Cha Ji-Won (Moon Chae-Won) is a detective. She is married to Baek Hee-Sung (Lee Joon-Gi) and they a daughter. Baek Hee-Sung seems like a committed husband and father, but he hides his cruel past and lives under another person's identity. He deceives his wife completely. Cha Ji-Won learns of his deception and chases his past.

Alex May 10 2024 6:53 am One of the worst. Poor acting, the story makes unexpected but quite not logical twists and the music is just horrible. The actors have the same face throughout all the scenes . Since it is a thriller, the hooks in the end of the episodes kind of drag you to watch till the end, but that does not make it a good drama.

Momo Aug 30 2023 4:45 am Just finished watching this series and it made me cry especially the cliff scene at ep 15, I can't stop crying it broke my heart. I really loved the characters especially Hyun-Su, his wife and daughter. Ji-Won, A caring wife who will protect her family whatever happens. Her love for Hyun-Su and how she protects him despite all the doubts and miseries in the end, their love for each other always wins. The kind, loving and cute daughter Eun-Ha I really adore how she love her dad so much and she's just too cute I want a daughter like her someday.

This drama is such a masterpiece and it's beautiful as it is.

I had never seen a KDrama before but she said I would love it. Since then, I have watched alot of KDramas and still to this day, FOE is my all time favorite! It is the only drama I have watched twice. Never a boring episode, well acted by all cast members and I loved the storyline. I was always excited to see what was going to happen in the next episode. Lee Joon Gi was just WOW WOW! He is such a diverse actor and did a fantastic job in the lead role. Highly recommend this suspenseful drama!!

He has the ability to smoothly morph from the sweetest smiling face to the most malevolent glare within a nanosecond and make us forget that he is acting- he was very chilling at times. Cudos to whomever cast Lee Joon-Gi in this role- I can't imagine any other actor could have done a better job. I hope Lee Joon-Gi doesn't need too much therapy to recover from this series! Love, love, loved it,!!!

kingcrabby Mar 29 2023 6:15 pm okay. this drama is so excellent, i'm never denying that. i loved it in every way and has never felt to skip any seconds whilst watching.

however, if one thing i'd like to adversely comment about this drama is that, Ji Won is too emotional and sometimes i get annoyed by how she tries to defend her husband instead of bringing up the justice. i mean, i know the drama gets better with this personality but i just couldn't help it. it triggers me so much that i just haaatteeee how she could be delusional with love, considering how she's a good detective/police herself. she shouldve known better.

but all in all as i've mentioned, this is a top notch kdrama.

Every time I think I've solved the mystery it fools me and keeps me guessing I guess that's why I'm hooked. Instead of going through all of the actors one by one I'm just going to say everybody has done a magnificent job. There are favorites that I've seen many times before and some new ones whom I am enjoying very much. Kudos again for another great Korean drama.

I am glad that I could watch this drama. The story was really impressive. One of the best dramas ever. Moon chae won had an amazing chemistry with Joong gi. Almost all the actors acting was really perfect. No wonder this drama won the best drama award in 2020. I really recommend this drama to all kdrama fans specially those who love watching thriller dramas with suspence and romance.

The main cast- Lee Joon-gi, Kim Ji-Hoon, Moon Chae-won, Seo Hyeon-woon, and even Jung Seo Yeon- transported me to their worlds and lives - I haven’t had this experience while watching any tv show or movie in a very long time. I had so much compassion and emotion for Lee Joon-gi’s character-and so much respect for his acting (he’s now my phone wallpaper and deserves that honor-I’m sure my hubby understands). How does an actor or actress accomplish what this cast did. I was generally in fear of Lee Joon-Gi and Kim Ji-Hoon at times. Unbelievable! Please give this show a watch! Be prepared to cry with them and be afraid with them!

But Lee Joon Gi, wow, an outstanding performance, really a top actor and is now one of my fav. I just love him! Moon Chae Won also a great actress with top acting skills! Both had a great chemistry! Highly recommended to watch this drama, you will not regret it!

This is what I consider and epic show, without a single flaw. Actors, actresses, musical score, scenery, believability, tenderness, toughness, Everything! Korean is making the best shows ever, and has some of the most outstanding actors/actress to include the children!

Moon Chae-won (Detective Choi Ji-won) is super at acting as well as Lee Joon-gi.

However, watching this drama has further solidifies why I hate anyone that cannot control their emotions in decision making especially in a dead-or-alive situation. I care about justice above love.

You will see what I mean when watching this drama.

anna Feb 23 2022 10:10 pm seriously one of the best dramas of that year. the acting was so top notch. love was so real between married couple (normally all the married couples in Kdrama are fighting, cheating or divorcing, lol) .just watch it. there is a bit of suspense/violence implications but overall just an amazing drama!!!

Jan 02 2022 11:51 pm i just realized after rewatching. do minseok's probably like his son who's been antisocial since time immemorial, maybe since birth. he must've expected hyunsoo to turn out the way he did but hyunsoo managed to differ. and as apathetic as he can be, he was still a father. when heeseung suggested to involve hyunsoo in their crimes, minseok was sternly against it. do minseok's original plan was for hyunsoo to be his accomplice because they seemed to be similar. but after a while, he realized hyunsoo was different to some degree. that's when he met heeseung who's everything he expected hyunsoo to be. that's also why heeseung had deep resentment towards hyunsoo. he thought he wouldn't have turned out the way he did had he not met minseok, had hyunsoo not been different from minseok's expectations or that hyunsoo and him were the same but hyunsoo managed to be something more, that only him failed to defeat his own devils.

