SBS (Seoul Broadcasting System) was founded in 1990 as Seoul Bangsong. The company began broadcasting radio and television programming in 1991 and changed its name legally to SBS on March 17, 2000.

Currently, SBS operates two radio stations (Power FM 107.7 MHz / LoveFM 103.5MHz) and several television channels. Its main terrestrial channel is CH6, and SBS also operates SBS Drama Plus (Cable/Satellite), UTV (launched August 10, 2005 - 24 hour variety, comedy, and talk shows), SBS Sports Channel (Cable/Satellite), SBS Golf Channel (Cable/Satellite), SBS u (launched December 1, 2005 - SBS terrestrial DMB service).
