Jill Nov 13 2022 12:35 am Since he grew up in Miguk he has part of that American actor Marlon Brando sexy sizzle that sets him apart from native Korean actors. My favorite performance of his will always be in Que Sera Sera with Yumi Jung (that elevator kiss scene in episode 3 is pricelessly funny!). Their chemistry together was perfection and that's probably why they reunited them in Discovery of Love. I hope he is reunited with Yumi Jung a third time in a drama or movie. Also liked him in Phoenix and Bittersweet Life. He hasn't done acting on screen since 2020? Come on, casting directors! Bring Eric back!

And that's who Eric Oppa is. He never brags about anything, although he's the most awesome man in this planet. I'm glad about his marriage and hope his happy life with his own family. I knew him initially from his dramas, because I'm a kind of kdrama lover and know nothing about kpop. But, when I searched many articles of him and his Shinhwa, I knew that he's more than actor, he's the best leader, shinhwa is the best solid boyband. I turned to love Shinhwa too. They're just great. I do hope after hectic time related to his marriage and 20th shinhwa anniversary, he's gonna come back to drama land. I love him as a man, as an actor, as a leader, as a rapper, as everything.

You really don't know Eric if you try to separate him from Shinhwa. I admire Eric because from such a young age, he got his priorities straight, keeping Shinhwa together, despite all the money they try to throw at him to leave his members.

I am a brand new Shinhwa fan, but I can tell Eric gives his life for Shinhwa, and because of such example, his younger brothers follow him, they all one by one have sacrificed their solo activities for Shinhwa. Always the group first, that is what makes Shinhwa different from other groups, hence their 20, 40, 60-year group survival and friendship.

In an episode of Happy Together, Eric said himself he already turned down 3MAD because Eric doesn't like to do variety shows without his members, he's that shy. But MinWoo reminded him to sacrifice for the group. So don't blame SHCJ for always mentioning Shinhwa members to guest on 3MAD. Because that is exactly why Eric is doing 3MAD, for Shinhwa. I am a fan of Na PD and watched all of his shows. And I must say the episode with Andy and MinWoo was one of the top one for me, and made me curious about Shinhwa.

In the episode of Shinhwa Broadcast with SNSD, a SNSD member asked Shinhwa what to do when each member is focused on doing their solo activities. Shinhwa answered that at one time they also wanted to advance their own solo careers, but then they realized that their strength and popularity was rooted in Shinhwa, so that is why group activity is priority. It was good that they realized that sooner than later, as SNSD is facing that crisis now in 2017 with 3 members not renewing their contracts.

I am soo glaad that he got married, and I hope the others follow soon. I don't understand those who are upset by his marriage. He's always said he wanted to get married first. Even the interviews from 10 years ago, the members thought they would have been married by now.

Eric has gotten his priorities straight again. I heard that fans were upset because he promised an album every year. I don't think that is doable. Eric said that releasing an album and doing concerts every year meant he would never have the time for a relationship and get married. So I am glad he changed that promise. It's better to release a quality album every 2 years rather than mediocre ones every year. After all they are no longer a rookie group in a big company who has to churn out album after album.

Wishing the best for Eric, I pray that he will work as hard in keeping his new family together as he's been keeping Shinhwa together.

He was superb in the emotional scenes and his acting in Que Sera Sera and Another Miss Oh was also top notch!One of the rare idol stars who relies on more than his looks.Surprising that he has done far fewer dramas

That time I was accompany my friends seeing their filming Running Man in one of private university. Eric is very slim in real life. He has such a handsome face, tall, dark skin and very sharp nose which is easily to distinguish him among korean. No matter how the girls screaming, he remained the same. Very calm. My friends shouting his name like no end but he's still so quiet. I thought this guy is a bit arrogant. But I was wrong. After filming ended, he came to fans site, closer to them and giving hand gesture something like high five. Eric doesn't want because of him the game was being disturbed. heard he's getting married but unfortunately his fans become angry because of this marriage. He has done much for his band. And I think this is the time he should be more focus about his own life. Eric is such a considered person. From one match, I could see this guy is the one that we can lean on as a friend.

