I think this was the School that had the most cast memebers that turned out to be future successful actors.

I loved School 2013, 2015, and 2017. The School 2021 lacked creativity in the story. I struggled getting halfway through and ended up not finishing it.

I hope they make another School sequel. This time around something more unique and suspenseful like involving a school murder. Or maybe something fun like some student with a sixth sense and can see ghosts.

I hope they upload School 1, 2, 3, and 4 on Viki soon.

The following episodes when Tae woon and Eun ho started to have feelings for each other, that's where the story became interesting. This drama shows some relevant issues that most school faces. The friendship throughout the whole drama and the playfulness of Tae Woon & Eun Ho's relationship and their sincerity ... it's all so realistic. Yes, there are the stereotypes but nothing is overdone. Everything reminded me of my high school days (except for X of course and everything related to it ?).

I've watched many other school-based dramas, but this one just tops everything. Almost the entire cast was pretty good at their job, I don't think I'll find a school drama as good as this anytime soon. ❤️ ++ it can be super hilarious at times with the "you are my everything" scene between the cop and the teacher & the sneeze of the principle and ..etc ??

While watching most of the other dramas, I keep looking at the time and just thinking "ugh.. when will the episode end?" but in school 2017 I never did once think that and suddenly an episode after episode is ending without me even noticing.

It was that good, everything about it is really really immersing and just makes you wanna watch everything. ❤️❤️

I've kept this drama hanging in my "To watch" list for a long long time but I finally did watch it, and I can't be happier about that. Please, don't hesitate to watch it, you might learn a lot from it.

Watched this without knowing nothing about the cast but i must say it was a great drama. I've got to know about the main cast bcs of this. I started searching for Sejeong, find out about ioi and gugudan. She made me back into kpop and kdrama. I must say, she's really a kind person, talented and funny. I became her fan after watching pd 101. Other than that, i watch all drama from kim junghyun, jang dongyoon, park sewan and seol ina. All the cast are amazing, i've watch other school series but this is still my favourite.

flowergirl May 25 2020 11:42 am The whole series is wonderful the storyline was great how they show the suffering of the students and how everyone dealt with it in their own way, defended themselves, did not say anything or even switched to evil. it was amazing in which way they deal with the corruption and the bad and unfair live they had the best was the romance !! how they played hard to get and then get close again!! and every time Hyun Tae-Woon smiled I died inside i loved his easygoingness and how cool he was with his motorbike and he was amazing in protecting his girl when someone was about to do something to her he was there at the right time !!!! the teacher was amazing if i had such a person in my school life everything would be soo much easier for me.

the whole cast was amazing everyone did a really good job!!!!
if you like high school series with romance, crime, finding friends  and maybe  lessons for your life

If you are not sure try it out !! I loved the series from the first episode and i never got bored it is definitely a series for bing watching !! i even brought the black hoody withe the white ribbons !!

Song May 21 2020 3:15 pm I don't like kdramas about high school but I gave it a try only for Kim Jung Hyun after I saw him in Crash landing on you. This drama was wonderful, in general nowadays dramas tend to be boring for me after ep 10, but somehow I feel like I will watch this drama again in a few months or a year. All episodes were interesting, not boring as I expected from a school drama. The chemistry between main couple was powerful, pure and sweet, and I really want to see them on another drama again. Somehow I feel something special in this drama because 2017 was the last year for me as a high school student. I am sorry that I didn't watch it at its time and I watched it after some years... Give it a try if you are looking for a drama about first love and friendship.

Ha Ri Jan 27 2018 2:32 am I loved the series, it had a great concept just like School 2015. The characters were great, although there is that one character I disliked (but there’s always that one character in every drama) I’ll totally recommend this.

I was kind of disappointed that the two main actors didn’t kiss, they were a cute couple in the show so I expected him to kiss her Atleast once, maybe I watch too many romances lol. (I know they kissed on the cheek but that didn’t meet my standards ?)

It was pretty interesting in the first episode but got boring in the next eps. I was not really buying the find 'x' plot and the storyline got too dramatic and cliched. It also had similarities with Cheer Up/Sassy Go Go. I never really finished the drama. I dropped it after episode 6. I was just disappointed. :'( I liked the chemistry between Eun-ho and Tae-Woon though. It was like the saving grace of the drama, for me.

