Plot
11-year-old Chan-yi is looking after his lovely younger sister So-yi, by himself ever since their mother left them to find her own future. Despite their desperate situation of being abandoned by family and neighbors, these kids try their best to carry on life. One day, a little puppy joins this small family as Chan-yi steals it from an old couple’s kennel as a gift his sister’s birthday. Especially clever, this dog, whose name is “Ma-eum”, returns the love received from his new family with great loyalty and it seems as though their happiness would continue forever…only until a sudden accident brings them into collapse.

This is the first korean movie i have watched. I watched this movie for more than 4 times. but i can't stop my tears when ever i see this movie . i am an INDIAN i watched the movie with subtitle ,after watching this movie my sister and i huged each other and started to cry. this was the best movie which i saw in my life................. hats of to chan,soi,and the dog.

Among all those movies I've watched, this movie really captivates my heart. I do seldom watch asian movies but as i went over with this Korean film (the first ever Korean film I've seen), this is really superb! I salute first and foremost to the very very outstanding performance by the two kids and the dog of course, and another, to the excellent task of the director of this film as well as to the writer. Heart-touching as I may say. Tears flowed down from my eye-lids as the film goes in progress. From now on, I will be willing to search for good Korean movies because director/s produces a good one. I not fond of watching dramas but a bit of curiosity made me watched the film because of the title HEARTY PAWS. My deepest congratulations to the director of this movie. Though I am not Korean, but from now on I am going to love Korean movies. Thank you!

This is my first Korean movie but have nevr cried so much in my life......soi , chan and hearty really made me feel the love for each other .....I cried it like any thing wen soi died n when hearty was bitten up by bencky..... I watched this movie in the sub titles .....I thank all the people who made such a lovely movie.....thank you very much..... Soi performance jus too outstanding....she is too cute .... Thanks for making such a movie...

I'm nt a korean... I saw this film with subtitle. I like to watch korean movie and i watched many. According to me this film is one of the best film among korean film i've seen ever. I like the cute girl's acting, the dog also played a excillent rule and the boy too..

you need to watch this movie. it has a very heartwarming story. made you appreciate life more <3 it's also funny but be prepared for the tears. :)