Lelie Apr 13 2017 3:08 am Eric and Seo Hyun Jin are really professional actors. See them in their Another Miss Oh Director cut. This two really into their characters, fall in love and such but when Director said 'cut', they just turn as themselves again. We can see their tongue in every kisses but clear that they just finished it in one take. I really admire Eric for his faithfulness to his girl friend. He never seen try to flirt with Hyun Jin at all. It's all about work. And Hyun Jin also act so professional to reciprocate all the kisses Eric gived. I would like to see them be paired again. It's hard to believe if no romantic feelings at all. At least I'm sure they like each other's company, that's why those scenes are believable. Eric is so gentle towards Hyun Jin and Hyun Jin also respect Eric a lot. If he seems 'ignore' Seo Hyun Jin, it just the matter that he's attached now and he should respect his relationship. They both really good actors. Love them.

I saw talk show about him rejecting a movie because of nude scene with the co-star. I respect this guy. Not that those actors who has explicit scenes are bad, but sometimes I think movies just did those without any relation to the stories.

True, Eric is Eric. He does not need to be affiliated with Shinhwa 24/7. But you forget, he lives and breathes Shinhwa. Couldn't have dragged him out if you wanted to. The reason why ShinChang keeps mentioning Shinhwa in 3MAD videos is because of their experience in variety shows. It has been a while since they appear in variety show as a whole group (interviews and public appearances don't count) and we just want to see those silly, crazy Shinhwa brotherhood again.

Next time, refrain from reading Youtube comments if you are easily annoyed by fans of idol groups.

One thing I really like from Eric, he never touched his female leads if not related to works. He's so well-mannered. I saw behind the scenes of his works on youtube channel, such as Spy Myung Wol, Que Sera Sera and Another Miss Oh, he always so gentle towards his female leads. He treated them so nice. And such a sweet moment when in reverse, it always the girls who touched or lean on him. I think those female leads really comfortable around him.

Now that Han Ye Seul is being single again, I hope they can be a couple. Lets forget about the tragic stuff during Spy Myung Wol, I really think they match well.

Korean is popular with their palli palli habit but not with Eric. I enjoy his activities in 3 MAD because himself really enjoy what he's doing. Perfectionist? Perhaps, but I don't see it as weakness. Maybe you don't know this but it's a pain to see such comments that Eric should leave Shinhwa because he'll be more successful as a solo. Eric is an idol turned actor and not vice versa, idols' fans may be really sensitive to issues regarding one member of the group being dragged away from the group. He monitors and promotes Shinhwa and even other members individually when he can and given a chance. If you don't know how much Shinhwa means to Eric you're definitely not his fan. We aren't asking you to like Shinhwa because we understand some people aren't really into kpop but what we ask is to have respect for the other members. Talking shit about other members would hurt their feelings, Shinhwa fans' feelings ergo would also hurt Eric.

And no, we're not just recommending other Shinhwa members just because we want to but because we're all aware of their great variety sense.

Plus Eric himself also does these individual activities yes ofcourse for himself but also to promote Shinhwa, in case you still don't know about that then now you must know.

Annoyed Oct 31 2016 3:04 pm From what I've read about Eric and Shinhwa, I can conclude that Eric is Shinhwa's number one fan. He loves Shinhwa more than their fans do.

The dude has been staying in and keeping the group intact for 18 years. He has shared what he personally earned from starring in commercials as bonus money for the other Shinhwa members. He initiated and established Shinhwa Company in 2011. He kept his promise and made sure Shinhwa returned full-team after their 4-year military service hiatus in 2012. He legally fought for the right to their own group's name for 12 years (12 effing years!). He even mentioned how Shinhwa members wish to die on stage (while performing as Shinhwa). Now, he's not just the leader of the boy band, he's also the co-owner and co-CEO of their own entertainment company. Shinhwa is now more than just a friendship and brotherhood. It is now also their entrepreneurship and livelihood. If that doesn't tell you how precious Shinhwa is to him and how much he enjoys working as a Shinhwa member and with the other Shinhwa members, I don't know what does. He has consciously and willingly let go of his youth, money, time, energy, and probably many other personal opportunities for the sake of Shinhwa, so I'm guessing he'd rather let several fans go than quitting Shinhwa.

And here we are, talking about Eric and Shinhwa as if we know better.