Hanistar Dec 21 2017 5:47 am I'm glad I watched this. At first I was hesitant to watch because I could not move on from Lee Jong Suk & Kim Woo Bin bromance in School 2013. After watching this, it was surprisingly amazing. The scenes were amazing like you're watching a film instead of a drama. I just love the trio of Kim Jung Hyun, Kim Se Jeong and Jang Dong Yoon so much! I wonder why the rating is so low. Anyway guys, please watch this. Highly recommended.

the cast had chemistry all around, Mr shim was outstanding and hilarious, intense from the beginning to the end ( finding out about who X was at the beginning and at the end what would happen to the school and between the lead couples future)

youve got to love school drama (I enjoy them a lot as I can relate)

Snowangel Oct 14 2017 12:33 pm This is a very good drama. The story is addicting, chemistry of eunho and taewoon is crazy, the ending is perfect too in my opinion. Because I like happy ending, but without forcing it's character so I say it's perfect. Now I'm completely in love with Kim Junghyun. He's my ultimate bias for this moment. I'm waiting for his upcoming project after this. And although I've liked Sejeong before I watched this drama, this drama made me love her more. But it's lacking in screentime of the other characters. Like, sarang, kyungwoo and issue. Bora and younggun also make up with each other all of sudden in the last ep, without explanation how they make up. I also need more moments from mr.shim and sooji. More moments from daehwi and namjoo. But in the end, I don't really mind as long as taewoon and eunho get many moments, because they're the reason I watched this drama in the first place. I can say this is the best school series I've watched.

But here is why the story get low rating imo : 1. Focused too much on 2lead life and problem 2. Other classmate like the chebol kids with good grades, yoo kyung woo and Issues. Thier story weren't told. I wish the PD and writer tell thier story too like School 2013, almost every kids in lee jong suk ,kim woo bin class story are explain well and show friendship and teacher-student relationship. . Overall I did enjoyed this drama, but a little dissapointed because iT a School series after all. . If they are doing school series again in the future, please bring do tell lead roles classmate story too! . Out of 10 point, I give this drama 6 point!

I could actually feel the pain, the happiness, the sadness, the confusion, the love that their characters feel. I could sense the deep conections between them even through the screen of my phone, when I was watching it in the subway! This drama is making me feel refreshed and really happy and full of energy and positive about what will happen next. This drama inspires me to do what's right not what's convenient. Although my highschool story was not like school 2017, but I could feel highschool atmosphere in this drama. I dont care about the rating. I think this drama is so fresh with good actors and actress. This drama is one of the best korean drama ever.

Judith Sep 11 2017 10:57 am I keep confusing the School series with Reply 1988, which was a great drama. This is a continuation of a series used by KBS to introduce new talent, and over the years it has been an introductory vehicle for a truly amazing number of actors. I'm sure that this will be the stepping stone for the three main leads. Kim Jung-Hyun has a rather T.O.P. vibe to him, and Kim Se-Jeong and Jang Dong-Yoon were both excellent as well. It was fun to see Lee Jae-Yong in such a different role from the saguek patriarchs he is always playing. It's a light teenage drama, well done and with an excellent supporting cast. If you're looking for a rom-com that won't tax your brain too much, it's a good one to watch.

Sa-Rang, Kyung-Woo, and Issue had great scenes, and then they just disappeared all of a sudden. I swear my favorite "couple", Sa-Rang, Kyung-Woo, just disappeared and their story never progressed :(. Why did Rowoon even join this drama? I swear his scenes are useless and dont add the the story at all. :'(

Suzy Sep 09 2017 4:14 am For me.. The story was ok. It wasn't anything new. The main reason why this drama had low rating was mainly because of its plot. It was a very fresh and full of youth drama. But, it didn't have anything new. I enjoyed watching this drama but this surely isn't the best out there!

Sorry not sorry, if only the story didn't focused too much on Eun Ho maybe they'll get better result. I mean, almost in each accident, there'll be Eun Ho. And in the last few ep, almost all abt the romance between EH and TW. I do love them, srsly love them too much, but they still got a lot to tell to make this drama more interesting. For example; TW-daehwi friendship, our other couples' story, and many side characters seems like they're just here for addition, not for strengthen the story...

