On the first day of attending his new high school, Park Sae-Ro-Yi (Park Seo-Jun) punches his classmate Jang Geun-Won, who was bullying another classmate. The bully is the son of CEO Jang Dae-Hee (Yoo Jae-Myung). The bully's father runs restaurant business Jagga where Park Sae-Ro-Yi’s own father works. CEO Jang Dae-Hee demands to Park Sae-Ro-Yi that he apologizes to his son, but Park Sae-Ro-Yi refuses. Because of his refusal, Park Sae-Ro-Yi gets expelled from school and his father gets fired from his job. Soon, an accident takes place. Park Sae-Ro-Yi’s father dies in a motorcycle accident caused by his ex-classmate Jang Geun-Won. Burning with anger, Park Sae-Ro-Yi viciously beats Jang Geun-Won. He is soon arrested and receives prison time for the violent assault. Park Sae-Ro-Yi decides to destroy the Jagga company and take revenge upon CEO Jang Dae-Hee and his son Jang Geun-Won. Once Park Sae-Ro-Yi is released from prison, he opens a restaurant in Itaewon, Seoul. Jo Yi-Seo (Kim Da-Mi), who is popular on social media, joins Park Sae-Ro-Yi’s restaurant and works there as a manger. She has feelings for Park Sae-Ro-Yi.

Chooozi Apr 07 2026 12:20 am Beautiful series, but only thing I found so odd blegh was the love triangle of the female leads and the writing of the female lead characters (Jo Yi-Seo and Oh Soo-A); they were really frustrating to watch as they came through the scenes - where Jo Yi-seo was so obnoxious and mean was jus an especially frustrating watch.

This is an excellent show and I rate it A-

It's inspiring and heartbreaking at the same time.. it makes you laugh and cry.. it makes you want to just stay by Saeroyi's side as he fights against all odds to live the life that he wants & deserves!! Fighting!!

The last 2 episodes were bad, really bad. Just turned into a typical kidnapping don't tell the cops garbage trope. What happened to the crush him in business idea. Again another series with a horrible ending

Liz C May 29 2025 6:15 pm I’ve watched itaewan Class several times now and wondered if there had been parts taken out of the original. The schoolboy who had milk poured over him and later became the leads advisor and the lead running around the school course, both at the beginning of the series didn’t seem to be there, didn’t seem to be there this watch. I know the series jumps around time wise, maybe it will be shown later on. Whatever, I just love this drama and of course the lead actor.

randi henderson Apr 23 2025 2:03 pm This was the greatest writing ever. I am seeing so much of the morals and teachings in my life, work life. I started watching Korean dramas almost 6 years ago. Before I watched a lot of anime. I had long given up on American TV because the writing is so poor, and generally hadn't been a TV watcher. Five years ago, I don't know, I just stumbled across a KDrama on Netflix called Stranger, and since then, I have not looked back. I know I'm five years late for this program, but this is wonderful. I wanted to reach out to the writer and director, I am just awestruck. I have my 65 year old mom hooked to KDrama, and even though this show is young kids, she is just totally wrapt with this program, calling me, crying, laughing. This is beautfiul. Absolutely Love the actors. Just awesome.

Kdrama Llama Feb 23 2025 1:05 pm I delayed watching this drama due to an extended romcom marathon but having recently watched and loved Park Seo Jun’s Dong Man in Fight for my Way, I decided to give it a go. My only regret is not watching sooner, they smashed it!

There’s a whole bunch of really compelling and unique characters but it was PSJ that stole the show, Saeyori was such an amazing character and his performance was perfection… This show made me finally realise one of the big reasons why I love KDramas, the depth and complexity of male characters in particular is often absent elsewhere (see also Dong Hoon in My Mister and Mr Gu in My Liberation Notes).

Kim Da Mi as Yi Seo was another highlight as a totally unique FL, hard to believe it was one of her first major roles. Shout out for the soundtrack as well as costume design too, PSJ’s extensive jacket collection deserves its own fan page!

Nabi Jan 27 2025 3:16 pm It's good up to the point where Chairman Jang turned on his son "for the company". The plot and story lost me after that. Also got tired of Yi Seo's constant whining about her feelings for Saeroyi. Like enough already! People aren't obligated to return your feelings just because you do all kinds of things for them. I kinda dislike that about kdramas. This thing where people burden others with their feelings for them. Nothing in the drama made any sense after Geun Wun goes to jail. Like the writers just realised they had to fill up 16 episodes so they just wrote whatever.

Also, Geun Soo's character shift made Zero sense. Like, explain the level of his hatred to me please, because I don't get it.

She navigated between conflicting forces of love and duty, ultimately triumphing in the end. Her journey was compelling and satisfying. Looking forward to Kwon Nara in more dramas

At the end, she was vindicated, she gracefully let go of Park Saeroyi, opened her own business and met a new possible love interest. She moved on. And if that does not represent strength and sophistication as a woman, I would not know what does. No one could’ve played this character as well as Nara did.

Anonymous Aug 03 2023 6:12 am I stopped watching because the female lead is so annoying. She's so arrogant and self centered. What a bish! Her face is not pleasant or cute at all.

Other than that, there are so many unnucessary repeating scenes, flashbacks, heart to heart talk etc. I could not feel the battle between Jangga & IC that much. Good storyline but fail in execution.

I rest my case and cont to watch other interesting drama.

I also think it's one of the best dramas I've seen so far. Especially Kim Da-Mi captivated me with her very authentic portrayal of "Jo Yi-Seo". Park Seo-Joon also played his role very well. I was impressed by both of them and also the other cast members. Great story and excellent casting.

Different from typical female leads and extremely well written character.. people are too obsessed with looks so sone people actually like the 2nd girl Soo-ah who's actually annoying i dont understand how people want someone who's never stood with the male lead never stayed by his side for all those difficult years he was alone even took help from people who ruin main leads life and even kept on working in opposite of main actor. While jo yiseo actually felt the pain of hero shared his past memory of loneliness fought for hero stayed by his side kept on staying by his side even being rejected by him again and again .Her love was actually selfless she didn't act like she's good instead she was so straightforward didn't sugarcoat things said things what was in her mind was intelligent and didn't want someone rich instead made tge guy rich.. And her character development was so good she actually started to understand people became a worm person and the best thing she made the hero's life sweet and happy. I love the scene where hero kneeled for yi seo's life and people don't understand and bleme that he didn't kneel for his dad, there his dad's life was not in the line and also he didn't knew what would happen afterward but in that scebe yi seo's life was in danger and if he would have lost her then all his success would have been meaningless as well as his life.. she was only one who actually loved him sincerely and kept him happy and cheerful.. I'm so disappointed that i couldn't see their future life And love life. They are a couple who'll stay in my mind for a long time. Such b'ful story of them. just wanted a little more of them the awkwardness they both shared was so overwhelming also wants to make you see more of their scenes.

d33rama Jul 10 2023 11:02 pm Solid 8.5/10 recommend. This show covers several societal challenges such as transphobia and racism with a lot of care and compassion. I was impressed to see the writers tackle social injustices with courage and love. Park Sae-Ro-Yi is a consistently principled and morally driven protagonist, who pushes head on against all evil doers. Jo Yi-Seo is a more complex character and she has the most to learn and grow. The audience gets to watch the dichotomy of these 2 character arcs as they encounter the villainous treachery of Jang corporation. Good villains (love me a good villain!) and even better good guys. The IC (Itaewon Class) team resembles true comradery and family. The only character I felt was hard to digest was Oh Soo-A--her character development paled in comparison to others, she became insufferable. Kwon Na-Ra's performance was fine, but the character didn't help push the story--most of the time she was a side line ornament (or rather a fly you're trying to swat away). Also, fantastic OST (original soundtrack). Highly recommend this series.

Just finished it, well not the last 10 minutes because Yi-seo annoys me very much. I didn't like that he ended up with that sociopath. I mean he even kneeled down and swallowed his pride for her when he ruined his dad's career because he was too prideful. For a girl who cares about nobody but herself. Her face is annoying, too. He started to act like her in the end. Great show until the last 3 episodes.

Rima Apr 23 2023 1:29 pm Definitely a Masterpiece in every way!!! I totally love the whole drama. A wonderful story, powerful acting of all the cast, beautiful OST, all is just amazing! The lead actor Park Seo Joon, wow: great looks and what an actor! Kim Da Mi also wow, strong performance. But overall ALL the cast was brilliant. For sure i will watch this drama again!

Liz C Feb 28 2023 6:00 am I watched this as I liked the male lead, having just seen What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim. I normally like softer dramas, not keen on violence but really enjoyed this. The story was good, it was sad in many parts, it was good to see that goodness and honesty prospers over greed and bullying. Hope to see more of both Park Seo-Joon and Kim Da-Mi. What I love about KDramas is the wonderful naturalness of the acting. I wonder if all Korean men get emotional and cry, nice to see a soft side to their nature.

Every actor was fantastic, the writing, directing, set & costume design, music, Everything was excellent. So much talent in South Korea. Even the subtitles were usually readable, which is hardly ever the case. For those who criticized this series, I’d be interested to know just what dramas they do like. Park Seo-jun is always incredible. I’ve seen Yoo Jae-myung in so many parts, he can be so likable & then in this, so believable as the stereotypical evil chairman. Every actor was impressive. Definitely a 10/10!

Was bored out and at a much earlier time than I’d expected. Maybe I just need to hang on till the interesting parts. Then again, will it ever happen?

KGuileyC Sep 20 2022 8:04 am Where do I start? I started this show originally because Park Seo Joon is the ML. I couldn’t get into it so stopped. After some time I read reviews and the positive feedback brought me back to it. The entire cast is amazing. The antagonists and protagonists are equally brilliant actors/actresses. The diverse cast and a huge cast at that was awesome. Never have I watched a K-Drama where the storyline displayed such growth in the characters. This 16 episode drama made me feel as I was with these characters over a 25 year period. I cannot recommend this drama enough. Definitely in my Too 5! And-again-Park Seo Joon is in it!!♥️

Personalities worked and different from each other A realistic side even in the appearance of the actors. A weakness of the story from episode 13 marks a break, but which makes up in extremis during the last episode. Well, it's not with what we are shown of the restaurant that he might have succeeded in Itaewon, minimalist decoration, and a cook who does not know how to cook. For someone who took 7 years to develop his project, well, it's a little too much, but it's not very annoying, the daily management of the restaurant being in the background. The success will be there; even if as a character says: it is only a small bar without interest... The interest of the story is elsewhere.

EMOTION: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ _ A beautiful palette, from resentment to appeasement.

OST: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very good and accompanies the image perfectly.

ATTRACTION: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A duel of looks of delightful tension. Kim Da Mi is in an admirable sociopathic role that brings a lot to the table. An unusual romance. The neighborhoods of Seoul are well highlighted. Well-written characters.

Her apartment is located on the back of the first shop of dam bam, On my second last day in sokor, I saw sae royi and the janga ceo filming the scene in episode 4 but I have no idea who they were back then T_T if I only knew Park seo joon is involve I would have extended my stay in itaewon until I saw him. Honestly when Itaewoon Class aired in netflix I didn't like the show because there are some factors I do not understand. So glad I rewatched it on a different persfective.

1. Putting Up a Business and stock Market (growing money from zero to billions) 2. Kim dami persistence of choosing to bet on something (building her own company) rather than what her mom wants or tradionally believe (study, work on big firms be sucessful) 3. The consistency- whether in life of love if we keep on working on our goals ( saeroyi - revenge) or (kim dami - sucess) well definitely be there someday!

p.s. I skipped a lot with the kidnapping part I think it was out of context. Oveall one of the best drama out there!

Ciepao Jun 24 2022 9:54 am I was really excited to watch this drama since it was so hyped when it came out and this is the 2nd drama that I will watch from 2020 (I have a long list of Asian dramas to watch, so it would take me 2 years before I watch a drama that was released in its year) but sad to say, it didn't meet my expectations.

I love Kim Dami, but I just can't bear to watch it 'faithfully'. I've tried to not skip a lot of scenes, but I got so bored. On the first few episodes, I already got lost interest, but because of Kim Dami, I tried until episode 11, after that I start skipping scenes.

I love how they show the sensitive topics that SoKor has, but I find it lacking. It's like they are forcing to put it in the story. I don't have a problem on their acting, or OST, I think the problem is just the flow of the story.

In my opinion, this drama won't be so hyped if Park Seojun wasn't in it.

I'll give it a 6/10. Out of all Seojun's drama, this is the weakest for me.

The only thing I truly enjoyed was the theme song, and the addition of someone from a different race group...It's about time. 5/10

Amazing and talented crew tbh didnt expect the series was this good, even though i think the last 3 episodes were average.

