He writes thought-provokingly with metaphors and every figure of speech you can think of with mind boggling twists and turns that will leave you jaw dropped. There is none like him!!. Punch is his first work I have seen and I was completely stunned and mesmerized by it. I couldn't even get up from the edge of my seat. Never saw anything that captivated me like that. This is genius writing at its apex. I have become an instant fan of his and on a crusade downloading and watching all his dramas. So far I have watched Punch, Whisper and Whirlwind. Yet to watch The chaser and Empire of Gold. Now, why are people asking him to by forcefully infuse Romance themes in his writeups when it's not needed?. Most at times these Romance themes soils and destroys the storylines and slow the pacing of great thrilling dramas that don't need Romance themes. If you are a fan of romance dramas just stick to those and research writers who write such and follow their works. Korean cinema is not only about Romance Romance. There are other genres as well for everybody. Park Kyung Soo is a writer made for us those who love action, thriller, law and political dramas and we love him for that. If you want to see Romance then please stay off Park Kyung Soo's excellent works and focus on your Romance dramas and let those of us who love Park Kyung Soo's style of writing with little to no Romance enjoy the fast-paced, tensely packed dramas he produces. Mr Park Kyung Soo please if you are reading this, kindly stick to what you know to do best and stick to your genre of writing without messing your writing with any slow-burning Romance scenes. We don't need them. Let other writers who write Romance themes write Romance dramas for their fans. Please we need more dramas like Punch, The Chaser , Empire of Gold , Whirlwind and Whisper with more action. Thank you !!! Zen Jul 12 2024 10:28 pm Hi. I like the Whirlwind story. If I have funds I will get you as writer to show my country how politicians and businessmen ruin our country. Thank you for your talent. Jooo Nov 26 2021 8:05 am Dear writernim. Please write another amazing story like Whisper with your outstanding hand,, and Lee Sang Yun as main lead... Whisper is the best drama ever Sep 18 2017 7:14 pm I am a published American author and I have to say, Punch and Whisper are the best drama's I've watched. Whisper is perfect!!! Thanks for the pacing of Whisper, the two leads are amazing too. I don't think you could top Whisper but if you can I will be waiting. Babs Sheppard Aug 05 2017 10:44 pm Greetings to the writer, Park Kyung-Soo I hope all is well. I'm writing in regards to, "Father is Strange", I really like the drama so. The writing is very attention grabbing, and it definitely stirs the soul. I hope you allow Actor Ahn to meet his biological grandmother in the hospital, and let him happily be with Byun Mi Young. I also hope the mother lives through whatever illness she's about to face, and of course the father be cleared of all charges. Since this is a family drama, it would be really nice to have a good ending. Please, especially since so many viewers including myself have invested many hours watching the drama. Wishing you well. a male viewer Oct 21 2016 9:29 am This guy is really not as smart as he thinks he is. He tries so hard to create convoluted plots with twists and ass-pulls, but it's ineffective. It's like he's a teenager. He can't write characters that are credible, they don't feel human. Their interactions are strange, and they do not act rationally. This is what causes the twists to feel so forced. But at least he doesn't shoehorn stupid romances where they don't belong like everybody else, kudos for that. prabha Apr 16 2016 2:40 am I really enjoyed PUNCH and the creation of the character of CHO is excellent Yes you are a wonderful writer. Splendidmoments Feb 07 2016 12:20 am I am deeply impressed by your story "First King's Four Gods" I like to ask about how did you come up with THAT story? I hope and await for a reply Thank you ^_^ RealityIsTalking Jun 23 2015 11:05 am Can u pls do a melodrama with hyun bin and eun hye?? Please?! Thanks :))) asdfvc May 09 2015 9:59 pm @wandivette I don't agree with you. He doesn't have enough room for romance/warmth in his dramas; in fact it would ruin the overall atmosphere of the drama. Everyday life and situations could really drag the plot out and make the drama boring. It'll also make the drama into more of a "family" drama rather than a political one. He did a great job of holding the suspense in EOG and Punch, and he made every hour to be worth it to watch. The eating scene in Punch had a lot more deeper meaning than slurping noodles away. It showed their roots, it showed their struggles and it showed the nature of their relationships and why they can understand each other so much. In EOG, the eating scenes actually had a lot of realism in it. For a lot of Asian families, no matter wind or rain, eating together is a must. And that's what they did. No matter how much they hated each other to death, they will still eat on the same table at the same time. Those sitting arrangements