Always 6 Oct 31 2016 9:23 am I'm happy that Eric is gaining new fans. He's a really great actor and he deserves it.

However, some of his new fans need to realize a few things:

1.) Eric is first and foremost a part of Shinhwa. Shinhwa is his (and the other members) number 1 priority. 2.) Eric uses his solo works to promote Shinhwa and the members. He is always mentioning either other members and\or Shinhwa in any interview.

So yes, Shinhwa Changjos will continue to promote and mention Shinhwa in Eric's solo works just like we do with the other members solo works because they themselves do it and because we know Shinhwa is their #1 priority. Don't like it too bad...

You don't have to like Shinhwa as a whole. You don't even have to pretend to support them. But if you dismiss them, then you are basically dismissing Eric's #1 love and the biggest part of him...and sorry, but then I don't know how you could consider yourself his fan then...

There is another important thing than just money and popularity, which is love. He loves his group very much. And Eric came from wealthy family. So, money wasn't the real reason why he became celebrity. And he was the most popular one in his high school where tons of girls chasing over him. So, if you asked him to leave his group because of money or popularity, I'm sure he won't do that since he already had it way too far from his celebrity life started.

Annoying Oct 31 2016 2:29 am So true... I found it's irritating everytime The Changjos keep recommending Shinhwa member in Three Meals. I like Eric. But in this show, he's also non permanent member. So, why those fans keep mentioning Shinhwa and Shinhwa member all the time? So freaking annoying.

Sorry to say, but if not because Another Oh Hae Young, I will reject Eric too. Fortunately, the guy is charming and very helpful for the team. And his cooking and fishing skill is no joke. So, I like him even more after this show. But please, no Shinhwa member. Not because I hate them, but I just want to see Lee Seo Jin, Eric and Kyun Sang with someone else. Shinhwa member other than Eric (and Teen Top boss) is so noisy and totally like ahjussis. They keep talking non sense thing.

I really like his latest drama, Another OH Hae Young. The chemistry between him and Seo Hyun Jin was a top notch. They were really like a lover. But, during TVN drama awards, I realize he doesn't has any feelings for her while pretty sure Seo Hyun Jin might already fall for him. However, some drama fans started saying he was rude because ignoring Seo Hyun Jin. I think, those viewers just got mad since this guy can't feed their delulu. What I'm going to say, don't blame him if he can't do your wish, viewers. From what I saw, he was closer to Jeon Hye Bin than Seo Hyun Jin even though they had many scenes together.

Sometimes I feel bad for him since most of ladies just use him to fulfill their fantasy. I hope he'll be happy with the one he loves so those pervert girls won't disturb him anymore.

Look at his Vapp, it's not really his Vapp, it's more Shinhwa's than his.

And of course to force you to like Shinhwa is wrong if you don't want to. But I don't think it's the fans' fault to put Shinhwa's name before Eric's because he's Shinhwa's leader first before he's an actor. And he's doing the acting for Shinhwa's benefits (I'm not saying this but Shinhwa members said that).

Also, don't you think you can win something out of it because let say if you like Eric so much and wanna see his videos with him being himself, basically you will only find like 20-30% are his solo works while the other 70% are him with Shinhwa. Instead of just enjoying 30% of his videos, it's better to enjoy all. He's more fun when he's with them anyway because you seem to like his personality. So just choose to ignore the other 5 (if you can).

Almost 15 years since I was in elementry school in Korea. I don't think I can pick any bias in Shinhwa. I love them all equally but I have really great respect to this guy. It's not a secret how he sacrificed his career (even now) for keeping Shinhwa so we can see Shinhwa today. Not that I'm saying other members did nothing. Of course they're the same. But I witnessed how huge Eric back then. Every TV programs will treat him like a golden boy, which made me sometimes felt bad about other members. Every pretty idols (just say Lee Hyori, Yoon Eun Hye) or beautiful actresses always shipped with him. Every girls and their mothers wanted Eric. But he calmly choosed Park Shi Yeon, the girl who was no one that time. Most of fans were angry but he still protected the girl and dated quietly. Even after their story finished, he still protecting her without saying nothing bad about her (or even not talk about her at all). As I remember, Eric never ever bad mouthing about someone. If he doesn't like, he will straight forward to that topic or person. That's another thing I like about him.