Tdlr (SPOILER ALERT)

-the first 13 episodes were super well done, they used a cliche thing in something kinda special in my opinion. -i didnt like the last 3 episodes because the kidnapping was a bit forced and rushed, im not a fan of the Sae-Ro-Yi and Yi-Seo end up together, in some episodes i thought it was a good idea but the lack of chem between of the 2 and giving the viewers a super expectation irl romances ( you cant be cringe and annoying for so many years and chasing your crush like she did and hurting yourself and your pride in that process , its not realistic and yes i know she had a twisted mind (79% of being a psyco). -i would love to see Saeroyi and SooA as a couple since the episode 11 or 12. -didnt like the cameo of Park BoGum just because SooA suffered for 15 years waiting and being afraid and loving Saeroyi that much and in just a fews weeks puff -the last conversation/goodbye between SooA and Saeroyi was via phone was a bad idea imo.

The most heroic character was SooA and this is why:

The moment I watched the first episode, I got a really bittersweet feeling already... The filter made everything so ordinary and happy, and I immediately got second lead feel from SooAh... I totally get her standpoint of taking care of herself first and being independent (something Saeroyi kept on telling her throughout the years)as she was an orphan, but I wouldn't say that she was just selfish. Well yes, she is selfish, but who isn't? Saeroyi was selfish for focusing on his revenge rather than on SooAh and told her to wait for him until he brings JangGa down so she could be free (I don't blame him though, he couldn't be happy until he did that), and YiSeo was selfish for relentlessly chasing Saeroyi and even hurting those around him because she didn't want him alone to suffer (though it is true it's because she cared so much and stayed directly by his side that she won his heart). Everyone was selfish, Saeroyi and YiSeo were just more heroic/romantic in their selfishness, and SooAh was just realistic in her selfishness. Moreover, her joining JangGa was purely to bring them down with a big blow despite the fact that as a whistleblower she would have trouble finding another job and would lose the now-only stable thing in her life. She loved Mr. Park just as much as Saeroyi, and repaid him in her own, independent, way. I feel so bad that SooAh, after suffering so much from losing her fatherly like figure, waiting for Saeroyi for so long, enduring everything Chairman Jang forced her to do to Saeroyi, giving advice and being so caring for her rival YiSeo, is now not only abandoned by Saeroyi who broke his promise, but is also being bashed by so many people who don't understand her (thought people are quite split on the two female leads). I hate it more that people are praising YiSeo despite so many of her wrongdoings (don't get me wrong I love her too). I totally get why YiSeo and Saeroyi are together and I don't think that will change without changing a major part of the plot (that's just how the drama/comic is written and how the story goes), but I felt more chemistry and longing between SooAh and Saeroyi in their scenes, and SooAh definitely loved him as well (though she couldn't date him because she had to keep this revenge thing at JangGa a secret from Chairman Jang-even though I don't get why she couldn't have just told Saeroyi about her plan though I guess she's just very independent idk). Overall though, this is a drama about acceptance, about getting through hardships, and every single one of the characters were written so well that you could feel their pain and hardships, understand their perspectives and how they came to be who they are. Let's just hope they are all living happy and well in their world.

8.5/10 could be easly 9.5 with a dif final in my humble opinion , the Instrumental OST is brilliant.

The idea of a character who would rather accept punishment than conveniently bend his principles is just so appealing. And then, through sheer determination and dogged persistence, he succeeds in overcoming one obstacle after another, finally attaining his goal. Moreover, he is sufficiently open-minded to accept advice from suitably qualified people even when they’re much younger than him. The acting is first class, Kim Da-Mi is very convincing in a difficult role. I find it hard to forgive her for interrupting Keon Na-Ra on “legal” grounds as she’s about to kiss Park Seo-Joon, especially when she’s stolen a kiss previously when he’s unconscious and unable to consent. Still this is one “hellova” show and is a must-watch for all fans of Korean drama. I give it 10/10.

More and more Mar 04 2022 10:24 am The story telling was good most specially on the first half. But just like the other comments, i didn't like the kidnapping part. Felt like it wasn't supposed happen or they could have done better. But anyway kim da mi's (yi seo) character gave so much color to this show. I'm getting addicted with her high caliber acting skills. I also love the fact that the story shows versatility on kdrama since it tackles many social issues, which makes it unique, relatable and fun to watch.

Kristi Feb 21 2022 4:40 am I read 3 types of reviews regarding this series: 1, it is nothing special, the topic itself was chewed over several times and with a better staff 2, it is simply great 3, it is great until episode 12, then it has a disappointing ending I for myself have to join the first group. The first two episodes were rather boring. Really, nothing happened, that I haven't seen before. I started to watch the third episode and I had to realize that I don't like the characters. Even the main character, the good guy, I found irritating. Not to mention the idiotic haircut he was doomed to have. In kdramas I've seen so far there was so much crying. In the two episodes I watched there were some scenes where crying was required. But the 'good guy' didn't seem to be able to cry. He made a 'I am about to cry' face but without any tears. The bad guy looked a lot more better but his character was rotten, so for me this series had no appeal. I didn't even like the soundtrack which was praised by many other viewers. maybe it can be heard in later episodes, I don't know

When you reach in the middle of episodes, it's kinda boring, but don't worry! Jang Da-hee is not supposedly makes the viewer support him, because he's too pitiful in act which makes my revenge urge to Jangga didn't disapper completely and turned out a mercy feeling for him. So Saeroyi couldn't crush him in hardest way possible, but he did it very smooth, it's what it is. Plus the company accomplishment didn't show that much at the end, like showing if Itaewon Class is now on top or not by news, etc. But I do like that version of ending that focus on relationship. so far 9/10!

This is the first drama I thought did not need a “love line”. Saeroyi and Yiseo had Zero Zero Zero Chemistry. He literally treated her like a sister throughout the whole drama. Sooah was also a bitch to Saeroyi. He should’ve stayed single. I watched this so long ago but my mom started watching it now and it just sparked my annoyance for it all over again.

An amazing story full of twists, revenge, romance, emotions, all ingredients to be a master story! A great performance of all the cast, strong, perfect, flawless, a big bravo to all of actors and actresses! But the leads Park Seo Joon and Kim Da Mi, both stunning acting! Never disappointed with Park Seo Joon, a great skilled and talented actor with a great charisma! He is totally in my top 10 of fav korean actors! A huge fan from Belgium ??! Highly recommend to watch this drama and ignore all the negativity written here. It is just outstanding and definitely on my list to see it a second time!

The story of an aspiring businessman with a dark memory of his past. The story is something different from your usual kdrama.This series is really mmotivational to the audience. I really enjoy watching this series. Apart from the story the acting was really superb. Actually I watched this series because of Park seo joon. I started watching this to celebrate his birthday! LOL!!! Anyway his acting was superb and this was my first yime watching kim da mi in a drama.I think she acts good but have no chemistry with park seo joon Even the second lead Keon nara too have no chemistry with Park seo joon.The other actors too have acted really good.Specially yoo jae mayung the actor who act as the cruel Jang da hee the owner of the janga group act superbly. Anyway this drama is something admirable. Do not miss this drama if you are into youth and revenge dramas. Hope you joo enjoy !!!

She just doesn't have a goal to do despite being multitalented. She lack emotional empathy which is actually gives peace of heart as a human being.

He should have ended up with the other chick if he had to choose one. The story has promise though some parts are glossed over, but it is a lot more interesting than the love triangle, that is just boring. Some good character acting and seniors.

Zoeie Aug 04 2021 6:18 pm 5 or 6/10. kim dami is a great actress but i really don’t like her character. she’s good at what she does but she shouldn’t use her sociopathy as an excuse to be rude. she told toni that he’s not korean after he made himself clear that he’s half korean and never made him feel better. she asked really personal questions to hyunyi when they saw her at the club. she harassed saeroyi when he clearly tells her to stop hitting on him. if the genders were switched there'd be people calling yiseo out. i also wish there’d be internal dialogue within saeroyi’s mind that shows that he’d liked yiseo all this time to go out with her, because i got so confused as to why saeroyi suddenly wanted to date her in the end. i loved sooah because she wasn’t like that. she had more chemistry with saeroyi and was even more of a decent person than yiseo. the timeskip and the kidnapping felt rushed because i know they were trying to fit the 16 episode limit, but they could’ve done something else to make it seem less rushed. they put all the danbam employees to the side and basically forgot about them after the timeskip. they barely did anything afterwards. also, i hated hyunyi’s hair after the skip. it looked flat and i feel like they could’ve picked a better wig to make it look natural on her.

I like that Jang Dae Hee isn't completely a hateful man. It's true that he's self centered, but he's a respectable businessman. However, I'm not really into Jo Isoo character. I think she's overrated. I like that she's really intelligent and straightforward, but sometimes she's just overrated. I mean, being an amateur, she can turn over a business in a short time is a little too much. Not to mention when they work with Ms Kang. The older lady has been in the business for way longer than Isoo, yet the writer makes her less knowledgeable than Isoo. That doesn't make sense. Also, Jangga is well known for their food. Yet they make Jangga's chef lost in every battle to a beginner chef from Danbam. How? Despite all that, it's a worth watching drama.

YANG BEE Jul 20 2021 9:20 pm Okay. I waited for a year and decided to watch it around February or March of 2021 I think (for 3-4 episodes?) and I just resumed watching it now in mid-July 2021. I know I should be watching it continuously so I could get the story and everything after reading its "reviews"... well to me it was okay, Not so great story. I think each episode and character was compressed or rushed to fit the 16 episodes. And I think it would still work even without the "love story." Also, I had to skip scenes especially in the last 5 episodes. Everyone involved are appreciated still because of the hard work they input in making this.

Dramas in 2016 and 2019 are still superior --- to me ?

Don’t expect someone to wait for you after you take them for granted. While YS supported him despite getting rejected and SRY already fell in love with her while he didn’t notice it. Another marvellous performance by Yoo Jae Myung, you were amazing in Stranger and IC. Kudos to all writers and producers for this wonderful show and high ratings!!

It.to.take revenge from his oppressors the schoolmate who is a bully bec. He is the typical son of a Rich Conglomerate man. It tackled about how strong determi he has...he wanted to reach the top by slowly attacking the giant company who jailed him for his.pride not apologizing to the bully who blind his friend. His dad died and that triggered him his sweet revenge but with a big dream. It showed 2 more interesting topics one is Transgender and racism . I can't wait to start ep. 13 and up to the Finale. Wonder if he will end up with Koen Nara here ?!?! Its too slow with their relarions as the young one who has strong determination to have a relationship with him is too aggressive with PSJ hahaha ?!?!

Just like "My Mister" (나의 아저씨), focusing on the real life problem, morals, and characters development. To be honest I watch this drama because I wanted to know how the character run a business and investment together. A little bit dissapointed. But again, it's just like typical Korean Drama.

Jan Mar 11 2021 7:17 am I was a little discouraged to watch this drama at first because of the differences in opinions people had about this show. So when I finally decided to start it after contemplating it for so long I didn't expect much. I expected to be disappointed, but oh how I was wrong. This drama was by far one of my fav dramas of all time and I've been watching kdramas for around 8 years now.

I will say though that it can either be a hit or a miss since the plot and the romance is more on the complex side. I think the complexity was the reason for all the different opinions. There's so many things people can either like or dislike based on their preferences. However, this drama has everything you'd never expect to see in a kdrama from breaking stereotypes, tackling racism and challenging transphobia. The romance was perfect for me too since they didn't overdo it and it wasn't crazy unrealistic.

Okay wow I'm ranting, but now onto one of the most controversial topics about this show, the ending. A complex show like this one that includes a lot of content is definitely difficult to wrap up perfectly (I saw a bunch of comments about plot holes or things that didn't make sense) but I think they did a good job of overall giving an ending that left me very satisfied (maybe a little too much because I was crying nonstop through the final episode ;') Some say the ending is too rushed, like the romance for example, but I think it suits the characters and it's a nice contrast to the slow buildup throughout the kdrama.

Anyways if you're debating watching this, I highly recommend it. Everyone's experience with this show is different and I hope you enjoy it :)

SPOILER ALERT (What'd you expect, it's the comment section of the drama)

I for one loved the fact that PSRY and JYS ended up together instead of them ending up with OSA or JGS. The romantic affection JYS had for PSRY coupled with her strangely ruthless behavior makes it a wonderful contradiction and made her such a coool-lovable-cute-badass character. So, I for one, loveeeeed the ending hewhew

Of course, Itaewon Class is not a perfect drama. One of the two major conflicts were a little downplayed or rushed (I think) and I do find PSRY sudden change of heart a bit odd but cmon, the girl has been hitting on him & courting him for 4 years (?) maybe, idk. Unlike OSA who was talking everything for granted while thinking, waiting is equivalent to actual effort. Lastly, mmmm the chemistry. Honestly the chemistry was cute a not cringey especially if you take the fact that JYS had only entered adulthood (20 yo) at that time and is diagnosed with a hint psychopathy (I think, idk) The chemistry was cute because she was appropriately childish and he was properly the reliable 'adult' (idk if I'm making sense)

It's not your typical chemistry at first since one was in love while the other is not, you'll understand once you watch it. Really. The chemistry only became typical KDrama stuff at the last episode.