Superb story. It was sad, happy, mixed emotions....

A story of a family that kept struggling to be living at peace and a man who wanted to live. For me it was a real story. It is happening to some.

I wish to see them again. O would love if it will be a part 2 ♥️

My comment this drama has a great concept and the acting of many are top notch.

However, like many kdramas, the format of 16 episodes really kills the greatness above. The series becomes painfully boring and mostly predictable.

I believe the kdrama should seriously consider to not force all series into the 16 episodes format. If any of producers read this, consider this. I know in the original airing, there would be advertising revenue and so on, but ultimately making good series should be the main objective.

M Nov 08 2021 1:50 am This is the first kdrama I've watched after I moved back to Asia, in over a decade. So glad my reintroduction to kdrama is through Flower of Evil! The storyline keeps you on the edge of your seat but is also very engaging as the background of each character is revealed slowly but properly explained. Casts are fantastic, my fav is Mujin but I was rooting for all of them including Baek Manwoo and Gong Mija (they suffered so much because of their son....). Ost is great and creates the right mood. Ending is probably a bit rushed, I feel like they could do 2 episodes to show how Hyonsu transitioned to his new life after being shot and came to accepting his feelings, instead of jamming everything into 1 final episode...

After watching several kdramas since then, I can firmly say this is one of the best series I've ever watched.

Amy Oct 05 2021 10:39 pm I really really love this drama. 2020 is the really the year of K drama when having Crash Landing On You, The World of the Married, the Flower of Evil. At first, I did not want to watch it because it is a thriller. But while watching it, I could not skip any moments. I cried a lot from ep 8 until the end and the drama drive me through this surprising to another one. Each episode is just like a movie which is meaningful, beautiful art, and a lot of twist. The drama is also really meaningful with many lesson from society problems. trust, belief, and love. Every speaking is meaningful. Every characters do their best, from the main lead to the supporting character. I love the OST, the main lead, the director, the screenplay. I also become a fan of actor Lee Joon Gi after this. His acting is excellent. The director is also excellent. The drama should deserve more awards and more international recognition. This is one of my best drama of all time. No word can describe how best this drama is.

Lee Jong-Gi is fantastic in his role as Baek Hee Sung. Definitely this year's most gripping, suspenseful kdrama of the year. It certainly deserves the 96% rating!

zzz Aug 02 2021 4:06 am I watched this after awaken and penthouse dramas, which i'd say full of crazy chaotic plots that stressful because it kept going forth and back that makes me sick and bored. Initially looking at this drama synopsis, I thought it may have a similar crazy sickening plots, but its not. This drama lives up to the high rate score in this page. I love how the drama showed that people judgment can 'change' someone to what society thinks of; how what people sees are not everything (it may not always be true despite the number of believers); how our beloved trusts are weight much more than unknown people's opinions; and the best of all is, how someone can persists through in this ugly world and keep his/her inner good quality (its a POSSIBLE thing). Definitely one of the best dramas with great lessons that useful for everyone at any time and any place. I especially loved how the MC depicts how he doesn't care about anyone else' opinion and only care about his beloved's trust. If only everyone can be like him especially in this era where bullying (verbal abuse, online abuse) are so common, more & more people can survive better in this world without depression. Kudos to all the drama's staffs <3

I just now realized, that Hyun Soo having an amnesia and still coming back to Ji Won means a lot on how much he loves her. He loves her so much that he does not need to remember her for him to love her. Such an ironic ending for a character who is supposed to start as a "loving" husband but has no real love on the inside.

Me Jun 21 2021 2:47 am I don’t want to hype it up too much, but I really don’t think you would be disappointed if I did. It blew me away from the first episode. There are plenty of “plot twists” that don’t actually change the plot but fill it in, which is quite satisfying. At first I wasn’t sure I would like the male lead but you will most likely grow attached to the main characters and maybe even the side characters. The characters are pretty sensible most of the time, if you yell at the screen enough they might actually do what you tell them to. But it is also very frustrating at times. There are times to be angry, sad, relieved, happy, and I even laughed a couple times. Not to mention the acting was Spectaculr, I couldn’t help but notice how every character was portrayed so well. So far one of my favorite kdramas ever. !!!!!!!Spoiler!!!!!! The memory loss thing upset me but at least it was a happy ending. And I cried the whole last episode. I’m glad he decided on his own to stay with jiwon and it wasn’t because he suddenly got his memory back.

she May 26 2021 3:46 am Love this drama! i liked that the character devt of the 4 main cast did not stray far away from their initial personalities, otherwise it would have appeared forced. I liked the male lead's facial expressions - creepy then nice then back to creepy. I saw the female lead before in Good Doctor and i'm glad she's allowed to showcase her acting range here. The ending could have gone the opposite way and they won't reunite and that would still be ok coz of the complexity of the guy's personality. Having them back together is just icing on the cake. Congrats! worthy of all nominations!

Not only the actors, but also I must give a praise to the director and the writer. Iam waiting their works in future, and tried other works of them before flower of evil. I wanna give u a detailed abt my personal opinion bcs I'm the kind of person who has to give a thorough assessment if I'm impressed by one thing. foe has wowed me so far. I looked for how much foe received the praise they deserve and I found one of the magazines that used to give criticism of a TV Series & Movies (Cultura) marked Flower of Evil as the most meaningful Korean drama, they also praised the actor performance. I remember the words contained in it like this~ "Every single eye expression, every hand gesture, & every breath of his are so restrained, yet contain all of life's joys, angers, sorrows, & pleasures. However, after seeing many reviews that this is the masterpiece, and some people even compare it to It's okay to not be okay that flower of evil is even better, so I decided to watch it. Then wow Daebak... I don't know how to describe how good it is. It's a true masterpiece. I could have all kinds of emotions through this drama, and every screen and plot is worth to watch. Some thriller drama focuses only on thriller, but Flower of evil has it all, thriller, melodrama, suspense, etc. I also cried breathlessly many times. Before watching Flower of evil, I thought It's okay to not be okay is the best of 2020, but after watching this, Flower of evil becomes my best 2020 drama and also one of my best all-time dramas. I love not only the main actors but also detectives, friend and sister of the actor. It really deserves winning grand prize.