In terms of talents, back then before he was famous as an actor, Eric did collaborations with popular rappers (even though he isn't original rappers). Eric was in CF of hair dye and did some modelling works when he was in SM. And Bulsae was very popular that his beard in that drama became so famous and made every guy wanted to had beard lol.

I follow the kpop since 2005 but somehow I knew Shinhwa only recent few years and still not a big fan of them. They're likable and it's enough for me to follow their news.

This is just my opinion about him as a guy and businessman. I'm sure orange isn't just a color for them. I mean, yes he said it's related with their memories or fans and bla bla bla. But this is Eric we are talking about. The guy who had faced courts several times for the sake of his group for the very simple matters (in other's opinion) which the law suit against SM about to use Shinhwa's song and the second one to use Shinhwa as their name.

He surely see an orange as the big business. Business that others might not even have any thoughts about that.

This guy is perhaps childish in front of others but he surely handling something big that others even can't realize it.

Eric is a grown man, he can handle them. He has been doing it for years and he doesn't show signs of stopping. Just let him enjoy being an actor AND idol. If you have the time to argue with me, make time to actually do fact checks on what I have been trying to say "It wouldn't be Shinhwa without Eric".

Not a Shinhwa fan or not interested with idol stuff (I know Eric as an actor), but I didn't find his tweets are harsh/rude. The message was very clear and expressed in the very polite way. I found it's very polite for asking his juniors to allow them to use orange (?) alone in idol fandom. However, the immaturity are coming from both side Shinhwa and the junior group's fans. The way their express or to give comments are so disgusting. I found Eric is super classy man but not with his Shinhwa fans. They're older but behave so immature. There is a better way to express their disappointment to the junior's group. On the other hand, the junior's fans also behave so rude, no respect to the olders and I suspect there is a big media play in this case which surely use for making them getting popular to act as victim.

Just like some poeple here, I love to see him in actings than as idol since it always give him more benefit. But well it's up to him. I'm sure after this, I will get scold from shinhwa fans.

I'm not even a Shinhwa fan but seeing all the hating comments and attacking him alone (yup, alone...since no other members included) is very sad. This is not first time he got so much hates which not because of his false. last time, the big issue was blow up since his co-star runaway and he also got blamed since he didn't on his co-star side. I found him really sincere, honest and doesn't know to play tricks. I hope he has chance to back on actings since he's one of korean actor that I feel knows how to play emotions.

Shinhwa is not a big deal like they used to be, true but you being demanding over his acting is selfish. Shinhwa fan or not, don't make assumptions that he is 'stuck' as an idol. Where is the proof? I based my comments on interviews; words that came out from his mouth and his members. And who says he can't be an actor and an idol at the same time?

Enigma Dec 11 2015 7:35 am Very impressive actor. I like how he's not play safe with very versatile roles. He potraits the characters very well that I can't imagine other actors playing it. The most memorable is Kang Tae Joo since he's one of the very rare korean drama anti hero. Then Discovery of Love with very much roaller coaster emotions and the last I watch was Super Rookie. Don't care what people said, but Spy Myung Wol also fit him perfectly. I thought Eric is the best when it comes to melodrama but watching him in Super Rookie makes me believe he can rock all the roles very well. Can't wait to see another role from him.

And I don't care whether shinhwa fans angry or not, but this guy is too talented for just stuck in shinhwa business. His boyband group even not that big anymore.

Whatever, this guy is too gorgeous just for dancing and singing all the time while only shinhwa fans watching it. He should make acting projects as many as he can.

His Shinhwa brothers are more important than any drama/movies, as mentioned in numerous interviews. You're excused since you're not a Shinhwa fan.

That said, he is indeed a fine actor. I don't mind seeing Eric more in dramas and movies. Looking forward to his next acting project.

Note: Shinhwa isn't my bias group but I really like this guy. He's so good looking and so sexy too. Not to mention his rapping is so swag.

My conclusion, Eric Mun is so...so....so....perfect.

Saratha Nov 01 2015 9:16 pm My opinions about his appearance: he's not the type that you can notice 'handsome' at the first glance. But he's more type of charming, sexy, calm and cool. The type that makes girls/ladies easy to fall for them.

