Plot
"Scent of a Woman" is a romantic-melodrama that depicts the life of a 30'ish woman who works as a low-level clerk. She works hard, but lives her life without much joy. She then learns that she is dying. The woman decides to travel aboard to find happiness ...
Lee Yeon-Jae (Kim Sun-A) works at travel agency Line Tour as an under-appreciated assistant. She's often belittled, sexually harassed, & tasked to do menial jobs by her boss, but she never stands up for herself, fearing for her job. Lee Yeon-Jae supports her mother and without her job, believes she won't be able to get married.
One day, because of a car accident, Lee Yeon-Jae goes to the hospital. There she meets Dr. Chae Eun-Suk (Uhm Ki-Joon). As children, Yeon-Jae and Eun-Suk were friends, but Eun-Suk now acts as if he does not know her. Dr. Eun-Suk informs Yeon-Jae that she has a tumor and needs another examination. Yeon-Jae goes back to the company and asks for a day off to get the medical examination. Instead of getting the day off, Yeon-Jae is assigned to be a guide for high profile client Andy Wilson.
Kang Ji-Wook (Lee Dong-Wook) is the only son of Line Tour's company president. He is good looking, physically fit, rich and the successor to the company, but he isn't excited by anything. His father planned his marriage to Im Se-Kyung (Seo Hyo-Rim), the daughter of conglomerate Seo-Jin. Im Se-Kyung is beautiful, but highly arrogant. She's the one who arranged for musician Andy Wilson's one day tour.
Meanwhile, the tour for Andy Wilson encounters turbulence. A misunderstanding for his lunch includes pork which is forbidden by Andy Wilson's Muslim religion. Andy Wilson becomes furious and returns to his hotel. To make-up for the misunderstanding, Yeon-Jae visits Andy Wilson's hotel with traditional Korean rice cake which she believes he may enjoy. Shortly later, Andy Wilson discovers that his ring is missing. Im Se-Kyung and Andy Wilson both suspect that Yeon-Jae stole the ring. Yeon-Jae vehemently denies taking the ring, but she is eventually slapped by Im Se-Kyung.
Yeon-Jae, under a lot duress, finally goes to the hospital for her re-examination. Yeon-Jae is informed by Dr. Eun-Suk that she has cancer and is expected to live for only 6 more months. Still in shock, Yeon-Jae returns to her office. When her boss starts to pick on her yet again, Yeon-Jae finally reaches her boiling point. She throws her resignation, which she wrote a long time ago, to his face and leaves her job ...

im currently watching this drama and i must say its awesome. lee dong wook is breathtaking like always and kim sun a is so cute and lovely. the story line is perfect its not repetitive and the scenes are different from typical korean dramas. they play so realistic kim sun a is so into the role.she always amazes me. and im in love with lee dong wook all over. i started to like him since my girl then i watched partner and wild romance but this one is the best. i love you lee dong wook♥

This drama is so amazing. First time I watch this drama is because I like LDW from My Girl. I thought this will have a sad ending, seeing how the plot start with the cancer verdict for Lee Yeon Jae. And I even cried after seeing she's falling asleep in the hospital with Kang Ji Uk, I thought that she died. But in the end, they have their own happy ending. Live, be happy, and be meaningful just for today.

The first time I saw Kim Sun-Ah in Kim Samsun I immediately liked her! same goes with Lee Dong in My Girl. I love this drama!!! What a perfect pair!!!!

this drama has become an inspiration to me. i see myself as lee yeon jae, in my early 30s, no BF, don't buy things for myself and saving money for my kid sister whom i've sent to school since high school. she is now in college, graduating soon so... :) yeon jae has helped me realized how important it is to reward yourself from time to time for all the hard work you do because you can only do so much for others yet there's only one you, and you should look after yourself as much as you look after other people. so just recently i also had my hair cut (a new hairstyle, new look for the new year). i bought a couple pair of shoes, the first shoes i ever bought since 2008. and i have planned to buy somethings for myself every month, like a pair of jeans, a nice/chic top, a new bag, etc.. etc... i'm also planning to enroll myself in a voice class, i've been wanting to enroll on this one for 7 years now. and probably, do some travelling... korea would be great but since i would need a visa for this, some other time perhaps. i might visit vietnam first then work on my visa for korea.
i guess, this will be my wishlist for the time being... :)

This drama is so beautiful. I've missed Lee Dong Wook for awhile now, I loved his My Girl drama. This drama is created to beautifully! I loved the storyline and acting.

What a sad but at the same time beautiful drama. Even though you know the outcome, it was wonderfully told. Yes, you will cry, laugh and cry some more. An appreciation of life will also grow. Love ones you may that are sick, you will see in a different life; love ones that you may have that are suffering/suffered the effects the cancer, you will understand more. Don't avoid this drama because of its sad ending, it is by far one of the greatest ones out there, Especially the two male leads, not fighting over the woman but sharing their love for her. The acting by all is superb!! Kim Sun Ah was already on my list of favorites; I've now added Lee Dong Wook and Seo Hyo RIm was already getting there. Uhm Ki-Joon isnow one to watch!!

such a good drama indeed! just finished watching it this morning and up till now, i still can't get over, haha! Lee Dong Wook and Kim Sun Ah are such great actors! I can't believe LDW can cry that much, i was so carried away every time LDW and KSA cried, it broke my heart to see them suffering and i felt lightheaded when they got back together. a must-see drama. love both their characters, they did great!!! also, i just fell in love with LDW, hahaha. hoping to see more of them together or individually!

What struck me the most about this drama is the AUTHENTIC situations, thoughts, feelings and opinions of the characters! Cheers to the screenwriter who captured the sentiments of someone like me who has been a cancer survivor for the past 9 years! It looked kindly on the oncologists who carries the burden of seeing their patients die every single day. I saw pieces of me as a survivor, in the the young super optimistic happy laughing patient who jokes around medical personnel all the time. Yeon-Jae who has so much strength but doesn't show it through screaming and scheming ways...I also just cry silently..and just let my tears fall...although I am not a dancer but I am passionate to what ever I do whenever I have a chance to escape. Ji-Wook, who stood by her girl, no matter what..although I was so hurt by what he said when he broke off with her... and somehow I didn't find Lee dong-Wook that handsome anymore! :) GREAT ENDING!!!!Life goes on as a Cancer survivor. I totally understand why the cast had a vacation in CEBU, Philippines after the shoot!(such a heavy drama) I JUST wished I was there!!!I live in Manila!!hehehhe! SALAMAT. THANKS SO MUCH FOR THIS DRAMA! I love you Korea!

One thing I can't understand is how nobody has yet created a page for Scent's director, Park Hyung-Ki. This show clearly exhibits his genius and makes me want to look up more of his work.

i just love ep 12, especially the last part where kim sun ah's character is almost hit by the car and then lee dong wook speeds up his car so it will collide with his car so that kim sun ah won't be hit by it.

IT'S SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ADDICTING. KIM SUN AH YOUR #1. and i just love both LEE DOMG WOOK and UHN KI JOON, becasue of episode 6 i'm torn between the two. both have and amazing CHEMISTRY with KSA.
