Residents in a small town fall into a state of chaos due to the presence of a false religious group.

Kim Min-Cheol (Um Tae-Goo) was once a promising judo athlete in his high school days, but, due to his personality with a strong sense of justice, he went in and out of prison. One day, he hears that his hometown of Wolchoori is designated as a an area to be submerged and residents will receive compensation. Kim Min-Cheol goes back to Wolchoori. He sees strangers in the town and feels something weird.

Choi Kyung-Seok (Cheon Ho-Jin) comes to Wolchoori. He looks like a nice man with a smile on his face. The residents don't trust him at first, but he helps them receive compensation and they begin to trust him. Choi Kyung-Seok then tries to set up a religious organization.

Kim Young-Sun (Esom) is the younger sister of Kim Min-Cheol. Her life at home is bleak. She is studying nursing and hopes to leave Wolchoori as soon as possible. Her brother Kim Min-Cheol returns home, but her life is still bleak as usual. At that time pastor Sung Cheol-Woo (Kim Young-Min) approaches her.

Momm Dec 15 2020 3:58 pm I ended up liking the 1st season after half way through but season 2 disliked completely. Why do they always ruin things with a season 2 but completely different plot. It's like Bad Guys. Loved season 1 but hated season 2

Kaito Kid Aug 15 2020 2:07 am I really hate it when they make season 2 of a drama that I watch then it is unrelated to season 1 since usually the story is almost the same but characters are not. I just finished watching Save Me season 1 and it is so good, the cult thing is believable, and I like how they did not push on the romantic side. The only downside I found in s1 is that the villains felt like they became so weak at the end when they where so fierce and strong at the beginning. Anyhow, I'll still try to watch this somehow, sometime in the future since I'm still in awe of the first season and don't want to ruin it, which happened to most dramas that I like with 2nd season like Iris, and vampire prosecutor when season 2 left things unfinished and season 3 became hopeless now.

GT Jun 06 2020 10:34 pm I am at Episode 7, and still can’t understand the appeal of KMC. To me he has so many qualities that make him hard to redeem, and I cannot stand his mom being overly protective, like the typical Asian mum who feels that her son can do no wrong. I know the context of the villagers means it’s basically still a very patriarchal, sexist society, but it’s still so disgusting to see the mum constantly overlooking his behaviour. And I don’t get why viewers like his hoarse voice... meh.

I know that in future episodes, the protagonist will end up fighting the antagonists successfully and end up saving the day, but at this moment, I’m still not entirely behind KMC as a character. He’s just a thug with a sad past, but his actions and behaviour irk me to the core.

It was such a madness and I almost stopped watching it half-way through the story.. and I'm kinda considering on watching this but I'm still hesitating. The Plot Synopsis kinda the same with the first season so idk if it'd be worth it. And if ever it has the same plot tho,,,, then I definitely would be able to watch it when I'm finally ready to be in a rollercoaster storyline lmao anyhow I think I ain't ready for this mindblowing cult religious group

This is a really frustrating drama to watch but I love it so much. It just shows how scary it is when you fall too deep in wrong beliefs and the consequences around it. Such a bad luck for people of Wolchoori there's a pro scammer targeting them when they're in a tough position, I get how they come out to trust Choi Kyungsuk till the end because he's the only one who gave them hope, even a law professor from a big university got win over by Choi, let alone the people from the countryside who were not as well educated. All the acts were well planned and well executed. I like how the anti-hero Mincheol go from just wanting to prove that Choi is a dirtbag to began to really care about the people and save them from Choi. I also like how sincere Soodal became in assisting Mincheol to do what he has to do. All of the actors that played in this drama are great in their roles, especially Uhm Taegoo and Cheon Hojin as the two leads. Special mention to Kim Youngmin who I think gave a wonderful performance in the last episodes as the mad pastor. I was sincerely cheering for him to finish off Choi in the end Lol, saving Mincheol from the hassle, though it would've been great if he never bring Sungho along. Too bad the pastor is the only one who cares for Sungho. The ending really give me mixed feelings because the only one who got a happy ending is Mincheol's family while the other villagers are struggling to get by and let the incidents pass them. The scene where the police chief come to visit them one by one a couple years later when one of them died alone is the most heart breaking, the fact that none of them really goes to the funeral broke my heart even further. I was not expecting this kind of ending but what did I even expect? The ending is what make this drama more real and hard hitting than it would be if everyone was happy in the end. Anyway this drama should have more recognition, the ratings are unfortunate because this is high a quality drama.

This is a perfect story to immortalized th importance of FAITH... as the final question of Kim Yeong Son stated that "Even after witnessing a miracle, could we live without faith?" yet she doesn't knew the answer.

LOL that was really funny and fun to see. i loved both and can't wait for a 3th one. i just love how they cast amazing actors for this drama and not some overrated actors thank god!

