Kang In-Gu (Ha Jung-Woo) begins his business in the South American country of Suriname. He is thrust into a situation, which he must cooperate with the South Korean NIS to catch Jeon Yo-Hwan (Hwang Jung-Min). He is known as a drug king, who runs his drug-smuggling operation out of Suriname.

Park Min Mar 12 2024 5:29 pm The plot unfolded with a good mix of suspense and intrigue, throwing in enough attractive elements to grip you in, however, it's not exactly breaking new ground thematically, it did a decent job for laying down a serviceable short story despite its rough start. I appreciate having the entire plot based outside of Korea, it was nice breaking out of some tired cliches in the Korean drug world. Although the drama didn't mess up the ending but they went for the generic and safe route. The drama had a decent selection of cast but Hwang Jung Min stole the spotlight as usual. Always makes me wish to see him taking more drama roles.

Being Dutch, I was disappointed they didn’t bother to get Dutch/Surinamese actors for the show, they unfortunately butchered the Dutch-spoken parts (American accents and pretty obvious inaccuracies in signs and dialogue). Comments about English accents of Korean accents are obviously unwarranted, great performances from them.

English is not the main language of the actors and is also told in the drama that they go to abroad when matured. Is it weird that their accent isn't American or British? If you try to speak another country's language, i'm sure your accent will also be like that too.. I know my English is very bad, but i'm disturbed by your comments.

I really think Ha Jung-Woo did a great job interpreting the role and think it’s very brave of Mr Kang to tell the true story. Even if the series was produced on events. I don’t understand Korean but changed the language into English.

j Dec 30 2022 3:29 am it was exciting and thrilling all throughout the drama. people are complaining about the english speaking, but i dont know what people are expecting from them as korean actors? i think they did a decent enough job on it. episode 6 was definitely my favorite, and the ending is so satisfying and not rushed. its only 6 episodes and does not feel dragged either. i think its worth the watch

Thu Lekovish Nov 22 2022 3:58 pm An enthusiastic two thumbs up from me. I totally enjoy the series: a story with many unexpected turns, the dialogues, the great cast, the lush and exotic location. It's fun watching how entrepreneur turned spy Kang and NIS agent Choi being quick on their feet at times to save themselves while managing to sound reasonable and plausible. I like how the series end which leaves many interpretations.

been Oct 07 2022 4:45 am im sorry, but with all this Grade A cast, this is so bad. Maybe my expectation are too high. This is like a hollywood movie with low budget.

I just think they Wasted this whole A+ cast.

But yeah, anyways, its a solid 4/10.

Hwang Jung Min and Ha Jung Woo's acting is outstanding, they act very natural and convincing especially ha jung woo. the downside is unfortunately yoo yeon seok's acting and the cgi is very bad. One thing that saves this series is ha jung woo and hwang jung min's superb acting.

Why not turn on your caption or sub-title so you will understand more. For me , the actors were superb and I can feel the intensity of their acting. althoug the series was short it was good enough. They are superb actors.

Hopebbetter Sep 18 2022 4:36 pm Honestly when we saw the name of actors, the director and netflix, our expectation was high, but it's so bad like hollywood movie with low budget (B Film) The story too mainstream and many blackholes, the dialog too cheap, the cg make me laugh even misaeng(korean drama talk about life a worker from 2014 so so much better and nobody know it was cg), the acting too bad with bad accents why not hire actor with good english speaker, thank director make yoo yoen soek go earlier cause i can stand his acting in this drama cauae his accents

I was actually impressed since I was expecting less knowing they are from Korea and not in an English speaking country such as the US. I thoroughly enjoyed the show. Hope there will be a season 2.

Also, Marga, I don't think they've portrayed the country as bad. Like in every country, there are bad places and neighborhoods. The show said it's a young country and there are a lot of people immigrating from all over the world. I didn't think the country is bad all over after watching the show.

Marga Sep 14 2022 4:40 pm The actors some people are complaining about, play Korean men speaking a foreign language. Not a big deal. You know what is? The way the people in ‘Suriname’ (the drama wasn’t even shot there) sounded. That was absolutely ridiculous. Sometimes it was a bit like Afrikaans but most of the time we heard (American) actors talking ‘Dutch’ without having a clou what they were saying. And the way the country is portrayed! We couldn’t believe our eyes. Suriname is a young country with many problems but it’s certainly not the hell on earth it seems to be in this drama. As a matter of fact our prime minister, Mark Rutte, is visiting Suriname now and we definitely expect him to come home safely :).

After 7 years of intense k drama watching I deducted that , yoo yeon sok and park hae soo are top listed actors too, so to me this actors can stand read telephone book numbers, to me it’s art . And to all comments about being a waste to watch this drama , I say , no way , I binged it 6 hours straight , it was that good . Sorry but I thought it was well written considering it was based on facts . Good job writer and director too . Hwang jung min should accept roles more often, I miss him , after seeing him in veteran , bittersweet life , the unjust , the wailing, battleship island, ode to my father , his acting magic is tremendous . Same as ha jung woo’s . Bravo

Efrono Sep 12 2022 6:35 pm To be honest, it's not a bad writing, more like sloppy writing. The cast and the place everything set in, is amazing but the storyline itself is not convicing. It's a bit waste since many good actor was there and this series definitely has potential to become masterpiece but due to the sloppy storyline and details, it become just good enough to get by.
