"Dear My Friends" takes over tvN's Fri & Sat 20:30 time slot previously occupied by "Memory" and followed by "The Good Wife" July 8, 2016.
Screenwriter No Hee-Kyung previously worked with special guest actors Zo In-Sung, Lee Kwang-Soo & Sung Dong-Il in 2014 SBS drama series "It's Alright, This Is Love."
First script reading took place February 2, 2016 at CJ E&M Center in Sangamdong, Seoul, South Korea.
Filming for drama series began February 24, 2016. Ko Hyun-Jung and Zo In-Sung will film on location in Slovenia and Croatia for one week beginning March 3, 2016.

Although it's comical and lighthearted, there are moments that brought me to tears. As with all K-Dramas, a few of the later episodes dragged, and I was entirely disinterested in Wan's love story. In comparison with the elderly characters, Wan appeared shallow and boring. The elders are beautiful, flawed people who end up facing the traumas of their past that they tried to bury. *spoiler* there's a happy ending

Park Min May 08 2023 7:23 pm I found that Park Wan and the triangle involving her was unfitting and problematic to the drama. I understand that they wanted to draw some parallels with the old ladies but it could have been done in another way. There were plenty of other possibilities to make her intertwine with others. I would rather have that time reallocated to the elders. Anyway, it's good.

but as the same time, i miss my mom more after watched the drama. mom's love never ending. they liked to endure everything by themself. they are so strong. they are capable to do so many things. they are the best comfort place to held your tired head. i dont know what kind mom i would become one day, but this reminds me that i want to be like my mom. i wish to hold her more like she did when she was still alive. regret always comes to the end but thats why it called regret. take care of your parents well for anyone who read this and still have the parents.

I've seen so many subpar series that I couldn't get past epi 1. Series like this remind me that kdramas have no many gems and potential dey just like feeding the gooey lovey teenagers what dey want with cute boys that cant act to save their lives and make series like this so underrated. There was nothing slow about this, RICH dialogue, not all those superficial conversations with pity looking faces. Now, I can write this on my Kdrama hall of fame. I didnt even find 1 bad review, and I knew it cos I believed I wasn't the only one that could see how remarkable it was. More like this or even better. Fighting

It's rare for me because I am not really into watching series. Totally deserves the awards that it obtained. Btw, Jo insung is handsome here. Love his chemistry with Go Hyunjung, they're not even the main characters. Superb drama!

The sad young life was really hard for the oldies it was quite so sorrowful, the failures, sickness and loneliness is a sad reality of old life... The love story of Wan and Yeon-ha at the beautiful countries of Slovenia & Croatia crossover SK was so tragic and sweet! But I just love it as they have managed to have a happy ending! ... Congratulations to the writer, director, cast and crew! Hope they make more series like this where there is comedy, drama and lessons to be learned, it will make you realized to live the moment in life fiercely and confidently in order not to die in a pathetic way... Everyone was excellent - they arent like cutesy light perfect charcters but you will love each of them portraying real life people . This show made me understand more on how elderly people thinks ,their ways and how they feel and react on things . Go hyun Jung tgged as one of the highest paid actress was worth the price - TBH, not to exagerate ,cant think of anyone who would act better than her as Wan. This show mad me laugh and cry a lot . I know the writer because she was kinda famous for her rom mcoms but this genre - was she exceeds expectations of them . Waiting for their next series .

This will definitely be a classic and an all time favourite drama. I think there won’t be a part 2 though I’m hoping for one :(. I still feel that KHJ deserved the award in the 2016 tvN Awards. All in all, this was such a great drama:)

I thought it would be boring because it's not the typical I would feel butterflies in my stomach kind of feeling. I decided to watch this because it won best drama and I was not disappointed at all. I love this drama. It deserves the best drama award because it's realistic, heartwarming, and it made me cry a few episodes. The script was well done. Thanks to the writer and the veteran actors. For Goblin fans that are upset that Dear my Friends won all I have to say is go watch it and you will understand why this drama won.

While compared to this drama, it reflects the true character of society, the warmth of friends and family. That is what we call a good drama. A drama which captivates the audience sincerely through real life scenes. I strongly recommend Reply 1988 too. This kind of dramas are really worth watching compared to dramas like LOTBS, Goblin. I'm just so proud for them to win best drama this year.

Everything about it is superb. Made me want to watch everything each actor and actress has ever done before and since. But, for me, the one who "graduated" dramatically was Lee Kwang-Soo. He makes me want to repeat the whole drama all over again.

Everyone will surely realize that we are all connected or maybe experienced such situation.. I really like how kwangsoo's character show how worst our life xan be but still remember to go where they came from... Will surely continue to watch this show

my3views Jan 08 2016 10:20 am Holy Mother of all that is GLORIOUS "Dear My Friends" is guaranteed to be an emotional spark of humanism simply and singularly bec of the author No Hee-Kyung. She wrote the brilliant "It's Ok That's Love" need I say more. Her writing is really penetrating, filled with cerebral pauses and sighs not in an exhausting way but every hopeful. I am so over the moon excited that No Hee-Kyung has another drama coming.
