Kang Yeo-Joo (Cho Yeo-Jeong) is a best-selling writer. She only writes crime stories, dealing with cruel murder cases. She constantly thinks about how to murder people for her novels. Kang Yeo-Joo is married to Han Woo-Sung (Ko Jun). He is a lawyer, specializing in divorce. He wrote a memo to his wife stating "If I cheat, I die."

Aran Oct 25 2022 7:33 am Just finished watching this drama.. n woooww... the real killer, i just didn't expect it until i watched the last episode. Bravo .. And I really like the comedy air tension between Han Woo Sung, his best friend Jin Ho and Yeo Joo (especially when Jin Ho and Yeo Joo interaction) hahaha... Ahhh, I don't know why there are so many fans who ship Yeo Joo with Soo Ho..And Woo Sung with Mi Rae?? (maybe the chemistry???) I don't know I just feel don't right to ship them. They already knew that Yeo Joo and Woo Sung have married and I don't want they become someone who interrupt their marriage relationship. I know I hate Woo Sung for being womanizer and cheated on Yeo Joo .But i really hope this become the last he done that and still keep on their marriage. (And they can have children maybe) hahah.. Nah I just want a happy family between Yeo Joo and Woo Sung though, it's not easy for Yeo Joo to open a heart to man I know because her trauma about his parent cheating, and Woo Sung to marry her. Anyway, Hope for season 2, where's the cast still the same with another mystery story!!

The whole ordeal could have been over 50% shorter (~8 episodes @ 40 minutes) and even then it wouldn't been that concise. Lost the whole plot after 3 episodes and didn't know who's who any more.

For those who don't like Ko Jun as the male lead, sorry to burst your bubble, but he nailed his character here..sweet and naive in the presence of his wife, but every damn bit a ladies' man haha..i like KYJ and HWS chemistry, u can feel the tension between the two of them, knowing HWS is cheating on his wife. I just wish they will not glorify women like Ko Mi Rae who still goes after men when they know that man is already married.

Lee Ha Na Apr 18 2021 5:14 am I should have liked more screen time for KYJ and CSH but it was very little til the end. I just skipped most of it unless it was their scene. Hoping they can be the focus if ever there will be a season 2. There were just so many angles to the background story, I just stopped guessing and went with the story flow without thinking who might have done this or that. But in the end, finally the murderer was revealed but of course you never guess who it was because the clues were not revealed until the end. All what was shown were the clues leading others except the real killer. Nice job to the scriptwriter and director. P.s. Kim Young Dae is Hot AF He has some features similar to Gang Dong Won. Hope to see him in more projects after Penthouse!

The mix of genres is great, it doesn't overlap. The acting is on point, too, even for Yeonwoo which I never see any of her drama. I feel disturbed watching HWS and GMR interaction, even when they didn't have an affair (yet). And I sure dig the growing chemistry between KYJ and CSH. I think it's going to be cringe, but it's not. Both HWS+GMR and KYJ+CSH are compensating each other.

And there's HWS+KYJ. They would've made a great couple if KYJ didn't lead a risky life and HWS didn't cheating. They look very equal. Unfortunately sometimes powerful meets powerful will end up overpowering each other.

Aaaand this is my appreciation paraghraf for Kim Youngdae. I did't watch Penthouse so it's my first time watch him. I can see why he's a sensation. His acting is swaying elegantly, there's no unnecessary impression. His posture, his gesture, his slightest expression here is just... chef's kiss.

However I agree they wrapped up this drama in such hurry. Like, who wears the blue high heels in the cemetery when they re-dig BSJ's grave? Did I miss something? Is that KYJ? Or even the NIS girl (Bae Noori)? It makes sense if they're saving those unanswered things for Season 2 (if there is).

Bonus : GMR's husband is HWS's asisstant in The Fiery Priest... he's quite famous back then for his appearance even when he was just a figurine. If there's season 2, I can't wait to watch him and HWS fighting haha because he was so loyal to him in The Fiery Priest.