Even though it has a borderline thriller, this series gets a balanced melo-suspense finish, by including the idea of a story about the dedication of the husband who's willing to share household burdens, such as picked their daughter to school, cooking, and take care of all household needs. This series's full of meaning and does'nt romanticize any abstinence (taboo matters). ahh i remember the thing, it was also includes parenting, although very thin

The writer was good at maintaining the momentum of the plot as well as arranging social issues (such as gender equality & the danger of social stigma) in accordance with the realities that occur.

i love everything about this series, Flower of Evil is my favorite korean drama after Mr. Sunshine and Mother. very meaningful and ecxiting! They're Very Deserve The Hype;)

Lyra Apr 26 2021 11:06 pm Masterpiece is the only word to describe this drama. Lee Joon Gi and Moon Chae Won’s acting were amazing, their chemistry was perfect. Usually not the type to ship but both of them are like a real couple in real life. In the begging I thought Do Hyun Su was the killer but luckily they didn’t make the killers son the culprit. There were a few twists and turns there. The villian Baek Hee Song was super creepy and gave me goosebumps, great acting there. I enjoyed watching the second couple Moo Jin and Hyun Soo. Though I didn’t like the ending but was glad it’s a happy ending. Well done by the production team and all actors in this show.

The real Baek Hee Sung not mentioned in the casting but he was fantastic and so creepy. By the way, this is not a melodrama as someone said, it is a thriller with a strong romance running through it that made it so gripping.

The directing is superb, it was never boring. Song Jong Hak appears in every drama these days I’ve come to expect his varied abilities.

also, damn, was really hoping amnesia wouldn't be thrown into the mix, but I guess it'd be hard to have things resolve so easily. I'm glad it was handled so well though, as it gave Hyunsu the time to sort things out with himself and to really understand how deeply-rooted his feelings for Jiwon were. Also glad that he slowly seems to be healing, never having truly forgotten who he had been for the past 15 years. TBH I'm most glad that the main characters (on the good side) including Eunha are now facing a peaceful and more lighthearted future. Truly am a sucker for happy endings.

I can't believe I liked it this much and I can't believe how much I adored Jiwon and Hyunsu's relationship, as well as cutie Eunha. Although there were times where I'd find myself too frustrated with the current situations and actions of the characters, I'd still rewatch the whole drama for the first time again, if I could. Solid 9.5/10.

Suez Dec 17 2020 12:27 am I've been a kdrama fan for more than a decade now. I've seen the classics and I've seen the newer dramas so I know how things usually play out. However, this drama is by far the most interesting I have seen. I never write reviews and this is the first review I will write because I'm so moved by this entire series. Also SPOILER ALERT. Don't read ahead if you havent watched the series. I give this series a 10/10. A lot of people have had complaints about the amnesia part at the end, and quite frankly I had the same problem with it. It came so suddenly for us viewers and we had already built so much emotional attention towards the main character's development, all to just see it fall down. But if you do your research, the writer actually intended the amnesia to be a source of healing, and not conflict. Most kdramas add in the amnesia cliche to add in another plot but this wasn't the case in this drama. The amnesia was used to heal Hyun So's past and turmoil. I feel like it actually makes sense, considering every single thing he went through. I also felt glad that they didn't make his memories come in all at the end too. The ending makes sense in that way. He's healing and it takes time to do so. Little by little, he remembers his memories and his wife will be with him to support him. This drama had an excellent cast, both main leads are phenomenal actors and depicted their BEST performances as of yet despite the difficult role. Also fun fact, if you're wondering what "Flower of Evil" has to do with the title, do some research. The writer said it's based off of the idea that we all have this seed of evil inside of us. It just depends on whether it grows into a good or bad thing. The drama was used to depict the societal ambiguity that is often experienced when the lines between good and evil are blurred. This drama definitely made me feel something that I hadn't felt in awhile. The pain, the frustration, the hope, the happiness. Those feelings definitely shown through me and that's how you know that this is a great drama with a nice plot instead of those sappy rom-coms we all see nowadays. I suggest you give this a try with an open heart and no judgement. Even the bgm was great.

That last episode though was just bullshit, I was so pissed. Since it got resolved on ep 15 I was like “cool now we can have a very satisfying ending” but I forgot that it’s kdrama land and that by law writers have to absolutely screw the last episode with unnecessary pointless plots and try to “save it” in the last 10 minutes. I was very disappointed to say the least *sigh*

Even though MCW is my fav actress I’ve watched it without much expectations but damn I’m amazed how well they put together romance, melo, thriller into a perfect beautiful heartwarming story. Talking about acting both leads are top notch and I wanna say LJG’s really phenomenon what an amazing actor just wow I’m speechless. From now on he’s #1 actor for me. Lee Joon-Gi never fails to step into a role with sincerity, diligence, and authenticity. INHO, midway through the storyline things lagged a bit and I became a bit frustrated due to how obvious the direction of the storyline was going, seemingly unbeknownst to the parties involved. I suddenly realized that the actors didn't have all the clues or pieces that we had as drama watchers and so of course, what I thought should have been obvious to them, wasn't. Hang in there until the end: the storyline is at its best in those final moments.

