Ho-Gu (Choi Woo-Sik) has never dated in his life. He runs into his first love Do-Hee (Uee). She is a member of the national swimming team and has a burning desire to win. She also talks like one of the guys. After Ho-Gu meets Do-Hee again, he becomes involved in a complicated romantic relationship and a dangerous friendship.

Based on the webcomic "Hogooui Sarang" by Yoo Hyun-Sook (published from March 16, 2013 to May 10, 2014 via cartoon.media.daum.net). Yoo Hyun-Sook also wrote the original webcomic "Naneun Maeil Geureul Humchyeobonda” which was adapted into 2013 tvN drama series "Flower Boy Next Door."
Former SS501 member Park Jung-Min was originally cast to play Byun Gang-Chul, but a spine injury caused him to drop out of the project. Im Seul-Ong was then cast to play the character.

peterh Aug 17 2019 8:11 am watched it 4 times already. Funny and moving drama. If you are a mainstream kdrama fan this may not be to your liking. Nor if you into stereotype kdrama tropes it may not interest you. The comedy is quirky and the dialogue more western style. the topic of single mothers dealing with pregnancy with the topic of rape may also put off conservative fans, who may be hoping for a chaebol like fantasy drama. this aint it and i for one glad tvn went against their stereotypical korean viewers taste that is why im not surprise of the rating nor the lack of awards. i say this for sure if it was shown in a western country it will be a fan fave for sure.

DJP Jun 16 2018 12:19 am Every scene in every episode is purposeful in driving the story and letting the characters shine. Lots of emotional and funny scenes with great morals. Really clever writing and major kudos to director Pyo Min-Soo who is masterful in his craft.

It made my heart flutter and sad. The topic seemed controversial this may be the reason why its not that popular. This is just my style. Shivani Kumar Mar 20 2017 8:39 am This drama was good. Already watched it more than once. Actors acting skills were great. One thing that I don't like is that there are some holes in this drama. One thing that i did not like was that in the beginning, it showed the audience that Byun Chul was the father because Ho Goo apparently heard Do Hee and Byun Chul talking in the hospital, regarding not using the condom. Where they were supposed to use she, they used he. There are some other flaws that you will notice if you watch closely. But overall, this drama is worth watching. Has an amazing baseline.. Just great..

Actually no--I don't think a (illegal) marriage contract like that is ordinary at all. Anyway I'm done here. Everyone has different tastes and mine gravitate to nauseatingly sweet romance and of course some gratifying melodrama

Though i was expecting for BL thingy between Ho Goo and Gang Chul as what i've been viewed on youtube, still a superb drama. Never got hooked like this again after My Love From Another Star. All characters are played well and has their own moments.

Wow, i really can't believe i'm done on it.. i'll miss you much Ho Goo...... so adorable ^_^

grace Jun 13 2016 9:38 pm having watched over 150 kdramas, i have to say this drama is very ordinary..i started out after reading such good comments but drama didnot meet my expectations..neither the story,,nor the acting..acting is not bad but nothing great..both the leads have acted okk..the drama has total 2 plots in the name of story..the secong male lead preference and father of the child..this suspense starts from 4-5 episode and is uselessly dragged for 10 episodes to end at 16..most of the jokes are too over the top and extremely dramatic and less funny and comic timing of actors is not that great..plus the most irritating character in the drama is hogus sister who is surprisingly given too much screen tym..she is shown too be too frank abt things and looks more dramatic and less realistic..and i dont feel Uee has been able to potray motherly emotion correctly in the drama..i would rate this 6 on 10

This is one of those rare finds, a true gem that you'll be glad you took the time to watch. I don't know what the ratings were on this drama, and it hardly even matters now....but if you get the chance, DO WATCH THIS!!!

Choi Woo-Sik is adorable as always, not sure if this is his first time leading a drama but he did a really good job, and if you liked him in Pride and Prejudice or Fated to Love, then you love him in this as well. Uee's acting is always a hit or miss for me...I guess, you can say, she seems really stiff and reserved like she is still afraid to bring it....I'm seriously waiting for her to shed that doe-eyed expression of hers, if you've seen her in Bye-Bye Birdy or Golden Rainbow, then you know what I'm talking about....nevertheless, she gave her best.

Im Seul-Ong, he is doing good...one day soon, I hope to see him lead a drama. I think he has it in him, I know you have to grow with small roles like this...but he's got talent. Again, it a good drama....so take some time and watch.