Lila-Rosa Bezel (update) Apr 05 2021 10:06 am omg i'm being whiny. it's get better and more thrilling towards the end. apart from that, Kang Yeo Joo is really fascinating. Her character, her vibes, her micro-expression, even her wardrobe, ahh... it suits Cho Yeo Jeong so well.

And honestly I was concern about Yeojoo and Sooho pairing because of the age gap and all in the beginning, but it turns out to be just... imperfectly perfect (?). CSH is so eye-candy too oh God...

And I want to praising Yeon Woo and Ko Jun too. Althought their roles are sometimes sooo pushing my button, but it must've been awkward to act with the same big age gap as Yeojoo and Sooho. They did well. They all did.

Throughout this drama? If so, why would she be given sharp senses if the writer made her look innocent and easily fooled about her husband's infidelity. So far, because of that it has become a bit frustrating to watch it.

This drama literally not have a simple plot and always makes you anticipated what happens next episode, and it will lead you until the last episodes. As many said that this story have a slow plot, I'm honestly would be disagree about it. I think that this have a perfect plot, how they keep the mystery genre. Totally recommended and trust me, you will be satisfied with this drama. Hoping for season 2 <3

redhowhow Feb 21 2021 10:54 am DEFINITELY DEFINITELY RECOMMEND it for everyone! Especially if you are like me who loves mystery + light comedy + light romance = COMIYC!! I am not a fan of the actors at all really (but I knew them the wife from Parasite and ex-Momoland member and then Nam Ju from Extraordinary You) before watching the drama but I would say I am def a fan of them now! I watched this because I am kind of done of rom-com at the time and decided to watch this and boom LOVED IT!!

Actually, I find the plot not really that special especially coming from Philippines whose series are always about cheating/adultery and revenge. But the events, the twists, the delivery and the characters are just so superb and well-made wow.

I'll be honest I really fell in love with the characters of KYJ and CSH so bad!! I did not expect the progress between them. Aside from the mystery, the two are the ones I'm really really looking forward every episode! At first, I just find them cute and thought that they have chemistry. But wow! It is real! The author really giving us hope they may have 'something'. Well it is an open ending but if I were KYJ I will def decide to leave HWS after cheating with like two women behind her back so brazen and with her dreadful past built up due to adultery is just not right. But the writers can go like 'true love' and whatever after all HWS's mistakes KYJ will forgive her because of true love and destiny and all I CAN ACKNOWLEDGE THAT but damn I seriously want KYJ and CSH to end up with each other like CSH def knows and understands KYJ better and to be fair they have more love story than KYJ and HWS in the build up. The writer really not toning down with 2nd lead syndrome from beginning till the end! I hate it and love it at the same time lol!

And yeah the series is so rushed. Like ten times rusher than other series (def because of pandemic). But that doesn't mean the series is bad. No not all! Still one of the best dramas of 2020 I swear! Better than True Beauty! (but that doesn't mean True Beauty is bad okay) First of all KMR and her husband not yet resolved??!! The two have such big impact on the characters??!! They are like the trigger for Season 2. Second is CEO HYS and her revenge against KYJ??!! Third is Lawyer PHK and her revenge against HWS??!! That def is not resolved??!! Like that conflict just gone suddenly??!!

DEFINITELY NEEDS A SEASON 2! I imagine the 2nd season to be more thrilling and daring with more action. KYJ is on bigger trouble! She is so fragile she needs someone as capable like CSH to protect her! Also KMR is def going all out for HWS and I do think they deserve each other.

Gosh. I really find this such a good drama. I don't think I can get over with the characters yet.

Lloyd Saldanha Feb 02 2021 2:39 am Loved the slow build up, kudos on the story telling. The cast played it to the T! Cho Yeo-Jeong and Ko Jun in their own characters are really loveable. Interesting plot and worth the watch.

Having said that, the last two episodes were a let down for me. It seemed like there was so much story to unfold but they had to wrap up the series and it forced the creative team to make a potpourri of what was available and shoot. Please tell me there is a Season 2. I still haven't been able to digest that the series is done for.