Everyone began acting stupid and they forced the storylines so much to create drama but it never hit emotionally because it made no sense for the characters to act that way. I think it's pretty clear that this is just going to be one of those typical happy ending dramas where they get to be a happy family in the end... Yaaaawn.

I'm at ep 10 and I know other people will find this minor in the grand scheme of the drama lmao, but Ji Won annoys the heck out of me. Hypocrite hypocrite hypocrite. She was willing to do the play around and "manipulate" other people's loved ones to close cases before but now that it's her own husband she's going off at the other members of her team saying she'll get off the case if they have to manipulate someone after he put himself in danger to give them the tip, BRUH!! you shouldn't even be on the case in the first place sis, since you are no longer impartial. I even feel like she should be suspended at the very least when this is all found out... as a police officer there to bring to justice for the people you don't get the privilege to pick and choose. I'm aware that this is "human nature" and is a normal way for people to react when it involves their family... but it doesn't make it right. This is one of my pet peeves whenever watching dramas/movies with this being shown and when I see it playing out in real life.. okay.. rant over lmao

ok not quite over.. when she calls the doctor and screams at her for not realising that the recording belonged to his mum etc.. sis... you spent 14 yrs with the man, got knocked up by him and you didn't see none of this coming soo.... lmao

The plot is amazing and not draggy, the acting is great, there are only 2/3 soundtracks but they're so good and fit the drama perfectly. What i like the most about this kdrama is that it has the right amount of mystery and romance. You won't ever get bored while watching this! I look forward to the main leads' next project!

Lee Joon Gi, is a discovery, I never disliked him, but simply ignored him before though I kind of liked his acting in what I've seen befpre (have only seen some clips of him in Iljimae, watched some videos before only because of Yeo Jin Goo and Kim Yoo Jung). I've seen some spoilers of the ending, but the journey is still interesting to me. Chae Won and Joon Gi also have fantastic chemistry. Hope they will both win awards for the show, because both are talented (and especially Chae Won for personal reasons, because she really deserves to be more well known than other certain actresses).

I finished it in a day and its one of the best kdramas ive watched (not trying to be dramatic, ive watched most of them?). The story is good by itself. Then on top of that, we've got great dialogue, fantastic cinematography, visuals, soundtrack and acting. Fast paced story thats exciting to watch. Always anticipating what will happen next. The story is very touching. It shows the consequence of labelling someone, and the psychological effects. Mental health, Family, Friendship, Trust, Teamwork are all themes touched in this thriller. I loved it soo much, it's so different from what I saw in the trailer, it's amazing . From episode one, the suspense was legit, I loved the gradual process.. The twist was 100%. Thumbs up to the Cast and Crew. The writer tho.. Damn 100%.. I'm really rooting for this drama, I wish I could vote for them so I would do it a thousand times... The ending.. I dunno bout you but it was flawless and perfect, even till the end the writer made a twist.. It's not everyday we see that.. I am really Glad that this was the movie I decided to watch among the new ones on ground right now.. It has a very different perspectives as to the 'normal' kdrama vibe.

The acting was dope too.. Omg.. So many things to type.. If you're into the genres, this is what u want to watch. Believe me.. Oh.. Before I forget.. This is also officially my best 'serial killer - psychopathic' movie.. Among the others I have seen, this hits differently.

One of the best kdrama I've seen this year, when watching the last episode I wished it could be longer, I was sad to see it ended which is a surprise because a lot of times I just want a drama to end already haha.

Every episodes were interesting and the suspense was done well.

Superb acting by everyone, except for the main villain who made those derpy face to look stereotypically lunatic... seriously why did they made him do that? It made me cringe physically lol. He could be a lot scarier if he closed his mouth like the other creepy characters. All the main characters (especially the poor trio) made me feel like I've spent time with them that I emotionally invested in them haha

Great pacing and storytelling. Story doesn't have to be perfect but they made it look like so by delivering it perfectly. I mean the whole HyunSo's character is still not clear to me (does he have a genetic mental condition or it's caused by a trauma or both or what), either it's the confusing subtitle or it's meant to be that way but I'm not complaining. Also nice how they opened every episodes with a new flashback or directly continued it instead of replaying the last minutes from the last episode (I watched Tunnel before this and it gets kinda frustating when you binge watch).

Insignificant ones though) I know the story is focused towards the main character's internal issues and how it affected his relationship but I wished it explored more about his history. I hoped they could make a spinoff about moojin & hesoo, or an extra manga/webtoon (which I think is more appropriate in this case) because I wanted to know more about his family, his mom, his trauma that changed him when he was 10 and the story behind his dad (not to glorify what he did, just wanted to know what's inside his mind and his failed experiment-slash-plan on hyunso).

Soul Oct 05 2020 10:32 am 100/100. I never thought I would ever find the perfect K-Drama but here we are. Stop wasting your time thinking whether to watch it or not, you'll regret it later. But here are reasons why you should watch it.

