Masaki Sara (Masahiro Matsuoka) is a detective of the Investigation Team 1 at Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. His colleague, Detective Kota Sato, dies during an investigation of a murder case. Afterwards, Masaki Sara is transferred to the Personnel Department 1 of the Inspection Division. He still suffers from the death of his colleague Kota Sato. The other workers around Masaki Sara are hostile to him. One day, a letter reaches the personnel department. The letter claims that Detective Nako Minaguchi leaks secret information. Detective Nako Minaguchi used to work with Masaki Sara in the Investigation Team 1. Masaki Sara begins to investigate the claim in the letter. His investigation leads him to the unsolved case of the death of his colleague Kota Sato.

Grandmalee Oct 31 2021 8:18 pm A complex but boringly told story about how rivalries for promotion to a high position within the Police Department lead to scandals, cover-ups, and personal sacrifices. Too little is known about the personal lives of the main characters, making it a drama without much human interest. I find some of the links in the story unclear or missing, causing confusion as to who's who or what's what. There seems to be more to the character played by Tetsuhiro Ikeda than revealed. The same is true of the department head played by Toru Nakamura. What exactly are they up to besides being cold, straight-faced, good cops of the cops? Masahiro Matsuoka is in fine form and shows acting skills other than those he uses to play Mr. Housekeeper. Rika Izumi is able to portray a character that elicits sympathy for her loss of a fiancé and admiration for her strength, persistence, and dedication to work. Partly for the wrong reasons noted above, there is quite a bit of suspense through all six episodes.