It was very disappointing when relationship between Sae Ro Yi and Yi Seo suddenly turned into "romance", when he rejected her so many times before. They really did not have to do that. For most of the time, I also didn't really like Soo A, but when Sae Ro Yi basically dumped her and went like: Oh wait, I actually like Yi Seo, after she waited 15 years for him, I felt kinda bad for her. On top of all of that, Park Seo Joon is an amazing actor. I think I would believe him anything. He is really an icon and I can't imagine anyone better for Sae Ro Yi's role.

I personally enjoyed this show even though yes, it does have some flaws! Every show has its flaws. It takes a while to understand the characters, so I understand why so many people are frustrated. The characters are complicated. They have complicated personalities and people are going to be pissed (many people are) because they're not acting the way we expect and want them to.

If you're going to watch this show, you need to be open-minded. In my opinion, it's an amazing kdrama with a beautifully executed storyline. The first episode alone made me cry. There are very heavy themes, real-life lessons, and inspiring monologues. I have never rooted so hard for a main lead until now. Sure, the romance was not needed for progression, but I didn't really pay attention to it anyway. I enjoyed the main storyline of how our lead grew, persevered, and fought back while sticking to his beliefs.

According to the story, Yi-Seo is very beautiful because she's a net idol but I really do not see this in her.

This show is a satire criticism of society & capitalism. It denounces current issues and taboos such as; social injustice, inequality, competition, racism, ex-convicts, stigma and prejudice, white collar crimes, etc. Its a realistic, down to earth serie that shows the struggles of youth escalating the social ladder. Though the serious theme, it is pleasant and comic to watch. Very touching & inspiring. Solid plot, strong dialogue, great acting and chemistry, and beautiful soundtrack. Highly recommended❤

Great acting, strong emotions and plot twists. I was greatly amazed by Jo I Seo`s character - clever, hardworking, highly intelligent, bright and honest. This was a fresh air for months to see. I was bored by the time gaps, clishes in the plot, dragged scenes, especially in last three epp - I had to skip scenes. Not Bad Drama - but far behind the best. Sorry. 2016 and 2019 were great, 2020 is dissappointing so far.

I love happy endings with a spattering of romance. Chemistry is crucial to make a relationship believable. Unfortunately, I don’t see it here. Good actors, yes, but romance? She know no one can save her anymore after Saeroyi confess his feeling to Yiseo, thats why she doing that (doesnt want to give spoiler here hehe). The others have their own business... so does she... and she is not depending anymore to the promise. Really heroine! And i love how mature and realistic her character lol but yeah, she is a poor girl... she doesnt have anyone, even the man that she encourage for a long time reject her... but why so sad? self love is more important :)

It doesn't have usual korean cliche scenes like a sudden accidental kiss and generally speaking it's focus is not on romance, although I wish they would have worked more on the romance because at the end I felt like what the lead character had for the heroine was that he felt like he owe her not love. Another negative point about its ending was that it ended up all so good, I love happy endings and for sure IC group deserved it but i think it was kinda unreal that Everything turned out to be so good. Overall This drama was really inspiring and its positive points were way much more than its negatives. I absolutely loved it. Thanks.

They're fine enough as colleagues and should've focused on resolving issues as 'colleagues'. It's unconvincing to watch them driven to fight together just because there's something going on with them and their feelings. They have something in common but as lovers, they're totally not there yet. It's kind of forced. Perhaps a second season will do introducing their personal/romantic interests.

Da hell, it even only starts at the last 10 minutes, because love played a big role in characters life, but not romance itself. And Sae Ro Yi stayed with person who was always next to him and his heart naturally gravitated towards her. Letting go a hand of a bystander of crime and your bullying which Oh Soo Ah was is not breaking your principles, but simply moving forward from a toxic relationship where someone uses you as “sure thing”. But as I said Itaewon Class writer thought to much about “romance hungry” some drama watchers that only care about “romance” and focuses only on “ships and pairing” when the main theme of the drama was far from any pairs. It’s a deep work about society and misfits. You can don’t like Yi Seo and Sae Ro Yi together, but should never be your main determination or point in giving a score to this incredible and ahed of it’s time peace of work in South Korean dramaland.

DP Aug 09 2020 11:51 am The storyline could've been better if Park Saeroyi did not end up with any of the female lead. His role does not actually commit to anyone but his goals. The romance was just so unnecessary and half-baked that I didn't find any chemistry between them. It fails to deliver if the intention of the writers is to achieve a late romance. Geun-Soo deserves Yi-Seo even more if you'll look into the romantic side of the story. He's more deeply in love than SaeRoYi.

Also, the entire kidnapping scene is a crap. I just couldn't take it seriously. It's overdramatically dumb with so much unnecessary talkings. Almost half an hour has been wasted in the last episode just for that meh.

Character-wise, although, they've done equally great individually, the old chairman is just a standout for me. Despite his bad deeds, I still see the good side in him knowing what he has been through in his childhood years. I felt a little empathy.

I really like Park Joon Seo's acting that is persistent and doesn't give up, Kim Dami who is always beside Park Seo Joon of Zero and wants to help him to success. at first I thought Kwon Nara was evil, apparently in the last episode he gave a bomb to Jangga to repay the kindness of PSJ's father who had died. I like the scene where Dami closes Nara's mouth when she wants to kiss PSJ ? Finally, I really like the song from this drama, Diamond and Defense. for those who haven't watched it. this drama is very recommended

I like their characters individually, like I like how You Seo is independent and far from the usual candy girl Kdramas are obsessed with. I like Saeroyi's principled nature, it gives me a tadbit of Ned Stark vibes but Yi Seo and Saeroyi together is a no for me. Soo Ah wasn't a better option either but I like her go-getter mentality. This drama should have just stuck to the come up story for Saeroyi as he outgrew his first love Soo Ah and gently let down Yi Seo. The lead romance storyline was such a turn off to such a beautiful rags to riches storyline that addressed pertinent issues in S. Korea. I can't stress how much I'm put off by this pairing, I was literally binge watching until I got to episode 10, now I don't have the strength to finish it off because of this darn pairing. Argh

Nothing make sense In this serie. The plot is actually great but the production is like it was on a tight budget !! And the romance ? Hell no !! The girl is too unlikable !! No chemistry between the two at all . I loved the first episode tho . But after the half way though the serie I just wanted to give up so bad . But because I didn’t want to let the whole day of binge watching the first half go to waste , I had to finish it . One thing went to waste for me was Park Seo Joon ‘s capability’s. Sociopathy is often made by the environment, in yiseo's case, it might be because her mother always wanted her to be the best and achive her goals no matter what because she used to live a miserable life, yiseo's mother also often forced her past trauma to yiseo, saying love is useless and she shouldn't love anyone because it might ruin her life. So rather than hate, i think we should feel sympathy for her. Living with antisocial disorder is not easy, she isn't being mean for fun. Also i think the message this drama is trying to pass is not "people shouldn't be like yiseo because she is a terrible and nasty character", because despite her antisocial disorder, she has many good traits, she is hardworking, patient, and want to learn from her mistakes. I agree with the comment below that says "only characterizing yiseo's character as mean just comes off as shallow". Yiseo's presence isn't just to shows bad examples that people shouldn't follow, but it is to remind us that we are not all the same, so we shouldn't easily judge someone as bad or nasty because there might be a reason why they act that way, yiseo's character also shows us that people can change and learn from their mistakes, if only there is someone who is kind enough to guide them.

I don't understand the ridiculous amount of hate for yi seo though, she is a sociopath, and sociopath is supposed to act that way because they lack empathy and don't have the ability to stand in others' shoes. Being a sociopath is not her choice, it is a personality disorder, so i really don't understand the hate at all.

Some might say it's because she was young etc but no.. She was just pure self centered, selfish and egoistic.. A true sociopath.. Her character was really unnecessarily self centered.. I just kept forwarding her scenes.. Despite the fact that she appeared almost always.. She turned her friend who liked her into something very terrible, she took advantage of his feelings and did not care about his feelings either.. I hope the message they were trying to pass was that people should not be like her cus she had a very terrible and nasty character.. I was feeling a lil ish cus I wanted Park Saeroyi to end up with his 15 years lover. But the Park Bo Gum's cameo almost at the end of ep 16 made my day.. I just kept grinning at my screen. Thank God he was there actually he just calmed me down after all the buts and buts about Yi Seo.. It was a nice movie.. I highly recommend it..

If you are just craving or looking for PSJ's kissing scenes/romance scenes "since he is a good kisser" hahaha then this drama is not for you!!!!..Sorry!! But if you are looking for a good start I mean if you want to be inspired with your life or career where you are right now, I recommend that you give it a try.

All the characters portrayal was very good, there is no boring characters here they have their own importance and worth like you, like us it's realistic as they portrays the people in this world have flaws and differences but all is have their own importance. This is all about hardships in life on how to achieve your goal though it's root is about revenge.

Saeroyi's character will teach us to never play dirty in order to achieve your goal, keep a good heart and never give up, be motivated in-spite of all the hardships you have.

I love Yiseo and Soo ah's character, they were not like the other leading ladies of the koreandrama who is sometimes need someone to lean on for their characters to shine.. hahaha Im really sorry I don't know how to elaborate more or to explain my opinion. Don't misunderstand me I love korean leading ladies characters most especially all Ye-jin character portrayals "my favorite ever since" , it's just that Yiseo's character was unique and I ended up having crush on her than Saeroyi (PSJ). :-D

Anyway all the main characters here leaves a good impressions to me, no matter how bad or how great their characters are, it all works out together for this drama having worth it to watch for.

Anyone who hates Yiseo, Soo ah and villain characters here that's why they decided not to pursue watching this drama or just dissapointed and hate that Saeroyi and Yiseo ended up together happily or simply hate this drama was a real Psychopath "no sympathy and emphathy"

Linkin May 24 2020 10:56 am I literally could not tear my eyes away from this drama and was done in a day. I loved the unbending will of the main lead and I absolutely loved the Yi Seo's character. She has so many haters out there (well deserved too) because she was not your cup of tea. I love that the writer put her, a character who was so much like the main antagonist, right next to our protagonist. There were times when she may as well have been the devil promising him the world. I loved the chemistry of the two and how they each grew together. It was refreshing. I would have been utterly bored had the main lead ended up with Soo-A. Yi Seo definitely deserved that victory, hands down. And again, did I mention I loved our main lead? I could go on and on but I'll stop here.

I so much love kissing scenes in Korean movies I was so anxious when park will kiss someone but then I found it so special , from the start I was so convinced Soo ah and park will end up together then yi seo comes into the picture , she's mean and straight forward and also younger than Park but I realized she proved her love and it impressed me where as Soo ah was more focused with the fact that Park likes her..i found it sooooo annoying I will say she really didn't deserve him. This movie is really good is contains modern issues parental care,business, leadership, transgender, age Gap in relationships above all it's inspiring. I'm also fan with the happy ending where the only kissing scenes are centered. ????????????

I don't understand how can people blame PSRY for loving another female lead when Soo Ah has done nothing for their relationship. Also not to forget that Soo Ah considered calling the police on PSRY. Even when she didn't but the thought still counts. She also say in EP 8 that she doesn't feel like helping PSRY so she gave Yi Seo advice on how to be closer to PSRY so PSRY can succeed and she can quit her job. And how can people call the thing she did in EP 16 heroic, when she only did that after PSRY was dying and CEO Jang called her easy to tamed? If she really had the intention to help PSRY, she could've done that earlier rather than wait until her bestfriend dying in hospital bed. Also her and PSRY's relationship is like married couple who are already tired with their relationship so none of them tried to do anything.

It hooked me from the very first episode and of course, I watch this mostly because of Park Seo Joon, haha. But all of the actors are amazing too. Alas, this is the first K-drama which the female lead I kinda dislike (sorry Kim Da-mi, you played Yi Seo well but I just dislike the character). This drama would be perfect if Park Sae ro yi could be with Soo Ah.

People who don't like or think there's chemistry between Park Seo-Joon and Kim Da-mi were obviously rooting Kwon Na-ra's character. I highly recommend this drama.

They could have show some development in their romance. Their tandem is just too forced. It started great but the last episodes well I think reached the peak of boredom.

On Netflix it starts at 57.48 to the end. If you don't watch the rest of this series, just watch that one scene for fabulous acting and dialogue. It's scenes like that which make me love k-drama.