Every aspect of this drama is perfect. 1. Acting - everyone of the actors are perfect. I found no flows and neither will you. 2. Storyline - its amazing the pace is just right not too fast not too slow. Perfect balance between the past and present. Everything builds is just the right way with the right amount of twists. Everything makes sense. There's no loop holes and it all raps up perfectly in the end. 3. Characters - Just amazing the Main Actor and the villain are not too smart and not too stupid. They both fit into the story nicely. they are realistic and make you feel all the right emotions. The villain/bad guy gets what he deserves, its so satisfying that he didn't just go to prison like most dramas but got everything that he deserved emotionally and physically. 4. Humor - I promise you will laugh at least once in every episode. I've never thought I'd find myself laughing in such a serious drama, but I did (ALOT). Credit to the reporter. 5. Ending - this is the most important part of the drama for me, because after all the twists and turns I want to feel relieved that it all ends perfectly well. And I've never seen another drama that reflex's the perfect ending and closer for the viewers like this one. the ending is not rushed like in all the other dramas, the whole last episode takes you through the emotions of the main leads and all characters till they all find their places in the world. its perfect and made me love this drama even more.

LJG is so good at being an unwanted character and being like-able at the same time. And MCW (who I didn't like before) is really good in this drama. Her role is so emotionally draining but she did it very well.

  I watched Flower of Evil  initially because I have long had great admiration for Moon Chae-Won's whose attractive beauty comes alive with her deep and endearing acting.

  I first encountered MCW in the outstanding historical drama Painter of the Wind, which tells the (fictional) life of great 18 C Korean painter Hyewon famous for his paintings of women. There MCW plays Jeong-Hyang , a strong and  beautiful young woman who has been trapped by fate in the life of a kisaeng . While keeping her outward dignity and elegance, Jeong-Hyang is angry to be traded as a body and not treated as a real person by powerful men. She encounters by chance young painter Shin Yun-Bok (future Hyewon) who is the first one to treats her with genuine respect and understanding. Their risky encounters in the rigid and harsh 18C social context lead us to scenes of great visual beauty and personal grace.  Since her 2008  performance, I have seen MCW in very different historical and modern roles in major k-dramas (such as Innocent Man). She is always exceptional in making you live inside the lives of the characters she plays.

    Watching Flower of Evil is my first time to watch Lee Joon-Gi. I found him truly impressive in his complex, ambiguous  and psychologically challenging role of Do Hyun-So/Paek Hee-Sung. LJG and MCW bring the best out of each other in every scene. They give us award-winning performances in this intense drama.

     Flower of Evil is first-class story-telling. This drama has the three needed core ingredients of a first-rate director (Kim Cheol-Kyu) who is working with a talented screen-writer (Yoo Jung-Hee) able to write psychologically difficult dialogues, and two outstanding lead actors with LJG and MCW.  With such talent to pull everyone upward, we also have consistently excellent supporting actors. 
      I was not surprised by the great quality of Flower of Evil when I found that Kim Cheol-Kyu was also the director of Mother (2018) which the most powerful modern drama I have ever seen. Mother scored 10/10 from over 2,000 viewers. (highly recommended).
     Last, I am always amazed at the qualities of all the children acting in K-dramas.  Here Jung-Seo-Yeon plays the role of 6-year old  Paek Eun-Ha the daughter of detective Cha Ji-Won  (Moon Chae-Won). She  is wonderful and endearing as the bright and sweet daughter who takes after her strong-headed detective mother. 
     One test of a first-rate drama  is the quality of its final episode. In the very difficult acting scenes of final Episode 16 of Flower of Evil, Lee Jong-Gil and Moon Chae-Won reach an even higher level of credibility in bringing us into the lives of their characters .  Especially LJG !   A prize winning performance.

Ep 16 was melo-dramatic and slow down to capture the essence of complete family healing process in last episode, because episode 15 has reach the climax of whole suspense actions of good over evil defeat. I watched this drama was besides its exciting plots, because also because of the 2 actors which are Kim Ji Hoon who was indeed best actor here and smart detective Choi Young Joon..These 2 actors really superb and good-looking!!

I read the comments and realized that a lot of people think Lee JoonGi's character is actually a psychopath. There is too much involved to explain the psychopath personallity right now, but from what I've read in the comments, he most likely is not actually a true psychopath. The main reason I say this is because psychopaths do not and won't ever develop a sense of empathy. This means they cannot love. If I am not mistaken, he shows love by protecting his family. I haven't gotten that far, but unless the reason for that is to only protect himself in the long run, he is not actually a psychopath. From the looks of it, he does have some type of mental disorder(hehe. I do too. It's called SMLS - Second Male Lead Syndrome?LoL). I'll have to continue watching? With Love,

I chanced upon episode 2 and went full speed without regrets. You will not be disappointed. Ending was bitter-sweet. The director sure knows how to mess with your feelings, kudos to him!

I dare to say This Is The best drama I've Ever Watched, I am not overreacting, this drama deserve awards. The plot, the acting, thrill, gripping suspense, just the right amount and logical romance and unpredictable twist in almost every episode. I Swear I Cant Predict Anything In This Story, I'm often left speechless at the end of every episodes thanks to the twist they gave us, the flow, the character, everything! I thought I can also predict the ending, guess I was wrong. The director manage to come up with such a unique, beautiful ending that focuses on character development. There are no plot holes, almost everything was answered by the last episode. Shout out to the casts and crews.

This story has everything from crime, suspense, romance, family, friendship. Unlike certain tv shows, this drama gave us the proper portrayal of how a psychopath could be living among us, their characteristics and traits without being judgmental and turn in into a perfectly narrated drama.

They even pay attention to little details like the painting in the Baek's family's house, every facial expression and gestures, its beautiful. Not to mention the Joon Gi flawless acting skills, the way he portray the complicated and deep character, I'm utterly amazed. His portrayal of emotion; devastated, hurt, hatred, and even how he fake his smile seems perfect. Chae Won also perfectly played her role as detective and also a wife who is tangled in such a complicated choices, you can feel how troubled she was and how deeeep her love towards her husband.

