Risako Yamazaki (Kou Shibasaki) lives with her 3-year-old daughter and husband. She is informed that is selected as an alternate lay judge in a criminal case. The defendant in the case is Mizuho Ando. She is also a housewife and about the same age as Risako Yamazaki. She is on trial for drowning her 8-month-old daughter in a bathtub. Risako Yamazaki feels hatred to Mizuho Ando, but, after the trial begins, Mizuho Ando's situation reminds Risako Yamazaki of her own past memories.

Piyusha Oct 26 2021 4:35 am I'm so impressed w the screenplay, writing and acting in this show. Such a real subject that affects majority of the population. The foreshadowing of the 2 narratives was so well done. Hats off to the makers & actors. Episode 5 gives one chills, especially when Risako realizes her resonance w the case of the accused.

One of the best series I've seen.

They use average people you can relate to, not everyone has to look like a model. This drama was top notch!