Shane Apr 25 2020 8:02 am Every character represents someone in the society. I love Yiseo's character, the one that represents people with mental conditions. Someone who seems unrealistic because she is so hard to understand. The problem is that some don't think that people like her exist in real life. But there are people like her. She lacks sympathy and empathy because she operates based on reasons not feelings (incapable), but managed to somehow improve because she developed feelings for Saeroyi. Even so, her feelings for Saeroyi has some sort of exclusivity that she'll do anything for the apple of her eyes. That's what people with minds like her do. She is not normal. Her thoughts about dying, about the world exploding (while dancing at the bar)...I know some people with mental conditions will relate, while normal people will just think she is childish and selfish, and will not consider that she is "different".

In first episode, it was necessary to attach to characters I guess, but in the last one - I don't think it should've been 1 hr 30 minutes. I've watched last episode of Crash Landing On You that was almost 2 hours with great pleasure, and here it felt a little bit longing. Itself show lacks dynamics a bit. When the fightings occure in the last episode, it was slow and I didn't felt any danger. Sometimes there's too much of dialogue and not enough movement.

Now for the positives: Characters of the drama are quite exceptional (I haven't seen such characters in any kdrama before), although Yi-Seo could've been a bit kinder in some parts. Still, she reedemed her negative personality. Transformation of characters like Seung-Kwon, Geun-Soo and Hyun-Yi was something great. Really loved their roles. Oh Soo-A was annoying at times, but overall had a pretty interesting and deep character development.

Directing is great, and itself the story and the way characters deal with problems is very inspiring. Despite too much pathos in some scenes, the drama felt very strong, and the problems of reaching success, revenge, pride and all was very interesting to explore.

Actors are great, Park Seo-Joon acting was stunning. You've felt his struggle all along, the way he was trying to hold himself not to loose his temper. Amazing.

Not even mentioning Jang family chemistry. The way Jang Geun-Won became worse and worse is really sad, and all I felt for the character is compassion.

Overall, amazing drama, 8.5/10. Definitely recommend to watch!

Was kinda sad though at the end, feel somehow Soo-A and Sae-Ro-Yi seemed to fit together more naturally (also I was looking forward to the end shots of them as a happy couple with little kids:)). And sweet Geun-Soo & Yi-Seo could have made a cute couple

Then towards the middle, something there was lost. The plot became unrealistic, smelly, and sometimes even boring. The big problem with the drama in my opinion is the main couple. I couldn't identify romantic chemistry between sae ro-yi and yi-seo (Unfortunately I didn't like her character at all,Too much spoiled and childish), they look more like a brother and a little sister to me. it would have been better if they didn't become a couple, it would have been more reliable to me. With all my love for romance in dramas, not every drama has to try to push some romance in the plot, sometimes it's just Unnecessary. anyways, Park Seo Joon made an excellent job with his Character, as well as yoo jae-myung who was a great "evil" character! In conclusion, the drama had a Large patonial that not properly realized for my opinion.

I'm pleased I did that coz then I could binge-watch the episodes - and I did.

Loved the show - loved the depth of the characters.

Yoo Jae-Myung was brilliant in this show. I have seen him play various characters - this one was a character I loved the hate - but unlike Saeroyi, I actually felt sorry for him in the final episode - despite loathing him at the end of epi 15!!! He said he didn't want his family to starve but in the end, turned his back on both of his sons. Just shows that it's true: power corrupts - absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Saeroyi didn't change the whole way through the show - not sure if it was just me but I got the feeling he was high functioning autistic, from his behaviour. He wasn't your typical romantic first lead, can't say I ended up feeling 'love' for him, but I did love Park Seo Joon's portrayal.

Kim Da Mi's character came across with sociopathic tendencies - a complex character who was hard to like, but so to was Kwon Na Ra's character.

I loved the show for the storyline and the characters, though none left me feeling 'heartwarmed' - as they all had flaws - as normal people do. I could see this story having a heavy 'based on fact' vibe.

Kudos to all the actors and actresses! You all performed brilliantly!

The balance of various themes from romance, friendship, family while tackling different issues such as capitalism, race and gender - I must say is perfect. I also love how they dealt with these issues - though they not fully offer complete solutions to these social structures, the right amount of attention and reaction is given to destroy common notions and myths. The main leads gave so much justification to their seemingly complicated characters. Saeroyi is an epitome of an idealist with unbending conviction yet lacking in some ways while yi seo is that unique, very-capable and bitchy realist who filled what's lacking with saeroyi. Romance and luck played their roles to let these two meet.

Same thing with the startup of DanBam and IC Co. Sooah knew Saeroyi's ambition but she actually doesn't believe him can do like that. It's Yiseo that believe him and do the best. If Sooah doesn't become a whistleblower, Saeroyi can still manage to take over Jangga just it will be much more longer story.

Yiseo develop Saeroyi's career into multinational company. Yiseo also aims to kill the person that hurts Saeroyi (psychopath nature). But Sooah does not consider future about her and Saeroyi while Yiseo have a definite future with Saeroyi although Saeroyi may not choose her as a life partner.

The last eps should focus on the past and how much Saeroyi involved with Yiseo, in his sad days, happy days, failure time etc. It will show better viewership of the story and people will definitely ship for ILL.

How can anyone in their right mind who knows and understand the meaning of a good movie hate or think Itaewon Class is boring? How? This is one of the most inspiring Korean drama I’ve ever watched. A good movie or series is beyond love story. Try opening your mind to see beyond love story.

This is a beautiful story of how a very young guy who would have destroyed his life by blaming others for his misfortune, rose from nothing to a global businessman.

Mark my words, this drama will inspire generations to come!

In the end I disliked Saeroyi. I appreciated and enjoyed Sooah's character the most. Sooah is an orphan who built herself up on her own because she disliked being indebted to anyone. She worked part-time in high school, studied hard to get into her preferred university, and ended up working at Jangga company. She focused on supporting herself financially. She worked for Jangga for over a decade, knowing it would hurt Saeroyi, her long-time friend and crush. BUT she couldn't quit. It was her only financial support, and she built herself up in the company. In the end, it took her courage to quit her job at Jangga and become a whistleblower. She took down Jangga company - not Saeroyi. Being a whistleblower meant no one will hire her in the future. Sooah still did this knowing she'd lose her financial stability in the end. Sooah is a smart, strong and mature woman. I really respect her as a character. Also I'm glad Saeroyi didn't end up with Sooah. Sooah deserves so much better. Saeroyi chose to like Sooah for a decade, specifically told Sooah to define their relationship when she was ready, promised Sooah to wait for him to take down Jangga so they could be happy. Saeroyi broke his promise AND Sooah did what Saeroyi was meant to do - bring down Jangga. Team Sooah and only Sooah. Also I disliked Yiseo's character, she was manipulative and toxic. I can't forgive her behaviour. We should never romanticise toxic and manipulative behavior. I'm happy Minjung and Byungheon got together! The only best ship!

Royi might be the best man when it comes on protecting the people that he cares about, he’s an awesome character to root for but when it comes to love, he definitely sucks. Many people blame Soo Ah’s inaction to Royi’s confession, but why is she the only one to blame? Yes, Royi confessed to her but did he really put action to it? Absolutely NO. He just made the woman he likes take responsibility to their vague relationship by saying she can put their relationship anything that suits her. Like boy, you’re the one who confessed first, and she told you not to but you still kept on saying that you will always like her. Royi’s the one who first came to her, he made her promises and asked her to wait. Did people really took Soo ah’s “I don’t like poor guys” seriously?Was her delivery that vain and desperate? For me, it isn’t. It’s like telling him that she’ll wait. She kept her promises but he never did. Don’t just blame only Soo Ah for their unresolved relationship because Royi did nothing too. Confessing is one thing and taking action is another.

People applauding YiSeo for how persistent she is to her love for Royi forgot that both her and Soo Ah have a very different circumstances. Yi Seo can easily throw away her bright future because she never knew what it’s like to have nothing, unlike Soo Ah who needs to work her ass off just to get where she is because in the first place she never knew she could have a future. Soo Ah has more to lose and no one to lean on. Soo Ah is strong and mature. She’s an epitome of success.

Nalimo Apr 11 2020 3:29 pm Ahh I started this drama because of Kim Taehyung and I really liked it. I loved both sooah and yiseo, they were both beautiful and strong. I also liked the relationships between characters, characters were well written. I loved how dad-son relationship is explained between different families. Watching it was fun and exciting and refreshing, I usually don't care about male leads in the dramas, but park saeroyi's story got me hooked, romance wasn't the big theme in the drama but it was there and it's hard for dramas to balance this, they either leave out romance or glorify it too much, this was a great mix of romance and an interesting story.

She wasted 15 years of her time waiting for park saeroyi and did not go for any blind dates just for him to say that he likes jo yiseo. Sooah was the one who ultimately brought the downfall of jangga by risking of having an image of a whistleblower.

You have to get through each episode to have your questions answered. In the beginning, you're like "wtf? the main character is an idiot" but you understand why he did it. The think about good writing is...it makes you connect with the characters and even if they are evil, you understand why they are doing what they are doing...Itaewon Class was lazy. It didn't explain how they got what they got. They spent way too much time on scenes that were useless and not enough time on scenes that would have made the drama watchable. So I give this drama like a 2 only because the actors were okay...even then they took great actors and made them unlikable.

laoisemei Apr 06 2020 8:43 am do not watch this show if you are looking for a romance story. the romance story is more of a sub plot. the main plot is about humanity, friendship, betrayal and just life in general. i found the show amazingly inspiring especially ep12 with hyun yi. (if u know, u know). i really recommend this show for anyone because it covers a lot of sensitive topics such as trust, betrayal, lgbtq+, justice etc. if you get into it enough, it can really put things in perspective and make u think about life. i loved the show so much

Winter Apr 06 2020 2:17 am i’m not being biased to park seojun. if you are looking for heavy romance, this drama is not it. this drama shows more about humanity, friendship, betrayals, revenge, hatred and motivation. it has romance in it but barely. the reason why most of us watch and find this drama enjoyable because of its messages. most of us obviously know we are not being served with cliche cheesy love plot like psj has always shown in his prev dramas. if you love the feelings of achieving of your dream after those blood sweat and tears, this drama has it. it has energy that would lift your spirit up and i love this drama a lot. its really refreshing and unique since its about battle of food and dream to catch.

so to those who dont find this enjoyable maybe its because you wanted love story from psj and female lead like in his previous dramas. its not bad just bc it doesnt meet your taste. the message in this story isnt about love, thats why.

Not really my kind of storyline, love PSJ here though. Everything is half-hearted, the romance-half hearted, conflict-same. I rather watch a 100%-romance-almost-cringe like CLOY or crime drama with no romance rather than this one. Sorry IC fans, but I'm just not into this.

Aussie_Fan Apr 05 2020 1:38 am Please be warned that this review contains spoilers. My focus in this article is primarily to consider the writing of Kwang Jin -- the webtoon author upon which “Itaewon Class” is based. Kwang also wrote the script for the series.

Kwang Jin has done an exceptional job. I am full of admiration for him. The drama is intelligently written and sequenced with flair between main-story, back-story, side-story and parallel-story. A number of his characters are quirky and they enliven the entertainment. All the main characters come from a position of social weakness. For example: a black Korean who continually has to authenticate his nationality, two sons who are emotional casualties of a ruthless and domineering father, an illegitimate child, an orphan, etc.

I was particularly impressed that Ma Hyun-yi, one of Kwang’s characters was transgender and that Kwang allows her to shine brightly in the sun. This is a major moment in Korean dramas given South Korea’s continuing reluctance to celebrate that, just like skin-colour or eye-colour or height (etc.), gender identity is a characteristic with which one is born and that ‘normal’ is a word that covers many possibilities. The events that culminated in Ma Hyun-yi’s coming-out as transgender on national television were riveting viewing, and the script and Lee Joo-young’s acting were superb. Anyone who watches this scene with a humane mindset will be emotionally touched by seeing what unconditional love looks like between genuine friends who sincerely care for one another and who see deeper that a person’s surface.

Park Seo-jun is one of my favourite actors and, in this role, he shows the depth and breadth of his abilities. As the lead actor, Park Seo-jun creates a Park Sae-ro-yi who is an uncomplicated man and who stays true his friends 100% of the time -- he never blames nor criticises them. This seems like a simple acting task on the face of it but as one follows Park Seo-jun from episode to episode, it is easy to appreciate that in acting Sae-ro-yi, Park Seo-jun has to dig deep. Sae-ro-yi wholeheartedly trusts those around him and he leads the cast when it comes to demonstrating unconditional love. Sae-ro-yi also never hesitates to accept responsibility however heavy that burden will be. Kwang Jin’s life-philosophies that are delivered to the audience via Sae-ro-yi are truly a gift to the world. In Park Sae-ro-yi, Kwang has created a template for what constitutes an immensely decent human being. It would be a wonderful world -- a really wonderful world, in fact -- if there were more people like Sae-ro-yi around.