This is not a typical romance drama where the rich handsome hero is willing to sacrifice anything just for a beautiful girl he just met 4 months ago. This is the story of life, how a father, husband and psychopath is committed to protect his family at any cost.

One thing is that the last episode felt too long and unnecessary. However, ep 15 was amazing!! Lee Joon Gi as the main lead is just perfect, the character suits him so well. What the world / people think about him: phsychopath, son of serial killer etc. The last episode is the battle of him against his own prejudice. I’m glad he finally decide to find the person who has change alot the last 15years. He can start new life as his own personality. He may gain his memories little by little but also during the process of it may create many new memories with his family. This is more meaningful, rather than just continue life as if nothing happens, thus the memories of his last 15 years will be remembered as not sincere memories. The writer is doing a great job.

@April the ending was not draggy.. All the elements were necessary. The focus of ep 16 is the emotions and the real person. The amnesiac arc is needed. Watch it carefully and you will find it why everyone saying the ending was done beautifully and rightfully.

Above all the thrills and suspense, they want to portray the greatness of love. And they want all the emotions lingering in us even after it ends.

And because we know that feelings were real, even if it took some time, things gradually came back. Things were so hectic in the past episodes that the characters didn't have time to breathe things in and now that Heeseong was out of the picture, it's the perfect time for them to gather themselves. It was being realistic. Who would recover from all of that in just days or few weeks? That was what they wanted to focus on and they did a good job tbh.

Watch this drama. It's 100% exciting and well written. So many twists and turns and strong characters.

The very last episode is my only complaint. I'm surprised by people saying it ended well. I couldn't even finish it because I was so bored. Although nothing that happened in the end was terrible, it was extremely dragged out. Korean dramas are typical when it comes to dragging out endings. Very few have an ending that is worth watching. Most dramas you are better off not watching the end because they are just trying to fill in that last 45 minutes with anything.

I would explain more about how this ending could be better but I don't want to have any spoilers. Again, it's not a bad ending. It's worth watching. It's just a typical dragged out ending that makes you want to fast forward through it.

The script was excellent (albeit some small loopholes but not so glaring that it disturbed the flow of the drama). The mystery was not dragging. The romance was just as solid from start to finish. The cliffhangers and plot twists were well placed. The director and editor were good too. There was good balance between the romance and suspense/thriller scenes. It flowed almost seamlessly. The cinematography/locations were not spectacular like other dramas but I liked their colour palettes when they do the romance scenes and then the thriller scenes. The music was ok. They didnt have many vocal ost but the background music did the job. As for the acting, I am happy to say this drama was an acting master class. From the child actors, to the main cast, supporting cast to the antagonists. No acting flaw anywhere. The chemistry between MCW and LJK was great. They compliment each other well. Both in acting and visuals.

So if you would like a quality mature melo-romance that grips your heart and a thriller that engages your brain. This is the drama for you. Highly Recommended!!

I don't even know where to start, I followed Flower of Evil since the day they announced the cast. I have been there since the day the launched the stills, teasers, and the trailer. I really cherished this drama. I ate this drama well. From episode one to sixteen, the whole drama was a perfection. The acting of Moon Chaewon and Lee Joongi was flawless. They looked like a perfect couple with the kid. I really wished there were more family scenes with Baek Eun-Ha (their kid).

Flower of Evil tells us the story of Cha Ji-Won (Moon Chae-Won), a detective who is married to Baek Hee-Sung (Lee Joon-Gi) and they have a daughter. Baek Hee-Sung is a devoted husband but he hides a dark secret from his past and is living under another person's identity. His wife has no clue about his past but here is a thrilling part, she is a detective. Cha Ji-Won discovers his secrets and chasing his past.

Overall, Flower of Evil is one of the best dramas of 2020 and it's to be treasured forever. It was not too much nor too little. The story could have been stronger I felt but they never missed giving us the thrilling feel. There are so many scenes that kept me on the hook and scared. The ending is beautiful.

Also, no one is prlly going to read this but...I saw some comments about the ratings being low, but I don't think they're low at all. They're actually pretty good for being on cable. Cable drama ratings are usually a bit lower compared to dramas on free to air tv channels (kbs, sbs, mbc, etc)

It taught me how loyal true love is, and taught me many mystery surprise things. Ever since episodes 1 & 2 were released, I was surprised and kept me wondering more and it became more interesting as new episodes release. I'm beginning to be addicted. Their chemistry is so intense, the storyline and plot are amazing! The male lead acting is out of the world, he became my favorite actor. the female lead acting feels so real, her voice is so gentle. ? I would watch it 10x over and over again if they don't have season 2. Such a fascinating drama like this, It a waste if its only 16 episodes. But please give us a surprise and a happy ending! our Hyun soo deserve a happy ending after all he has been through. I will wait if there are 100 episodes. I am breathless every episode. This drama deserves more attention. I am sad to see this drama is not on Netflix but it's their loss. Thanks for releasing this amazing drama. They deserve an award. Fighting, flower team!!?? ♡

I literally forgot how to breath! but I was wondering why did hee sung hide the gun until the ending and did not shoot do hyun while they were together in the basement and while he was running away from him??? like this is so confusing! Sarscov Sep 14 2020 11:20 am I never write drama reviews but this drama deserves it. I'm on episode 11 and its 1:16 AM but this drama is just brilliant Every episode gets you on the edge. Its a thriller, suspense but at the same time so emotional. The cinematography is top tier, I love how the camera pans into some minute details blurred into the background but it gives the scene more depth. The actors are too skilled, too good, their eyes just speak for themselves. The storyline is well done....