Bia Sep 08 2017 10:42 am This was good. However, as far as the romance is concerned, it wasn't that great. It was a bit cheesy. The acting performed by the actors was great. However, I'm more into a romance genre so i would suggest "Sassy Go Go" over this one. That had more chemistry btw the leads. SGG is way better than this one in every little aspect. You'll understand me after watching it. ;) Btw I'm not surprised to know that this drama had low ratings. If you're new to kdrama land, then you'll surely say this is the best. But there are many more interesting dramas out there. I enjoyed this series and would like to rate it 7/10. No offense. Fighting! ^_^

This drama brought back the memories being simply and average 18 years old. What should I do, bout new habits waiting the new episode being released and subbed when there's no more episode available? Or how to manage not to squeal watching our "Lemonade" couple's antics? Their ideals of viewing life and dream. Their friendship their hardship. Like the one that Sarang stated, dreaming is too fancy for her. Their struggle to find their place in society. Seeing their action might just looked like some kind of rebels. But they are young, possitive, naive, innocent. Their point of view is shaped by the environment and the adults. They create X to critize the mistakes overlooked by adults. Yah kinda childish. But truthfully X is just a way to discover their real self

Regret Sep 05 2017 4:38 pm The only problem of this drama is the first episode. It made it look bad. That's why the rating went down. Look School 2015! it had bad rating at first, but it went up from one episode to another. Cause it has really great first episode (and interesting idea of course) But I'm really happy that I continued to watch this drama. I almost stop after episode 4. This drama is surprisingly becoming the one of the best for me. Kim Se-Jeong did an amazing job. Still respect Kim Yoo Jung but I'm glad that she rejected the role. She is really awesome. Kim Hyun Jung was great too. Jang Dong Yoon was impressive (Dae Hwee characters was the reason I kept watching this drama at first). The teachers were good. Everyone was perfect for their character The story was amazing. School 2015 focused on bullying problem and family problem. School 2017 focus on how teenager pursuing their dreams and internal school problem (such as corruption in school and discrimination between students), which is more suitable for High School drama. I love both. Somehow I felt that sometimes the romance was too cute for High Schooler. :3 . But still, everyone love our lemonade couple (who doesn't?). They teased to each other. They protected each other's dream which made them really sweet couple. You can call me weird but if they were real couple, I would wish for them to be couple until they get dreams and get married (lol :3) . Student X (which is the main story) was great idea. Tae Woon and his father problem was classic one. (similar with Tae Kwang from School 2015). The difference is that Tae Woon is lead male. I love the fact that there were no triangle love story. It's lame. The story is perfect and it wasn't rushed (little bit at the end but still) Ost is pretty good, but School 2015 ost is better. Annd I didn't realize that this drama has ended. Hmm. I will miss this drama for sure. Our lemonade couple. Wish to have relationship like them (lol).

Cause I've to wait till next Tuesday, I'm searching another drama of JungHyun (TaeWoon) and found a short drama titled "Binggoo"! I enjoyed it..and 3casts from School 2017 also played at Binggoo. They're JungHyun, SunHwa (as a Police Woman in 2017 but appear as main heroine in Binggoo along side with JungHyun) and DaeHwi (he played as JungHyun's best friend in the past). It's kinda not makes sense to watch but indeed I enjoyed it so much. :)

However, when you acquaint yourself with amazing people, you won't even feel the pressure that much. Yes it is true that the main characters have the best chemistry (I talk about taewoon&eunhoo), but that is actually what makes this drama has too much clicheness & no stand-out point like other school series. It has no differences with other cliche dramas. But I admit that this drama is cute, but not that wow. Actually I quite enjoy this show but after I watch a brillian & superb drama like Secret Forest which cannot even be compared with this one, I quit school 2017. Bcs I cant handle it anymore, it is too cringey. It is bcs sf is too good and the gap w/ school 2017 is too big. It is too hard to move on from sf:( sorry Tae Woon-ah:(

There's a perfect balance of romance and suspense, while addressing a lot of problems of high school students. Also gives me perspective as well since I live in the US and high school is... way different from what's depicted in the drama.

It actually reminds me of a High School version of my first K-Drama, The Queen's Classroom. Sejeong is also doing a great job as the lead. Before this I've only known her as Sejeong and I've watched most everything she's been in but in watching her as Eun Ho I actually forget that she's I.OI/Gugudan's Sejeong and totally see her as the character she's playing.