Truth be told, I just watched this drama because there was nothing else and I just wanted to give it a try, but this changed everything! The first couple of episodes are alright as its just setting the story but wow, after like the first 5 episodes it becomes soo good. I dont no what it is, it might be the actors/actresses, it might be the camera work and the setting in general, or it might be the great musical soundtrack. All of this just gives the drama this very homey feel to it, especially at the end when all the plots get wrapped up into a nice ending. I kid you not, after finishing this drama I didnt no what to do because of all the time and just my emotions that i had invested into it. I have to say this is one of my favorite dramas ever! Its very light and not to serious but still deals with big issues, but still doesnt forget the comedy. It might be because im on my period, but guys; i cried after. Like real cried because that it was over and not only that, all the characters were like this big family that you just wont be able to forget,They make such a lasting impression that its just to hard. Ho go just makes you believe that a guy like that might actually exist out in the world, someone who truly cares and would give their life for the child. He might be a "pushover" to some, but honestly even though it was just an actor his portrayl of ho goo was so spot on. That baby changed so many lives and it brought the whole cast closer together. Im a sucker for these types of endings were everything turns out happy and its just a very nice ending. The ending makes you relish the whole 16 episodes and everyone just looks like a happy family. I can't believe that it actually finished and I dont no if ill find something like this ever again, but if you dont like the first couple of episodes, please keep on giving it a try because like me you will come to love this drama series! Thankyou so much to the writers, the staff, and everyone who made this drama possible. And I defineteley have to give credit to the main theme song, it is just the best! It fits perfectly with the cutesy theme this drama has going on, and it just makes you feel very happy and fluttery inside. Once again, I am happy to have gone on this journey and Ill probably end up rewatching the whole series again. I have no words for how wonderful this has been :)

I have zero expectation and kinda underestimate it bc it's not a very famous drama.. But dang this is the best drama i've watched since it's okay that's love.. I almost dropped it in early episode because I didn't like the main guy character. I felt like he's either too kind or too stupid to cleaning up other people sh*t. And i didn't like the main gal either, I thought she's a b*tch that missuse other people kindness.. But as i continue the series, it revealed that things is not what it seems to be... I'll tell you, this drama has it all. Good acting, original plot, comedy (for god sake this thing is so hilarious and the comedy is so fresh), but the story is actually really deep.. the fact that the drama is so underrated kinda frustrate me. I've watched so many dramas in my life so I know what I'm saying. It has nothing like those cliché plot you usually saw in a kdrama.This drama is so much better than any drama I watched the last whole year. Take a shot, you won't regret ^^

Wow. This drama was so profound beyond my expectations. A very serious socially relevant drama disguised as a romcom. It tackled issues so deep that i see adele rolling. But even with all the seriousness, the comedy was always present. It was hilarious and heartbreaking at the same time. It was very well-written. And they did not force an ideal ending but rather gave us a very realistic (but funny) ending, which made it all the more refreshing. Ahh but the reality of the stigma of victims of sexual assault, it's just sad. It was the most unexpected plot twist for me. I really thought the baby daddy was dead.

great cast, great story, funny as heck, relevant issues. two thumbs up for this drama. choi woo sik and uee deserve an award

Although somewhat predictable, the acting by its main four stars make this a real gem. Lee So-Kyung's twin sister character is one of best second actress characters in recent memory. TVN does it again with a winning spring romantic comedy on par with last year's big hit Emergency Couple. Although not the star power as Emergency Couple, the ending is perhaps more satisfying and I just cannot get enough of UEE in this one. I can't wait for her next KDrama...4.5 out of 5 stars for me...

I enjoyed the whole series, best I've seen in a while, Although the conclusion for the antagonist was pretty realistic, it didn't satisfy me. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who hates bad guys left unpunished, especially when other people believes that the antagonist was the one who was wronged.

It is interesting how the drama could talk about issues considered taboo in Korea (single mother, sexual assault, gays), but not being a heavy story. The love between the family and friends is always the most important point. I loved the end!

I don't have nothing bad to say about this drama. Was perfect!

I hope see Choi Woo Shik and Uee together in another drama.

But, what make this drama is so interesting and enjoyable is because the characters roles especially Ho Goo and Byun Knag Chul. They way these characters portrayed plays major role in this drama to make it so lively and enjoyable. I love both characters. ^^

I has a simple yet funny and colorful love story. It also has a beautiful ending sadly a bit short coz I want to extend it. haha. Fighting to all grate cast!! I am fan of Im Seul Ong and Lee Su kyung!!

Touching moments and laughs are well dosed. The only small regret is the lack of a more articulate ending, which is basically the only "K-Drama shortcoming" of this production. Thanks to tvN, cast and staff!

I almost Gave Up on this drama, but I'm so glad I didn't!!! (I kept watching because of Seulong and I really enjoy UEE's acting, CWS is a new face for me but he is so great.. Ho Goo is just hilarious and cute ) It's different from what I expected,amazing cast !! and the misunderstandings, they are just hilarious!!!

also the storyline is not what you expect!!

I'm on episode 12 and I can`t wait for the next episode!! ::)

Kennedy Rose Mar 12 2015 12:13 am oh my..this is one little gem of a drama! i thought this drama will be one of those silly comedy drama that relies on slapsticks and toilet humour. boy, was i wrong! true..there are OTT scenes but the jokes are witty and you just can't help but laugh. and there are scenes that really touched your heart..like when Ho Gu cried after the baby grabbed his thumb in the delivery room..the time when he confessed to Do Hee in his bedroom..

i love CWS here..what with naivety and innocent looks..can't help thinking who's cuter..the baby(nicknamed geum dong) or Ho Gu! and though Kang Chul feels like an arrogant and selfish guy(or psycho byun as his secretary called him), he's actually as naive and clueless as Ho Gu! heh.. thumbs up to ISL!

can't believe it's already 10 episodes.. 6 more to go then!