Honestly, I love how this drama is trying to teach people not to judge without actually knowing someone. And acceptance and a whole lot of understanding and that love, true unadulterated love can heal and fix people. I love this drama, give it a go.

We could never guessed what's gonna happen next. I was stunned Lee Joon Gi's excellent acting performance. He was so immersed into his acting. GREAT JOB! Moon Chae Won's and the whole casts' acting are also really great. It was really sad especially during when she finally discovered her husband's real identity. And when she took Do Hyeon Su back to their house in ep. 11. Despite focusing on mystery, this drama never fail to present its funny side. Thanks to Seo Hyeon Woo for that. I really hope we'll get the best ending for everyone. This drama also tell us to: ''Never judge a book by its cover is REAL''

HHWA Sep 09 2020 10:11 pm I think real accomplice is Baek Man-Woo; however, he instructs his son (Baek Hee-Sung) to do his raw material pick-up. that is why Baek Hee-Sung is meeting with Do Min-Seok at the bar for car-key collection/return and he was seen by the cleaner aunty when he was with Jung Mi-Sook. He is a psycho but I don't think he is committing a crime together with Do Min-Seok. instead his father, Baek Man-Woo seems to be real accomplice, he is violating the ethical principles of a doctor in the sense of asking Lee Joon-Gi to kill Park Kyung-Choon in his hospital. (remember that sense? creepy right? how can a doctor desire to kill a human for his benefits, he also not satisfying with Lee Joon-Gi solved the problem with Park Kyun-Choon without killing - that sense made me him suspicious)

I really love my Joon Gi oppa, Chongmal :) I never seen him cry this much and you can really feel the confusion and the pain of not being able to understand someone's feeling, And Moon Chae Won's acting is superb also, I can feel the pain everytime she cries for her husband, i just love these two leading actor. I did not expect the real Baek Hee Sung to be the accomplice. Kudos to the production of this drama. If we thought we knew what's coming? well we are all wrong, that's why i super love this drama.

It seem many of there great dramas have many difficult scene in th dark so that you can not always distinguish all that are involved or who is doing what to whom until the scene is almost over and the director fix it so that you find out the results. otherwise, all the acting is excellent and both ljk and mcw are doing and excellent job.. The real impact will show up when the international or late veiwers show up. I am just starting to watch

The chemistry LJG and MCW is amazing, the suspense and plot twist every episodes, the story, everything. I've barely cried for drama or movies but I've cried 2/3 times during JunGi & ChaeWon scenes. Great OST too.

I like how Asianwiki listed Baek Hee-Sung as "related to past", this made me rule him out as someone important. But then, no other suspicious person is listed in here at the same time to support my theory behind Dr Baek. Well, let's just see as more unveils! =P

cliff richard espanillo Sep 02 2020 1:11 pm i just finish watching epi . 11..i have a theory who is the killer now...after watching many action crime kdrama...my guess si the doctor is the killer , the father of hyun soo is innocent .he was frame up only..the killing is not serial killer case but a buy n sell organ transplant syndicate..my guess is the doctor bought people from the mafia to sell or use the organs of the victim...dats why the victims where never found....the only fault the father did of hyun soo was get involved in the mafia. my guess is he was trying to find her wife...doctor n his son r the real culprit...the problem is how to prove der crime..unless they confess or the coma guy will flip the switch n start killing people..

Lee joon gi as always is superb, he has 2 different personalities here and he's doing a great job portraying both, i love how he transforms from sweet and naive to someone evil or abnormal. Hats off also to the lead actress, equally superb. Watched them in different dramas before and they do not disappoint. Im hoping for a happy ending....please

Those scene was not bad or worth enough to watch, but since the first episode on each the last minute bait always special, but on episode 10 last minute there is bait a bit anoying. For me this drama still rating 9 out of 10 up to now.

Maybe he does something with the organs of the victims, because he chose the victims whose won’t be searched by their families.

But I still confused about Hee Song’s saying that he was on the way to meet a girl (I guess it was Do Hae So because Hae So said that the culprit looked at her face thoroughly). Why did Hee Song want to meet her? Is he also the accomplice? Why did her mom ‘did something’ to Hae Song that made him in comma. Is Hee Song a psycho?

viewer Aug 27 2020 11:37 pm Masterpiece. if you're wondering if you should watch it or not, watch it or else you're missing out so much. it's one hour and sometimes a bit longer for the episode duration but it never feels that long to me. the storyline is so so good. best actor lee joon gi and moon chae won. their acting and chemistry is immaculate. i know it may not be everyone's genre but i'm telling you it's good. the ratings are okay for a cable drama but i wish it was higher and deserve more recognition.

Moon Chae Won and Lee Joong Gi's chemistry and performances are the sole reason to watch this. Outside of that, the writing is abysmal.

I've been a kdrama fan since Jewel in the Palace days but only few stood out honestly. And this drama is one of them. Nowadays I tend to lose interests in dramas midway or towards the end because some lack that wow factor. But 8 episodes in this drama, I'm just left wanting for more. My take is that there is somewhat larger scheme behind his dad's killings, hence the sindicate. And I'm very intrigued in the story of the real Baek Heesung. How did he end up in a coma? Now that he's awake, I'm excited to know his truth. Don't fail us writernim. I'm really excited how this drama will pan out and end. Superb acting from the casts by the way. This drama deserves higher ratings.

