Plot

Through fate mailman Dong-baek Ku (Hwang Jung-Min) and famous actress Ji-su Han (Kim Ah-Joong) crosses paths and eventually become involved in a contract marriage.

It all starts when actress Ji-su gets involved in a car crash with her secret boyfriend driving the car. Desperate to cover up their relationship, Ji-su drags an innocent bystander, mailman Dong-baek Gu into the car, while her boyfriend flees the scene. The paparazzi then arrives and takes their photos. This brings Dong-baek Gu instant notoriety and things turn more bizarre when he continues to act as Ji-su's boyfriend.

Terry May 03 2022 7:39 pm So I made it through the series and I am glad I did. The story ended up being pretty good. I even liked Ji Soo character half way through too. Everyone did a great job and JSW still looks the same as he did 13 years ago, that man is fine.

Terry May 01 2022 12:43 pm I am going to try to make it through the whole drama but Ji Soo is killing it for me. She is doing all of this for a man who is too weak to stand up to his father. If he wanted to be with you, he wouldn't have gotten engaged to another woman and hid you. And she is mean and mad at everyone but the one who put her in this predicament. She is so mean to Gong Baek and she keeps asking why he isn't getting mad at her. I think she wants him to be mad so then she doesn't feel so bad for treating him that way. She keeps expecting him to be greedy and needy and he keeps surprising her.

Lovable leads, interesting side characters, funny, heartbreaking and later encouraging all mixed up together. I thought the script is near excellent despite the over the top plotline -- the writer somehow make it seemed believable.

Hwang Jungmin's acting is just awesome. He nailed all the heartbreaking expressions. I cried when I just look at his face -- he didnt need to shed tears in order for me to cry for his character lol.

Excellent drama and no doubt a rewatch material. One of the best contract marriage theme kdramas out there.

Arihant Sep 23 2017 4:50 pm Sometimes sheer luck pulls you towards an unheard gem of a drama! I had been looking up Kim Jung ah drama series as she has been recently starring in "Deserving of the name".This name stuck out.

I somehow feel shows made prior to 2013 seem to the real kdrama gems.This is an affecting show with an optimistic view of the world laced with superb performances, great direction, great writing and a fitting ost.

On our time it aired around 9 or 9:30 every evening. fortunately, I arrive in our house from work on the said time. my day is not complete when I havent watch it. So lucky to have this drama. LOVE IT.

EastoftheWest Nov 18 2014 6:09 pm Sweet and funny show. But wasn't Kim Kang-Mo was one of the stupidest villains ever? Opportunistic yes. In that regard he was very, very lucky, so he lasted until the end. But he was cartoon-evil type stupid. Reminded me of a live action Snidely Whiplash or Dick Dastardly but sans the humor. Joo Sang-Wook played him great too.

ace Oct 24 2014 5:51 am While the two leads are charming enough I found the real fun in this drama in the secondary characters. Especially His sister and Her brother. Those two stole every scene they were in. I wish they'd had more screen time. I liked His sister's friend too. I sorta felt sorry for her because she lost out. If I had a complaint, and it isn't 'really' a complaint, it is that the lead male character was simply too nice. All-in-all, while it is not an original cinematic masterpiece, it is a fun series to watch.

To those who have not watch, this is another retake of the series Full House, but with another environment. If Full House is an A, this is a B. Not to say this is bad, B is still great, but unfortunately cannot surpass the success of Full House.

Watch it, this is still good, especially the main casts.

Ayea Jul 10 2014 11:14 am I watched this drama three years ago and it still remains a favorite of mine … good story, a great ensemble of cast and one of the best rendition of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" I've ever heard. Hwang Jung-min appeared in only two dramas (unfortunately, the other one was a flop) … I'll have to check out the movies he starred in since he is one of the best actors of any nationality that I know of.

Clarkdale44 Dec 24 2013 12:07 pm Well, to be honest i wasn't sure about how the story will work out, but i was able to keep on it till the end. Hwang Jung-Min and Kim A-Joong both did a tremendous job. I don't really want to say this but Jung-Min didn't seemed compatible with A-Joong, Anyway it all worked out well throughout the entire series.

Story was great and interesting, i didn't got bored at all. Dong-Baek's character may not be good looking but he is kind and caring person and that's all there is to it that made actress Han Ji-Su fall for him. I really liked the way she apologized for her lies at the press conference. Don't read further if you have yet to watch the last episode. Anyway what really made me like this drama too much is the satisfying ending.. You may have watched in many dramas that the main couple promise to marry but all they does in the end is hugging or kissing, but it felt really good when they married for real in the end. I just feel too happy right now after experiencing such a moment, otherwise i always feel somewhat unsatisfied in the end. I must thank the script writer for making a great script and making it satisfying in the end.

I will give it 9.9/10 (For great casting, direction, story, cinematography)

Gasenadi Mar 12 2012 9:50 am How can a romantic kdrama be so similar yet so different from the rest? First of all, the comedy in "romantic comedy" did NOT disappear around the middle of the drama as it frequently does in most dramas. You don't see that descent into chaebol venom, episode after grueling episode. But there is still enough of the regular tropes and characteristics. Those in themselves can be funny if you think about them: how the villainous patriarch always seems to love gardening and has a very DEEP voice. Personally, I think Hwuang Jung-Min brought out the BEST in every other actor. His character is what distinguishes this drama from all the others. Whenever I need a break from the other tearjerkers, I'll certainly be returning to this drama because I plan on purchasing the DVD. Congratulations.

Film Buff Mar 11 2012 7:54 am I've watched the dozen best-rated KDramas and I can say this is the best one story wise, acting wise, script wise, romance wise. The lead actor is not good looking like those in almost every other story but the charisma, the acting, and the way he played his character will make you really love him and the whole story really believable. By the end of the story, you will have no doubt that a top actress as like Han Ji Su can and will definitely fall for a simple postman like Go Dong Baek. Unlike in most KDramas, this one shows that good guys (and not just the hot good looking guys with mommy issues, etc.) can and do win hearts. A must watch for all drama buffs.

Jade Aug 03 2011 11:07 am I love this drama,whenever i watch it,it always brings me lots of fun.i love Dongbaek charater,he is so honest and silly.i enjoy Jisu also,she is a really friendly star and is a precious warm-hearted girl.Their love is priceless.No terrible ending,no main charater die,no decease cancer...but a happy ending,i like it much.Both Jung Min and Ah Joong are very talented artists,they portray the personality of charaters very well

Didn't like the awkward/silly character of Goo Dong Baek, but the fun moments the brother-sister-"wife"-"bro-the-law" had was really memorable. The part where Goo Dong Baek sang was superb! Ending was really nice and if they had 1 more episode just to show more singing, dating and family fun after the wedding to wrap up the drama would be perfect...and one more scene of the black cat, this time with Dong Baek & Han Ji Soo, meow.. Will watch more of Hwang Jung Min movies just to make sure he's not awkward/silly like his Dong Baek character. Check out some of his stage musical performances on youtube...

For those who just want to watch a nice drama with a lot of humor and romance I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it is not that kind of a sad drama with a bad and teribble ending
