Janette Mar 08 2025 11:09 am The director for The Scandal of Chunhwa mentioned that he wanted someone charming, assured but with a bit of a little boy for the male lead. Jang Ryul fit into that so well. He has a killer boyish charm and smile. His deliberate speech, never losing his calm is so attractive. Whenever he is happy, his speech doesn't change but his eyes, his smile says it all. Like when the Princess asked him to be her husband, he just said I do, I am very happy. I heard that Go-Ara wasn't the first choice but good that she took the role, I think the chemistry is pretty good. He literally has a face of versatility. Because of the roles he plays, it takes a min to realize what other shows he’s been in. He is a phenomenal actor. I loved his acting cause he played the roll of a freak so well like the arrogance, nasty expression was all on point, would love to see him in more movies and roles. Very similar acting style to Gary Oldman when he was younger (see "The Firm" (TV Film) "Leon", "True Romance" and especially "State of Grace") and I look forward to seeing how his career pans out.