In addition: the makeup is first class (watch how Jang Dae-hee ages and becomes increasingly ill); the soundtrack is exceptional and deserves special recognition; all actors create believable and authentic characters; the direction and the production are magnificent. I must also make mention of Ahn Bo-hyun’s acting. His performance as Jang Geun-won is incredible. I have never felt so sorry for the bad guy as I did for Geun-won. It is to Kwang’s writing-credit and Ahn’s acting that Geun-won comes to life as such a deeply flawed character with whom the audience can feel angry, sad and sorry. I never stopped hoping that he would see the error of his ways and change.

There is no doubt in my mind at all that any viewer who watches this show will we richly rewarded if they look beyond simple entertainment and straightforward romance. This is a memorable and outstanding drama. I anticipate that many awards will wander its way. I don't normally re-watch shows but I might make an exception for this one.

This is not a typical Korean romantic drama, this is about Park Saeroi vs. Jang Dae Hee. So, the romance is not the priority here. Go find romance drama if you want to see one. For some people who finds the characters disgusting for showing racism or transphobic well I have to say that's the reality. Some people in conservative society are still like that. I think this drama potrays people's imperfections well. After all, they learn to be better persons while growing up. I love this drama!

26 yr old kboo Apr 01 2020 3:50 am I would say that in terms of portrayal through acting performance - saeroyis actor is 8.5/10 (seo joon is strong actor, i can see him go on to give stronger performances in new dramas) - dae hee actor is 10/10 (Great Actor Alert) - yi seo actor 8.5/10 (Strong Performance By New Actor, ) - sooa actor 9.5/10 (love love your acting - seeing actor portray confusion is relatable to audience) - geun won actor is 8.5/10 (character kind of sucks but actor's portrayal of a pathetic personality is pretty good).

Writing wise - saeroyi 8.5/10 (avenge dad, loves people, shows compassion, but can't figure out his feelings, feels guilty for living his life) - dae hee 10/10 - yi seo 8/10 (sociopath who suddenly cares about someone - interesting premise but is kind of weak - thank you da mi for saving this character) - soo a 9/10 (orphan that needs money, hates daehee but feels indebted to him b/c she wants financial freedom, loves saeroyi but feels trapped and helpless) - geun won - 8/10 - character's personality is determined by dae hee's actions, easily manipulated for dae hees own gain, but kind of falls flat b/c we don't see him do actions according to his own free will which would've been much more interesting

I disliked how short of a storyline Hyun yi and tony had. It is a big deal that hyun yi is trans and is not accepted by others; tony is othered as an outsider despite his heritage bc of the color of his skin. Their stories get wrapped up in the end but it's unsatisfactory for me bc itaewon class is about the struggle for freedom, acceptance, and acknowledgement.....
- I understand that multiple long storylines would have been too distracting but it's just missing....
  - Combo of writing and strong performance is so powerful. It’s going to be so hard to watch other dramas….I’ll probably think of this drama for a long time….

The moral of the story is pretty good, the show does open up ideas of interesting things (age gap, transphobia, and racism), and overall showcases interesting growth and relationships between people. There is no amazing love story for Saeyori. One woman is shown to be a manipulator and another is shown to be childish/ obsessive. It also gets hella slow at some point. Some scenes are predictable. blah blah blah

So I understand why people disliked the drama.

The strength this drama has is it's the capability of showing how Saeyori is a strong inspiration to others around him, the development Yiseo has from an ig model to an entrepreneur, and much more.

Buuuut in the end, what you like is ... well what you like

- Once again, if you're expecting romance, don't watch this b/c this is about depth and character development lol)
- I also want to congratulate the actors who portrayed Saeroyi, Yiseo, Dae hee, Geun Won, soo a, saeroyis dad - your facial expressions were perfect)
  - Regardless of my bias, I used context of character's actions and what they reveal through what is spoken - as evidence of character development and relationship w/ others. I use objective evidence to support my opinion of why the drama is good.

For Saeroyi - Kdramas have a sad habit of using car crashes as vehicle of character's drive and future personality - i expected him to be boring character that either evokes pity or admiration of strength from viewers, but actor and writer delivered throughout whole season.

saeroyi is angry about his father's death and he has a firm grip on his pride (bc thats the only thing he has as an ex convict and middle school grad).

His pride, ambition, morals (im never firing you guys), values (we do business w. humans), compassion and respect for others actions and independence (in his own words - people are free to do what they want and everyone has their reasons, i wont keep them here if they feel differently about their current predicament, they'll come back if they want to come back (aka free will)).

Unexpectedly, he doesn't hesitate to express his love for soo a (and refuses to question why she stays at jangga, she's like "why dont u hate me" and hes like "u have ur own reasons"), BUT at the same time, he cares for yi seo (by stroking her hair when she does something well) AND hesitates to say he loves her (hyun yi explicitly states "he probably confuses familiarity with love" and another character says "everyone knows he loves her but he doesn't know he feels that way about yi seo"). He admits (through pauses when characters want him to admit she is indispensable to him and he needs her) that shes the best thing to ever happen to him. shes one of the few people who understands his desire for revenge (soo a is like "cant u just forget this shit" and he picks up a phone call from yi seo w/o hesitation and is like "i cant live my life until i get revenge" while sooa is tugging his hand).

Isn't it interesting that he cares for people (pats people on the head, refuses to abandon them, vandalizes nightclub for racism, gets mad about transgender reveal debacle) but he cannot really show he cares about yi seo bc he indirectly believes he doesn't deserve to care about himself (that phone call w/ yi seo while soo a tugs on his hand) but also freely expresses his love for soo a?

Yea he's kind of a boring main lead due to predictability BUT his character development at the end (when he finds out his true feelings for Yi seo) during Dae hee's character development (oh yea jangga was started bc my siblings died from hunger and i feel some kinda strange feelings towards saeroyi) is a great way to reveal growth. the drama is almost saying they're similar in a way bc saeroyi started danbam from painful experience, forgot the reason for his drive to succeed, and found out how he feels towards yi seo and dae hee.

- - We also see times where saeroyi forgot to care for his employees and let them have their opinion , almost becoming daehee (in one episode, someone said "hey you're not the only human being in danbam, can't you take everyone's opinions into acc"t) as Dae hee runs jangga that way.

I love when there's blurry definitions of morals, right and wrong, and small glimpses of similarity between protagonist and antagonist.

At the end - when he realizes his feelings of yiseo (I need to save her, f*ck meeee) and lets go of his desire for revenge towards jangga by letting down his pride to kneel (idc i have to kneel, he states to dae hee that it's just sad you're trying to make me kneel in this situation, you're a pathetic excuse of a human being, i wasted my life on you for nothing)), his growth is explosive.

IDT that yiseos/ saeroyis relationship was rushed b/c the last 3 episodes was intended to be an explosion of character's realization of their feelings. Their relationship has been slowly revealed in each episode so it was meant to be this way.

Yes, while the protagonist is already expected to be the person that comes out on top, Itaewon Class writers wrote interesting array of relationships between him and different characters, which becomes reflective of his personality, and developed shifting motives and feelings for expanding jangga and keeping yi seo around. Protagonists are usually so boring (to the point that the only time i follow the drama is if the actor is cute), but the writers expanded his personality in action and relationship (i'll repair and improve the shops in the alley; ill always protect the danbam team by standing up for their quirks) to add on to his spoken statements.

for starters, the characters that developed between dae hee, geun won, soo a, and saeroyi were complex.

We did not really see what the Jangga meant to daehee or the motivation was to run the company until the end. Nor did the drama reveal what his feelings were to geun won or why their relationship was so fraught right away. And why did he only acknowledge certain people? Why did they deserve to be ackn?

Jangga was his whole life. To run this company and keep it alive, he believed the unsavory methods he used were justified by the result. His severe, machiavellian personality was developed from his drive to make the company no.1. He disliked Geun won for having feelings and a lack of a strong voice / backbone. Geun won's personality and his inability to make good choices in the interest of the company (which we see through the board meetings scene coupled w/ preoccupation for his father's approval ((which is why he never had much of an opinion and was just a bumbling oaf)) made dae hee believe that he could never let him gain control of his company, so he will never gain his approval. He literally tried to slap the feelings out of geun won so geun won can develop the same personality fit to run the company (evident from chicken scene).

We see that his love language is competence and drive for success - for a person to be acknowledged as human they must possess these key traits - which is why he is fond of soo a, considers saeroyi a threat, thinks yi seo is similar to him (the cafe meeting - "you're like me"), and favors geun soo as sole heir (he is like OK you can have the company at ep 14 or 15 idk).

In the context of beginning to middle of story, he is consistently portrayed as a flat, heartless character w/ no other motive than success, revenge and conquest of having people see he was invincible & most powerful HuMaN (trying to squash any chance of IC expanding w/ building takeover, pulling out the first investor). He could not stand people who could not acknowledge he was better than everyone else (seen through scenes of his preoccupation to have saeroyi kneel). As viewers, we only saw that he was characterized by pure hatred & disdain and incapable of forgiving. The moments where we thought he was human was swiftly stolen by the writers - did we imagine his humanity? (hugging geun won, crying at press conf) or was this an act to keep Jangga afloat? (diving stocks) It was always a precarious balance of uncertainty between his actions and the concerns that were verbally spoken.

He also casually mentioned he has a bond w/ people (Min Jung) after years of working w/ them so he might be able to trust them w/ Jangga. we were led to believe emotions were unnecessary (spoken multiple times within drama) so it was surprising when he conveyed any emotion of disappointment in betrayal bc we were led to believe people were immediately disposable (seeing pics of min jun and saeroyi meeting up). But he never fired Min Jung or Sooa even though he did not trust them. Why? Bc they were competent people who have earned his respect; they were much better than geun won will ever be.

As the years went by and he has had time to reflect on his thoughts about the company and saeroyi, we see sudden, immense character development (& bckground of his personality!!!!) that was almost instantaneous. Soo A asked him why jangga was his whole life but he could never give an answer. He finally speaks out about how his siblings died from hunger and jangga was started so everyone would have enough to eat. The experience of death tormented him and was so traumatizing that he grew jangga and ran it with drive to succeed, haunted by the memory. But then it became a quest to remind people he was better than everyone else who ever lived, and was the most powerful being to ever exist. It is almost expected for everyone to kneel before him.

Hatred, revenge, humanity, trust, desire to bond, pain, and love made him complex. To push the agenda that this character is someone who was only motivated by one event would be criminal. The relationship between SooA, saeroyi, geun won, geunsoo, and minjung showed different facets of his personality.

The last two episodes where he made saeroyi kneel and then he kneeled were full cirlce. Saeroyi was like "i spent my life trying to get revenge on you.... and this is what you want? What a waste. Dang what was i doing". Completely Obliterated Him. Saeroyi was a worthy opponent and it was a hollow victory created by dire circumstances. BTW he only trusted his blood to run the company (geun won sucks but he is still my child I guess (he said multiple times) and geun soo is next bc he is my child too). When he wanted saeroyi to save his company ~the sole reason for why he was alive~ it was almost like he said you are my child, my competent opponent, and a human being that is better than me. When saeroyi granted him his humanity (i'm not doing this to pity you, this is just business - what dae hee would say for business), so many emotions were put into one scene. "Thanks for saving my company, thanks for acknowledging I'm a human, and thanks for showing compassion to me even though I did you wronggg". Great complex antagonist.

nano Mar 31 2020 11:44 pm Honestly, disappointing. Don't get me wrong, i'm a big fan of PSJ but this drama is a no for me. I stopped watching at ep 8, I just can't take it anymore, was a total drag. There was no chemistry within the characters at all, storyline sucked and the acting..is just too awkward.. (for the whole DanBam team).

I really don't get the hype about this drama since everyone is raving about it.

Just skip this one.

zenrific Mar 31 2020 8:43 am I personally find this drama very entertaining and although some episodes are a drag, i find it actually good. What people fail to notice was, Soo-ah had a way of supporting Saeroyi by lowkey being manipulative, she wanted him to be succesful by telling him to be rich, and she wouldn't accept Saeroyi after leading him on for approximately 10 years, only until another girl comes to Saeroyi's life then it made her realize what she was missing out on.

Personally, Yi-seo is a complex character. The writer clearly wanted to show and annoy the watchers, when behind it all, there's a meaning to it. It clearly shows that Yi-seo is imperfect. She can be rude and stubborn, but what the author also showed was, she would sacrifice herself for someone she very truly loves. Of course everyone has imperfections, and when do you see a k-drama actually showing the imperfections of the character, mostly it's just based on their wealth and image. Although she made remarks that are uncalled for, one thing i really like about Yi-seo's character was she's real. People have flaws, and through that she learns.

One thing about PSJ, of course he pulled off the acting, it was very good. Seeing people pissed about him kneeling just shows sometimes, you have to throw your pride away to be order to have freedom, and get what you want. He did stick to his morals, but let's say if someone you truly love was in complete danger, people in real life would do the same thing, won't they? unless they're heartless like mr chairman Jang Dae-Hee. What's amazing about the writing of his character was, it's real. It's not some melancholy fantasy where he's perfect, he'll act the way the watcher wants. That's one thing really amazing about this drama.

