Young Atsuko Kagami comes into possession of a magical mirror that lets her transform into anything she wishes. Atsuko Kagami then attempts to save a company which is about to be sold by using her transformation abilities. She also falls in love as a 22-year-old college student.

PDot Jul 08 2019 12:04 am "Himitsu no Akko-chan" is a very fun family movie. It centers around a child's dream about how great it would be to become an adult (not knowing the other complicated stuff).

It is quite a common theme: the child learns something from the adult world, like responsibility, and the adult also learns something from the children's perspective, namely optimism and good will.

I find it entertaining how Akko had to deal with things in the corporate world. The recurring joke how she mistook "increasing capital" (zoushi) for "elephant" (zousan) made me laugh. Also, perhaps the stockholder meeting scene at the climax is one of the highlights of this movie.

However, I couldn't truly appreciate the relationship between Akko and Naoto. A part of my brain kept ringing, "don't you forget, Akko's a sixth grader...also the gap is 17" I'm not sure about this one. I am biased.

All in all, I'd give it a solid 7.

Aya Nov 12 2018 7:48 am I love Haruka and Masaki, but I must admit that I didn't like this movie. Maybe I'm a bit too old to appreciate it, bit it seemed awfully childish and not the cutesy type of movie I was expecting.

kimberley Apr 11 2016 10:55 am For the first time I've cried in a Japanese movie, I'm an emotional person but the other were all fun action/comedic ones but the ending of this was truly exceptional.

From start to end it was amazing, i press people to watch this movie maybe just for me but it was an inspirational movie, worth a watch. Everything was so cute and the view of a child was amazing

He is so handsome and i just love seeing him he is also a great actor! this movie's plot and everything was just perfect !!! OOOH i love it !!! highly recommend it !! :)))))))))))))

I'm so happy because in the end Akko meet Naoto again. I love Okada Masaki since Hana Kimi and then i always keep watching for him. as well as Haruka Ayase..since Hotaru no Hikari i become love her... :)