It's so good even though the actors and actresses aren't as popular (I've never heard of any of them, am not a die hard kdrama fan & I am very picky at what I watch). No boring (and useless) second male lead syndrome, very strong female lead who hates injustice and knows what is right & wrong, and the romance between both main leads are not the usual lovey-dovey which is why I like them. This drama portrays the struggle of 18-year-old students well, with so many background stories of each student. The only downside is the teachers are so incompetent but I guess the producer wanna portray that teachers are also human struggling to fight with upper (unjust) management but worrying about whether they get to keep their job or not if they go against the school's upper management. I don't understand why it's still NR when this drama is so so so good. I prefer this one than School 2013 and School 2017. Fighting School 2017!

Are they really out there discriminating about grades and wealth? The teachers are super narrow-minded as mr.Shim is also so voiceless. Some of the characters are also too innocent for a high school student.

Despite this Spence about the identity of X, what is really addicting to me is to accompany these students in this difficult trajectory. How crazy is a school that watches more for the student's note than in the student itself. This rich × poor hierarchy was also a wonderful idea for drama.

About the romance since the first chapter Tae Woo shows closer to Eun Ho, and already evidence the relationship of both. I really like seeing them together, representing the typical high school couple. The friendship that turns out to be dating without even realizing it.

The public is not divided, I think some can not see that despite the tragedy that has happened, Tae's friend and Dae die to save so many people, I see it as destiny. If he hadn't died, Eun Ho would have morriso, and he wouldn't have known Tae. It's kind of cliché, but it makes sense. The famous red wire une Eun Ho and Tae Woon

Yes, our results got publish, the rich kid always have it all, bad grades meaning you're delinquent, good grades can take you anywhere and only the best got it all. I cried when watching the scene about friends and family as I encountered them or people around me. The words and phrases cut deep through my heart as I thought them again and again. Yes, I just finished my high school year so I knew that those things that are captured in this drama is what really happened in school nowadays. I am promoting this drama wherever and whenever I can. The storyline is really interesting and always keeps you hooked and the whole X thing is something different which is really refreshing to see. Also Sejeong's acting is actually really good! She's definitely a natural at it. I can see a love triangle developing between Eun Ho, Tae Woon and Dae Hwi so it will be interesting to see that play out but I'm definitely team Eun Ho and Tae Woon!!! They remind me of Jung Hwan and Duk sun from reply 1988, I swear the writers better not break my heart! If they don't end up together imma flip some tables

I'm unsure whether this writer has attended a day of high school in her life lol. It's entertaining from a fantasy standpoint, but if the goal of this series is to be relatable to the average student, it misses the mark by a lot.

FANTASY Jul 24 2017 4:25 am So I really like this drama, and I'm sad about how much hate this drama is receiving (I don't really know for South Korea but there are haters here + people saying there are loads of haters). I personally like the storyline, since it's more lighter and actually relating to school. The obvious exposure to the struggles of being a high school student is relatable to many. Although what's actually happening is not necessarily very realistic, the meaning behind it (struggles, being judged by scores) is. If you don't like the drama, just stop watching it and not spread unnecessary hate. Keep that negativity to yourself and don't hurt others by your biased opinion. If you've got some critiques, at least say it considerably without straightforward defaming. I think Sejeong is doing great as a rookie actor, she's got things to improve on, but this is her first drama, and all great actors must begin somewhere. Let's encourage her and state her points to improve rather than hating and saying 'oh she's a crap actor', because that advice isn't really helpful long term.

Can't wait for episode 3, Rowoon fighting!

The story was so unrealistic. But i have to say that Kim Sejeong did a great job for a rookie actress. Still awkward but i like it. And im in no position to crtitics her acting because even myself still don't know what kind of acting is the best. But overall , i still love to watch this drama and can't wait for its third episode.

I want to guess who the man behind the school terror. For me song dae whee he just looks like a good boy in the surface but he's the evil behind the terror. Maybe he has a problem with his family and with kim jung hyun(first guess) Or maybe the writer wants the audience to think that evil is among the main male actors but the reality is not one of them(second guess)

The problem about this drama isn't just about the external side but also the internal side. Eun Ho character is nothing special at all, and idk if you guys noticed it or not i think the story kinda has a similiarity with middle school-the worst year of my life which is about a student who's really good at drawing,a troublemaker and againts the principal like eun-ho did. It's not literally the same but it quite remind me at the scene where eun-ho drew the principal's face when everybodies were gathering in the same place, and also what happened to the school, like many pranks appeared. It was also happened in the movie i mentioned before...

