Saburo (Shun Oguri) is a high school student good in sports, but not very good with his studies. One day, Saburo travels back in time and arrives in the Sengoku period of 1549.

There, Saburo meets Nobunaga Oda who looks and sounds just like Saburo. Nobunaga Oda is the son of a warlord and magistrate of the lower Owari Province. Nobunaga Oda though is physically weak and he asks Saburo to take his place. Then, Saburo as Nobunaga Oda attempts to unify the country of Japan.

Nenabunena Jan 30 2022 5:07 am To those complaining about Shun's age playing 17-18 at the start of the series, yes he was 31 at that time, not 33. But Nobunaga died at 48 years old. They needed an actor who can play young enough but also older. Ken Watanabe famously played Oda Nobunaga when he was 32 yet started when Oda was a teenager.

Besides, he played the part well and actually in episode 5 when he was in the bath. His slicked back wet hair reminded me of when he was in Crows Zero as Genji. That's another famous role of his when he played a teenager.

Either the love towards spouse, family, comrade, or country. I found this movie is so excellent and magnificent. This i also teaches about loyalty towards the country and the idealism to create a peaceful world without war. Hope more upcoming movies or drama like this in the making especially based on true story and fact like this drama. I absolutely rate 100/100! Thank you for all the actors and those in the making of this beautiful and memorable film!

Different things that in anime, it has 10 episode, while in the series has 11 episode, but the anime version don't have a movie version, while the series had it

And fun facts that kicho both version also a singer, too (nana mizuki and kou shibasaki)

I wish they really show the honnoji incident and what happen to saburo or 'not real' nobunaga in the end..hmmm at least show that if saburo going home to his world,'the future' or not...it sure great tho,the ending... What I understand...they might be wnt to make the next season? I hope they really do! Even already past 3 years?aamiin.

Elisa wald Oct 21 2016 2:06 am Well, I have already commented on the movie's page, but I'm gonna comment here too- for the people who hesitate watching this. Don't hesitate! Watch it! It's honestly one of the best drama I have seen!! And I have seen a lot of drama, Korean or Japanese, believe me... The action was on point, shun oguri as well as all the cast, perfect. You could laugh and ten seconds later be crying. The historic part is well done, it's not extravagant, you really believe you're there. The love is a true love, earned during all the drama. The only thing that I like a little less is the little incoherence there is, particularly in the debut. Why does nobunaga SPOIL 1rstEPISODE give so easily his place to saburo? He should've give him a meeting or something like that... And why doesn't anybody really be surprised by saburo' things, like the ball, smartphone ect...? Maybe there is a reason but well, that bothered me a bit ^^ END SPOIL. Other than that, sometimes the plot was a bit repetitive, but you probably can't do anything with that since its history, lol. And, I fast-forwarded sometimes and ended up regretting it, since I had missed important point, so don't do that. To tell you how I loved this drama... Really, 10/10. I had to give an important work for school, that counts for my entire year, and I watched this drama even though I knew I would then have to work all night. But, I'm glad I did it, because that's an awesome drama. Anyway, watch it! Even if it's just for oguri shun... Watch it! (Hope you all understood me, as English isn't my mother tongue haha~)

And I think he passed with his boyish charm when he was trying to confess his feelings to that Arisa girl and then pretended someone called him just to ran away. Japanese ikemen has this trade of looking sweet even at their 30s.

Drama was pretty complete: two indicators to Honno-ji Incident and the fact that real Nobunaga took Mitsuhide Akechi name tells all there is to it. Sure I will watch the movie, I loved Shun and Takayukis' creations, but I'm already sobbing for Saburo's fate. I wish that when a future-traveller is killed in The Warring States Era he just goes back to his times. But drama did not state this, so I'm guessing that's not the case.

Hanbei-kun and Nagamasa-kun are my favorite characters. and Nobunaga and Kichou relationship are so sweet. 10/10 for this drama :) banzai Saburou!

Fanta Nov 28 2014 2:40 am Lol, Nobunaga Oda become Mitsuhide Akechi !? Maybe the time when Mitsuhide betray Nobunaga, it is actually when saburo travel back to present. And because Kicho fall in love with Saburo, Mitsuhide can not return to his real identity. Well, overall this is a great dorama with great actors!
