It has been years since the drama aired in 2016, yet Wang So and Hae Soo’s story still lives in our hearts every single day. Season 1 ended with one of the most beautiful and heartbreaking finales in K-drama history. We were left with tears, unanswered questions, and a deep longing for closure. The final scene of Wang So finding Hae Soo’s handkerchief in the present day gave us a sliver of hope that their love could continue. But without Season 2, that hope feels unfinished. This drama wasn’t just a show for us. The cinematography, OST, acting, and storyline created something timeless. IU and Lee Joon-gi’s performances were unforgettable, and the chemistry of the entire cast made Goryeo feel real. Even after 10 years, fans still trend #MoonLoversSeason2, create fan edits, write fanfictions, and rewatch the drama to keep it alive. I am writing all the way from the Caribbean,(Trinidad and Tobago to be exact) to let you know that your show Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo was and is loved by millions across the globe. I know this because how can such a little island such as where I live be so in love with K Dramas when people don't even know about us. Trust me when I say, a season 2 will break an international record for Moon Lovers. I have some ideas which I would love to share when you decide to create this masterpiece. Allow me...In this 2nd season, Wang So wakes up in present time. He already knows he's in Hae Soo's time and as he sets about to seek her he sees his family on the news. His father is a billionaire and he is telling the nation to keep his son in prayer who has been in a coma for 1 year. He somehow turns to a mirror beside him where he notices he still has his scar and while taking it all in, he hears footsteps approaching him. He turns around and sees his mother who joyfully puts her arms around him and begins to cry because her son whom she loves dearly is awake. Wang So feels this genuine love and even though in shock hugs her back and cries. He is shortly greeted by his siblings who both his parents also adore. Everyone is happy and he comes to realise that each sibling is well off and has partners of their own. He is the only single child. When reality sets in, he remembers Hae Soo. They get home where he is greeted by their long time family friend(Choi Ji Mong) who tells him his father is on a flight back home and is so happy to see him. Suddenly he sees his half siblings who are now his cousins in present time. He ends up telling everything to Choi Ji Mong who already knows what had happened and he tells Wang So he was expecting him and that he knew where Hae Soo was working. He tells him that Hae Soo would often be seen at the museum looking at the paintings especially 1 with the garden for hours where she said she was waiting by the garden for her lover. Wang so decides to seal this once in a lifetime deal with a proposal and heads off to the Museum. While there, paparazzi begin crowding the place to get pictures, interviews etc with Wang so but he quickly gets rid of them when he is escorted into the room and the door is shut so loud Hae Soo gets a flash back of being in the Palace. She hears footsteps approaching her and her heart begins to beat so hard and as she is about to turn around she hears the words "Thank you for waiting for me My Queen..." The rest of this short season concludes healing from what they've both been through and spends the rest of their lives together. At the end of this season, we see a very old Wang So and Hae Soo as they complete their love story while looking at pictures of their life together, their children, grand children and soon to be great grand children. There love story definitely makes it to the Moon and back <3 Jillibean Apr 26 2025 5:26 pm So many masterpieces to his credit! My top favorite will probably always be That Winter The Wind Blows. The chemistry between the leads was second to none. I think IRIS must have been his biggest challenge. It's Okay That's Love is also magnificent. Padam Padam was quite different from normal K-drama fare but in a way that made it all the more fascinating. I mean, how many Korean dramas start with the male lead about to be executed by hanging??? Whoa! Live was also different from the normal and that's why I liked it too. Now I think Moon Lovers is more for younger viewers and I'm a senior citizen so I was a bit bored by it, quite frankly. How many times can a character fall into a body of water in Korean dramas and then find themselves in a different historic era? It's comical it's been used so much. It was so beautiful, how the lady which is Hae Soo ended up with the 7 princes in a palace. So much interesting storyline, the romance one, the plot twist that we never knew how hard things living in palace, it was a great exposure to us the viewers. But sadly why you made the farewell between Wang So and Hae Soo so much hurts ! It was the worst heartbroken I had ever experienced, we demand for happy ending please, Mr Director! please consider our feeling and interest towards this precious drama, despite all of the new dramas that coming out, Scarlet Heart will always be the winner. I am watching moon lovers at 3 Rd time. IU is really good. But in dangerous situations like her going to fall to the river beneath, biting the assassination's hand. So if Korean's don't like the uncut version why not show that to them and let us see the uncut version. Most people are really upset that scenes are being cut out. Also most of the scenes you are cutting out have the your male lead actor Lee Joon-Gi in them. That completely doesn't make sense at all. Please stop doing this. It's disrespectful to your lead actor and also to your foreign viewers. TechnoKeats Feb 01 2013 10:21 pm Have to say, his direction has improved a lot since "A love to kill". Don't get me wrong... all his dramas are visually captivating and expertly directed. Just that the element of angst is a bit too much and sometimes the plot gets a bit too convoluted. I wonder how it would be like if he directs a "happy"... "Feel-good" drama?