itself have a lot of meaning in it. Who sits where is one important aspect. wandivette Feb 08 2015 1:12 pm After reading all or most of the comments i realized you are a great screenwriter and it shows in PUNCH where all the Political terms of the professions played here are very detailed and well explained. The plot keeps up a great pace where you feel anxiety just to know what will happen next. BUT in this life you can't have it all and you do lack a little more romance in the drama the coldness in the characters is a turn off for me. Don't get me wrong I am not a hopeless romantic but the importanse of affection and family love is a key factor for me in anydrama. I hope you read this comments and write down some pointers that viewers feel are missing in your scripts (it seems this is not the only drama you write this way) You could have used the father daughter scenes and make the perfect drama since that little girl is a masterpiece in acting.I believe the reason why your drama doesn't have a lot of viewers (besides the fact the team takes ''years'' to sub the drama) it was the lack of other things surrounding the drama. You concentrated on the Legal corruption struggle only and left behind other aspects of everyday life and situations. Another example the deteriorating disease the actor has brain cancer at that stage destroys a human being very rapidly but you failed to show more of the disease part. I don't know if you have time or room to fix this few issues but I doubt it very much I can guaranteed you more ppl would have watched your drama.GOOD LUCK! AND PLEASE LET THE ENDING BE NOT SO SAD IF HE'S DYING GIVE HIS WIFE AND KID A GOOD MAN IN THE FAMILY tHANKS!!! PS. OMIT SO MANY EATING SCENES TOTALLY UNNECESARRY ALL THAT NOISE WHILE EATING THERE MUST BE ANOTHER WAY THEY CAN MEET BESIDES EATING PLEASEEEEEEEEE.THANKS AGAIN. ATT: W.M. WeliWelo Jan 29 2015 1:36 am And now, it is PUNCH Sir! Another brilliant work of yours, and I am enjoying it tremendously. To me, you are the best writer in the Korean drama industry, bar none. I have two requests: the first one is to not please make us wait, as long as you did since Empire of Gold, for another chef-d'œuvre. The second one is to make a more careful choice when it comes to the directors working on your future projects. Lee Myung Woo's work does not do nearly as much justice to your brilliance as did Jo Nam Kook's in The Chaser and Empire of Gold. I would love to crawl inside your brain to see what goes on in there, genius! I just cannot wait for your next project, sir! Thank you so much! gasenadi Aug 05 2014 1:09 pm Here again! Park Kyung-Soo-ssi, receive my deepest bow in reverence. I have not even finished watching Empire of Gold, but I HAD to recess because I'm crying my eyes out - surprisingly. I hadn't empathized with the characters as I had in The Chaser, until the last half of the series. I WAS fascinated by their actions and motivations. AND the sageuk-ness of the series! YAY! I don't usually like "corporate" dramas - all those percentages and shareholders' meetings soar way over my ghetto-raised head. My respect for your work in The Chaser made me take my time, pause and rewind a lot to make sure I was understanding. I even took notes! They'll come in handy because I will definitely re-watch this series. Probably after referencing all the Joseon kings and purges mentioned. Thank you for a masterful work of art. Looking forward to the next one. Stay strong and healthy. BoBeh Jun 25 2014 5:27 am Empire of gold is a brilliant work of yours (i rarely watched nor read Korean series..... but your works had entirely changed my way of view towards Korean drama instantly). Hats off to you sir You are one of the writers that i'll keep my radar on from now on. Dina Oct 27 2013 9:28 am Congrats ! Both of your drama are outstanding ones ! vee Sep 21 2013 11:20 pm Park Kyung-Soo, don't you continue the drama of empire of gold to series 2. Glowing the story into millennium era? i'm hoping that... the story line is very nice but a little romance. CheerfulSoul Sep 19 2013 5:26 pm Park Kyung Soo, you're a genius writer which is very hard to find into in Korean dramas industry; I will make sure to track down all of your dramas. whimsy Sep 17 2013 12:07 am Sucks at writing romance... even at hinting at it. A one trick pony. EOG is a fine drama, but this writer went mental with the development of the leads' feelings for the other. Crazy and completely unbelievable. I will never watch another drama of yours Park Kyung-Soo 박경수. Weli Welo Aug 07 2013 11:15 am Sir, YOU are a gift to humankind. What a brilliant mind you possess! Your writing of Empire of Gold is sheer genius. With the Chaser last year and now EOG, You have single handedly raised the bar for quality script riding in the Korean Drama Industry. I will now watch every single one of your projects, hope you'll be able to come up with one every year. Thank you so much for sharing your gift with us. martin fennell Jun 11 2013 8:38 pm a terrific series Gasenadi Feb 11 2013 8:35 pm What a brilliantly written, intense, suspenseful, nuanced, richly textured story!