He started from not listening to what other people say, from a stubborn child to someone who is still strong and stuck with his morals, but thinks. In real life, that's how business works. Sometimes, you just have to swallow your pride to get it to continue. The way the author write the character's are indeed, very real.

I would give this drama an 8.5/10. Sure there are flaws to the writing, but it touched some taboos and stereotypes too. You rarely see a korean drama doing this especially with Korea not being as open minded yet to the topic of racism and transgender, which this drama touches. Also, if Soo-ah and Saeroyi did end up together, it wouldn't be amazing wouldn't it? Soo-ah wanted Saeroyi to grow but change, which Yi-seo supported Saeroyi and didn't change for him nor did she wanted to change him.

This is why, if Saeroyi did not end up with the two of them i feel like it'd be fine, but if she ended up with Yi-seo too it's fine honestly. Yi-seo being called desperate i feel is not necessary. The author wanted to project that Yi-seo's character, will not stop to get what she wants, and some people are like this in real life too. Overall, this drama is a very good drama, and in my opinion, people need to stop hating on it just because they're used to dull-minded drama that does not require any thinking or looking at the character's depth.

There’s a lot of great actors in this drama, and while they did great with their acting (no doubt!), it’s the story that sucked. We’ve all seen this kind of story before. It gets tiring watching almost the same plot for different dramas over and over.

booyah Mar 30 2020 4:47 am i think the reason why soo ah told royi that she'll date only rich guy is to provoke royi, to pull up himself together,(just like what she told to royi when he almost killed geun-won) because royi ended up in jail and felt like his life was broken because of his father's death... since ep 1 it showed how soo sh developed her feelings for royi but lowkey ahah and th scene where royi went to itaewon and soo ah asked him if he want to stay in her apartment(?)...in the end she showed how selfless she is even though she made some decisions that hurted royi(ep4).

Didn’t care about who ended up with him in the end but I’m surprised people even wanted Saeroyi with Soo ah they had 0 chemistry and she barely liked him enough until she realised she was losing him. Yi seo and Saeroyi had a cute kind of chemistry which would’ve worked better had we got to see them more as a couple instead of them getting together in the last few minutes.

Cannot believe people are whining about Saeroyi kneeling to save the life of someone he cares about. Whether you feel their relationship is rushed or not if you really think this man would put his pride over helping people in his life you haven’t been paying attention to this character at all. None of the times he refused to kneel were at the extent of someone else’s life. This time it was.

Anyway this series would’ve done better with a few more episodes to help with the pacing other than that I enjoyed the entire series.

It feels like it drags on forever, there is no difference between any episodes, episodes 2 through 12 are exactly the same, there's no chemistry between the lead couple and the whole thing feels sort of forced, not to mention yiseo's character is so annoying to watch, her transphobic and racist comments are annoying to hear, and while it seems like she 'grows up', she just repeats the same mistakes every damn episode, guess they never heard about character development. Honestly, skip this one.

The classic evil rich guy makes life a living hell for main characters again and again. Most of the characters are so dull. The only one I liked was Sae-Ro-Yi, Seung-Kwon, Hyun-Yi. I enjoyed the drama 7.5/10

We get Park Seo Joon who is just so awesome to watch in any drama he's given. But then when I seen Kim Da Mi act she's become my new favorite actress. I definitely can't wait to see what else project she's given in the future. If you're not fighting to get her on your show or movie then what the heck is wrong with you? She's so versatile in her acting that she brings each character she plays to life. Other then that Itaewon Class is definitely one that I believe everyone should give it a try, totally worth it!

I tried to watch this drama in January when it came out but literally could not make it past the first 15 mins of the first episode. Then after finishing Reply 1997, I decided why not just give it a go, especially bc I’m a fan of PSJ and his work. I personally give this drama a solid 3.5/5 stars. I’m not one to get upset about dramas, mainly because I know they are fictional, but the writers of this drama really knew how to grind my gears.

Neither Soo-Ah nor Yi-Seo deserved Saeroyi. Soo-ah for dragging him along for a million years and Yi-Seo for basically forcing herself on him. The characters had multiple times to redeem themselves (Geun-Soo especially!!) but I guess the writers prefer sucky, toxic characters:)

Yi-Seo really annoyed the living hell out of me, I’ve watched 30+ dramas and no character has irritated me like her. She showed that she was transphobic and racist, and so uncaring of others emotions that she would fire them just for the sake of DanBam aka for the sake of Saeroyi. Her need to always satisfy Saeroyi is honestly so sad. I guess she ""redeemed"" herself by eventually accepting Hyun-hi and calling her "unnie" and then agreeing to help Toni look for his dad, but it was more of a "okay whatever let me just do this thing and get it over with" vibe.

Lastly, this drama managed to keep me at the edge of my seat; even when I could predict what was coming next. The action scenes were solid and the bad guys played their roles really well. Special shoutout to the actor that played Geun-Won! He acted really well and had me cursing at my screen when he would cross the line. I knew he acted previously in Her Private Life, typical second male lead role, so it was very interesting to see him play a bad guy! Good Job!

This drama was completely avant-garde from a Korean cultural standpoint. This was Park Seo Joon’s finest work.

First episode was great, thought I was going to enjoy a nice, inoffensive love plot featuring two people from rival businesses. Unfortunately, what we got was an obnoxious, bratty, racist, transphobic character shoehorned into the second episode and placed as a main protagonist. Let me reiterate that Yiseo *tries to get the transgender girl fired from her job because "Some people will be uncomfortable"* and calls the black character "Not really Korean". So this is the character that we're supposed to be rooting for? That's who we're supposed to want to win? Pathetic. Not to mention that outside of being a deplorable human being, she is rude to people for no reason and acts like she's important. Yes, I know it's because she's a "psychopath". Does that make it any more enjoyable to watch? Absolutely not. A bad character is a bad character, and a mental illness doesn't excuse her for being unlikable. Psychopathic characters can be enjoyable to watch, but this one most definitely isn't. Nobody decent enjoys watching an entitled child act like a disgusting person and still win. Yiseo was a horrible character who doesn't deserve a happy ending, point blank period. To the people who like this show: I implore you to raise your standards for the media you consume. To the actors and actresses involved: I pity that you had to participate in such an abysmal production.

bobo Mar 26 2020 10:02 am Disappointed!!! story is so boring, plot story conflict is so mess up, i came here to watch itaewon looking for food like the spoiler said, i want to travel online in the quarantine day, but story is so weak and boring, revenge? company? is so boring story!!!! we just look for boring conflict, boring plot and boring story. i stop watch in ep 13 where yi seo change her hair! so lame, I don't know what this story about, yi seo is new character in every drama ever made, but she appears a little bit, if the producer fokus for yi seo, itaewon, food, this more exited!!

Doona Mar 25 2020 7:57 pm Even before this series started, when I watched the trailer I was instantly hooked up on what's going to happen and I silently shipped Park Seo-Joon and Kim Da-Mi. :) What I like about this series is that this is not your normal K Drama series that you've watch before, this Itaewon Class you'll learn something from it. Kim Da Mi's character really attracts me because she's not you usual female lead, damsel in mistress kinda role. and PSJ role as well very opposite compared to his other series. Honestly I still can't get over this and many more months to come! I want more from them. Season 2 please! hahahaha

Amanda Mar 24 2020 6:48 pm I'm a big fan of Park Seo Joon, I think this is the fifth show of his I've watched. I loved every ep, for different reasons. My only complaints would be I wished the characters Choi Seung-Kwon and Ma Hyun-Yi had more screen time, especially would of loved it if they had started dating. Tony disappeared almost from the show. And the last ep, I would of cut down the never ending fight/car chase scene and made more room for the romance.

Every actor was great especially the leads, Kim Da Mi was impressive showing her character growth from self involved and lacking empathy to caring about friends and showing a softer side. In fact the growth of all 5 main characters was well written and acted.

And sigh Park SeoJoon...I dont care if I'm 6 years older then him, he still gives me butterflies :) 5☆ to the whole IC cast and crew x

I had high hopes for this drama since everyone was raving about it. the female lead is extremely unlikeable and i found myself rolling my eyes so many times. I know she's supposed to be a psychopath, but her character was immature and obnoxious.

the drama was interesting in the sense that it tried to be diverse with it's casting by having a transgender character, a foreigner, and overall quirky characters. But the plot itself was predicable and dragged on. Additionally, i don't think the acting from the actors themselves was remarkable. Some of the acting felt unnatural and at times, awkward.

SPOILERS! Firstly, Park Sae Ro Yi and Jo Yi Seo really struggle to raise their company to beat JangGa but in the end they win because of Oh Soo Ah become whistle blower.. damn son, that is not fcking fair.. It feels like you using cheat code when playing game. All their blood and sweat become waste.

Secondly, their romantic moments only on last 10 minutes, oh man.. Why you all so cruel??? (even though I still think, "luckily they made that moment" but I'm still not satisfied)

By the way, they still did good job.. Park Seo Joon never disappoint us..

Actually, if I ignore the pacing of the drama, and just lay the whole plot, writing it on a paper, it actually makes sense. The hard headed kind person, Saeroyi, who lives by principals, spent 14 years learning that revenge would not make someone happy. And spent 4 whole years of non-stop working to finally realized his love toward Yiseo, a woman who stubbornly stay by his side through ups and downs and the biggest reason he able to achieve his dreams. But, of course thinking that the pacing of the drama makes the plots SUPER CRAMMED in the last two episodes, makes the plot very unbelievable. The biggest problems are those time skips, imho. But, the time skips wouldn't need to happen, if the author didn't make the rival of the small pub Danbam, a giant corporation like Jangga. Making a drama about a small pub fighting against a number one company, trying to cram all the process until the small pub become the number one corp, while adding transgender problems, racisms, romance, mafia, and many more subplots in just 16 episodes is just too ambitious lol. I think it would be much more doable if the rival is just a fellow successful pub or restaurant instead.

However, this drama with all of it's flaws, is still a fresh breath of air. The casting choices and the acting are superb, the strong female leads are needed, the OSTs are wonderful, and the brave decision to include the risky subplots like transgender and racism are very much appreciated by me. Also, I got to see more of my Lee Joo Young too(sorry for keep mentioning her in my comments, lol). Anyway, farewell Itaewon Class team~ You guys did a great job, thank you so much~~

I kept on telling others to watch it. Then, I somehow become quiet in the middle part. Lol. The only thing that keeps me going is the cast.

Casting is great. All actors and actresses here are really good. Kim Dam Mi is young but she's kicking her way in as the sociopath Yi Seo. She's really daebak. I thought of the actor who played Geun Soo as a newbie but hell I was wrong. He's a newbie yes but his acting has great potentials. Nara is better here. The Jangs are daebak.

Character development was poorly done. That's where it went haywire. That's the reason behind the mess. Saeroyi started off as a very dignified man. Man of his words. And then, ugh. Something happened. Geun Soo's character was the worst character development. It felt so rushed and so out of line.

Chemistry is so-so. If it was a different actress as Yi Seo, Shin Se Hyun for example, it will be passable. But it was Kim Dam Mi. Dam Mi and Seo Joon's chemistry will pass off as brother-sister relationship. It would be better honestly if neither ended with him. The writer should have thought of this well. It"s either Oh Soo Ah or no one. He could be single and then just put someone as cameo so we could just imagine his love life after that. Then Soo Ah to Geun Won and Yi Seo to Geun Soo. Or just let Soo Ah have Saeroyi. It was quite awkward how he suddenly fell in love with Yi Seo. But then again, the writer"s objective must be to prove that age doesn't really matter.

Nevertheless, it was a good drama. It's worth every second of your time. Afterall, there's no such thing as perfect drama. It all depends on our acceptance and taste.

P.S. Putting Park Bogum's character at the end is a good decision. At least we all won't feel so bad about Soo Ah.

Episodes 2-6 were clearly the best, before it drifted a bit too much into the generic revenge-plot with a lot of politics and emotions. I liked the story focussing on the development of DanBam and I Kind of prefer harmony over sadness. But the latter is a Main part of every drama, sure.

Brought park bo gum in to fix the ending but that's not enough and the main chick was terrible throughout - a guy comes and saves you but you leave him for dead and also later on you give him the cold shoulder. And bad guy kneeled at the end but it wasn't for revenge I'm just a businessman let's have capitalism be the main reason for every decision we make not the love we have for our family. He's probably going to be a worse CEO in the future.