All those characters have enough material to showcase, and as a Series glutton, I love to see that story enfold. Hoping there is a Season 2. Fingers crossed!

Van Feb 01 2021 12:36 pm I really enjoy watching this drama. It is funny and entertaining. I love the casting. Cho Yeo-Jeong and Joon Go really nail their respective roles. The plot is interesting and intrigue in the beginning but it kinda drag on for a while until the end. I feel that the ending was a bit rush. I wish the writer should have a side story with Go Mi Rae and Han Woo Sung and then Kang Yeo Joo with her assistant. However, that maybe is wishful thinking. I really hope they will make a second season. Overall, I still think this is a good show. I would recommend this drama strongly if you are up for a light comedy.

Their' chemistry is strong and they suit each other. Despise Han Woo-Sung unforgivable cheating with several women at a time behind his wife, wearing his "innocent" mask in front of his wife. He doesn't deserve KYJ. There should be season 2, or a spin-off of this drama to develop KYJ and CSH relationship; Ko Mi-Rae's story; the police partners' relationship development, and the aftermath of divorce of the cheating husband, HWS.

She is so smart and notices everything but when it comes to her husband she was clueless about his cheating. But there a re still a lot of question I need to be answered to like how can the lawyer get jealous when he started to cheat on her. Or what will happen to Mi Rae et what about Mr Ma. Will he die? Is there something between Kang Yeo Joo and Cha Soo Ho? I became addicted to this drama and obviously I learned a lot from her like I swear that If my husband one day will cheat on me I will kill him (not yet I'm still 15). Someone please make season 2 no matter what ok? I love them and now I can't just let it pass this way . Hope for an answer and a season 2 ♡

There are so many small details you must notice for the story to make sense. I have read bad reviews on this site about the story being so confusing, well that is what makes it good! No mystery fans would want the mystery be solved at the first episodes. Some of the great mystery books are even unsolved! We love the the roller-coaster!

1. Yeo joo so mystery and hold many secret. I feel so sad at her character. Yeo joo just show her strong. I love how her resolve thing and make it clear to police and make more suspense. I really love her and woo sung + his funny friend.

2.Maybe about her father, the ceo beak su jeong and her mother. The relationship must be bad that give her bad experience before. Last time mr ma have mission to kill Yeo joo and stop by her father at last. Bcz the book.

3. How about their relationship been solved with woo sung and Yeo joo. I need some positive scenes that will make happy ending for them. He at last realized that he truly loved Yeo joo and try to make A good relationship with her.

3. Soo hoo is a good partner with yeo joo. I like the scenes that he try protect her even have suspicious on her. I think his know that Yeo joo is not bad. He will protect her from Mr.Ma. he not realize that her friend like him. Maybe will be worker partner only. Just work for them. Hehehe

4. Ko mirae her character would try to ruin the relationship between Yeo joo and woo sung. She must have one mission in his mind to stay alive from her family and jae ha. I really don't like jea ha. He so mean to mirae and make her to do bad thing. I hope mirae will happy with her live and become more stronger and stay positive.

5. Sad to know that the ahjumma that kill the seo jeong. Must have some plot or history on yeo joo family before this that make ahjumma try to protect yeo joo happiness. I love how her really caring and take care of yeo joo.

6. Maybe yeo joo would take the blame for ahjumma.

7. I don't know what make Yeo joo so scared with ceo beak seo jeong. Must have something!

8. How the police would handle the case before this with mr gwak. And with this it will open the secret with yeo joo father scandal before!!! Mr Nam, yeo joo father and Mr Ma. Would be something.

Whattt Jan 22 2021 11:32 pm This show is all over the place. The maid was sitting at the cafe but police said no one was suspicious there? The maid stood by and listened to FL and mistress convo at the cafe? How did they not noticed her on the cameras the police just watched??.. The police didn’t think to get a warrant to check out FL house? Knowingly, she has the same knives as the killer and was missing a knife? Even though she is a prime suspect?.. How does that make sense? The plot is all over the place in this drama. It feels like the writer don’t know how he would like to end it. The ending will be a cliffhanger..