For some of you that already worshipping the couple, i'm sorry but there is no chemistry at all, and i can't even blame the actor/actress because the story itself didn't provide a solid story. School 2013&2015 started with a badass character, and bully as the main idea which is very interesting because even if they had the same start, both the drama led us to a very different story to each other. And now this girl is pursuing her dream for a GUY? and how cheesy they potraying hyun tae-woon character as a second taekwang is kinda gave me an ill, "my family is rich and bla bla bla" i have to take a deep breath. Another things also more cliche with their friends, like setting up the smartest guys in the school with a beauty who only took granted for him *sigh* we knew what will happen soon, guys. A rich bad boy and u do also knew where it gonna lead us,right? And then back again to the main character, (. . . . . . ") a talented artist but a stupid student? and yes, you also already knew what will happen next because there's a lot of main character like that! There is no element surprise that makes our heart skip like how they did in the previous series. I hope the plot with the problem at school can save this drama at least, because the character itself ain't that interesting.

It's not because i want to spreading hate for you not to see this drama, but a honest opinion. Go watch it if you want, and i'd really hope for the best for this drama.

I'm really loving how relatable this drama is, and how I just want to punch the unjust people (which means they're doing a good job as antagonists, because you're meant to hate them). The action's already full on in the second episode, and ughhhhh I just need the next episodes. Sejeong's acting is amazing for a rookie, and I laughed quite a bit in some scenes. Can't wait until Rowoon comes in, a hardcore FANTASY (SF9's fandom name) here :) School 2017 and cast fighting, please be as successful as the previous school dramas!

It's like you're comparing a person who don't know how to use computer at all with a person who barely started using computer. Both are bad, nothing good can be captured. Although I can agree with the things you said after that.

My problem with this drama is, it slowly declines from a story of students with their problems, either personal or just school problem into mainly love stories with some over-dramatic way to resolve the problem. I don't see the chance of this drama getting higher rating than 2015 unless they decided to change the plot into less romance and more about school problem. School 2013 really set the judgment as a predecessor.

I admit that the "school stuff" in this drama is more and better than School 2015.. There are some real student's problem such as daily test or how tough the school, which is "missing" from School 2015. I love the idea that a "below-average" student has a great dream.. But the main problem is the lead female character. I know that we can't expect her have a great attitude, humble and pretty calm. Eun Ho character is so pretty weird to be a main lead role. I can't describe it, how can't I enjoy her character in this drama.. This will become my 8th drama that I watch.. But this is the first time I have some major problems in enjoying it. What annoys me, such as: How can someone want to go in to a great university for meeting her idol or "love"? Just to be with her idol? Is it the only reason why she wants to get into Hanguk University? I love the idea of this character but hate when watching it.

Anyway: Does Seoulyu University in the drama mean Seoul National Universty (SNU)? I really want to come in to that University.

sing Jul 17 2017 10:45 pm TBH I really didn't like the beginning and had to stop watching at minute 15:54, too much cliche. nothing new but acting was okay. I would not recommend bc if a drama doesn't have a good start it'll be like this for the rest of the drama. Anyone is free to watch this but I simply won't. Anyway, I hope they'll get a good result!!

Honestly, I stopped watching it after 50.10 minutes, I thought I could find the essence of an impressive story in this drama but it did not, the story is very boring. The cast and their acting skills are actually not bad, but the story is not interesting. If the theme of the school should be like the drama of The Queen's of classroom.

The PDs and casting director chose her, through an audition, and they believe she's right for the role. Nothing else you can do about that. Watch the show first before you think someone else should have gotten the role. These people are in the Korean drama industry, they work directly in the industry, and they're the ones in charge of the production of the drama - so saying that they should have chose someone else... when you don't even know the story? the role? how the auditions went? It's just funny. I think it's completely out of our place to judge who should have gotten the role or not since we don't even know zilch about the drama yet. Give the actors a chance & just wait for the drama to air & enjoy it. No use complaining at this point.

Shin Jae Ha is also a good actor but he's filming for While You Were Sleeping so I think he's impossible. For female, I love Lee Se Young. She has both acting talents and visuals. Jung Chae Yeon, Ryu Hwa Young, Baro, Kim Sae Ron, Ahn Seo Hyun, Gong Seung Yeon, etc. there are soooo many of good rookie actors and actresses, as well as idols who DO KNOW how to act, so please choose good ones, not those tho only have visuals but zero acting talent!!!