Although I don't like Esom's character from the start, for the last two episode her character suddenly evolved and became better. I like it when the bad guy turned out to be the good guy in this drama. Everything was so good, the acting of the four main lead as well as the supporting actors. I'm also glad Madame Ko ended up with Kim min cheol and her love didn't end up being one sided.

But what makes me mad and sad about this drama, Kim Min Cheol's mother believed his son is the satan. I thought, for once, someone from the neighborhood or from his family will believe in the goodness within him. That's why I'm thankful to Madame Ko and Soodal for sticking up with Kim Min Cheol.

brynne muir Jun 28 2019 2:11 am It makes sense to me--considering the utterly nonsensical and poorly developed, if not formulaic and redundant Kdramas that have plagued screens this year--that the ratings for this drama are so mediocre. I just finished watching Save Me 2, and must declare that it is, by far and away, the best drama of 2019 (which, unfortunately, isn't saying much). The plot is fresh, the pace is exceptionally good (for the first time in a long while, I felt that this series could have done with an additional episode or two),the character development was excellent, plot and storyline interesting and not too over-the-top, and overall presentation were very well executed. I was captivated throughout the series, and found myself wanting to see more. The writers knew how to present this drama without boring or over-stimulating the audience. One particular facet I genuinely enjoyed was the relationship between the police officer and Kim Min-Cheol, and how it is developed throughout. I was intrigued by their personalities, backstories, and the methods by which they face the overarching theme of the drama.With no revenge plot or silly romantic pairings, this drama is strangely refreshing and highly recommended (not for kids!).

pikanim Jun 22 2019 12:23 pm yes this totally lived up to my expectations of season 1. Loved both seasons for different reasons. Even this as a standalone is great for a drama’s standard. first ep didnt really get me hooked right away but it gets better really quickly.

now that theres only 2 more eps left, i need more uhm taehoos drama.... not really sure if theres actually a link between save me 1 and 2.. would be cool if there is!

but as i mentioned, it’s a good drama in it alone!

Tanya Jun 13 2019 7:14 am Um Tae Goo's acting made me stay for the drama. It's not that I don't like the drama, in fact I do like it, but Um Tae Goo's acting is so strong and unique, it makes me excited and anxious about the wait inbetween new episodes.

This may not be his biggest project yet, but I genuinely hope he is proud of how he portrayed the role of the boy everyone refused to listen to, in SM2, it was so moving and I'm sure there's more to come in the remaining episodes that are yet to be aired.

caca Jun 07 2019 10:36 am i’ve watch till ep 10 and this drama is just so good. the storyline and the casts are amazing. i wish the truth will be revealed soon and then kim min cheol can marry madame ko ㅋㅋ it’s ok if u didn’t watch the first season before, this new season is not related with it. definitely a recommended ongoing kdrama.

I loved the first drama and when I saw there was a second season I was super excited to watch it however none of the main cast from the first are taking place within this drama. There's no connection to the first one as it's a whole new story/plot and I'm contemplating whether its worth watching :/

Cheri May 19 2019 11:10 pm I think they named this Save Me 2 because of the religious cult/church storyline, not necessarily a continuation of the first one. This one is a more grownup version I would say and hopefully darker as the leads all have a dark past. It's a very underrated drama for sure right now and hope that it picks up.

ajds May 16 2019 11:28 pm I'm liking the story so far. The story development kinda slow compare to first one but still it's great to see each character develop. The tone also more lighter compare to the first one. The only things that concerns me is on how they're gonna make the story more interesting since the plot itself is simple enough. About this old dude that came to village and starts manipulating the villagers with the cult and the only one that realize these only the village thug, which much to everyone's mind is a trash. (Not a spoiler since the movie the story based on also has the same plot). I understand if it is a movie than it will hbe interesting. But this is series. So how are they gonna keep it interesting until 16 episode ? I hope the writer was brilliant enought to pull this off. I imagine how wicked the old man to be manipulate the villagers. I had a high hope for this drama. Please please please not to be dragging and able to keep me on edge.

tim May 16 2019 9:01 pm yeah wonder why OCN naming this drama "save me 2" when it has no connection and no original cast from "save me", just another story about another cult (or scam), and i kinda see the story line is gonna be a bit similar to the other one. I watch the first 2 episodes and have mix feeling, hope this turn out to be ok, this one doesnt give me that "i want more, i want to see what happned next" kind of feeling like when i was watching "trap". Kim Min-Cheol's voice is kind of weird, i dont think it suited his charecter and a little forceful and not very natural.

Also i must agree to most of the commenters here that the title souldn't be "Save Me 2" if there's no connection or cast from "Save Me". But i do hope there's at least mention of the event on Save Me or the previous cast to do a cameo, so we know that this drama at the same timeline with previous one.