As an actor: I like him in almost every roles he played except for saeguk. He kinda actor that give very deep impressions in every parts he was in. And I notice, he's one of the main lead that have chemistry with all of his co-stars not only female leads, but second female leads or even his enemies in the dramas.

As singer: Not shinhwa fans nor rap songs but I like the way he raps. It has melody and give me a knowledge that rapping skill isn't only the skill of rappers to talk fast. But he delivers it with emotions, deep meaning of lyrics and nice arrangement of background musics.It's such a big bonus that he also good looking and very clean-appearance since mostly rappers look very rough XD.

He reminds me a lot to American actor, Marlon Brando. Manly, handsome, bad boy vibes and sexy but they could able to make us crying baby with depth of emotions they showed. Note: he still looking so manly even when he's crying lol.

The guy is blessed and loved by so many people. Maybe because he's their leader and the most popular one because of his dramas. I always find his name in so many drama reviewers, bloggers or recappers even though he rarely act compare to other actors. As one of drama lover, I sincerily hope he'll continue to balance between his actings career, Shinhwa activities and as high position person in his company. This guy is good in everything he does and have great personality. He never try to show off. Very low key and humble even though from his actions, I'm pretty sure he's very intelligent. He's good looking (even personally I think he's one of the most beautiful korean celebrities with proportional body, perfect nose and lips with bigger eyes) and very loyal buddy. His weird behavior (just say 4D) makes him even more charming. I love that he has lots of sense of humor and seems very humble person. The way he leads his group is extraordinary. Not to mention he's very talented, smart and succeed in everything he does. One of the better actor in Korea with very expressive eyes and versatility. From watching some of Shinhwa older and new shows, somehow I think some of their fellow actresses had slightly crush on him. His honesty and dedication for Shinhwa makes me think that my bias group would be as last as Shinhwa if they had leader like him. Mariam Jun 05 2015 9:34 am If vocalist has their own color voice, Eric Mun has his own actings style. He's so good in delivering such kinda raw emotions even without trying. I believed he's not a skilled actor like Jo In Sung or Gong Yoo, but something other actors don't have is raw emotions and sincerity to become unity with his characters on drama projects. He doesn't need to show certain degree of 'face manipulations' to convince the viewers because it's his acting style. Eric is very natural and versatile actor. Watching he acts, just like looking at someone behave in daily life. No exaggerates expression at all, which is awesome. HIs actings is very pure and not like acting. Maybe this is the reason why some people still questioning his actings ability. His actings is one of the most natural one for me. Actors these days act like they're in theatrical performances, so overact. However, this unique style of actings, could become his weakness if he doesn't meet proper PDs who knows to explore his talents. He needs to be careful for choosing acting projects otherwise his talents would be useless. Such a shame he just rarely act. I adore him mostly in Que Sera Sera, Discovery of Romance and Korea Secret Agency.

It was so obvious during Que Sera Sera. His actings on that series was totally American style. In Spy Myung Wol and Discovery of Romance too. The only drama that I've seen him act in Asian style was New Employee/ Super Rookie. I think he should make an international step. Korea isn't really suit for his actings style. It's not really late since he still looking so gorgeous even already 36 years old. He will be more gorgeous through the years just like an american actors. Eric Mun, wake up and take your move.

I saw his profile as the leader of korea longest boy group Shinhwa. He achieved so many things in this quite young age. Actor, model, CF star, success as singer, rapper with many featuring songs, and CEO too. One of bless guy. I have watched many korean dramas. And one thing I never seen before. The actor that could act even without dialogues. And HE DID IT. There was two episodes (if I'm not wrong), he rarely speak but just showing his pain through his beautiful eyes. He has such kind of sparkling eyes that help him to express the feelings. After Discovery of Romance, I watched some of his dramas. And he's very versatile actor that not stuck in one image. Very rare of korean actor that has it. You even could hate his character but you can't deny you love his acting, such as an asshole in Que Sera Sera. Or feeling sympathy towards the dork character in Super Rookie and falling very deep with his charming character in Phoenix. I really hope to see him more whether in dramas or movies because world should know what they missed.