Idk why I continued watching maybe I’m just eager to know who the killer really is. I love the characters and I really enjoyed this show for the first couple of eps but after ep 6 this show lost its plot. Great acting skills but the show does not make sense at all. Their’s no real plot & every ep is like a maze with no end. It should’ve been kept as affair show but adding these unnecessary secret service people is not helping the story.

Remember when she said that Baek Su-Jeong was her "creation" (or something else to that effect)? Metaphorically speaking, it could mean that it is also within her right to "terminate" her "creation"..

It really unexpected weather her know or pretend not to know woo sung cheating before koh mirae. I hope that woo sung will be forgive and happy with Yeo joo. Happy ending for them.

Fine he got into the marriage willingly but why did they drag Jin Ho and Yoon hee into their cheating mess and drama. And she gave advice to Yoon hee to get rid of the mistress (kill the mistress). Are we supposed to even like any character in this drama. I don’t find the “murder threats” funny. Why is the college student Mi rae persistently trying to steal someone’s husband who isn’t even interested in her. (Still like my boy Soo-Ho tho).

To me that person really is suspicious from the start. Or it could be a new character that we haven't met yet. Who knows.

I still haven't decided who the killer is, but I'm sure the college girl will have a significant role as the story unveils (since she was promoted as the top 4 leads, of course). I used to have suspicion on the female (newbie?) agent, but I realized she's just taking orders from Mr. Ma.

Also, is it just me or is Kang Yeo Joo's eyeliner kind of distracting? I can't help but to notice them every time she has a close up shot...

I almost stopped watching after episode one thinking it would be a dragging drama with no characters to root for or like but I am so glad I kept going. Twists and turns galore! The more you learn the less you know. Cant wait for more episodes! I never know what will happen next.

Crewss Yall Did A Great Job i hope it won't get ruined until the end AMEN coz all the casts are on top of their game. it gives me parasite vibes but that's probably because cyj is here lmao Anyways the storyline is interesting. it's funny but thrilling at the same time. i just know that there's going to be a huge plot twist in the end so my brain is working hard to come up with theories lol also i can't help but feel required to ship kyj and csh!!!!!! they look good together. their height difference is adorable. also seems like csh has a crush on her??????? he enjoys watching her (smiles along when she smiles) and adores her + gets jealous whenever she's with the cheating hubbie. LOL hoping they'll end up together but somehow i get the feeling that the crush is going to be one-sided, aka kyj doesn't seem to even want to love him back, other than considering him as a close friend/brother... well oh well. as long as she'll divorce the husband...

i can't wait for the next ep. i'm curious who's behind the murder. could it be ma dongkyun?? he told csh to erace all traces related to kyj after all... i wonder why hMmMm (is he a fan? does he secretly love her or what??) also i'm 1000000000000000000000000000% sure kjy knows everything about her husband's affairs. she's way too intelligent to not notice anything. she obviously just plays dumb. but what for????? what's her plan??? surprise Me. p.s. i have this feeling that csh might be a huge fan of her from the start. like kyj could be the reason why he wanted to be an agent in the first place, her novels inspired him somehow. he adores her and obv has a crush on her since she's pretty, charismatic, clever and all. then he gets the chance to watch/investigate/stalk (lol) her and that's where he falls for her even more. but he knows he won't have a chance to date her because he's way younger. since kdramas have this (boring) tradition of connecting the characters'pasts with each other.. it's possible for csh to probably have met kyj before(?), either when he was still a kid or few years back..... blah idk what i'm talking about lol i'm taking this drama way too seriously bye Haha

imo don't @ me Sep 22 2020 7:12 am Cho Yeo-jeong's role in Parasite was indeed good and unique but not very helpful to get her into my preference. But she caught me in Casa Amor. She looks so fine playing that kind of character. Not to mention that she is considered as a hottie too. So does with Go Joon, he is always that hot papito. A hottie deserves to be paired with a hottie too. Their appearance and vibes are in the same mature spectrum also. Can't wait for this bomb.