KleyKley Mar 21 2020 2:55 am Ep. 15 - Nice!! Realization. Reflection. Decisions. Growth. Maturity. Saeroyi went through an important process of refocusing or reframing his vision in life. Realizing that he was holding on to his dad’s memory to justify his need for revenge was super hard to admit. Even harder was to admit that revenge didn’t bring him happiness or fulfillment in life. If he hadn’t admitted this, he would have found life too hard to live and he would have crossed the bridge with his dad; but the fact that he owned up to it, freed him to live a better and more fulfilling life - thus, the scene where Yiseo was reading the book in his office.

The tremendous growth he experienced while unconscious, was awesome - how else would this growth have taken place in such a short time if not while he was at the crossroads, between life and death. Well done by the writers/directors.

Then, the cherry on the ice cream... him kneeling before the evil Mr. Jang!!!! OMG!!! The fact that kneeling before his archenemy actually became the easiest thing for him to do, while trying to save someone’s life shows his growth and new level if maturity. Yes, I wanted to grab Mr. Jang and slap the information out of him, but kneeling before him to save Yiseo’s life proved the superior quality of human being Saeroyi is over anyone at Jangga.

I know the drama has to end, and I can’t wait to watch the final episode, but I will miss it tremendously!! I wish there was more!!

I’ve really enjoyed this drama. The best one I’ve seen in a while!

Production quality and flashy agenas doesn't make up for bad writing (doesn't matter how close it is to the webtoon) when you remake something it has to stand on its own or why make it? Pointless plots with long drinking monologues, out character and non motivated protagonist, annoying lead with unrealistic obsessions, and story changes midway you can tell it was a mess all in the making. Someone loves a person for x amount of years and finds a drawing of himself and now he loves the other person? What if the drawing was ugly?

All the 10 years plus he did not get to sleep well and end up restless. He was doing well but deep down he is unhappy. How can someone who is revengeful be happy? Being close to death, he finally understood what us the most important to him- is it his ego, is it being better than jangga, it is being the best, should he have kneeled down? No..... What's good about all that when one dies ? can one bring his glorious name , money to his deathbed? of course not. that's why he decided that he will choose love as love will pave his way to what we all want in life - happiness. hence, the last line - this is the easiest thing for him to do . He chose happiness over revenge, over his ego and i have to say i'm happy for him .

Where as Soo Ah could’ve left the company and joined hands with him and supported him because he needed someone by his side, she deserves to be in that company taking care of herself as she always have. Couldn’t stop replaying how he kneeled before the chairman which none of us would’ve imagined, but just for Yi Seo! Revenge and everything aside, just for the woman!!! Towards the ending, it became a little too extreme for me. @Mas Roy confirmed that it actually happened in the webtoon too. Tbh, it kinda make sense, but I think the drama makes the transition too fast. For some reason I believe this turning point should have been done in the episode 12-ish instead of the two ending episodes. Because now there's too much going on and it kind of feels like IC turned into a makjang drama with so much plot being crammed into two last episodes. And also, I still don't get Hyunyi and Yiseo new hairstyles. I hope they change it again in the very last episode. Especially Hyunyi's bangs. I need it to go away soon. Sometimes I even laughed a bit in serious scenes because of her hair. I can't. I still love Lee Joo Young though..

Now, onto the shipping part. I ship Saeroyi with either Yiseo or even Hyunyi, Sooah doesn't deserve Saeroyi at all. The only thing she did for Saeroyi was asking him to not kill Geunwon. That's a great thing, but then she's always being so harsh to him after that. Rejected him several times, even said that she only date rich guys. I understand that she's "indEpENdEnt WomEn", but that answer was such a "jerk" answer. And you guys seems to forget that she basically ghosted him when he was still in prison, and never really met him in 7 years. She's basically a stranger like Yiseo when Saeroyi started Danbam.

Well the story is good and the transformation is awesome. All casts are great. 100 percent rate for me. What will happen to Sae RO Yi? This story always put my mind thinking what would gonna be happen next. Fighting pls don't die Seo. Hope the ending still cute and happy.

This drama started off very strong but fell short for me about half way. I'll start off with the good - the characters were interesting, I liked that each character had their own background story and how the way they were raised influenced their life choices. The acting, the cinematography, the soundtrack were all amazing...it started off with so much potential but man did the writing went to hell about halfway through. Things started getting unrealistic and the pacing was just off for me. They like to include a lot of random and extreme time skips but within this time frame of like 10+ years none of the characters ever really change (exception being Soo Ah's hair)...am I supposed to believe that within these 10+ years none of the characters ever dated someone else or even tried to shift their relationships with each other?? About half way through it became obvious that the writers ran out of content and desperately tried to keep the drama going by throwing in as much crap as possible. Another thing that bothered me like crazy was Geun Soo's character. He's a huge contradiction and his motivation for taking over Jangga + sudden change in personality was poorly written and totally unbelievable. He spent his whole life trying to get away from his family and avoiding becoming the monster that his father was, but he chose to betray all his friends and gave up Everything he believed in just for a girl he had a crush on?? Also i'm not buying the whole star crossed lovers thing between Soo Ah and Saeroyi...its written like Soo Ah won't be able to live without Jangga. With her qualifications and brains I'm sure she would have no problem finding a job elsewhere but nope, she gotta sacrifice her love and torture herself being the middleman (i have zero ounce of sympathy for her). IMO episode 14 was the worst episode of the whole season. Saeroyi's sudden change in feelings for Yi Seo was very forced and rushed. Frankly, I haven't felt any romantic tension between the two of them throughout the entire show (although the cast's acting was great) and i think the sudden change goes against his character. The whole car thing was so ridiculous I'm not even going to bother commenting on it.

Yi-seo has always been there for him, and I saw how they made each other a better versions of themselves. Also, the diversity of this drama is what makes it the best. They tackled about bullying, racism, lgbtq+ issues, strong independent women, the chances for the ex-convicts like Saeroyi and Seung-kwon to still dream and have a good life, principles in life, age gap, etc. This drama really deserves to be number one!!

It’s been a long long time since a drama has hit me this hard. The way they wrote tge script is lovely in my opinion. And I do love me some romance and I think this drama is putting enough of it to get you wanting to watch for the love story development but not too much where if you aren’t so into romance it’s plot is still interesting enough. I really love this drama and it’s unlike any drama Ive ever watched. People say there is lack of chemistry between Yi Seo and Saeroyi? I don’t see it. They have a lot in my view it’s just that they are VERY different types of characters than your average drama so I don’t think people are used to it. Im really really really going to miss this drama once it’s over ? I just hope the drama ends well without leaving me with questions.

They did a pretty good job with Saeroyi's dad accident scene, so they do know how to make it pretty believable but why did they chose the most cliche scene for Saeroyi. Saeroyi was pretty obvious looked like he waited for the car to hit him while he could save himself by just throwing himself to Geunsoo. Anyway, plot wise, it kind of make it more interesting. I wanna know if the writer would be crazy enough to killed off a main character, it would be sad but "fresh" in fiction world tropes to not have a "plot armour" for the main character lol

ep 13 and ep 14 has been a let down, it has less cool moment from everyone. saeroyi has been hurting a lot of people beside him. and the way he talk to everyone is not cool too. but i think i should be done, he needs to change to.

but from our perspective it's not cool at all. he should still be the man of his word, and still like soo ah, because it's his another life goal. with the ending of ep 14, it has less predictable, in how he can destroy jangga. or he will just choice love over revenge. i vote choosing love for saeroyi, and put smile on his face for the rest of his life.

The car is at least 3m away, has to accelerate and one guy just stands in shock like a deer, the other pushes him away and seems to be happy to get run over himself... and of course he flies wide away and blood comes from his head. Sure. It just looks ridiculous and makes me angry. Like in most dramas.

Beside that I really like this drama, albeit the 6 six episodes were best. Looking forward to a grande finale

After that, it would be yiseo turn to care for saeroyi.. Then love grows... Well i'm not being a smartass, but this drama become a turnoff after focused more to love things.

Kleykley Mar 14 2020 5:56 pm I don’t know how this will end but up to episode 14, I still think this drama deserves to win #1 award. It’s the same trama but with a fresh twist. The actors are all good. You love the good ones and hate the bad ones, as one should. The love story is just so real!! Yiseo and Saeroyi are great together and my heart is pounding just to know he’s finally realized his true feelings for her. I was afraid this drama would be so disappointing if Saeroyi ended up with SooAh because the one who really put her all on the line for him was Yiseo. I’m happy to see he’s finally matured at his age. Why are men so clueless sometimes? But that’s the whole beauty of this drama - how real and relatable the characters are! Flawed and so human!!! I’m so impressed by how good this drama is. The writers and the director(s) and the actors have done a great job so far!! Now I hope they keep it up til the end - and not ruin it for us with a useless cliffhanger just because Netflix is involved!! Most good dramas have ended in total disappointment when they’re in Netflix - pretending and hoping for a second season without real confirmation.

Anyway, I’m just sharing my thoughts with people whom, like me, love Kdramas!!

I can’t wait for the last two episodes!!! It will be bittersweet since I want to see the ending but I don’t want it to end!! It’s been a while since I’ve felt like this. We need more dramas like this!!! Sometimes it feels like we’re in a drought, lacking good dramas to fill our lives with romance and excitement!!

Everything from the acting, soundtrack, to how the story is put together is SO good. The scene Saeroyi realized he likes Yi Seo was so well put together + his conversation with Geun Soo. How am I supposed to wait a whole week after *THAT* ENDING?! I need it now! P.S Geun Won is still a rat I see, I hate him til the end. Also the gangster boss! P.P.S For people who are saying they don't like Yi Seo, Why?! She's one of the most interesting female leads in k-dramas I've watched (and I've watched a lot, trust me). She's flawed just like the rest of us, with so much spunk and personality! Not to mention her time-skip outfits/style is to die for!

My girl Hyun Yi, deserve the best still. She's so small and cute, I don't care if I'm still the only one who keeps talking about her. Btw, the time skip is pretty interesting, I just don't understand the reasons behind those hairstyles Danbam crews have including Saeroyi's and Yiseo's. Their hairstyles actually becoming more old-fashioned, is that also happened in the webtoon? But anyways, it doesn't affect the plot, so who am I to say anything about it anyway.

And the story will focus on love? That would be a turnoff for this drama..

Geun woo is an idiot but I don't hate him as much as I hate Geun soo right now. Geun woo became like that because his father made him believe those are the right thing to do but Geun soo should have know better, he had a choice. Anyway I am so proud of yi seo for putting that selfish wench soo ah in her place. She should have stopped being a selfish coward and chosen a side instead of try to play two sides, I would have respected her more.

It was interesting to see Geun-Soo go from a side character to an important antagonist, he's a mirror version of how the Chairman was when he was younger. Also interesting how Gun-Won's story is developing, I wonder where he fits in all of this. I was not expecting the 4 yr time skip but I'm glad it happened! 3 more episodes left of this amazing drama, I'm sad already! 1000/10

TeamILL Park Saeroyi and Jo Yiseo is my endgame. Both their growths are because of each other. The typical basic Park Saeroyi hungry for revenge and the psychopath bitch jo yiseo is the reason why their characters is one of the most interesting characters I have ever encountered in this kdrama wave. Saeroyi’s character needs yiseo and vice versa. They both support each other without being left out. Saeroyi maybe confused but as I can see it, he’s not seeing Soo Ah as a love interest but as a goal. Just like how he sees jangga. That’s why I ship him to yiseo. He’s open to his emotions, I mean he has shown Yiseo his angry, confused side but remains a shy invulnerable saeroyi to sooah.

Saeroyi and Yiseo both went on a hard road but episode 12 ended episode 11’s crying jo yiseo to saeroyi’s head tapping seeing he is overwhelmed by the I love you, see you in my dreams. Cant wait for the romance to really start knowing Saeroyi’s finally sidetracked.

Even Park Sae Ro Yi's character is a bit dull in my opinion, like I feel sorry for him, but he lacks energy I feel like. The interesting part for me is definitely Yiseo's character, she isn't that typical "korean female lead pretty" but she's so crazy it's funny. I must admitted though, If I knew the outcome would be this boring, I wouldn't want to watch it on the first place. Oh and the acting was kinda bad too esp the restaurant workers, the transgender to be more specific uh.

Every drama Netflix has been involved in has been nothing but a waiting game: taking us on a great journey and leaving us unsatisfied and just waiting and waiting and waiting for and announcement of another season, then more freaking waiting for the actual episodes to air. It's annoying.

I'm gonna be pissed as hell if there is no conclusion after taking us on such a ride with these characters and this story. It's enough to make me end my Netflix subscription and stick to Viki.

Netflix is singlehandedly ruining dramas for me. Making them more and more like US/Western tv series, where every season ends with a cliff hanger and you have to wait months to be taken on another long ride to another cliff hanger ending.

I don't watch western tv series for that reason. I watch mainly dramas because they are better written and more satisfying to watch.

I love everything about this drama, but a cliff hanger "will there be a season2" ending would make me "take it to social media" hate it.

