by tv station, entertainment agency noticed him and asked him for an actor contract, then he debuts for tv drama with such briliiant actings and great character (hanjihoon) in solomon's perjury. and from then he always had good dramas, good acting partners, and good variety appearances. all happened just in under 3 years!!

He's a good cook (var show miss korea) , good at study (hanyang univ student before debut without any celebrity special admission), brave (police award duh), can adapt well in nature (LOTJ in sabah), filial son (caught by tv show he's queing for a famous restaurant with other normal people because he wants to buy it for his mom), independent (had lived alone for 8+ years), very good with grandmothers (var show the gashinas), taking female crossdressing and female makeup roles seriously (just dance and tale of nokdu) which means he didnt care that much about masculinity and feel secure and comfortable of himself, but he had SIX PACK ABS which means he works out diligently and eat healthy but didnt show off about that, cute handsome and pretty at the same time.

speechless. Korea is lucky to have him. Hope he shines even brighter as an actor forever!! ??

I can't imagine an American or European actor being able to accomplish role with such authenticity. Bravo to all the actors in making this drama so much fun to watch.

Sometimes, he doesn't even need dialogue to bring out a character. He can act with just his eyes. And when he won an award in KBS Drama, he said "I'll keep bringing you acting that's true and not fake." Please do, Mr. JDY. We'll patiently wait and support you!

Now, I can’t help subconsciously favoring this guy too, even though I’ve only watched him in Solomon’s Perjury, and now (gladly!) in Mr. Sunshine.

I really enjoy his method of acting and I've watched him in both School 2017 and If we were a season, I can remember being a teenager watching the emotions on his face, he does a really good job of nailing the facials to the moods. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for his new shows.
