Oeyo, also known as Ogo, (played by Juri Ueno) is the third daughter of Azai Nagamasa and Oichi (Oda Nobunaga's younger sister). Towards the end of the war, Gou lost her parents and became known as one of the famous three sisters during the Warring Times. Gou would go onto marry the second shogun Hidetawa Tokugawa and eventually give birth to the third shogun Iemitsu Tokugawa. Gou would also helped create the "Ooku" in Edo, Japan to bring peace & prosperity ...

Gou's eldest sister Chacha (Rie Miyazawa) becomes the second wife of her late mother's enemy Hideyoshi Toyoyomi. Because of this Yodo and Gou enters a hostile relationship.

Hatsu (Asami Mizukawa), the middle sister, attempts to improve the relationship between her sisters and the Tokugawa & Toyoyomi families.

"Gou" takes over NHK's Sunday 20:00 time slot previously occupied by "Ryomaden" and followed by "Taira no Kiyomori."
"Gou" is NHK's 50th Taiga drama.

Chuemee Moua Oct 02 2014 10:23 pm After finishing the drama i have mixed and unsatisfied feelings with the drama. the only problem i had with the drama was the main female character. Ueno Juri played her part role BUT I really wished that the character she played stopped nagging throughout the drama. When problems arise all she did was nagging and complaining saying she'll do something about the problem when in reality she cant do anything about the problem. I get it she was used as a political tool many times and couldn't do anything about it BUT the writer could've written her character a bit better since she was the main character. I also hate how Hideyoshi Toyotomi was portrayed. such a whiny asshole. But overall I really like how well they explained the warring state era of japan, i learned a lot. I also loved how the sisters interacted and grew from children to adults. And lastly i enjoyed the interaction between gou and hidetada.

eLily Apr 26 2014 7:57 pm Terrific show... wonderful engrossing period piece. Ueno Juri is brilliant as always and the rest of the main cast is second to none. But Mukai Osamu... what a revelation... I love the way he transitions from being this devil-may-care rebel to a statesman. I've become a fan!

Mya Aug 26 2011 9:01 am I am enjoying "Gou", the 50th taiga drama as I enjoyed Ryomden 49th. As you tie things together, you see the history of Japan play out. This site left out Sir Hidekatsu (Akira). An important cast member

Yoto Aug 01 2011 1:00 am Hmm, the only "Chacha" character I know of, is the female protagonist in the amazing movie "Goemon" (2009). It's gonna be weird seeing an old version of her here....