If he's really just planned these with Saeroyi, that really going against Saeroyi's character. Saeroyi wouldn't bother trying to chase Hyunyi and said those beautiful words. And also, Saeroyi even know how much it hurted Hyunyi more than Hyunyi herself, and you can see how Hyunyi really breakdown because of this issue. Just so you know, being outed against your will is A VERY BIG DEAL. It's simply so cruel, I trust Saeroyi enough to think he would never do that to his crews. So yeah, in conclusion, I really think Geunsoo really becoming bad and planned that evil plan alone. I can't believe I can hate him more than Jang Dae Hee tbh..

I love Yiso here, she understands Saeroy, and doesn't make any crazy move as expected from a character as hers. Her heart is broken, yet she comes back and works at Danbam despite of the situation that happens between the two. I liked Toni's badass grandma, finally someone can talk to Mr. Ganja. Tbh, I still don't ship Saeroyi with anyone even till now, so if he really wants to end up with Soo Ah, I'm fine with that. Also, kudos to him for not giving Yi Seo any of false hope. I think it's better that way. I also love that there's more screen time for the Danbam crew, especially my girl Hyun Yi(she's still the main reason I watch this drama hehe). I still like how they treated the "risky" plot about transgender and racism in this drama, they don't make it over the top and seems to know what to highlight about the topics.

That being said, I still kind of dislike how "shallow" the characterizations for the villains in this drama, especially the Jang family. Don't get me wrong, the actors did their part marvelously, the moment you feel like you want to punch each of them in their faces means their acting really works. But, I still hate the fact that the writer either make it like their characters don't have any positive mindsets(Daehee and Geunwon) or the reason they betrayed people was just a very shallow reason(Geunsoo). I still can't believe a guy who could be mature enough working his whole life to break free from his toxic family, could finally find a better place to be his "family" with brotherly figure that he himself really respect, suddenly want to betray this better "family" just because a girl, one that he also knows very well doesn't like him back at all. That's just, so shallow imho. The sudden plot twist is a little rushed. Okay, rabt over, I typed too much again lol.

kudos Mar 07 2020 3:21 am Villain role for Soo Ah is matter for her. I have just watched episode 11 a while ago. Age doesn't matter, in relationship, maturity and true love matters most. Love doesn't care if someone is older or younger. If the hearts want, do it, but be sure its your heart's want not your mind. If you both are on the same level of maturity, don't let the attached age number cloud your decision. True love doesn't care age. I felt sad with Jo Yi Seo when Sae Yo Ri got bumped her. Hoping that Jo Yi Seo will change her outfit into sexy as woman. Hoping that they will be together in the end.

When Geun Won was convicted and incarcerated, maybe his successor as Director Manager is his younger brother Geun Soo. Geun Soo had this in mind when Jo Si Yeo said that if you got Jang Co and be the owner “I might still like you”. So he is going to fight Sae Ro Yi because Jo Si Yeo likes his boss so much. There will be some rivalry between Sae Ro Yi and Geun Soo because of Jo Si Yeo. Sae Ro Yi will love and be jealous of Geun Soo little by litte but Jo SiYeo and Sae Ro Yi's romance will still prevail. Since Jo Si Yeo is smart and witty he will help SAe Ro yi to prevail and to be successor of a company. They look so cute. Jo Si Yeo is such a witty kid. I love her gesture, her smile like a little child comparing to Da Nara. She can be comedian when you look her eyes its like indicating and revealing something. I love of course my crush PSJ. .handsome and manly indeed. Please make a Kdrama with IU and Kim Dami. PSJ, IU and Kim Dami. I love all the casts. They look anime, their get up and costume and of course their hair. Like the story also , it puzzle me really, can't guess what would be the next story. Hatsoff.

i saw Saeroyi and SooA's relationship is unique on its own way. Probably like modern Romeo-Juliet. Its interesting how they basically "rival" but still hangout together.

BUT, since Yiseo confessed in ep 11. Things might change. (i know Saeroyi still said no, but he didnt have choice to consider it, i know he did)

I’m thinking Saeroyi has to wake up and see Yiseo as a love interest. He cannot possibly end up with poker face selfish Soo Ah regardless of how long he thinks he has liked her. Yiseo’s character is so flawed but that’s what makes her so human so real and so relatable!

Because Soo Ah is older and knows Saeroyi longer, I thought the writer would pair them up until the end and felt so bad for Yiseo because she’s honestly my favorite. So I was like, I guess she can still stay with the kid (Jjanga’s younger son) but after episode 11, I want that kid far away from her - as far as the east is from the west. The level of maturity between him and Yiseo is abismal and no matter how much he tries, he’ll never be good enough for her. Only Saeroyi, whom has as many issues as she does, can actually pair up well with her. Her intelligence and her willingness to be true to her feelings closed that age gap between them. They really make a good match!!

I’m so rooting for Yiseo and Saeroyi to end up together! I hope this is not one more drama with a sucky disappointing and unrealistic ending.

If the last 6 episodes continue to slay, I would even say it's the best. First of all it has an amazing cast, they all fill out their roles perfectly. Secondly, the atmosphere, settings and chemistry among the characters are all top notch. Clear recommendation!

Btw. it wasn't just one scene it was the 'typical' k-drama cliches that bother me. I was just holding on for that one character (Yi-Seo) as it was refreshing see a pragmatist in a female lead. And her being a sociopath was just the icing on top. Thanks for your feedback always appreciate constructive criticism.

On a side note: I think I would prefer Yi-Seo in short hair rather than long.

You were having fun till ep.7, so stop hating, the crying scene was part of the manhwa, if anything you're suppose to complain at the writing and not the directing. If you continue to dwelve into the show, you will realize why she didnt flip 180, she was always like that... even after the time skip where she grows her hair... I wont spoil anything for everyone.. but hold on to your seats.. there's a reason why this manhwa was at the top when it came out.

Paul Feb 25 2020 4:07 am I liked the show until episode 7. I thought this was going be one of those more down to earth character stories, but again drowned with too many k-drama tropes. The character 'Yi Seo' was my favorite as she was a female lead that had sociopathic tendencies and yet sound in her negative outlook of life. Which really worked well to contrast the lead's naive yet admiral steadfastness. However when she started crying in Episode 7, because she feels Sao Ri’s pain… I mean come on, I get it even a character that lacks emotions can 'feel' something but to do a complete 180 from how she started without build-up was exhausting to watch. Its disappointing since, her value for me as character just took a major nosedive. Oh well I found a better drama anyways Hyena, more relatable and definitely better directed. Unlike this drama it doesn't slow down the characters dialogue and give extra pauses for unnecessary 'dramatic effect'. This drama is written decently, but the directing is definitely lacking. Acting overall is not bad. Ultimately, I'm going to stop watching this at Episode 8. which too was disappointing in its own right. My rating 6.5/10.

And also, with this pretty intense story, funny friendship scenes is needed to appear here and there. The episode 7 and 8 kinda lacked that. It becomes a little too much, the viewers need to laugh and breath for a while too, you know.

But I dont like Sooah neither, she didnt call the police during the 3rd ep but She's been telling his enemy all she knew about him consciously. She said she wont like Geunwon for being the murderer of Mr Park but she's working for him and his coverer... She might have had a sad past, just as Geunwon, who's being abused by his father. However it can't justified their bad decisions. Seoroyi probably won't end up with Yiseo, but he certainly shouldnt end up with Sooah... Or I'll riot too!

Her character has a lot of love for Sae Ro Yi but I don’t really see him reciprocating that. Its like he treats her like a sister and I don’t even see feelings developing among them. Makes me wonder if he really will end up with her. They sure build the relationship between him and Soo Ah more. Great plot overall but the romance part seems inconsistent and not developing. I really hope that changes in the future I really don’t want him to end up with Soo Ah.

Yi Seo feels like a little sister to SaeRoYi and not a potential lover. IDK what the director was thinking by casting the actress in that role. While she plays the role well, she doesn't seem to have any chemistry with Park Seo Joon.

On another note, I'd like it if this drama explored Ahn Bo Hyeon's character more. It's obvious af that he's not like his father, yet the writers don't give his character any development whatsoever. Second episode, he was ready to throw himself away just in order to help PSJ's character but bam the potential's all gone. Be consistent please. There's more to a drama than just the lead characters. I'd like more development between his and SooA's relationship as well, there's a lot of potential there.

@Stechira, pretty sure Hyun Yi, in the story, is transgender into a female. Which could be confusing, since from the very first episode, I just thought she's a tomboy girl(I haven't read the webtoon). The story got even more interesting like this though. But, yeah, I love Lee Joo Young with all of my heart, but I think this plot would be even more impactful if they casted a real transgender. But maybe, Korea is not ready for that yet.

And also, it's very interesting that the revenge that Saeroyi planned through involved trading market investment. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the first time a k-drama use this plot, right? I got so amazed while watching both the transgender and market investment parts. I think this drama would be my top 5 drama for sure.

Karen Feb 11 2020 7:55 pm I've only ever seen Yoo Jae Myung in a few comedic roles, so it's been a real eye opener to see him play a villain in Itaewon Class.

Playing Do Bong Soon's dad, and the Prince's minder in Hwarang, to name a couple of roles where he played the nice guy, and then he appears as Jang Dae He in this show.

It shows his scope of characterization is wide open. I love him as an actor, so it'll be interesting how this character plays out as the show continues.

Loving the show so far, just a shame I've started watching from when it's first shown, instead of when it's finished as the week's break between the episodes is driving me nuts - it's addictive!!!

Episodes 2 & 3 kept me interested, but it was Episode 4 that nailed it for me. The scene in which Jo Yi-Seo (Kim Da-Mi) and Oh Soo-A (Kwon Na-Ra) square off across a cafe table from each other, is tense, funny, and sharp. The women's shifting faces, their leaning into each other across the table, their uses of their hair for display: It is all amazing. And when the focus of their rivalry, Park Sae-Ro-Yi (Park Seo-Joon), returns to the table with drinks for everyone and sits down, with Jo Yi-Seo on his left and Oh Soo-A on his right, he senses a new mood. This is outstanding writing, direction, and acting. Later, in the last scene of Episode 4, Kim Da-Mi reminded me of the young Jean Seberg—bursting with life.

Throughout the first 2 episodes, i was really waiting for daa mi to appear (after watching her in the witch movie), she’s really the weight or the mass that shifted the balance (or mundane performance) to a more stronger & interesting plot/performance. When ep3 &4 came....it just became WoW.... That is how good this drama is.... Jtbc - thank you....& keep giving us this kind of wonderful drama about life. She likes SYR but doesnt want to commit a serious relationship with him because she know he will like her forever....But that’s when the game change because of main lead female.....although she comes off as rude and cold hearted which is something you always see in male lead dramas, She has a warm heart...and i think sae yo ri is going to slowly fall for her...

Ace Feb 09 2020 3:04 am This is so good, what the heck! Quite different from Park Seo Joon's usual stuff but still so great. He's one of my favorite korean actor, watched almost all of his projects. So, yeah, i had high expectations for this drama, and so far it hasn't disappointed me.

I just finished the 4th episode. I haven't read the webtoon so i dont know how this drama would turn out in the end, but right now, this is definitely on my top 3. Not a complicated plot, but the way they've executed it is just brilliant.

Great cast! During the first ep, I liked & wanted Kwon Na-ra & him together, but after Kim Da-mi's appearance, i started to like her more ?. Weird kind of chemistry between the two. You know you'd end up together in the future but right now you just hate/dislike each other kind of chemistry. I love it!

This actually has the potential to be JTBC's highest rated drama, or the second highest at least. Right now, it's heading on the right track.

caake Feb 09 2020 12:29 am anyone who is arguing how they are still younger compared to their age, I noticed that in either ep 3-4, it says 2016 in the happy new year festival where the main lead turns 20. that means there will be more time shifts I believe where their actual age will be coming soon like 2020?

I thought she will pay sae-ro-yi father?? Then why she betrayed sae-ro-yi did she have plan?? After watching him star in hwarang, I've been watching every series he is in. I did watch some movies he is in too. fall in love with him since the very first time. How I wish he will sing an OST again tho. Love his singing voice so so much! He's soooooo talented.

I decided not to read the webtoon so that I won't have any expectations but rather I should dive into this series without knowing anything beforehand. The cast is great! Hopefully, this drama will shine more since I think they have a good rating for their first week.

They’re slightly older than their characters, but they still look younger than their actual age and differences makes for actual dynamic. Also both incredible actors. What else do you need? Maybe there is more trendy cast out there somewhere, but this duet is hella talented and versatile. So no one comes close to them acting wise.

On another note, love PSJ, but this drama sounds like it will be exhausting to watch. Dramas with conglomerates violating the rights of average citizens are emotionally draining and no fun to watch but, we'll see. Maybe they'll have something new/different. So far this drama's story sounds unimaginative and basic.