The organization might be targeting on lonesome people and luring them into a trap hence forcing them to do their dirty job. After the victims done being used, they are killed and nobody will be looking for them. The kid and the fishy employment agency could be a small hint for all the puzzle pieces. Do MinSeok could be a member and the only way out is to die hence he killed himself to let the investigation start and to let the world learn the truth. He may also do that to protect his child as well but things didn't turn out as what he expected as Do HyunSoo was suspected. The man approaching Do HyeSu with intention to lure both siblings to work for them. And I mean, what kind of bad guy keep giving people their phone number if to not lure the victims. If he is in the middle of kidnapping someone, would he care much about getting money when his car was hit? Also, Do MinSeok lead a normal happy life before he suddenly killed himself. There is no mentioning as well as to why the victim were killed..no motive no pattern no connection to Do MinSeok except they were just a lonesome people. This is just my theory..looking at the direction of episode 8 and also the preview for the next episode.

I was initially scared of his character, then understood and empathized with him, felt sorry for him, then adored him, and who knows what other emotions I can come up with on the next episodes. Superb acting from Moon Chae Won, too. Girl, I cried with you when you were sobbing helplessly after rescuing your husband from drowning. I'm a big fan of LJG and I'm in content seeing him being paired with actors who are on the same acting calibre.

But there are also people who are innocent but hated for deeds done by others only because the are related. This drama depicted this situation very cleverly . Hats off to Story writing team. So far they've been doing awesome job. Actors have done an awesome job too. Serial killing is an issue which is considered a tough job for police. Many cases still remains mystery due to lack of competence of police.

Rang Aug 07 2020 2:05 am First, why do they always cast handsome men as psychopaths? It's hard to hate them. Although, LJG might not really be one. He admitted that he was the one who killed the village head or what was it called but there might be a reason for that. The scenes where he remember being tied up on a tree and then the people from the village performed some excorcism or that kind or rituals on him while he was being tied up or pushed to the ground is really making me curious. Looking forward to the next episodes definitely!

Idk about the Village man's death ..even if its him..there is gonna be some tear jerking background story to it!! Even though I believe that it can be a happy drama by proving Jong gi innocent at the end ..to certain extent I think that Joon gi (his character)won't survive till the end of the drama!I think He will die somehow..! Or it can possibly also be happy ending okay! Just my hunch! And the teaser letter said that she 'suspects' him to be killer.mand not all suspects turns out to be a killer!! So...

LJG_MartialArts Aug 06 2020 1:05 pm the sweet, warm, romantic, and family-related scenes are made so realistic. I just think it will be a waste that a drama like this is underappreciated. I also feel bad for anyone who hasn't known about the drama. furthermore, MCW and LJG are the best in action and melodramas, no stunt double! and, last but not least, Flower of Evil (so far) doesn't promote any sexual harassment, unlike the other dramas that made headlines because of that. It will give you scenes of violence though,it's thriller ofc

I feel like it's sooo hard for lee joon ki to act as baek hee sung because it plays emotions, not only for the audiences but also the actor. You probably have already seen A lot of korean dramas that played the audiences' emotions, but I will say that #FlowerofEvilEP4 is one of the best. thrilling actions were really epic and the acting was 10/10. It's written by a rookie scriptwriter but instead of lame, it's very fresh.

I’ve watched Lee Joon-Gi and Moon Chae-Won before in Criminal Minds and they are literally one of my ships that sweetness they give in this Drama is just wow i cant really say anything I’m just so speechless. This drama airs at late night (10.50 pm - 12 am) on Wed/Thurs slot. It's not the best time slot for both the time and the days. Most people are sleeping when this drama airs as people need to work/school the next day

It was risky at first because they promised us to gave thrilling scenes and sweet scenes in the drama. but after watching 2 episodes of Flower of Evil, the drama has met my expectations! you should watch it. I think the rating was not that bad since young people move to online platforms, please talk about the drama in your social media so people will know this masterpiece. I hope more people watch this. the storyline and acting are 10/10

Ji Aug 03 2020 7:38 pm I saw Lee Junki as a logam crafter and thought he was really a logam crafter. Then I saw him cooking and thought he was a real cook. He looks professional in everything he does in the drama. Although appears to be warm in front of his family, he can be really creepy when he's still. [Spoiler alert] I didn't really think he'd do that to Kim Moojin tho, I was thinking poison suits him better than violence. On the other hand, Moon Chaewons portrayal of a detective is a little off. I mean, she's too neat, too pretty, and a little overdressed for a crime detective. Also, the whole detective team is too relaxed as if the murders are just common shoplifting cases. The cases are also too easily solved, the clues are given so abruptly and easily. Although the crimes itself are amazingly sensical.

jjing Aug 03 2020 2:38 am seem's like gonna be a interesting piece of work. sadly i'd rather have it done slower. and maybe. we get to know that the dude insn't actually a killer at some point.''which may be the case as i only saw ep1'' but rather got framed or just tried to protect himself or someone else. tbh my problem is i'd rather see a cliche happy ending with the actor i like. than seeing a epic sad ending where dude get's killed or something. wish'd this drama was more like ''Put Your Head On My Shoulder'' which have a bit darker theme too. well oh well. just some rumbling of my part. at the end of the day i just hope the drama goes well. and we can se both Lee Joon-Gi Moon Chae-Won working more often. in the near future.

I'm curious how will be built his character. Something similar he played in "Two weeks", "Time Between Dog and Wolf" and I must confess that these kinds of characters fit him.

Someone murders someone and living under his identity and live his daily lives perfectly. In this era where people live independently, some without family and often neighbors don't know all who live in the neighborhood this identity stealing is possible. As long as you didn't commit a crime that needs identity check in the police station or live quite far from the city without digital technology.
