Im Jin-Hee (Uhm Ji-Won) is a gung ho reporter, out to do the ring thing. She covers a violent case involving Forest, the biggest IT company in South Korea. The chairman of Forest is Jin Jong-Hyun (Sung Dong-Il). He relies heavily on shamanism. During her investigation, Im Jin-Hee learns of a spiritual consulting company that is affiliated with Forest. The head of that affiliate company is Jin Kyung (Jo Min-Soo). While trying to reveal the secret behind Forest, Im Jin-Hee meets So-Jin (Jung Ji-So). She is possessed by a spirit and she has a special ability.

Odethe Sep 26 2022 9:22 am I think detective should have gone more screen time I love him he's super good looking and a great character even though he didn't really believe his wife. The wife and the girl made me feel a lot of things. I really like the chemistry between them and I would have loved to see for three of them become a family. The cursed is a really good show. I really like the antagonist because although they did horrible things at the beginning they sort of have a good-ish intention. Especially the shaman lady the way you hated her, the way she gave a feeling of powerful, of elegance, of fear was pretty amazing. I really wanted the side of the chairman to get explained more especially since he talks about the scars the girl had and how he chose to let her live when he saw them and not harm her at least directly. I really wanted to know how she got the spirit perhaps it was explaining I didn't catch him but I thought it was going to be like the mom turned into a evil dogs or something. (My silly theory)

MEeChell May 20 2022 6:56 pm By the way, Jun Hee is a horrible wife and they made Ji So almost as annoying in this drama as they did in Imitation. I get detective was a little dismissive but everytime he did or said anything out of care she was annoying and rude, and So Jin was a brat and snooty about a woman she's know like two weeks and way too willing to kill anyone who annoyed her. ????

Nayz Apr 21 2022 1:30 am Just finished binge-watching this series in one sitting and after watching all 12 episodes, I'm not really sure how I felt about the series overall. I mean the storyline was quite interesting and different from other 'shaman' related K-Dramas that I've seen, but after watching episode after episode, the scenes started to become quite predictable which made the series less interesting to watch. The actors/actresses were really good at playing their roles and they all seemed to fit their roles perfectly. I was quite fond of Jin Kyung (Jo Min-Soo), despite being the antagonist, as she played her role really well, especially in her death scene, which was timed perfectly in my opinion. I also really liked Jung Ki-So's (Baek So-Jin) character and as I think about it, I don't know who else could've played that role as exceptional as she did. She was also one of the reasons why I continued to watch the show as I was intrigued to see if she was going to be killed off or not. The last episode was definitely my favorite and made the series worthwhile with that cliffhanger. I knew there had to be more to that story so when I found out that they made a movie, The Cursed, Dead Man's Prey, I just knew I had to watch it. I would recommend watching the movie if you enjoyed the series as it's definitely a step up from the series. But yeah, overall, mixed emotions about this series.

They’re not so bad but not so good either(especially if you watched the last ep), well of course except the other characters who are pretty good in general. Also I just wanted to discuss that the other reporter part, Jinhee did not mean to kill him, just like us who wishes someone karma when they do us wrong but absolutely regret it when something bad actually happens. it’s just human things where we wish but we don’t necessarily want it to become true. For the little girl, in the beginning yeah she was a little too… morally bad but you can tell that she isn’t super bad when you follow the story carefully and how it is written,, hence why I think she’s just morally grey especially with the backstory towards the end where they show her kid version with Jinhee. I don’t know, just my thoughts based on how I perceived and interpreted the overall story and writing.

Pikachu Nov 27 2021 12:37 pm I agree with the poster Diana that most main characters in this show are bad, except for the limping guy. I was neutral during the first episodes but by episode 5 I really started to dislike So-Jin and by episode eight I hated both her and Im Jin-Hee, lol.

Someone said that So-Jin and Im Jin-Hee were "morally fine"; I guess Im Jin-Hee can be considered okay, but So-Jin is *literally* an unremorseful hitman who kills people for no other reason than because she is asked to do so and doesn't even enquire whether the targets are actually bad but just carry out the killings anyway without asking questions. She was also rude against Im Jin-Hee's husband without *any* reason whatsoever.

I think people who think she is good would probably view her differently if she had been an adult man with a gun but otherwise the same character.

By episode 10, I just couldn't bring myself to watch the remaining episodes as I was so annoyed by the characters, lol.

The two main antagonists are the chairman and evil shaman, the two protagonists are the teenage gal, journalist and journalist's cop hubby etc. The protagonists are morally fine....the journalist even want to sacrifice her own life in the finale to save all the tens thousands or more people who are tagged in The Forest of Curses. So I don't quite understand what you mean by saying that they are all morally bad...If you mean when the teenage gal and journalist nearly want to put a curse on the private investigator scene, eventually they did not do so and he turned out alive and kicking...

I don't understand what's the rational to make him be permanently limping? I mean, does this help in the plot process except to make his colleague feel guilty about it?? In reality if you are kinda handicapped how could you be able to be a cop? furthermore a detective at VCU? I guess that's dramaland where some things do not have any logic to it.

Diana Dec 09 2020 6:35 am What a waste of time. If you are planning on watching something like Guest, don’t watch this one. Its slow paced and each minute feels as if you are having a stroke. There’s no antagonist or protagonist character, everyone is morally bad in cynical way. It left such a bad taste in my mouth that my chronic illness started acting up.

I really hope that it gets the recognition it deserves. I wish there were more dramas w/ a similar concept!! + please do a second season my life depends on it :(

Mick Psyphon Feb 21 2020 11:43 pm After reading the synopsis, I was curious abut the story. So, I dove into episode 1 with all the eagerness of kid in a candy store; and I wasn’t disappointed!!!

This isn’t your typical KDrama. It’s a cut above the average. While it’s still too early in the series to make a determination on the overall plot and storyline, episode 1 was great! They writers have successfully laid out the foundations for a series full of subplots to unfold throughout each episode.

That main characters were introduced well. They introduced foreshadowing to support many different directions that the can take us down. The characters are just interesting enough to entice us forward; and to actors are good. Really good! The production does it all justice.

I’ looking forward to the rest of this series; and I don’t expect to be disappointed.
